The sites in South Africa are so dilapidated, which is such a pity. No effort was ever made to preserve it - I don't think anyone ever knew what they were or bothered to find out. The ruins in Zimbabwe have suffered a similar fate, they are virtually gone. Also, what is quite strange, is that there are such amazing finds in South Africa but alas, everyone is so taken up with the Cradle of Humankind in Krugersdorp and finding the missing link that they don't quite see the bigger picture. Also, it never reaches the news! I have stumbled across things I never knew existed only recently. It would be mentioned as an afterthought in the media, if at all, and then disappear. Michael Tellinger's work has actually made the (some) locals aware of their own backyard for the first time. The concepts are difficult to pass though - SA still has a very conservative and religious belief system and lately there has been a 'call' for people to move back to God/Religion with major drives and gatherings. It is truly scary on a fundamental level! Furthermore, it is rumored that the new president wants to move the country away from freedom of religion and introduce Christianity again with the aid of one of SA's biggest evangelists (this I heard in passing). Oh, the joy

! How difficult would it then be to share information with people-it is virtually impossible already! But I digress, read his book Slave Species of God and check out the links above!
