View Full Version : Farmers Markets vs. Higher Education hijacked by Monsanto

When I went to our local farmers market to buy fresh local produce, I came across a booth that was placed there by a branch of higher education--an Oregon University.

Our county voted to ban growing GMO crops. At the booth presented by the University, they had a brochure about canning and food safety tips. I looked it over and asked about where the information was regarding the dangers of GMO foods. After side-stepping the question several times, further questioning elicited this response. (Not exact words, but this is the gist.) "We are not against GMO foods; we don't have an opinion about them."

When questioned further, it was ascertained that because of government funding, they could not take a side.

Now, after reading this article...

https://theinternetpost.net/tag/department-of-homeland-security/page/2/

In this article a student reports being advised to write a grant to Monsanto or the Department of Homeland security to fund their education to explain why farmers markets were 'stocked with black market vegetables' and 'were a bioterrorism threat waiting to happen'.

...I wonder if it is Monsanto funding. Even if it's government funding, they were not supporting the voice of the people who banned GMO crops locally.

...and what does this imply about our Department of Homeland Security?

Probably something simple like ...

Monsanto makes a plea to the government to give them a grant to "educate students on the economy of agriculture", the government sees education as "good" and grants them the money for the project. No further questions are asked. Monsanto spins the "education" to it's own advantage.

In Southern Ontario the University of Guelph, which is our biggest and most prestigious agricultural University is heavily financed by Monsanto-Bayer. It's disgusting and depressing in my opinion.

I just joined an organic farm co-operative in Toronto. We're buying our own farm and getting out of the supermarket sideshow.

Fresh produce, happy animals and raw milk :)

🍀🍀🍀This is one of the the new trends for sustainability. I've seen it in Colorado and Oregon, and I suppose it is happening in many various places.🍀🍀🍀

I believe people will withdraw their attention, support, and participation from the old systems, effectively making them obsolete.

The new sustainable systems with the good of the people "goodwill toward all" in mind will make the past systems seem idiotic with their lack of transparency and integrity.

🌟🌟🌟Now wholeness and integrity lead the way.🌟🌟🌟

And peace...
