When you love someone, you do not love them all the time, in exactly the same way, from moment to moment. It is an impossibility. It is even a lie to pretend to. And yet, this is exactly what most of us demand. We have so little faith in the ebb and flow of life, of love, of relationships. We leap at the flow of time and resist in terror its ebb. We are afraid it will never return. We insist on permanency, on duration, on continuity; when the only continuity possible in life, as in love, is in growth, in fluidity – in freedom. The only real security is not in owning or possessing, not in demanding or expecting, not in hoping, even. Security in a relationship lies neither in looking back to what it was, nor forward to what it might be, but living in the present and accepting it as it is now. For relationships, too, must be like islands. One must accept them for what they are here and now, within their limits – islands surrounded and interrupted by the sea, continuously visited and abandoned by the tides. One must accept the serenity of the winged life, of ebb and flow, of intermittency.

Love is a wave that we ride, on this ocean of life
Through the ebbs and flow, through the highs and lows
Through joy and shame, through smiles and pain
Soul sails upon its breath, the waters reflect self.

Home to old and new, each light for the other
Each sound as one, each and every to become
In the worlds of woman and in the worlds of man
The unspeakable truth, life's ocean inside me and inside you.

May blessing be

Someone taught you how to love,
and probably didn't know it.
And in return, with every day,
It's now your turn to show it.

When you love, you give a gift,
And when you're gone it stays
To be passed on by the ones you loved
To make some one else's day.

So remember someone who loved you,
And show how much you care,
By sharing all the love they gave
With people everywhere.

When you give away your love,
That doesn't mean it's gone.
Love will last forever,
so open YOUR heart...
and pass it on.

That was easy
It was'nt about giving you boundaries which I had determined
for you. But to give you the room to change,
room to grow, room to be yourself...
and finally realize You are Love itself.

True love has no object. Many speak of their unconditional love for another. Unconditional love is the experience of being; there is no "I" and "other," and anyone or anything it touches is experienced in love. You cannot unconditionally love someone. You can only be unconditional love. It is not a dualistic emotion. It is a sense of oneness with all that is. The experience of love arises when we surrender our separateness into the universal. It is a feeling of unity. You don't love another, you are another.

WHAT'S LOVE mudra, it's....

BURNT BISCUITS.............

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said: " Honey, I love burned biscuits."

Later that night, I went to kiss Dad good night, and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, " Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone....! "

You know, life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, except flying and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else does...

What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults - and choosing to celebrate each others differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting, relationship.

And that's my thought for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because... In the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!

We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, 'Understanding' is the base, the very Foundation of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or even friendships !

"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in your own pocket. "

God Bless You..... Now, and forever...

So.... " Please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burnt one will do just fine... "
And, PLEASE pass this along to someone who has enriched your life... I just did...

Thank you, again, mudra... What a nice thread...

Trooly,

Tango

I would take anyone's burnt biscuits really ..the good
the bad ...it's hard to tell the difference between both
once you look, feel and see through your heart .
Creation is so manyfold .. What is amazing really is that
the moment you come to see it as whole .. it makes you whole too

Childhood and Poetry
by: Pablo Neruda, The Book of Virtues

One time, investigating in the backyard of our house in Temuco the tiny objects and minuscule beings of my world, I came upon a hole in one of the boards of the fence. I looked through the hole and saw a landscape like that behind our house, uncared for, and wild. I moved back a few steps, because I sensed vaguely that something was about to happen. All of a sudden a hand appeared, a tiny hand of a boy about my own age. By the time I came close again, the hand was gone, and in its place there was a marvelous white sheep.

The sheep's wool was faded. Its wheels had escaped. All of this only made it more authentic. I had never seen such a wonderful sheep. I looked back through the hole but the boy had disappeared. I went into the house and brought out a treasure of my own: a pinecone, opened, full of odor and resin, which I adored. I set it down in the same spot and went off with the sheep.

I never saw either the hand or the boy again. And I have never again seen a sheep like that either. The toy I lost finally in a fire. But even now, in 1954, almost fifty years old, whenever I pass a toy shop, I look furtively into the window, but it's no use. They don't make sheep like that anymore.

I have been a lucky man. To feel the intimacy of brothers is a marvelous thing in life. To feel the love of people whom we love is a fire that feeds our life. But to feel the affection that comes from those whom we do not know, from those unknown to us, who are watching over our sleep and solitude, over our dangers and our weaknesses, that is something still greater and more beautiful because it widens out the boundaries of our being, and unites all living things.

That exchange brought home to me for the first time a precious idea: that all of humanity is somehow together. That experience came to me again much later; this time it stood out strikingly against a background of trouble and persecution.

It won't surprise you then that I attempted to give something resiny, earthlike, and fragrant in exchange for human brotherhood. Just as I once left the pinecone by the fence, I have since left my words on the door of so many people who were unknown to me, people in prison, or hunted, or alone.

That is the great lesson I learned in my childhood, in the backyard of a lonely house. Maybe it was nothing but a game two boys played who didn't know each other and wanted to pass to the other some good things of life. Yet maybe this small and mysterious exchange of gifts remained inside me also, deep and indestructible, giving my poetry light.

Love is not the emotional and physical kind that most people know it as.
Love is not a fluctuating unstable negative emotion.
Love is not greed, possession, owning, attachment, neediness, desire, infatuation, lust, craving, addiction, jealousy, anger, control, blame, guilt, or judgmentalism.
These are all selfish attributes, so it's not really love at all.
That which is selfish can't be love because love is selfless.
True happiness will never form in a relationship based on those things.
You cannot have or own another person when we are all free.

Love is good intent. Love is service. Love is selfless. Love is devotion.
Love is respect. Love is kindness. Love is compassion. Love is good will.
Love is forgiveness. Love is acceptance. Love is tolerance. Love is neutrality.
Love is unconditional. Love is non-selective. Love is all-encompassing.
Love is pure. Love is Divine. Love is Eternal.

Love is a way of being in the world.
It's the full blown radical forgiveness and acceptance of absolutely everything, as it is right now in this very moment, always.

Love is an INFINITE resource.
It cannot be exhausted or used up.
The more you give, the more you are able to give.
The more you love, the more you can, and everybody has to start with where they are right now.

Love should not be given because you expect something in return.
It is done out of selflessness (the absence of self).
It's not about getting. It's about giving with no thought of reward.
Not even a "thank you" should be needed or expected because that's neediness.
"It is more blessed to give than to receive."
Love for the sake of loving.

Neediness often pushes other people away.
Relationships "fail" because people are searching outwardly for happiness and love.
Relationships fail to work because we're trying to get, gain and obtain love.
We are meant to share and give the happiness and love that we ALREADY ARE, with others.
In doing so, it grows constantly and continuously within the one who is giving and sharing it.
Love is then experienced by being it yourself.
Love is experienced from within, which means the source of it is WITHIN, when it's chosen.
Love is not an outside source. It's already inside you.
You make love happen to yourself by loving others and by being love yourself.

We give and share the happiness and love that we are by simply BEING it.
When we choose to be it, it's automatically being shared with others.
Doesn't the energy of a room suddenly change when a particular person enters it?
"Everything is energy." It doesn't require any "doing". Just be love/peace.
In becoming a better person yourself (losing the selfish self), you will be helping all others (and yourself) in turn.

There is no longer a "special" individual to love when all is loved equally and unconditionally.
When all is equal nobody is "more important" than anybody else.
Real Love is all-encompassing.
It's not selective, choosy, picky, fussy, judgemental, or discriminatory.
Real love, when unobstructed by false individual opinions, beliefs, perceptions, thought processes and emotionalism is unconditional and non-selective, no matter what.
No matter what.

That's why this is love that actually works!
And that's the difference between Divine Love and emotional "love".
