I have done some of my own investigations, and have found a source for some interesting and (relatively) inexpensive emergency shelters at http://www.calearth.org. These are based on designs by the late Nader Khalili and are said to be earthquake resistant with the other qualities you would expect from an "dirt" based abode.

Hello

This is my first post though I have been a "lurker" since Project Avalon started. Just want to check-in on this thread. I have a couple of beautiful young children. They currently live with my dear friend, with whom I had been married. My priority is to stay close to them and so I see myself likely being limited in future moves to any safe area. (Their mom is not open to any of the subject matter that is being discussed at Avalon.)

However, I do desire to establish a rapport with the NW ground crew. Who knows, one day I may end up moving to a future safe area established by the ground crew, bringing my girls along. Right now, I am trying to stay open to the one I think of as the Creator Spirit with respect to the unfolding of this incredibly grand adventure story. I'll keep in touch.

Hello,
The reason I live on a boat is to be able to move about the Puget Sound area freely as I
want. We can get away from cities quickly and into remote areas. Our boat is a very
unique barge type of houseboat, called a power scow. The bottom part of the boat is
made of "cast ferocement" 2 1/2" thick. There are three sections for the hull that are
bolted together, the front two are cast cement hulls, and the back section is made of
wood and fiberglass. The cast cement hulls are easy and inexpensive compared to all
other building mediums. They can be cast in many sizes. While they are not fast going
through the water, hereon Puget Sound, we can use the tides and winds to help us and
conserve fuel. Our boat has three levels forward and two and a half in the back, which
gives us about 1,200 sq. ft. of usable floor space. Those high sides are a great sails too.
LOL Pictures in the profile photo area.

Our 22 foot sailboat with 10 hp. motor are alongside, and 16 foot work skiff with a 40
hp. motor too. Besides 2- 8 foot sailing / rowing boats and 2 small kayaks. Along with a
couple cars and an old 4wd jeep.

Hi all,
I'm up in Whatcom County, in the Kendall area, just 6 miles from the border. Being senior in years, I may not be able to contribute a lot of physical labor any more, but I have a lot of knowledge to share: gardening, food preserving, existing on limited economic resources, etc. I moved up here 8 years ago from Arizona, and have an overwhelming sense that this is where I must be, even though away from my family. I'm a bit of a loner, but would welcome the opportunity to build "community" with others who are aware of the momentous changes upon us, and who care about others. My deep spirituality holds fear at a distance.
Sure look forward to knowing each of you a lot better as we work together to find out way through all of this.

P.S. I posted this same introduction to the "Washington" thread because I'm not sure which one to use. Should they be combined?

Then your job will be to sit and point!

As the old joke goes, it isn't enough to just hammer away.
Knowing WHERE to hammer is half the battle.

Greetings great lovers of the tall greens, crystal liquids and oh so sweet winds! My heart is bursting with love for all of you awakened neighbors. May we remain aware and at peace in the midst of trouble soon to be - happily harmonizing to the best of our abilities in a new paradigm of cosmic evolution.

My husband and I have many gifts to bring to the group. I am a healer - supporting the body/mind/soul connection with high vibrational energy, counseling and reflecting the light of a love so bright, it pales even the fullest moon. I facilitate group awakenings using the expressive arts (dance, drama, art, creative writing, and visualizations). I am also an empath and have the unique ability of connecting with and befriending anyone. I love working with youth and people in the midst of challenging life experiences.... So when the earth shifts reach their breaking point and people are just about to drown in a sea of chaos and confusion, I'll be able to calm them down and help them to connect with all that's sacred and divine within (and without)... I also have experience teaching kids. So once a spot of safety is established, I can help run the school.

My husband is a sculptor that is great with his hands. He can build a great number of things and has construction experience - furniture, decks, homes, fences, etc. He is also involved with martial arts and has the strength to help carry and move heavy things, and do all kinds of manual labor. He currently works as an animator making video games. He's a do-gooder who never hesitates to jump in and help where people are in need, and he's got an easy going nature, good sense of humor and is great with kids, animals and elders.

Looking forward to an exciting ride with y'all!

Love and peace to you,
Tara

Hello Friends!

It has been a while since I posted I have been very busy and continue to be through the end of October. However, I think its terrific that we are having our first get together. It is likely that I won't be able to attend in person but will be there in spirit. I shall post some photos of me so at least you will know my face!

The PNW thread is so uplifting. I have read many others and some of them are real downers...

I vote we link up with the vancouver island and vancouver crews and change the name to Cascadia crew. I can bob on down in a dory to visit Norval quicker than most here could gather. I wish I could go to the meet up, but damned if I 'ain't' wanted nor allowed in the US. I almost got the (now defunct) Cascadia 'movement' to meet in Robert's Creek but most of the 'mericans were afraid to cross BACK after attending a political event in Canuckistan....

well we could 'borrow' a non-metal kayak and try? I'm sure the Feds in the US aren't looking for a wooden kayak now are they? Gods snot whom knows anymore....we'll only take 10 LBs...

True, but that takes a heck of a lot of physical endurance. Couldn’t there be a tiny motor?

Their place of meeting looks great eh Lance? Vancouver Island has to get its Act together...although after the Election I'm feeling rather gloomy...too many !!?!? neo-Conservatives! Makes me feel like I want to move out of British Columbia!

We've got a camera, sound equipment and a professional to run it all!! Thank you, Trent.

Though we will continue to post as often as we can, there will be video on U-Tube and interviews to listen to when it is all over. I will also be posting photos for all to enjoy. I'm excited!

Peace of Mind,

There are a about a dozen of us "boaters" that are "aware" here in this marina and plan to leave the cities in a
few hours time. The idea is to meet up as far as practical from the cities to the North.
Most likely up around Orcas Island in the San Juans. Probably East Sound. Citizen Band
channel 10 or 17 (the truckers north - south bound channel.) VHF Marine Band 16.

I'm in the lonely boondocks of sparsely populated Eastern Oregon - Baker City. And I really can't afford the gas money to meet up with people. The cute little red car gets terrible gas mileage. It's 45 minutes to LaGrande, 1 hour to Ontario, 2 hours to Boise, and around 6 hours to Bend, Portland, Spokane, or Seattle.

And - I just noticed all the people putting your email address in this thread on the open forum where the spambots will troll and your spam mail will increase by megatons. I suppose they even have a bot now for when you spell it out: myemail at myisp dot com. But anyway I suggest using code or a throw away email address.
