The pension problem is not more misery for all Brits, and not even just to those who were overpaid. We must recognise that the word 'overpaid' means that people were receiving payment which was not theirs by right. They aren't even going to receive less pension, they will receive what they have the right to.
I think the notice is good news to those who were underpaid and although the article didn't mention this, I'm sure that all their missing 'back pay' would be brought up to date.
We must understand that the already highly stressed pension system (because there is more money leaving the pool than entering it) should be managed correctly, conscienciously and honestly.
I'm sure that those pensioners who were receiving a small fortune whilst their colleagues were receiving considerably less might have known or at least suspected something was wrong. It's at this point that people start to think like, "It's their problem - I'm in this to get what I can" instead of thinking that they have a duty to question if they think they are not receiving their pension correctly, under or over paid.
