Default TV in todays world

It is getting cold here at the beach, so no more hanging outside and having fun.So i have been watching a little TV, 1st thing i see on a regular channel, in the middle of the day is Zack and Miri Make a Porno. Think of how many kids see this and are gonna want to go and try to make one!

Then i see Maury Povich, it's kind of bitter sweet, maybe showing all these cheaters and girls that have had 9 guys on the show and still don't know who the baby's daddy is, will keep some teenagers in line.

Then i hit the cable channels. My dog has 2 shows that he will sit and watch the whole 30 min and will not move, the channel is Animal Planet. AP has started to show some animal cop show's, that they go and rescue abused animals, which is good, but seeing all these scrawny animals, and missing limbs, almost freezing to death in michigan is depressing as hell, keep that **** off the TV so kids don't see it.

Then i ran across a channel where i see a guy talking all calm in the bush's and you don't see anything but a deer, oh look how pretty it is they say, then BAM, they shoot it, go up to it, turn its neck and cut it, all this in the middle of the day.

MTV is a joke now days, VH1 is just as bad, lets not even get into Fox News, looks like ill stick to Food Network, History Channel, and Bruno's Animal Planet Shows.

I am a Bail Bondsman and don't see this much ****. What do you guys and girls think of the Tube these days ?

Too funny but true!, I don't watch tv anymore, I get the news off the computer, but when I did watch, the Food Channel and Discovery was about it.

No Intelligent Life There!

We watch movies.
News comes over the Web.

We haven't watched regular TV since 1987.

Besides, it hurts the brain. It wants you to stop.

I'm a TV guy. Faves are Doctor Who (and respective spin-offs Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures), Top Gear, Heroes, and Lost.

I posted this in a tv thread awhile ago but I'll copy and paste it here.

I suppose I'm in the minority here. I live w/ roommates who are good guys, but not quite on the same wavelength as I am. I've been working w/ them for awhile, but as I'm sure many of you know, t.v. indeed makes it harder to convey foreign ideas.

In the mean time though, while watching something like the daily show or colbert report or olberman w/ the roommates, I can expand upon the areas that fall short or give my opinion on something that I know is patently false. Also, I find it worthwhile to see what the PTB are feeding the masses. I realise that it can be harmful, but in order to counter an argument, you must first be aware of the substance of the argument.

As an example, right now I am watching PBS's Frontline synpopsis of the Obama and McCain campaigns since their inception. PBS, of course will not reveal anything occult concerning the candidates, but it is worth investigating what the average voter considers, "the differences between these men". After watching this program, I can more adeptly address and contrast the "facts" presented, w/ someone else who has seen the same program and takes what has been said as fact.

p.s. I can't stand to watch those animal cop shows either.
It makes me sick to see the way some people treat their pets. God help me if I ever have the chance to confront some of the people I've seen on the animal cops shows.
