There's a prediction that the solar eclipse on July 22 will trigger earthquakes from the combined gravitational pull of the moon and sun:

Jim Berkland was on Rense the other night talking about 7/22 and the new moon, and I think the rebroadcast is tonight, Sunday.

This will be the longest total solar eclipse of the century. He is expecting a major earthquake for the Pacific and extremely high tides.

Here is a recent July 13th clip from Coast to Coast AM with Jim Berkland: earthquake update VIDEO (3:51) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFJVncf85rw

Shoot, I don't see Jim Berkland on the rebroadcast for tonight on Rense. This is what's on:

N Korea Analysis

G8 Plans And Schemes

This is from Jim Berkland's website: http://www.syzygyjob.com/

PREDICTIONS FOR JUNE 20-27, 2009. Because of near-record tides I have 85% confidence in (1) One or more events of 3.5-6.5M within 140 miles of Mt. Diablo, and (2) within 140 miles of Los Angeles, and (3) with an epicenter naming Oregon or Washington. Also predicted: (4) a major quake of 7.0+M globally, probably within the Pacific Ring of Fire, where 80% of the largest earthquakes have been located.

I will need to keep checking youtube for the rebroadcast of that show on Rense that was Friday night.

Peace Out,

PaL

Interestingly, many people did not feel the earthquake at all and we are quite close living in Otago, two hours from Dunedin. It was a rolling one, like one was on the sea! You had to be still to feel it.

Cheers

Risk of Huge Pacific Ocean Tsunami on West Coast of America Greater Than Previously Thought

it could dwarf the great 1964 Alaskan earthquake, which triggered waves more than 40 feet high

A future earthquake off the coast of Alaska could unleash a devastating tsunami on ports and cities along the US Pacific coast, British scientists have warned.

Such an event could dwarf the great 1964 Alaskan earthquake, which triggered waves more than 40 feet high, research suggests.

Quake, Tsunami Potential High on U.S. West Coast

July 20, 2009
Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Scientists have underestimated the potential for a giant quake and tsunami that could swamp much the U.S. northwest and Canadian west coasts, British and U.S. researchers said on Monday.

Photo: The biggest boost in earthquake awareness in the United States occurred in the aftermath of the great Alaskan earthquake of 1964. This magnitude-9.2 earthquake killed 15 people in Alaska and spawned a tsunami that took more than 100 lives along the Pacific Coast from Alaska to California. Extreme tsunami damage occurred in Seward, Alaska. (USGS)

Geological evidence suggests there have been earthquakes in the past that were even stronger than a magnitude 9.2 quake -- the second-biggest ever recorded -- which caused a 42-foot-high (12-meter-high) tsunami in the Gulf of Alaska in 1964, they said.

Massive quake moves NZealand closer to Australia

by David Brooks – Wed Jul 22, 3:05 am ET

WELLINGTON (AFP) – A massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake last week has moved the south of New Zealand closer to Australia, scientists said Wednesday.

With the countries separated by the 2,250-kilometre-wide (1,400-mile-wide) Tasman Sea, the 30 centimetre (12 inch) closing of the gap in New Zealand's southwest won't make much difference.

But earthquake scientist Ken Gledhill of GNS Science said the shift illustrated the huge force of the tremor, the biggest in the world so far this year.

"Basically, New Zealand just got a little bit bigger is another way to think about it," he told AFP.
