How about a combination of disaster preparedness and financial planning? This is advisable...even if you're not paranoid..and even if the aliens aren't out to get us! But if the excrement hits the air conditioning...who knows what we will have to face? The ability to think clearly under pressure may be the best asset when things heat up.
