I expect this scenario to repeat itself since now the forum is free for all and as such will have to employ banning to many users.. Maybe the IP banned screen should be rewritten with instructions and explanation that the cause could be unintentional as it can happen so easily

No conclusions. I agree this is probably a mistake.
But, should be resolved as soon as possible...so there will be no conclusions.
