Well, so far I seem like the only "oldster" here! Im 51 and still have regular, heavy periods. I luckily dont suffer many pre-menapausal symptoms. I do get hot flashes occasionally, pms, bloating, etc, but if I stick with mostly fruits, veggies and fish (alcohol, dairy products and red meat are big contributers to hot flashes) then I stay pretty much symptom free.

I would recommend milk thistle (either capsule or liquid form, although I prefer the capsule as the liquid was unpalatable to me even though you mix it with water) I take 500mg a day. Its a great liver detoxifier as we take in so many toxins every day and our poor livers have to work overtime.
