Photo is from the Rear HazCam of the Spirit Rover. Posted on the JPL/NASA Website. No official description or explanation that I can see. Very odd.

I have never seen a boulder with such highly defined angles before, such as that center object. And also one that appears to be radiating light from windows, I might add.

Let's analyze this for a moment, just for the fun of it, and see where it goes (Oh no! Here we go again! LOL!).

What if: The center object is a terminal for arriving and departing craft and this terminal provides access to the underground.

What if: The two objects on the right and the left are craft.

What if: The lines that you see on the ground running from the center object to the two objects on either side are Umbilicals, used for the servicing of and transportation to/from the craft.

Sorry, but no yet my friends.
What you are seeing here, is an optical illusion.:smokin:
The rear camera of the Spirit rover happens to be under the reflective sun panels.
It is an optical illusion. You are sing the reflection of the back of the rover that is why it has aberrations at the top and a similar image on both sides.
I played with it in photoshop and reversed the image and that is exactly what it is.

When it comes to photography, video, film and audio i have a very detective like ability from years of working in the industry. I have all the software hardware and know how.

Great find.

But at further exam it turned out that the upper protector gives the illusion of a (false) horizon.

This is actually an image taken from the Spirit Rover's rear camera. The shapes are just a part of the rover's solar panels. One can see the shadows on the ground reflected on the panel's glossy surface.

These things have been on Mars how long? Anyone ever wonder how the rovers and their sensitive optics and sensors, not to mention other moving parts, stay so clean and free of dust, dirt, and sand?
