UK Road Signs *** What do they mean? *** Take the Test

I wonder what percent of those in the survey, that didn't recognize the road signs, were immigrants?

In the US we are dealing with lingual issues when it comes to those who chose not to learn English and yet somehow manage to pass driving tests and acquire licenses without being able to read road signs.

Maybe we all just need a refresher course from time to time.

I assume these are meant to be somewhat international signs???

Of course I thought I would whiz right through the quiz, although I am not familiar with UK signs. I had confidence my abstract mind would figure out the answers, especially with only three choices.

An alarming number of drivers do not know the meaning of common road signs critical to ensuring road safety, according to research by Direct Line and Brake, the national road safety charity.

Two thirds (67%) of motorists were unable to identify a zebra crossing sign while almost half (45%) were stumped by the "No motor vehicles" warning. Almost one in six drivers didn't know the "national speed limit" sign, suggesting many motorists do not know how fast they should be going. Only 12% of the 2,000 motorists surveyed knew the meaning of all eight signs they were shown.

Must be that exploding car.

it is just staggering what people don't know these days.
Watched that tv-quiz yesterday in Holland.
They didn't regcognize photo's of the Clintons, Bill Gate, world population was estimated at 500 trillion; amazing.
