Here's what I know about how we conduct business on the Island of Puerto Rico. Big companies on the Island do not pay income taxes. What? you heard me right. Lets say a company makes a billion in profits for that particular year it pays 0 taxes on the Island. Who pays the taxes? The workers. For what I understand you can do right off. For example I can start a foundation and put my money in that foundation free of taxes. There's a lot of ways where these big companies can literally can get away with murder. Mostly individuals pay income taxes , big companies can always take a shortcut. That's why many companies have move their production operations overseas. Average per hour wage, ie. Mexico, St. Kitts,is less than two dollars an hour. In short when the goverment allows these companies to get away with exploitting workers around the world and here at home it has the direct responsibility for creatting this economic chaos. Most people do not make enough to make ends meet and on top of that we have to pay taxes. just my 2 cents.
