For anyone that's interested here's a link to the Samye Ling Tibetan Monastry which was the first Tibetan Buddhist Centre to be established in the West in 1967.
http://www.samyeling.org/index.php?m...b&tid=16&pid=1 I'm very fortunate to live near Samye Ling and often go there. It started off from a farmhouse and over the years has grown considerably. Phase II of the Samye project is currently underway. Phase II is the all important educational wing of Kagyu Samye Ling which, together with the existing temple and facilities, will complete the Samye Project as a fully equipped Monastery and Centre for the preservation and practice of Tibetan Buddhism for the benefit of all beings. It will feature the following facilities: Buddhist College affiliated with a prestigious UK university Fully equipped lecture hall Museum to house precious relics and artefacts Tibetan Buddhist library English multi-faith library Audio visual department Seminar rooms Accommodation for lay and monastic students |
