Some of you "know" that I am "infected"...

AS are over 86% of those who were in the "service" during the Viet Nam war.

I was a very young teen. Living in a town with many Migrant workers who came in to havest the food. It was the mid 1960's.. I worked doing what ever anyone asked me to do. I cut poodle dogs, mowed lawns, cleaned up rentals so they could be re-rented. I also did baby sitting. The day before Christmas the neighbor who I worked for came to use our phone so she could call the Dr. She asked my Mom if she looked yellow?

In those days the whole medical system did not know for sure how A and B hepatitis were spread or how "yellow fever" was carried.

I say that as even without a clear understanding of how the body could be infected the Army still was making a "shot" to give to anyone who may have to go into an area where "yellow fever" was known to be. That shot called a Gamma Globlin was given to me, my brother and my Mom. I am so thankful I have a copy of the record which shows I was given the shot then in 8 weeks "classic time line" I was so sick and my liver was so swollen the Dr. ordered x-rays for a gallstone. "I was never yellow ever". But I have never been well since that day.

Of the three of us I am the only one still alive. Due to that shot I and my brother was infected with a mutation of the Hepatitis infection it is called Hepatitis C.

When in the early 90's I found out what in the world was wrong with me I did as I was told and went to a Dr. he knew me very well and knew something was wrong. " This Dr. would do an AID's test every few months as I always got anything that was going to be going around. I got it first!!! "

When the Dr. told me that there was a "treatment" for this Hepatitis C, but that it makes you sick, he told me it may not work. I walked away from the office and made my mind up to make all the changes I could, in my diet and life style to stay healthy. Now it turns out "about 20 years later" this type I have is not treatable. To add that it was from the shot is the fact the type I have is so rare some drug company paid me air fare, motel, meals and $400.00 cash to havest this from my body. "I never knew what drug company it was only that Genotype 4 has subtypes and yet I have a stand alone without any subtype / mutation."..

So in this house this year hubby was given the "flu shot".. I did not take it. He has been sicker then me in both times that something has made us sick in the past couple of weeks.

The first bug was a stomach thing that made you think it was food posioning. BAD stuff that was. I did all the right things drank about a gallon of distilled water and got over it.

The new thing seemed like a cold at first. But now that we are into it on day 5 and 7,,, I think it is way more then just a cold.


Now the reason I said anything about the Hep. C thing is due to having this I am a member of a small support group we know each other on line. The group has been doing group e-mails for about 9 years now. One member is working as an R.N. and she is seeing this "bird flu" in the ICU. H5N1 AVIAN BIRD FLU!
She was shocked as there is NOTHING in the news about this.. If you do a search it is in Asia but nothing about it being here.


This whole thing is going to boil down to the people who are eatting right and staying healthy will be here. Just make note to plan on growing a garden and putting up as much food as you need. I do not think we have seen the last of the days on earth but I do think we need to take care of our needs. Getting your food from the store is not a good idea. Plan to take care of your diet by only getting whole foods, and learn to cook.
