This very unusual photo shows three black bears who somehow made their way up to the top of a (secure?) tree for 'who knows' what reason. Perhaps they were frightened off by some aliens on the ground trying to abduct them or perhaps they were just looking to hitch a ride on a passing UFO.

The picture was taken by my daughter Tara while on a summer (2008) work project up in Labrador, Canada. She was collecting data on the health of several migratory birds (Puffins and others) that pass by and stop over on the many small islands just off the Labrador coast, between Blanc Sablon and Cartwright. While driving along the low-traffic dusty coastline roads her team came across another stopped vehicle that had already caught the attention of these three bears.
