Scientists have discovered an enormous void inside the Great Pyramid of Giza, prompting speculation that we may not yet know all the secrets of the ancient Egyptians.

Constructed more than 4,500 years ago, the pyramid is believed to have been built as a tomb for the pharaoh Khufu, also known as Cheops.

It is one of three pyramids at the Giza complex on the outskirts of Cairo and is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World that remains standing.

Using a technique called muography, researchers have been analysing changes in the density of the rock inside the pyramid.

I read this article this morning and it's amazing using muons to detect voids deep underground. I wonder if the tech is cheap enough and easy enough to engineer something for a consumer to use? Imagine some of the things that might be discovered?

The muon (/ˈmjuːɒn/; from the Greek letter mu (μ) used to represent it) is an elementary particle similar to the electron, with an electric charge of −1 e and a spin of 12, but with a much greater mass. It is classified as a lepton.

This may be a more definitive account. (Note: I copied it verbatim, focusing on the interesting new discovery. Of course, it's certainly older than a mere 4,500 years, and it was never anyone's tomb.)

Mysterious Void Discovered in Egypt's Great Pyramid

The cavity is the first major inner structure discovered in the pyramid since the 1800s.

Egypt’s Great Pyramid of Giza (https://www.nationalgeographic.com/archaeology-and-history/archaeology/giza-pyramids/)—one of the wonders of the ancient world, and a dazzling feat of architectural genius—contains a hidden void at least a hundred feet long, scientists announced on Thursday.

The space’s dimensions resemble those of the pyramid’s Grand Gallery, the 153-foot-long, 26-foot-tall corridor that leads to the burial chamber of Khufu, the pharaoh for whom the pyramid was built.

However, it remains unclear what lies within the space, what purpose it served, or if it’s one or multiple spaces.

The void is the first large inner structure discovered within the 4,500-year-old pyramid since the 1800s—a find made possible by recent advances in high-energy particle physics. The results were published in the journal Nature (https://www.nature.com/articles/doi:10.1038/nature24647).

“This is definitely the discovery of the century,” says archaeologist and Egyptologist Yukinori Kawae (https://www.nationalgeographic.org/explorers-festival/2016/emerging-explorers/yukinori-kawae/), a National Geographic Emerging Explorer. “There have been many hypotheses about the pyramid, but no one even imagined that such a big void is located above the Grand Gallery.”

BUILT TO LAST

The findings mark the latest in a millennia-long quest to understand the Great Pyramid of Giza, long an object of mystery and intrigue.

The pyramid was built some 4,500 years ago during the Fourth Dynasty of ancient Egypt’s Old Kingdom. At that time, Egypt was a powerful, highly centralized monarchy, wealthy from trade and Nile-nourished agriculture.

The Great Pyramid is arguably the ultimate expression of that power. The pharaoh Khufu, who reigned from 2509 to 2483 B.C., built for himself a pyramid whose base spreads across more than 13 acres and originally towered more than 146 feet tall. The monument consists of about 2.3 million limestone blocks, which had to be quarried, transported, cut to size, and moved into place. (Read more about the extraordinary Pyramids of Giza (https://www.nationalgeographic.com/archaeology-and-history/magazine/2017/01-02/egypt-great-pyramids-giza-plateau/).)

“These sorts of pyramids are the major product, so to speak, of the kings who built them,” says Kate Spence (https://www.arch.cam.ac.uk/directory/kes1004), a University of Cambridge archaeologist who studies ancient Egypt. “An awful lot of Egyptian society is probably geared toward building pyramids at this particular time.”

Ever since, the Great Pyramid has drawn in the curious; today, tourists enter the pyramid through a tunnel created in the ninth century A.D. The National Geographic Society (https://www.nationalgeographic.org/) has helped conduct two explorations of the pyramid, including a 2002 exploration (https://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2002/09/0910_020913_egypt_1.html) of the “air shafts” extending out one of the pyramid’s three chambers.

SEEING THE INVISIBLE

The new discovery comes out of the ScanPyramids project (http://www.scanpyramids.org/), an international mission under the authority of Egypt’s Ministry of Antiquities. Launched in October 2015, the project aims to non-invasively peer into Egypt’s largest pyramids using a battery of technologies.

Previously, ScanPyramids had announced the detection of some intriguing voids and anomalies, which didn’t come necessarily as a surprise. Spence says that the pyramids’ interiors are far more pockmarked and rubbly than people usually imagine.

But the new void definitely came as a surprise—and arguably marks the biggest-ever discovery yielded by muon radiography, an imaging technique first demonstrated in Giza’s pyramids (http://lappweb.in2p3.fr/%7Echefdevi/Work_LAPP/Arche/alvarez_70.pdf).

“It’s a striking discovery,” says Chris Morris (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=quL3Pj0AAAAJ&hl=en), a physicist at Los Alamos National Laboratory and expert on muon imaging techniques. “This makes another muon radiographer jealous, I’m jealous. These guys have discovered a remarkable thing.”

The technique, which has been used to peer through cathedral walls, Mayan pyramids, and even volcanoes, relies on the natural drizzle of subatomic particles called muons (http://www.hep.vanderbilt.edu/%7Ewebstems/qnweb/qnpptr/What_is_a_Muon.pdf).

These particles shower Earth all the time, flung off when cosmic rays—high-energy particles racing through our galaxy—collide with Earth’s upper atmosphere. (If you’re reading this story on your smartphone, six muons will have harmlessly passed through this screen by the time you finish this sentence.)

While we can’t see muons with the naked eye, scientists can spot them with special films and detectors that trace their 3-D paths. Since muons pass more easily through empty space than through solid materials, arranging multiple muon detectors in and around a structure lets scientists map the structure’s solid and empty parts.

“What’s so delightful is that [muons] are like Goldilocks: They lose enough [energy] to detect them but not so much that they just get absorbed in the target,” says University of Texas at Austin particle physicist Roy Schwitters (https://web2.ph.utexas.edu/%7Eschwitte/Schwitters.htm), who uses muons to study Belize’s Mayan pyramids (http://www.hep.utexas.edu/mayamuon/). “They’re really a fabulous treat from nature.”

In the Great Pyramid’s case, a team led by Nagoya University physicist Kunihiro Morishima (https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C9&q=kunihiro+morishima&btnG=) placed muon detectors inside the pyramid starting in December 2015, letting them collect data for months.

Morishima’s first results came in March 2016—and to researchers’ surprise, they suggested that a region deep in the pyramid’s interior let many more muons through than they had been expecting. These “excess” muons seemed to trace a 100-foot-long cavity with a cross-section resembling the Grand Gallery.

Two additional teams from KEK, a Japanese particle-physics research group, and CEA (http://www.cea.fr/), France’s Atomic Energy Commission, worked from August 2016 to July 2017 to confirm Morishima’s work. Each team used a different method for spotting muons.

In each experiment, the researchers saw a signal for the void that achieved at least a five-sigma level of statistical significance, which means that there’s less than a one-in-a-million chance that any one experiment was a fluke. This same level of evidence is required when discovering new subatomic particles like the Higgs boson (https://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2012/07/120704-god-particle-higgs-boson-new-cern-science/).

BIG VOID, BIGGER QUESTIONS

The seemingly empty region, which the researchers neutrally call “the void,” is at least a hundred feet long. Its purpose remains unclear; researchers are cautiously avoiding the word “chamber” for the time being.

“We don’t know for the moment if it’s horizontal or inclined, [or] if it is made from one structure or several successive structures,” said study coauthor Mehdi Tayoubi, president and cofounder of the Heritage Innovation Presentation (HIP) Institute (http://www.hip.institute/), in a press briefing. “What we do know is that this void is there, that it is impressive, [and] that it was not expected by any kind of theory.”

Tayoubi and his colleagues stress that they don’t know what the void is—but already, Egyptologists have some initial ideas for what it might be.

Spence, the Cambridge archaeologist, says that the void may be a leftover from the Great Pyramid’s construction. She points out that massive blocks weighing tens of tons form the roof of the chambers above the King’s Chamber, the central room where Khufu was laid to rest.

Since the void aligns with the Great Pyramid’s upper chambers, which were put there to relieve pressure on the King’s Chamber below, Spence suggests that the void may have been an internal ramp used to move the massive roof blocks into place. As construction continued, she says, this ramp could have been left empty or loosely backfilled.

“It’s the position of [the void] that to me makes this interpretation the most likely,” says Spence. “It’s too well placed for getting blocks into place up there.”

Salima Ikram (http://nelc.yale.edu/people/salima-ikram), an Egyptologist at the American University in Cairo, says that the void’s location directly above the Grand Gallery might imply its involvement in that corridor’s construction. That said, she wryly suggests taking current interpretations with a grain of salt.

“I don’t think it’s ever too early to speculate, but you might be widely wrong,” she says.

Time will tell whether these or other ideas about the void’s purpose pan out. Tayoubi and other ScanPyramids collaborators say that work is only beginning.

And to those fantasizing about personally exploring the void, a word of caution. No known corridors connect to the space, and researchers and outside experts alike stress that there are no future plans to drill into the void. Instead, they say that in the near-term, they will do whatever they can to peer into the space non-invasively.

“There’s lots of heavy, thick rock, and by drilling something, you don’t know how you will affect the entire thing,” says Ikram. “If there’s something behind the Mona Lisa, would you want to wipe her clean and see what’s behind her? You really have to preserve the integrity of the monument.”

the great pyramids simply have to pre-date the Egyptian civilization and contrary to the info we've been bombarded with there has been NO phsyical proof found WHATSOEVER that the pyramids where ever used as burial tombs; King's/Queen's chambers, King's sarcophogas, etc., are all false labelings (we have a lot of those out there)-

please read Dr. Joseph Farrell's "Giza Death Star" trilogy plus the works/books of archeologist Graham Hancock, especially Hancocks's "Finger Prints of the Gods"/"Magicians of the Gods" for more enlightenment on this subject-

the Great Pyramids were not burial tombs- they served a higher purpose-

In the vid on the BBC article below they say Zahi Hawass is back which is a
bit worrying as he is the pot calling the kettle black.....I did not realise he was
back in the thick of it , which instantly makes me think if anything out of the
ordinary is found he would veto its disclosure ........Just a thought.

Zahi Hawass Storms out of Debate with Graham Hancock before it Begins

For more than a year the encounter that took place at the Mena House Hotel, Giza
Egypt, on 22 April 2015 between famed Egyptologist Dr Zahi Hawass and
controversial alternative historian Graham Hancock, had been billed as"the first
open debate between the representatives of two completely different versions of
history." On the night of the event, however, as Graham Hancock was focussing his
slides prior to giving his opening presentation, and before most of the audience had
even entered the room, Dr Hawass saw that one slide contained a photograph of
Hancock’s colleague Robert Bauval, originator of the Orion correlation theory with
whom Dr Hawass has had disagreements for many years. Dr Hawass immediately
became furiously angry and began to shout at Hancock and at Hancock’s wife
Santha (Santha is wearing the white dress in the video). Hawass demanded that
Hancock censor his talk to remove all references to Robert Bauval and the Orion
correlation theory. When Hancock explained that the alternative view of history that
he was on stage to represent could not exclude the Orion correlation and therefore
could not exclude Robert Bauval, Dr Hawass, again shouting, marched out of the
debating room. One member of the audience who was present managed to record
part of Dr Hawass’s meltdown which is the subject of this video.

Meanwhile, as the audience began to arrive, frantic negotiations took place off
stage between the conference organisers and Dr Hawass. Finally Dr Hawass agreed
to return and give his talk and answer questions from the audience, but he refused
absolutely to hear or see Hancock’s talk, or to engage in any debate with Hancock.
Hancock therefore gave his talk to the audience without Dr Hawass present (Dr
Hawass sat in a room outside the conference hall while Hancock spoke).

When Hancock had finished he answered questions from the audience. Then Dr
Hawass entered, gave his talk, answered questions from the audience and left.
During Dr Hawass’s Q&A he was asked a question about the 11,600-year-old
megalithic site of Gobekli Tepe in Turkey and whether it had any impact on his
assessment of the disputed age of the megalithic Great Sphinx of Giza (which
Hancock and others have proposed may be of similar antiquity). Unfortunately it
appeared that Dr Hawass was completely ignorant of the existence or implications
of Gobekli Tepe, arguably the most important archaeological site in the world, so he
was unable to answer the question which he passed on to the moderator, Dr
Miroslav Barta, Head of the Czech Archaeological Institute in Cairo (who was by
prior agreement not supposed to intervene or take sides in the debate at all) and
whose knowledge of Gobekli Tepe was also clearly incomplete (for example Dr
Barta stated that Gobekli Tepe dates from the "late eleventh millennium BC through
the tenth millennium BC" whereas in fact the dates presently established for
Gobekli Tepe are from 9600 BC -- tenth millennium BC -- through 8200 BC -- ninth
millennium BC -- i.e. from 11,600 years ago to 10,200 years ago). Dr Barta also
used circular logic, arguing that Egyptian civilisation is thousands of years younger
than Gobekli Tepe and that therefore there could be no connection, whereas this is
exactly the matter in debate, and the point of the question asked, namely whether
the findings at Gobekli Tepe require open-minded consideration of the possibility
that the Great Sphinx and other megalithic structures at Giza, and with them the
origins of Egyptian civilisation, might in fact be much older than Egyptologists
presently maintain.

Hancock did at that point have a brief opportunity to stand up and give his own
point of view on Gobekli Tepe and on its implications for the age of the Sphinx and
that exchange can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/q4NnCAZcxHgrel=0

Mark Lehner: "A space that the builders left to protect the grand gallery?"

The mysteries of the pyramids have deepened with the discovery of what
appears to be a giant void within the Khufu, or Cheops, monument in Egypt.
It is not known why the cavity exists or indeed if it holds anything of value
because it is not obviously accessible. Japanese and French scientists made
the announcement after two years of study at the famous pyramid complex.
They have been using a technique called muography, which can sense density
changes inside large rock structures.

The Great Pyramid, or Khufu's Pyramid, was constructed during the reign of
Pharaoh Khufu between 2509 and 2483 BC.

At 140m (460 feet) in height, it is the largest of the Egyptian pyramids
located at Giza on the outskirts of Cairo.

this new technology is showing the chambers they already discovered in "non-public" excavations, so just locking the door doesnt help anymore to hide things.

its like a reminder from the past, everytime something is beeing discovered at the pyramids mr. hawass steps in and takes over, i remember in the 90s when they send in the little robot "upuaut", it took a very long time until hawass allowed this to happen and the rest was a phony show sponsored by discovery channel to please the masses.

mr. hawass was installed in egypt as a gatekeeper, would be interesting to research his family background.

Let us hope. My fear is, if the legacy of Atlantis exists somewhere at Giza (and I believe there is something there), that it won't be revealed to all mankind, but to a select (unworthy) few, who will proceed to classify it as top secret, never to see the light of day.

This is a very interesting little video, and while watching, I suddenly thought:

Wait a minute. How did the Caliph Al-Ma'mun (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Ma%27mun) know where to make his forced breach of the pyramid in 832 AD?

It's a good question, and I realized I had no idea of the answer.

So I found this. It seems wasn't the first person who's asked it. The answer proposed is clever, fits all the known facts, and rings very true.

It may not have been to get in. It may have been to get something OUT.

Tunnel Vision – The Mysterious Forced Entry of the Caliph into the Great Pyramid of Giza

http://www.ancient-origins.net/sites/default/files/field/image/pyramid-giza-entry-caliph.jpg

The classical account of the discovery of the upper chambers inside the Great Pyramid at Giza is well known. In the ninth century an Arab governor of Cairo, known as the Caliph al Ma’mun, decided to see for himself what lay inside the Great Pyramid. Because the entrance to the pyramid was concealed and its location unknown, his workers began to excavate a tunnel boldly through the casing and core blocks, with hammers and chisels. Fortuitously for the Caliph, their busy tunnelling shook the structure so much that the capstone fell off the end of the ascending passage. The resonating crash was heard by the workers, who dug in that direction and found not only the descending passage, but also the ascending passage and all the upper chambers in the pyramid. After thousands of years lying undisturbed deep inside the Great pyramid, the King’s and Queen’s chambers were finally open, and their treasure would soon belong to the Caliph.

But, as the story goes, there was no treasure. Apparently, this most ancient and precious of cupboards was completely bare. There were not only no burial artifacts, but no burial and no inscriptions either! The first thought to cross the mind of the Caliph must have been that the ‘tomb’ had been robbed. But how? Even if the secret ‘Well Shaft’ deep inside the pyramid had been found at this stage, it is hardly a suitable tunnel through which to strip a wealthy burial chamber totally bare. So where was all the loot? The Caliph and his excavators must have not only been very exasperated, after all their work, but mystified too.

http://www.ancient-origins.net/sites/default/files/great-pyramid-giza-cross-section.jpg
Fig 1 - A cross section through the Great pyramid, looking west and showing the internal chambers.

Mamun's tunnel

Are we so sure that this is what really happened, just over a millennia ago? Are we simply complacent because this is what has been taught to us by respected authorities for centuries? After all, it is much easier to simply agree with the established consensus of opinion, rather than thinking positively and laterally about the problem. Fortunately there are a few individuals out there who are more than happy to challenge a whole raft of classical myths; and so it was one day that a short e-mail arrived in Ralph Ellis’ in-box from a like-minded colleague, Mark Foster. Mark had an idea that had been bothering him for some time and he wanted to throw it around a bit. A quick read convinced Ralph that it was a highly original idea and definitely worth some further thought. After a few debates here and there, the following alternative scenario to the classical story developed, which is quite attractive in many respects. Yet this new explanation not only answers some irritating puzzles, it also poses some interesting and fundamental questions in return.

http://www.ancient-origins.net/sites/default/files/Caliph-al-Mamun-forced-entrance-great-pyramid-giza.jpg
Fig 2. Caliph al-Ma'mun's forced entrance into the Great Pyramid, which tracks directly towards the join between the ascending and descending passages.

As Mark explained, the basic problem with the classical explanation was that Ma'mun’s tunnel is rather too accurate for comfort: it tracks into the pyramid in a direct line for the all-important junction between the descending and ascending passageways. It is often cited that Ma'mun had to turn the tunnel sharp left to discover the original passageways, a fact that Ralph and Mark had in the back of their minds when they first visited the Great pyramid. But as Ralph and Mark ambled down the forced tunnel, they were both rather mystified, because the ‘left turn’ cited in the literature could not be found! Having backtracked the tunnel and tried again, that ‘left turn’ seemed to be no more than a slight widening of the tunnel at this point. In actual fact, the diggings were almost right on their target. So how did this happen, was Ma'mun just lucky and happened to pick the right spot? Or did he have an idea of where to go to?

http://www.ancient-origins.net/sites/default/files/entrance-to-the-Third-Pyramid-giza.jpg
Fig 3. The entrance to the Third Pyramid. Note how the granite blocks have been smoothed down around the entrance, which clearly marks its location.

There is also the problem of why Ma'mun was tunnelling inside the pyramid in the first place. Not only was the presence of the true entrance to the pyramid well known in classical times but people were also aware of the descending passage and the subterranean cavern at the very bottom of the pyramid. Strabo says of the original entrance to the Great pyramid:
The Great Pyramid, a little way up on one side, has a stone that may be taken out, which being raised up there is a sloping passage to the foundations.
(Quoted from Pyramids and Temples of Gizeh, Flinders Petrie.)
Strabo seems to be describing a door made of stone that is movable in some way, it can be moved upwards and outwards at the same time. This sounds like a hinged flap arrangement, with the hinge at the top of the stone. So was this description mere fantasy, or historical fact? We do not exactly know, but Strabo was obviously very familiar with the internal layout of the lower portions of the pyramid as he calls the lower cavern 'the foundations’, rather than using the more obvious term ‘chamber’. And Strabo is right, because the void below the pyramid is much more of a rough-hewn cavern than a smooth rectangular chamber.

And we know that the entrances to the Giza pyramids were known about in ancient times, because some of them are quite obvious. Take a look at the entrance to the Third Pyramid, where only the stones around the entrance have been smoothed down. Nobody could mistake the position of the entrance to this pyramid, and it is likely that the position of the entrance to the Great Pyramid was equally obvious. But it is important to note that the ascending passage in the Great Pyramid had been carefully concealed by the builders, so nobody in this early era knew about the Queen's and King's chambers high up inside this pyramid. The only chamber in the Great Pyramid that was open and known about in this era was the rough cavern at the very bottom of the pyramid, which Strabo accurately terms as 'the foundations'.

http://www.ancient-origins.net/sites/default/files/second-entrance-to-the-Vega-Pyramid.jpg
Fig 4. The second entrance to the Vega (Bent) Pyramid, which is located high up on the western face of this pyramid.

Sir Flinders Petrie backed this quotation up with a detailed study of the entrances to the Vega (Bent) pyramid, the only pyramid that still has the doorways around the entrance intact. He found that on either side of the entrance, there were holes cut opposite each other, about 9cm in diameter by 14cm deep. These holes were just inside the entrance and only 15cm from the top of the passage. Petrie, not unreasonably, interpreted these as being the hinge sockets to swing the stone door from.

Behind these sockets, the passageway contained more door sockets. These were smaller vertical sockets, for a very lightweight door, perhaps made of wood and presumably to keep out the wind-blown sand. The diagrams below were developed by Petrie, based on his analysis of the Vega (Bent) pyramid entrance. The hinged stone door is clearly marked as the large shaded stone. It needs to be this shape, with a long top extending backwards, in order to counterbalance the weight of the stone. The amount of counterbalance at the top would have been judiciously arranged by the architect, so that the force required to open the stone was within normal human limitations, say about 25kg of force.

Entrance door

http://www.ancient-origins.net/sites/default/files/great-pyramid-gize-entrance-diagram.jpg
Fig 5. Great pyramid’s entrance closed and opened

Here then, we have clear evidence that a movable entrance stone was fitted to the Great pyramid, and that the descending passage had been visited, perhaps many times, throughout recorded history. To gain entry to the pyramid, however, was still not easy. Unless there was a flight of steps cut into the now-missing casing blocks, a series of ladders would have to be erected against the side of the pyramid to reach the door. Presumably the entry stone must have had a handle of some sort on which to pull, and it would then need a prop of some nature to keep it open, while the new initiate scrambled into the thin hole and down the descending passage. A knotted rope would also have to be fed slowly down the length of the passage, to allow for an easy exit from the dark and foreboding depths of the sacred pyramid.

Undoubtedly, all of this frenetic activity would have scratched and pitted the entrance to the pyramid over the millennia in a very obvious fashion. Yet, it is generally accepted that the casing blocks must have been intact during the rule of Ma'mun, as the casing blocks appear to have been used by Sultan Hasan for the construction of his mosque in 1356.

http://www.ancient-origins.net/sites/default/files/great-pyramid-chambers-layout-giza.jpg
Fig 6. The layout of the chambers inside the Great Pyramid. Note the rough cavern right at the very base - the 'foundations', as Strabo described it.

The question is, therefore, why could Ma'mun not see these tell-tale marks and the original entrance to the pyramid that lay only a few meters above him? Why could he not see the handle on the door, or the scuff-marks on the smooth exterior? And knowledge of the location of the true entrance must still have been known in this era, so why could none of the locals be ‘persuaded’ to point it out? And this apparent invisibility of the original entrance could not have been because it was covered by sand, for instance, because Ma'mun’s tunnel lies below the level of the real entrance. So what was the problem? Why so was much effort expended in digging a new tunnel, when the original entrance lay just above it?

Some very important questions have been posed here – why could Ma'mun not see the real entrance to the Great Pyramid, when it was so well known and so close to his own entrance? And if Ma'mun did not know where the real entrance was, then why was his alternative tunnel so accurate? But if the original entrance was known about, then how did Ma'mun discover the ascending passage, which had been carefully concealed when the pyramid was first built? This is a bit of a catch-22.

Guide passage

Having considered this problem, Mark Foster had an idea that Ma’mun already knew about the original entrance and the descending passage. But he had constructed his new forced entry tunnel for another reason entirely – perhaps to get around the granite plug-blocks in the ascending passage, perhaps to get the necessary equipment into the right position to dig around those blocks. But if Ma'mun did not discover the ascending passage while he was creating his new forced tunnel, then how did he know it was there? The ascending passage was, after all, completely secret and unexplored at this time, so how did Ma'mun discover it?

Mark and Ralph both came to the same conclusions on this topic. The key to discovering the ascending passage lies outside the Great Pyramid, just to the east of the base and to the north of the causeway. Here, there lies what Petrie called the ‘trial passage’, which is simply a foreshortened replica of the Great pyramid’s descending passage and the all-important junction with the ascending passage.

As everything on the plateau has a purpose, why is this passageway there? Petrie thought it was a testbed that the architect had used to test out the procedures for laying out the internal passageways in the pyramid. This suggestion is a definite possibility. However, both Mark and Ralph think that this is not a ‘trial passage’, but instead a ‘guide passage’. What do they mean by 'guide passage'? Well, any interested party looking into this short passage system will clearly see the similarity and symmetry with the real descending passage inside the Great Pyramid; but a little further down this 'guide passage' they will come across a junction with another ascending passageway. The idea might just dawn on someone that the real pyramid passageways just might have exactly the same configuration.

Thus the ascending passage was quite possibly found by Ma'mun’s men entering the original entrance to the pyramid and tap-tapping down the ceiling of the descending passage, searching for that elusive ascending passageway that was hinted at by the ‘guide passageways’ outside. Success at last, the men found a concealed entrance! But as they were not able to penetrate the granite plugs that blocked this ascending shaft, a small tunnel was dug through the softer limestone core-blocks, around the granite plugs, and up into the ascending passage. Ma'mun was at last able to enter the Queen’s and King’s chambers and to plunder the priceless treasures of the Old Kingdom pharaohs. Ma'mun was about to become the richest man in the known world!

Excavations

This is all very well as scenarios go, readers might say, but if this is the case then why did Ma'mun go to the trouble of excavating his forced tunnel into the pyramid? Surely the classical explanation is correct, Ma’mun must have come in via this crude excavation into the pyramid. Perhaps, but here is where Ralph’s traditional lateral thinking comes into play. Tunnels are not only useful for getting in, but also for getting out....

It is highly probable that the real reason for constructing the forced tunnel was not to get into the pyramid, but rather to get something out. Whatever it was, though, it must have been small enough to go down the first part of the ascending passage, but it was too long to go around the bend between the descending and ascending passageways. The only alternative for these intrepid but highly destructive explorers, was to dig a tunnel directly outwards from the junction of the two passageways, completely bypassing the internal passageway constriction.

This proposal neatly explains all of the questions posed above. The original entrance had been known about and used. And the reason for the uncanny accuracy of the forced tunnel is now also obvious, because it was started from inside and dug outwards. It could be nothing other than 'accurate'. This may also explain why so much rubble was later found in the bottom of the descending passage, because it came from the forced tunnel’s excavations, which started on the inside rather than the outside.

So what was the long thin treasure that Ma’mun had found and taken from inside the Great Pyramid? Had the King’s chamber been filled with sacred and valuable artifacts, and the long-thin mummy of a great and ancient king? Had Ma'mun discovered a king’s ransom in bullion? Perhaps, but Ralph thinks that the real answer is probably more prosaic and poignant that this.

The Caliph’s tale

Ma'mun laboriously climbed his way up the 41.2 cubits of swaying ladders, to the original entrance of the Great Pyramid, a difficult task for a portly Caliph and a worrying moment for his advisors. After a short slide down the descending passage to the junction with the ascending passage, he entered the small rough shaft that his men had dug around the granite plug blocks, and scrambled into the ascending passage. From there he struggled up the Grand Gallery, his men cautiously pushing his chubby buttocks from behind. Sweating and cursing, he finally crawled on hands and knees into the King’s chamber, a degrading and exhausting experience that no Caliph had endured either before or since.

Ma'mun was flustered, even angry, but also elated. Although he had been briefed that the King’s chamber was basically empty, what it did possess was an untouched, enigmatic and completely sealed sarcophagus! This was the prize that justified these privations. Caliph al-Ma'mun was going to be at the opening of this sarcophagus at whatever cost – he was not about to let his chief vizier run of with the treasures of the Old Kingdom pharaohs of Egypt, or perhaps even the secrets of the gods themselves!

A disorganised rabble of workmen arrived and prised at the coffer lid with crow-bars. They cursed, swore and shouted, but the lid just would not budge. Finally, in a state of ecstatic anticipation, Ma'mun pushed the rabble aside and ordered the coffer to be smashed with sledge-hammers. The chief gaffir aimed a few heavy blows and with a great crash, one corner of the sarcophagus flew off; and the result of his endeavours are still visible to this day.

Ma'mun ordered the workers away, yelled for silence, grabbed a flickering lamp from a soldier and approached the hole in trepidation. Then, the significance of the moment struck him. He was standing inside the greatest of all the world’s ancient monuments, a structure rumoured to have been constructed by the gods themselves. Here at the very heart of this sacred monument lay a simple, unadorned, solitary black-granite coffer that had been sealed for thousands of years; and he, Caliph al-Ma'mun, was going to be the first to see inside. His hand began to tremble at the thought and he quickly steadied it with the other, least the workers see him as apprehensive. He carefully thrust the lamp inside the sarcophagus, but the flame on the lamp flickered and it was difficult to see. But at last the flame steadied and he saw for himself that the sarcophagus was ....... empty!

Caliph Al Ma'mun was absolutely livid. Suspecting, perhaps, that one of his workers had manufactured this little rouse, he flew into a violent rage and vented his anger on a few unfortunate victims of summary justice. However, there was no way that Ma'mun was going to go back to his palace from this escapade empty handed, after all he had been through. But the chamber only contained the sarcophagus and it was quite obvious that it was bigger than the entrance to the chamber. As a consolation prize, they found that the lid of the sarcophagus could be turned diagonally and just about squeeze through the King’s Chamber’s tough granite entrance blocks. Ma'mun was going to have it as a memento at all costs.

http://www.ancient-origins.net/sites/default/files/broken-sarcophagus-kings-chamber.jpg
Fig 8.The broken sarcophagus inside the King's Chamber. Was this damage the work of Caliph al-Ma'mun's men? And where is the lid of this sarcophagus?

Unfortunately for the workers, however, after sliding the great block of stone down the Grand Gallery, they found that the lid was not going to squeeze around the plug blocks and into the descending passage. Besides, the lid must have weighed a tonne, and if it ever got into the descending passage, nobody could think of a way of preventing it from plunging all the way down to the bottom of the pyramid. In addition, the original entrance stone was far too small to get the lid through. It was all becoming a bit of a nightmare.

Spurred on by an enraged Caliph the chief of engineering eventually came up with an answer. The only practical solution to this problem was to force a new tunnel from the junction of the descending and ascending passageways, horizontally through the core blocks of the pyramid and into the open air. THIS is Ma'mun’s forced tunnel - it started inside and made its way outwards, and this is why it appears to be so accurate in its trajectory.

The Black Stone

http://www.ancient-origins.net/sites/default/files/black-stones-mecca.jpg
Fig 9. The Hajar al-Aswad, the Black Stone(s) of Mecca.

So where did the lid from the King's Chamber eventually go? Ralph and Mark have sometimes been accused of layering speculation upon speculation, but this one is too obvious not to mention in passing. The Caliph was, quite obviously, a Muslim. At the center of the sacred Islamic city of Mecca lies a plaza that draws the faithful from all over the world during the Hajj. In the middle of this plaza lies a simple cubic building or chamber, the Ka'ba. On one corner of the Ka'ba lies the holiest relic in the Muslim world, the Hajar al-Aswad: the Black Stone. This relic is simply six fragments of black granite of unknown origin, stuck together and placed in a Vesica Piscis shroud.

Note: Many people continue to be critical of the 'absurd' idea that the Great pyramid chambers were designed and constructed to be perfectly empty, as it seems to be counter intuitive. Why would the greatest monument on Earth be designed in this strange fashion? Yet all the evidence seems to point towards the Great pyramid’s sarcophagus being empty - just as the sealed sarcophagus of Sekhemkhet was found to be empty in recent excavations. But this seeming anomaly is not as strange as it may at first seem. The truth of the matter is that a billion or so Christians continue to base their entire philosophy on exactly this very same concept – the empty tomb.

this new technology is showing the chambers they already discovered in "non-public" excavations, so just locking the door doesnt help anymore to hide things.

its like a reminder from the past, everytime something is beeing discovered at the pyramids mr. hawass steps in and takes over, i remember in the 90s when they send in the little robot "upuaut", it took a very long time until hawass allowed this to happen and the rest was a phony show sponsored by discovery channel to please the masses.

mr. hawass was installed in egypt as a gatekeeper, would be interesting to research his family background.

How would they have accessed this "void", exactly? Is there a "door", as you seem to be implying?

Abstract

The Great Pyramid or Khufu’s Pyramid was built on the Giza Plateau (Egypt) during the IVth dynasty by the pharaoh Khufu (Cheops), who reigned from 2509 to 2483 BC1. Despite being one of the oldest and largest monuments on Earth, there is no consensus about how it was built2,3.

To better understand its internal structure, we imaged the pyramid using muons, which are by-products of cosmic rays that are only partially absorbed by stone4–6. The resulting cosmic-ray muon radiography allows us to visualize the known and potentially unknown voids in the pyramid in a non-invasive way. Here we report the discovery of a large void (with a cross section similar to the Grand Gallery and a length of 30 m minimum) above the Grand Gallery, which constitutes the first major inner structure found in the Great Pyramid since the 19th century 1. This void, named ScanPyramids Big Void, was first observed with nuclear emulsion films7–9 installed in the Queen’s chamber (Nagoya University), then confirmed with scintillator hodoscopes10,11 set up in the same chamber (KEK) and re-confirmed with gas detectors12 outside of the pyramid (CEA).

This large void has therefore been detected with a high confidence by three different muon detection technologies and three independent analyses. These results constitute a breakthrough for the understanding of Khufu’s Pyramid and its internal structure. While there is currently no information about the role of this void, these findings show how modern particle physics can shed new light on the world’s archaeological heritage.

These sorts of man made mountains had a bunch of purposes I’m sure. I’ve always had this nagging idea that the pyramids also involved movement of water for some reason, maybe as a form of hydroelectric power, or compressed air generation.

A trompe is a heck of a compressed air source that is based on water falling, and harvesting the air bubbles in a depth chamber.

I don’t think they would have built them for only one reason.. for instance people nowadays don’t build a house or school or church for just one reason.

He talks about Kufu being an archaeologist himself, and how his cartouche was just like everyone else's writing in there, to show that he had been there.

Very interesting :)

Dear Larry

As matter of course I have read much of what Farrell/Hancock/Levenda and Marrs have to say about the histories and mysteries of the great pyramids. So thanks for the heads up but it's really not necessary.

However, as you note, their books have been in print for some time, whereas the announcement of "the void" has not. Although it was suspected about a year and a half ago, confirmation has only happened in the last few weeks:

Morishima’s first results came in March 2016—and to researchers’ surprise, they suggested that a region deep in the pyramid’s interior let many more muons through than they had been expecting. These “excess” muons seemed to trace a 100-foot-long cavity with a cross-section resembling the Grand Gallery.

What I am anticipating, then, is Farrell's UPDATE on the pyramids, given the recent revelations. So, unless you know of a book written by any of these people (leaving aside Jim Marrs, of course ) in the last week, and I am all ears/eyes if you are able to provide us all with such info, I must assume that you have grossly misinterpreted my statement. I have never heard any of these people (with the exception of Jim Marrs and his connections with the coterie of remote viewers, perhaps) make any claims about being able to see into the future. I think that Farrell will be just as fascinated as the rest of us about this discovery, and I look forward to his thoughts about it.

The latest (as far as I know) statement regarding the nature of the 'suspected' (at the time) voids was written by Dr. Farrell and posted to his site as one of his "high octane speculation" bits on August 16 of this year. Note, please, that this was before the confirmation of the existence, size and extent of the voids as was announced this week:

"What I suspect, therefore, is that if these alleged newly discovered chambers are ever explored that they too will conform to the pattern thus far argued by alternative researchers like engineer Christopher Dunn: they will be engineered to a machine-like perfection and purpose, and that they will conform to the pattern exhibited elsewhere in the structure, of embedded mathematical and physical information in its physical dimensions when examined with the appropriate non-metric metrology."

Dr. Joseph P. Farrell, on "Giza Death Star"

https://gizadeathstar.com/2017/08/hidden-chambers-found-great-pyramid/

As stated, I look forward to JPF's update.

Please, Larry, in future, grant to me a modicum of common sense in your estimations of my intent. And I shall do the same for you. :highfive:

Let us all be well.

Zahi Hawass can eat my shorts. Any mention of the Pyramids and Khufu's tomb makes me...mad. For years, Hawass has spewed lies and fiction just to further his career. Many other 'Egyptologists' are similarly guilty, if not directly of conspiracy to hide the truth, pig-headedness and rank ignorance. How much is Hawass being paid? Who bankrolls the disinformation? ...Who would throw a blanket over history to keep humanity in the dark? I imagine the very same who like keeping secrets, who want to keep us dumbed-down and empty inside. And for what..?

It may not be completely accurate, but this is a most plausible and worthy 'alternative' to the absurd mainstream storyline of the Pyramids' true function and origin: The Giza Power Plant: Technologies of Ancient Egypt (https://www.amazon.com/Giza-Power-Plant-Technologies-Ancient/dp/1879181509/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1509837324&sr=1-1&keywords=the+giza+power+plant)

Scientists Confirm Two ‘Hidden Chambers’ in the Great Pyramid with New Scans

Published 26th November 2019

Many of you will remember the discovery of large void inside the Great Pyramid back in 2017, when the ScanPyramids Project used high tech, non-destructive methods, such as infrared thermography and muography – measuring cosmic muons - to scan the Great Pyramid for hidden cavities and chambers.

Every major news outlet across the world reported the discovery and details of a flying robot that would explore the cavity were even released soon after, yet in the past two years we haven’t heard a thing.

Well, the Scan Pyramids Project is back and has just released a new short video, also linked below, which announces that the hidden chambers or voids are very real indeed.

The team have been conducting more scans inside the pyramid from different locations, including inside the relieving chambers above the King’s Chamber. Watch the video to see exactly what they discovered and their plans for more work in the Great Pyramid in 2020!

The Great Pyramid Trial Passages: New Ancient Astronomy Hypothesis

Published 4th March 2020

The Great Pyramid Trial Passages are a true mystery of the Giza Plateau, but a new paper may have solved the problem!

A new paper has been released by David Ian Lightbody in the Journal of Ancient Egyptian Architecture concerning the Trial Passages of Giza, long thought to be a test run for the building of the Great Pyramid.

The new hypothesis by Lightbody is a bright insight, giving a new purpose to the so-called Trial Passages, the chambers and corridors that were dug directly into the bedrock, just east of the Great Pyramid. Lightbody claims that they could, in actual fact be a place to observe the northern stars.

In this video, I won’t go into the detail that Lightbody has, but I’ll give you an outline of his arguments and findings. I’ve linked the full paper here: http://www.egyptian-architecture.com/JAEA4/JAEA4_Lightbody

So what exactly are these Trial Passages? For those that don’t know, I made a video about them two years ago - https://youtu.be/wcSsjBOL1fA - and experts believe they were built around the same time as the Great Pyramid. The inclinations and dimensions of the passages are extremely similar to those of the Great Pyramid, and all on a north-south alignment.

Flinders Petrie believed they were a replica or trial version of the internal passages of the Great Pyramid’s descending passageway, where it intersects with the ascending passage – a way to test to see if the plugging mechanism in the Great Pyramid would work.

But no granite plug blocks were found inside the Trial Passages and there is also the problem of a tall vertical shaft at the ascending passage and descending passage junction within the Trial Passages. Such a vertical shaft is apparently not there inside the Great Pyramid. So it is likely that the Trial Passages are not a replica of the Great Pyramid internal shafts, unless of course the pyramid architect changed his mind and decided not to incorporate the vertical shaft. Either that or the vertical shaft inside the Great Pyramid has still not been discovered.

Some say that the Trial Passages were part of a smaller pyramid structure on the Giza plateau, one that is no longer there, and as we have seen in previous videos, especially the writings of 18th century explorer Richard Pococke, there were more, smaller pyramids on the Giza plateau that are no longer there.

All the ideas about the Trial Passages do seem to fall down in the detail, but now there is a new hypothesis that the Trial Passages were actually built to observe the circumpolar stars, something originally mentioned by Glen Dash. Lightbody takes the idea a stage further and says that the Passages were designed and intended to be used to establish an accurate, astronomy-based north-south alignment for the construction of the Great Pyramid.

Watch this video to learn more about the new ancient astronomy hypothesis regarding the Great Pyramid's Trial Passages and don't forget to download the paper!

Scientists reveal hidden corridor in Great Pyramid of Giza

A hidden corridor nine metres (30 feet) long has been discovered close to the main entrance of the 4,500-year-old Great Pyramid of Giza, and this could lead to further findings, Egyptian antiquities officials said on Thursday.

The discovery within the pyramid, the last of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing, was made under the Scan Pyramids project that since 2015 has been using non-invasive technology including infrared thermography, 3D simulations and cosmic-ray imaging to peer inside the structure.

An article published (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-023-36351-0) in the journal Nature on Thursday said the discovery could contribute to knowledge about the construction of the pyramid and the purpose of a gabled limestone structure that sits in front of the corridor.

The Great Pyramid was constructed as a monumental tomb around 2560 BC during the reign of the Pharaoh Khufu, or Cheops [From Bill: No, it wasn't! :P], to a height of 146 metres (479 feet). With much of its white limestone casing removed, it now stands at 139 metres.

A hidden corridor inside the Great Pyramid of Giza that was discovered by researchers from the the Scan Pyramids project by the Egyptian Tourism Ministry of Antiquities is seen in Giza, Egypt March 2, 2023.

The unfinished corridor was likely created to redistribute the pyramid's weight around either the main entrance now used by tourists, almost seven metres away, or around another as yet undiscovered chamber or space, said Mostafa Waziri, head of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities.

"We're going to continue our scanning so we will see what we can do ... to figure out what we can find out beneath it, or just by the end of this corridor," he told reporters after a press conference in front of the pyramid.

Five rooms atop the king's burial chamber in another part of the pyramid are also thought to have been built to redistribute the weight of the massive structure. It was possible the pharaoh had more than one burial chamber, Waziri added.

Scientists detected the corridor through cosmic-ray muon radiography, before retrieving images of it by feeding a 6mm-thick endoscope from Japan through a tiny joint in the pyramid's stones.

In 2017, Scan Pyramids researchers announced the discovery (https://www.reuters.com/news/science/article/us-science-pyramid/cosmic-ray-imaging-finds-hidden-structure-in-egypts-great-pyramid-idUSKBN1D21IY) of a void at least 30 metres long inside the Great Pyramid, the first major inner structure found since the 19th century.

I have read Jeremy Naydler's excellent books on the Egyptian religion (e.g. Shamanic Wisdom in the Pyramid Texts); and (from memory) he believes the Great Pyramid was Not primarily a burial chamber (as referenced above); but instead the place for rituals by which the Pharaoh and priest magicians would undergo a near-death experience that provided access to the dwat or spirit underworld. he has reached this conclusion from extremely detailed study of the texts (he did a PhD on them) as well as extensive fieldwork. His perspective is strongly influenced by Rudolf Steiner's work.

In general; I find Naydler to be one of the most interesting and insightful of all living authors on some matters of the greatest importance - the development of human consciousness (through history and into the future), the nature of electricity, the development and effect of computers, the global surveillance and control agenda etc.

This is a fascinating thread - I'm embarrassed to admit I've only just discovered it! :blushing: Still reading...

I do have a slightly off-topic question:
Is there any information about chambers in the other two pyramids?

We hear so much about the Khufu pyramid and the secret and not-so-secret chambers and passages therein, but I've never read anything about the other two in the complex. Surely there must be some chambers in those? Otherwise, what did they really build them for?

Just a personal note. :) I get quite frustrated sometimes when reading mainstream pyramid articles which refer to 'burial chambers' (there's zero evidence that they were ever tombs), and that the Dynastic Kings Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure had them built during their lifetimes.

It's beyond the scope of this post, or even this thread, but I'm as sure as I can be personally that while they might have served multiple purposes, the pyramids featured access to stargates — as did the underground Serapeum of Saqqara (https://www.ancient-code.com/the-mystery-of-the-100-ton-boxes-at-the-serapeum-of-saqqara-ancient-precision-at-its-best/) (where there are twenty-five 70-100-ton granite boxes, carved with immense precision, all of which are and were completely empty).

Just a couple of clues about this:

The thread The Stargate of Aramu Muru, in Peru (https://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?10612-The-Stargate-of-Aramu-Muru-in-Peru), describing how Jerry Wills (whom I know personally) actually disappeared into the Stargate for a subjective and terrifying period of something like 10-11 hours, while his wife saw him reappear physically after just a few minutes.
Napoleon spent a night (https://www.ancient-code.com/napoleon-bonapartes-mystical-experience-inside-the-great-pyramid-of-giza/) (seven hours) in the granite 'sarcophagus' of the King's Chamber of the Great Pyramid, about which he never spoke. He emerged pale and frightened, and his response when he was questioned about his experience was: "Even if I told you, you would not believe me."

Bumping this thread with another most interesting reported story. But do note — this is NOT the Great Pyramid, it's the Pyramid of Sahure, which is about 10 km south of Giza.

Archaeologists Discover Hidden Chambers in Egyptian Pyramid

https://s3.amazonaws.com/www.explorersweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/21103609/shutterstock_2299236887-e1697884766767.jpg

British Egyptologist John Perring originally excavated Sahure in 1836. He came across a debris-filled passageway but was unable to clear it. He was sure the passage led to more chambers. Almost 200 years later, his prediction has proven accurate.
Susceptible to collapse

The now crumbling pyramid was built from the 25th to the 26th century BC for the Pharaoh Sahure (also known as Sahura) of the Fifth Dynasty.

Sections of the pyramid have been crumbling. Researchers think this is partly because of the construction style but also because of the high humidity and strong winds in the region. The sand, limestone, and rubble at the core of the pyramid may have made it more susceptible to collapse. The debris from this deterioration made it impossible to explore the other end of the passage, until now.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/www.explorersweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/21103616/csm_0927Sahura_Pyramide-www_7e8bae437e-e1697884758976.jpgFrom left to right: An exterior view of the pyramid; a passage secured with steel beams; and one of the discovered storage rooms.

The Egyptian-German research team (https://www.uni-wuerzburg.de/en/news-and-events/news/detail/news/neue-raeume-in-der-pyramide-von-sahura-entdeckt/), led by Mohamed Ismail Khaled, started work to conserve the pyramid in 2019. They cleared out interior sections and replaced damaged walls with retaining walls. They are the first team to successfully access the pyramid’s burial chamber.

The team came across the blocked passageway noted by Perring two centuries ago. Perring believed that it led to storage rooms, and Khaled’s team proved he was correct. They found eight badly damaged chambers.

“We were jumping from happiness we have achieved something that no one [had] done before,” Khaled told Mens Journal.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/www.explorersweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/21103605/shutterstock_2299236839-e1697884773575.jpgThe Pyramid of Sahure

[B]Laser mapping the past

The team is using light detection and ranging (lidar) to see what lies beyond blocked sections of the pyramid and to 3D map the structure. The lidar uses pulsing lasers to penetrate obstacles and show what sits on the other side.

There are still remnants of the original ceilings and floors in the newly discovered chambers. The team thinks the rooms, also known as magazines, were built to hold funerary furniture.

“Unfortunately, we did not find anything inside, but one can imagine that King Sahura had more treasures than King Tutankhamun. The state under Sahura’s reign had a very strong economic situation,” Khaled said.

The team continues its work on the pyramid. In the future, they think there is potential to open it to the public.

All 3 Pyramids Connected Underground? Archaeologists Want This Truth Buried!:

UkyvrJWL-V0
For thousands of years, we’ve been walking on top of a secret. New satellite scans now reveal a vast underground network beneath the Giza Plateau—tunnels, chambers, and strange machinery-like structures buried nearly 2000 feet below the surface. Not just under the pyramids, but beneath the entire complex, including the Sphinx. Why has this never been made public? Because what lies beneath doesn’t fit the official story. This discovery doesn’t just challenge mainstream archaeology—it threatens to rewrite history itself. What if the pyramids were never tombs… but gateways to something far older, and deliberately hidden?

This X post (https://x.com/GrassiTrevor/status/2022033562770280456) is more closely related to synthetic aperture radar doppler tomography more famously brought to light during recent presentations concerning the Giza complex.

From Trevor Grassi (https://x.com/GrassiTrevor/status/2022033562770280456)

Amid so much else happening at the Giza Plateau right now, comes the unthinkable news, from Richard Gabriel who was on the ground last month investigating - the NC2 complex has been permanently sealed with stones and cement! The metal gate that has been in place since 2008 was often locked, but now they decided to definitively seal off the whole complex permanently, including the so called Tomb of the Birds and Cave of the Snake.

This shocking news is clearly a reaction to the exposures of the system from Richard and myself over the past year, particularly our two part documentary, Revealing NC2, and other videos released by Richard in this playlist.

This is one of the most important structures on the Plateau, and the Khafre Research Project has confirmed, based on their SAR tomographic scans, that the system does connect to some of the deepest and most important spaces below the pyramids (though these particular scan images have not been made public yet), as Richard and I both suspected.

This is a HUGE move on the part of the authorities, and requires the context of new data we've collected, just before it happened, and this will be compiled and presented as soon as we are able. For the moment, Richard has provided a brief video explanation here:

My confirmation of the dastardly stone blocks cemented to permanantly block the designated entrance to NC2 (North Cliff 2) the entrance to the deep underground of Giza.
