Re: How many of you are familiar with the Avalon Cult?
"the modern New Age Movement has a clear definitive agenda which has been agreed upon by their constituents"
News to me and my friends? If the disagreements surfacing just on this forum are any indication Mr. Professor I suggest your conclusion is seriously misinformed! Got to watch out for those wacky Christian zealots! p.s. And Glastonbury is one of the most wonderful powerful power spots on the planet. I first visited there around the age of 10 and felt very powerful energy around the Tor. Years later after a trip to the temples of Egypt, arriving back in the U.K. I could initially only handle being back in the 20th century by heading down to ancient Glastonbury. |

You noted that Lucifer And Jesus are both morning stars.
You wouldn't happen to be implying that they are brothers would you..... ......or are you implying that they are one in the same?.... .....How far down the rabbit hole have you dared to travel? |

In any case .... "Lucifer" means "morning star", so it should not be used to describe Satan. Jesus is The Morning Star. Satan tries to look like Jesus and supplant Him sometime in the future, perhaps very near future, even claming to be Him. But let us understand the deception and that the true "Morning Star" told us this in advance through His Apostles and Prophets; and told us to "watch out" http://www.acts17-11.com/dialogs_morningstar.html Jesus Christ himself is called the morning star in Rev. 22:16 where he says: "I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star." The niv and nasb make it possible to identify Satan and Jesus Christ as one and the same persons. This is what Lucifer's ultimate game plan is, and the new versions have taken a giant step forward in advancing Satan's deception. http://blessedquietness.com/journal/...e/mornstar.htm Anyroads, I am not a theologian, and I do not want to find out how much deeper that hole is by chasing the rabbit any further! |

Re: How many of you are familiar with the Avalon Cult?
fair enough. all of what i know about the new age movement was based upon the beleifs of the people in know who claim to be a part of it. they feel it's more about spiruality then reilgion. there is a big difference between the two. but i'll admit, my assumption could be waaay off. like i said, i've never actually done a google search about it

Re: How many of you are familiar with the Avalon Cult?
Avalon (probably from the Welsh word afal, meaning apple; see Etymology below) is a legendary island featured in the Arthurian legend, famous for its beautiful apples. It first appears in Geoffrey of Monmouth's 1136 pseudohistorical account Historia Regum Britanniae ("The History of the Kings of Britain") as the place where King Arthur's sword Caliburn (Excalibur) was forged and later where Arthur is taken to recover from his wounds after the Battle of Camlann. As an "Isle of the Blessed" Avalon has parallels elsewhere in Indo-European mythology, in particular the Irish Tír na nÓg and the Greek Hesperides, also noted for its apples. Avalon was associated from an early date with immortal beings such as Morgan le Fay.
