Default Re: posessed by the devil

An interesting read. Thanks 777.
A few random observations on suffering that I am writing as a break from what I'm supposed to be writing!
It has been an important stage for me to distinguish 'natural' suffering from 'unnatural' suffering.
Natural suffering includes physical pain like burns or childbirth, and maybe when babies are sore and fretful when they're teething it serves to remind even the most experienced of souls they're landing back in a body again.
And natural suffering includes grief too, even when grief sits alongside relief/gratitude etc about the passing of who or what was that is no longer in the old familiar form.
'Unnatural' suffering is I think what happens when we suffer as a result of our own or other peoples' belief systems. The appallingly dark mood i was in earlier is absolutely me giving myself a hard time for not matching up to my own expectations, and history is littered with examples of how people pay with their lives because they contravene dominant belief systems. I'm not saying the suffering of such people is not real, only that it is imposed by belief systems or mental constructs.

Anyway back to what i'm supposed to be doing! hope someone finds the above useful.

love to all
