Inspirational Artists/Musicians
There has probably been other threads about this subject, but I thought it would be a good idea for people to be able to share their personal preferences in the music/art department. I'm keen to learn about new age music and who people would suggest listening to.
I also think it's good to share certain bands who have been, say, talking about these things for a long time. here's some suggestions from me: Electric Wizard - very psychedelic, occult band, some people may find their lyrics quite negative but in my opinion they are a great escape from everyday drudgery.... anger is an energy Dead Meadow - I've never met anybody who cannot appreciate their music, and in my opinion their lyrics are one of a kind. DJ Muggs Vs Sick Jacken - I recently got the new album made by these two, at first I was rather skeptical because I noticed how many songs had focused on nwo/reptilians/2012/, was thinking that maybe it was just them being opportunitists.. but after a listen they generally know about these subjects and are using hip-hop to wake even more people up. Feel free to delete this thread if you feel it isn't relevant, I just thought it'd be interesting. |

Re: Inspirational Artists/Musicians
I haven't listened to much of other peoples music etc for years. But here's a link to something I put together myself a couple of years ago. It's not new-age music but it's topical for the state of the age:

Re: Inspirational Artists/Musicians
totally agree with system of a down, bob marley and the like definatly help with the positive vibes, but there's something else i've found with bob marley these past few years.
I was enjoying a psychedelic experience with the music of bob marley a while back, and this may just be me, but so much of his lyrics were incredibley relevant to things going on these days, eerily, I couldn't quote any right now exactly but it would be interesting to see if others had noticed this with bob marley. |

Anything by Therion. Swedish band. Very good mix of classical music and metal. Insightful esoteric lyrics. The double album Lemuria/ Sirius B is excellent.

I was introduced to Bob Marley when I was about 15 and growing up in South Africa. His politics really woke me up and resonated with me deeply. His music has been a part of my life through the good and the bad - and it always seems topical and uplifting. Bob is one of my gods Michael Franti along with Spearhead and/or the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy have some pretty powerful lyrics on a political and spiritual level. And now to have a listen to the above suggestions..... |
