Default Re: The Coconut Diet™ - Thyroid Health A Key to Weight Loss

what a combination!
far beyond the common knowledge of healthy additives.
and I'm just working on adding coconut oil to my diet.

I shopped for a muliti-vitamin that didn't have 'chromium'
and found that every manufacturer added it, but one.

what is the big deal with chromium? my system doesn't like it.

as for my coconut regimen, yesterday I crashed mid-day.
felt really spacey -- not good. so I'll give it a rest and see
what's what after a day or two.

any advice why this crashing thing is happening?
one day felt fine. the next day, same regimen, felt off balance
and very distracted and loopy.

I suggest the get your mineral from a natural source, because most of th ecomment supplements aren't realy natural and be a total useles for your body if not toxic.

For the coconut oil I suggest to take smaller quantities. if you don't feel well.

thanks for your knowledgeable opinions.

I appreciate that natural mineral sources are the way to go.
unfortunately, I am lazy. are there 'natural vitamins in a pill or powder?
the thought of buying and consuming lots of vegetables et al
is not a realistic regimen for me.

I'll try the lesser VCO dose idea tomorrow.

morning: a half bagel with peanut butter and apple butter, plus black coffee

lunch: an apple (preferably macintosh)

dinner: pasta/sauce with vegetables, 1/3 glass red wine

tv time: doritoes!, low fat ice cream

that's about it.

I got my bottle of MCT and took a teaspoon this morning after breakfast.
got some energy and after a couple hrs. a stale after taste, plus a pretty spacey feeling from it.
I'll try a tspn. of VCO this afternoon and see what happens.

funny, I haven't read anything about this 'spaciness' I been experiencing.
I've done a google with nothing on the woozy, off-kilter, A-D-D after effects I've been getting.
wonder what's what?

Okay- for one- you are eating mostly carbs (refined except for the fruit) that willl cause most to crash hard....coffee too- which stimulates and then your adrenals crash- if you centered your diet on vegetables with some protein and a bit of fruit and use the MCT with vegetables- I think you might notice a difference.

A couple of options:

Green SuperFood(veggies)

http://www.vitacost.com/Garden-of-Li...-Green-Formula

Organically sourced vitamins

http://www.vitacost.com/Peter-Gillha...-Life-Vitamins

And if cost is no object...

http://www.globalhealingcenter.com/l...l-intramax.php

I use all three of these, and think they are worth the
nutritional benefits.

thanks for the analysis and nutritional sources.

as for the diet, if I consumed mostly vegetables, I wouldn't need VCO or MCT

I tried a tspn of MCT. It was different from the VCO experience.

nice not to mess with melting VCO, but that could be the other benefit.
noticed a real oily/stale aftertaste that lingered all day. Started with an energy boost,
then descended to an off-balanced effect that last most of the day, into night.
This 'crash' wasn't as intense as coming off VCO, but not at all desirable.
If I try it again, I'll cut the dose to 1/2 tspn, but that seems like too little.

at lunch today, I'll try a 1/2 tspn of VCO and see if that carries my through the rest of the day well.

bottom line is, at my age, I need to be careful not to tax my system/heart. so easy does it moving forward.

I am interested in the supplement suggestions and will investigate and try one of them.

thanks again for all the help. jimmer

ps: I looked at "Peter Gillham Natural Vitality® Liquid Organic Life Vitamins" and found that it contains lots of Chromium.
from past experiences, my system does not like Chromium. I get an aggressive, agitated bad feeling from it.
why is Chromium included in most vitamin supplements?
didn't it start as a fitness/body building supplement?
lots of doctors warn against high Chromium dietary supplements.
anyone know what the deal is? (sorry, this is off-topic.)
