The European commission has warned that the continent is facing a "deep and protracted recession," far worse than previously thought. The executive arm of the European Union has forecast that by the start of next year one in ten of the Eurozone's population will be unemployed. It says the worst hit countries will be Spain and the UK, both of which are currently scrambling to halt the slide. Jonah Hull reports. |
