But what I've heard, Swanny, (and take it with a grain of salt, as always) is that there is land ice (somewhere in the antarctic) sitting on land that is actually below sea level, in something like a shallow bowl-like depression. It's protected by an ice bridge (which may be the Wilkins), and when that bridge goes and floats away, the water will rush in, separating the land ice from it's "bed" and lifting the land ice and floating it out to sea. THIS is what would affect the sea water levels.
I wish I could remember where I heard/saw it.
