Israel has violated a three-hour truce declared to allow the passage of humanitarian aid, and has resumed attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Israeli troops violated the truce on Friday and continued their attacks on the coastal sliver.

The cities of Jabaliya and Beit Lahiya in the north and the Zeitun neighborhood of Gaza City came under Israeli tank fire, witnesses said on Friday.

Israel has unleashed fresh attacks on Gaza.
Hamas fighters have reportedly fired rockets into Israeli cities of Kerem Shalom and Ashdood as Tel Aviv unleashes fresh attacks on Gaza.

The Israeli imposed war on Gaza has so far failed to put an end to Hamas' rocket attacks - a pretext Israel initially used to launcher the military campaign.

Hamas had earlier said that the movement had enough rockets and mortar shells to continue firing deep into Israeli territory for weeks.

Israel launched Operation Cast Lead on December 27 and has so far killed 783 Palestinians leaving at least 3,050 other wounded.

Hamas has announced that its al-Qassam grad rockets have hit a major Israeli airbase near Tel Aviv, which is believed to house nuclear arms.

Tel Nof, which is one of Israel's three main air bases, has been hit by Palestinian missiles, the al-Aqsa TV station, affiliated with Hamas, reported on Friday.

The air base is situated just 27 kilometers away from Tel Aviv on the outskirts of Rehovot, an Israeli city to the south of the capital.

Tel Nof is home top a number of Israeli fighter and helicopter squadrons as well as several special military units. Israel allegedly stores its nuclear weapons in and around the base.

The close distance between Tel Aviv and the base shows just how successful Hamas has been in launching its home-made rockets deeper into Israel than ever before.

The home-made Palestinian rockets spread widespread panic among Israelis.

Tel Aviv officials had initially said that they seek to stop rocket fire into Israel by attacking the Palestinian enclave.

The reported attack comes after Israel launched more deadly raids in Gaza on the 14th day of its military operation in the coastal strip, raising the number of Palestinians killed to almost 800.

The Israeli raids came after the UN passed a binding resolution, calling for an immediate and durable cease-fire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces and the opening of all border crossings to the Gaza Strip.

Israeli forces have targeted the office of Press TV and the Iranian Arab-language satellite channel al-Alam in the Gaza Strip.

There were two people wounded in the Israeli attack, a Press TV correspondent said Friday, adding that Press TV's sister channel, Al-Alam, which was also based in the building has been affected by the attack.

According to our correspondent Hamoudi Gharib, the building was targeted even though the staff had kept light projectors working on the roof of the building 24 hours a day to mark the building.

The journalists working in the building had been given safety assurances that the building would not be targeted by mistake, after its coordinates were handed to organizations responsible for the journalist safety, including the UN.

The Press TV team said they received no warnings ahead of the Israeli strike, which only targeted journalists and news crew who were in the building.

The team's equipment, including satellite transmission devices installed on the roof, have been damaged.

Press TV has been one of the few news networks which has provided extensive coverage of the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip, which has claimed the lives of some 783 Palestinians.

Actually I do not think they are over-reacting. I think it is intentional, and calculated. For all everyone blathers on about the Israelis losing to Hezbollah awhile back, They sure were quick to deny responsibility in the firing of those rockets from Lebanon. Face it, the Israelis smacked them hard in that conflict. And they are doing the same to Hamas now.

Of course they are ignoring truces, it makes sense. They can blame it on "mistakes", "miscommunications", or even "rogue elements" in their own forces. What it does is shut down any aid coming into the area. And if you make life miserable enough for any group of people. They will turn on each other to survive. That is a fact. The Gaza Strip was already heavily, heavily dependent on aid being trucked in. Why waste your own resources when you can get the enemy to start tearing itself apart? People can beat their chests about right, and wrong. We can debate honorable, and despicable until the world ends. This is not about over-reaction. Any military force in the world (including the USA, the United Kingdom, Russia, China, etc.) would use somewhat similiar tactics in the same situation.
