I dont know if this helps people but i STRONGLY recommend a book.
All should have this.
The SAS Survival Handbook. by John Wiseman. isbn no..000217185-6

It talks you through all situations just from using nature around you. Water filters, food, first aid, tracking, edible plants, shelter building, traps,camp craft, emergency childbirth, reading the stars and clouds, nuclear fallout, all natural disaster,,,,etc the list is endless, but for those who dont have the money do get stocks of food and other bits this book would help, as well as those who do have the money this will still help as this info is priceless. It costs 10 pounds.

Please go out and buy it. I urge you to. You will not be disapointed
