The rest of the story is probably the parameters they programmed into the climate models. They generally don't mention them because often the data inputted is not actual published scientific data. Huge increases in the rate of CO2 emmissions without any supporting data is just one example I've heard of that skews the model's output to support the doomsday, scare mongering global-warming-is-all-your-fault-so-we-have-to-take-even-more-money-off-you bull**** we see and hear about everyday.
