Good morning fellow Avalonians,

Since the first week in December last year I debated if I should make this post but there are quite a few people here that I feel might someday at some point find something of value from this thread.

On December 6th I had a heart attack in an artery they lovingly call the widow maker. They told me at the emergency room and ICU floor over and over again that I was lucky to be alive. My symptoms as a female which are common among women was a pain in the jaw...then my heart started racing and I was laboring to breather. I spent three days on nitroglycerin until they put a stint in my heart and discovered I have two other arteries in my heart that are partially blocked and "need to be watched". One is 40%, the other 50%. So I'm now recovering from a heart attack and must carry nitroglycerin with me and take medications to keep my blood pumping through my heart which is now got an irregular beat.

Now you would think that was enough but no. While I was there they did a CAT scan and found a large mass in my lung. So when I got out of the hospital I had a PET scan and they found several tumors. Two in my lungs, one 8 centimeters by 7 centimeters (the size roughly of a tennis ball) wrapped around my pulmonary artery, and two more tumors in my lymph nodes. The large one in my lung is totally inoperable. I have been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer.

Because I had just had the stint put in a surgical biopsy to determine what kind of cancer it was could not be done until the end of January. I also would have to go off of my blood thinners from the heart attack I have just had. Now this had not spread to my bones or liver yet thank god and they ordered an MRI of my brain which I'm still waiting for but because I have not heard yet... but it's very probable that it has not gone to my brain yet because the nurse at the Oncology office said they would have immediately contacted them if that was the case.

While I was getting my MRI the radiologist determined that they may be able to get a biopsy from my lymph node under my collar bone by my neck without having to take me off the blood thinners, so they tried. Still waiting for that diagnosis but they were able to get enough material for the pathologist to determine what kind of cancer I have.

Needless to say I did not want to tell anyone about this because of the holiday season and bum people out with such bad new. But there you have it.

When I first was presented with this information I was stunned and shocked. I was and am very sick. Now I realize that the pain I was experiencing that was increasing was not from a pulled muscle in my back but the cancer in my lung. The headaches and soar throat I was having was from the tumor in my lymph node they took the biopsy from. One is really never prepared to face their own mortality but that is exactly what I have been presented with.

As a result I'm am presently on heavy pain medication better known as opiates and without them I would not be able to handle the now increasing pain I am experiencing. I am also being prepared to go into chemo and radiation therapy as the urgency to reduce and get this into remission is more than urgent due to the largest tumor that is wrapped around my pulmonary artery in my lung which can kill me by itself and my heart condition is associated with that.

Now I know this prognosis is very bleak and for weeks now I have been in a daze of what the hell is happening? Am I being called home?

Well if that's the case I will accept that...but I have not had a chance to see my new grandson who I was prepared to see this month with my vacation time due from work!

Well needless to say my son is extremely upset and he went a gave notice at work and is now moving his wife and new son from California to North Carolina to be with his mom at this time and help take care of me. I'm bless by the way with children who love their mom and I'm so excited to have them here. But I'm also going to be and am very sick. Shoot it took me 10 time longer than normal to even attempt to write this so excuse any typos but this is the best I can do under my circumstance.

Now you all probably think I'm toast! Well in the past week as this has sunk in I decided since my children are coming out to be with me I would do my best to fight this. After all I've always been a fighter and why would I give up now. Because this is so bleak?

Well on that road one of the things that is giving me hope is mushrooms! No...not the kind that make you glassy eyed...but the healing kind. Back a few years ago I wanted to do a project and promote Paul Stamets...who's work I think is some of the most hopeful for our planet as well as health is concerned but I had forgotten that he cured his mother of 84 years of cancer when she was inoperable and in the last stages before death was imminent. Heck! I'm only 64!

Some how someone who I last expected to know a thing about Paul Stamets sent me a video...and I started to look into it and not only is the medical field accepting these results of his they are advising it in conjunction with chemo and radiation. According to the American Cancer Society the only reason they are not putting this under the umbrella of big pharma is they cannot isolate the part that is killing the cancer to produce it and over charge the public for a drug to peddle. Personally I think it's a combined chemical in the mushroom that is key..bit hay what do I know?

So I write this as a start to journaling my progress as I am able and hopefully if any of you out there have someone you love or you yourself experience anything like this it can hopefully give you all some hope...because I plan on kicking this cancers ass! This will also include the ups and downs of the medical industry and insurance issues I have to go through too...because that is part of my process as well. This will be an uphill battle.

Here is the mushroom I am currently taking now...I took my first dose today. Six capsules a day...3 in the morning, 3 in the afternoon and 3 before bed.

I'm also a firm believer in remote healing so I'll accept that if any of you have that particular talent. You are welcome to add anything that I may have missed as well to this thread...but remember...this is not just cancer. It's cancer with a heart condition...the top two causes of death. Heart disease being the first.

Cancer apparently thrives in an Acidic (oxygen deprived) environment in the body, but it hates a PH (oxygen rich) environment. Some folk have tried changing their body from Acidic, where a cancer grows, to PH. Bi Carb can apparently change the body from an acidic environment to a ph environment. PH foods can also change the body to a non friendly environment for cancers.

I have not studied this, this has just passed my radar a few times but the treatment seems simple and promising. I do not know how compatible it would be with a heart condition.

Iodine, high quality Vit C, Cayenne tea and carrots should be the first port of call for heart disease and maybe cancer. Iodine especially can raise the dead. Many threads on these substances in the healing archives. Godspeed.

I’m so sorry to hear this news, and, glad you’ve decided to try to wrap your head around the latest treatment strategies. My heart goes out to you.

Stamets’ cultures (the ones you have) are the only ones I would personally trust, since there’s an incredible variation in quality of strains coming from other countries (most notably, China). As primary and secondary decomposers, mushrooms take in toxins from their soil and air environment, most notably heavy metals, fuel-based chemicals, and radiation. Stamets lab in Washington state has an impeccable reputation among mycologists, and exceeds all known organic standards. He’s a closet permaculture guy, after all.

I know there’s also been some work on clearing arteries through a plant-based diet, which might be another thing for you to look into. An excellent documentary is called “what the health?”

I’ve spent a great deal of time with folks dealing with cancer. The emotional stress is real, and just as important to manage as the physical symptoms. We grieve the loss of our health (in our own ways), so having a solid support system is a stress insulator. Don’t be afraid to tell people what you need, including doctors and other medical folks. E.g. “I need you to listen to me.” They’re supposed to be there for you— the patient is the boss, not the other way around.

When meeting with oncology, take notes (or have someone with you), because when visiting different doctors it’s easy to get overwhelmed and then come up with a million questions right after the doc leaves the room. Despite the advances in the medical world, it’s still run by people- and quite often there’s conflicting or confusing information being shared.

just research/search engine the substance laetril (contained in apricots, peaches and almonds); it's one of the many, many cures for cancer; but banned in the US but used in Mexico (read Jim Marrs' "Population Control")

former US President Reagan died of Alzheimer (we can be sure there are many cures for that also) not of cancer;

he at some point had intestinal cancer but he was given laetril (and we don't have a two-class medical system?- one for us peons and the rest for the global elite?) and it cured his cancer;

cancer cells cannot survive in an alkaline envirenment so one might consider adding a lot of natron/baking soda (very alkaline) to one's diet;

I'm certainly no trained doctor but my eyes were opened a long time ago to the power of natural products that cure just about everything but about which allopathic medical doctors were never taught because these remedies are not profitable to the medical industry-

I'm just being introduced to immunotherapy from a biologist who contacted me yesterday. Apparently it utilizes one's own T-cells to fight against cancer cells. I'm wondering how effective it is, and of its safety.

Iscador is an Anthroposophic medical therapy which uses mistletoe extracts, and is said to be all natural/organic. I've personally heard more cases of unfortunate passing after having this therapy, but it still seems to be prefered over chemotherapy for having less side effects.

I've been an advocate of Dr. Samuel Epstein's works for more than 10 years, and take mineral supplements that have been created by him as an alternative cure for cancer. When I learned that everyone has more or less cancer cells within their bodies and it's just a matter of having strong enough immune system to keep it under control, somehow I felt the need to do something more than just practicing yoga and energy healing. In December, I was seeing a lot of heavy energies around, and noticed some people around me who were having difficulties. A few of them came up to me for help, and I felt a strong urge to offer my healing therapy.

I was giving for free of charge at first, but because it was taking so much of my energy and time, and there was an increasing demand for it, I decided it would only be fair to receive a minimal payment.

I'm aware that there are some people who would think any spiritual works (including psychic readings) should not be charged any fees because it's to do with unearthly energies, but I think the efforts put into the unseen works so-to-speak, should be valued for the person giving them, so that they can live comfortably enough for what they do.

I have made major changes in my life the past few years like cutting out as much stress as possible, which unfortunately means cutting ALOT of people off from my life. I’m very much enjoying my aloneness & the bliss & joy it brings. I’ve also started a vegetarian diet, started yoga again & increased meditation as well as sound therapy, like binaural beats.

I’m 46 but have the wear & tear on my body of a 70 year old. I’ve come to view my health issues as a blessing cause i now have more of an urgency to make all these changes that I’ve been putting off for the past few years.

My mother in law has been battling breast cancer and recovering from heart attacks since last April. This is what has got her back on her feet (she was bedridden all of July and being 80 she might have died otherwise). She couldn't take chemo nor radiation because her heart was too weak.

- medicinal cannabis oil, mostly high CBD, a gram a day (have to build up to this level)
- pancreatic enzymes (from 'cancer killers' book)

Good morning,

I'm glad to see some fellow cancer patients involved in the conversations here. In my message that was part if my reasoning to start this in case anybody else runs into such obstacles of this nature and wants to share their experience and treatments.

I'm going to try to write more but I just answered a message to some friends and literally spent my energy doing that and I will be back as some of these message I want to address. So after the pain medication kicks in which wears off during sleep and takes twice as long to kick in I will be back. Keep the information coming.

It's a worthy subject for our health and well being...that of the patient and the people who love them.

Sending healing thoughts your way. So sorry to hear of your plight. Wouldn't like to presume to advise on your best course of action other than to advise you read "Fat for Fuel" by Dr Joseph Mercola as a matter of urgency. He can explain things much better than I can, but stage 3 and 4 cancers can be reversed by going on a keto diet with moderate restrictions of protein, and drastic restriction of carbs.

Journaling is a great idea for all sorts of reasons. I have a feeling you'll be trying quite a few supplements, and this is a good way to track what does what, and what works best in combination and so forth. If you're taking more than a few things, it's easy to forget!

There are soooo many options for you! Maybe too many LOL. But that's good. Just don't allow yourself to become overwhelmed is all.

I could list a dozen therapies just off the top of my head. One I just learned about was baking soda. I take a little baking soda in water each night as a preventative measure against acid reflux, and it works wonders. While reading about it I came across all this fascinating stuff about how it's used to treat cancer by a dr simoncini in Italy. Anyway, it's cheap as dirt and may not be a bad place to start.

Haven’t had time to read the entire thread, so forgive me if my advice is repetitive. Seriously if you haven’t done this yet, sign up for emails with Ty Bollinger, The Truth About Cancer, www.thetruthaboutcancer.com. See if any of the episodes are airing for free on youtube or even better, buy the program. I’ve spent about 70 hours watching Ty’s work whenever it became available for free viewing through the past few years. Very, very informative and there’s nothing like it out there. Get your family to watch it for you if you’re too sick, it will save your life if you follow through and it’s very empowering as it gives you information the ‘system’ never will. In fact, it may save the life of other family members in the future as it teaches prevention! The protocols discussed should be incorporated into everyone’s life to prevent from getting sick, rather than waiting till someone gets sick to make the change.

Your case is complicated and really you should be prescribed a protocol by a well informed doctor rather than going on your own. And when I say ‘informed doctor’ I mean one who is willing to work outside the AMA (American Medical Association) system. I highly discourage you from doing Chemotherapy as it’s useless! The problem….it doesn’t kill the cancer stem cell and you may experience cancer returning even stronger after treatment. Doctors in ‘the system’ will never tell you this. From everything I’ve read and heard, chemotherapy does nothing but make you sicker than you were!

Good morning,

I had every intention to address some of the great posts on this thread yesterday but frankly every time I tried I was just too zapped to respond in a coherent manner. Cancer is an energy zapping disease...mentally, physically and spiritually. Being Monday I had to contact the doctors office to find out what the results were on my brain MRI and Biopsy. Now I know they are a busy office and I'm not the only patient but after two messages I finally got hold of someone who said yes they are back but would not share the information with me. They told me I would have to wait for the results to be reviewed then they would contact me. Of course that lead to my currently newly adapted habit of pacing. While the pacing was slow it was steady...and lasted until shortly after 5PM when it dawned on me the office is now closed and I would have to wait until today.

I also devoted some of that pacing to the insurance company that handles my temporary disability at work because they had not yet given me a word on the approval so I called them and waited then I emailed them and did not hear back until late in the afternoon as well. Their response was as follows:

Yes I did. We received the medical reports last week. It was sent for medical review today. Please allow up to 3 business days for an update on your claim.

Lot's of the posts here are regarding nutrition. I had a conversation yesterday with someone who mentioned an alkaline diet and they briefly mentioned the outline of what that was. This will be my next line of defense and the energy zapping I'm experiencing I'm sure has something to do with my diet and nutrition. My appetite has drastically changed and things I usually love to eat just sound horrible at this time. The only thing I've really craved when I am hungry is oatmeal. Now I'm not a big oatmeal fan but discovered that oatmeal is really good for the heart. So when I start working on my nutrition I need to remember I need a heart healthy diet as well as a cancer defense diet.

JoefromtheCarolinas mentioned the turkey tail mushrooms and I agree and actually heard Paul Stamets caution not to get this produce from China as they are heavily laced with lead from the environmental pollution. Paul has a great interview if you have a chance also with Joe Rogan he did in November which I highly recommend.

Joe also mentioned while at the doctors to take notes. I'm way ahead of you Joe! My first doctors appointment was at the cardiologist when I was ill prepared and left the office with questions I had forgotten to ask. So I decided from now on when I go to any doctor it's with a pad and pen of questions. Which I did when I visited the oncologist and I told the oncologist I was going to start writing all he says down in that pad. That way everything is documented and I don't forget what they say. Believe me when you enter the oncology office for the first time it's a scary experience. You may tend to be overwhelmed and forget to ask questions or when you leave forget all that was said. It's a great idea Joe and you're right...they work for you not the other way around.

Now anybody that gets cancer and their family will be overwhelmed and this is no exaggeration. You will be torn in several directions as to what to do and how to proceed. I know that was my first inclination. Then there is the long term aspect of how to afford such a diagnosis. Am I going to lose my home? Can I afford to be this sick? Believe me this is one of the first things you think about! Many of the new Cancer treatments are not available in your area and the costs are far too much for you to even consider! So what to do? I will attempt to address this aspect in my next post tomorrow. If I'm not too zapped today...I may discuss it later today. Still waiting for those result which may lead to pacing again!

Well...all kidding aside that is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for...what to take and what not to. Thank you RunningDeer. I think for the sake of getting better some sacrifice might be in order eh?

I did want to mention this very important factor that I forgot to mention.


When I first had my heart attack the nurse in the ER asked what was going on and I told her my jaw was killing me...and I had shortness of breath. They immediately cut of my shirt in the middle and hooked me up to and EKG. Then I heard her say when I said my jaw was killing me to another nurse that is a classic sign for women. Classic sigh for what I thought...I still had no idea I was having a heart attack...but suspected something was making my heart race. I thought I might be having the beginnings of a stroke as it was in my head area.

Now some of you may not know this but one of my jobs at work is ERT (Emergency Response Team) and my particular area was AED to shock the heart if there is no pulse and do CPR should that arise. I've spent hours in training for such things as heart attacks...but never once did they tell us that a common symptom for women is pain in the jaw.

So to all you women out there....be notified now. If your jaw starts feeling extreme pain and almost like a burning sensation...you may very well be having a heart attack. Take four aspirin if you have them (as long as you're not alergic) and seek immediate medical attention.

For some reason they don't really stress this symptom much and they damned well should!

I did not know that...but I am being very careful other than the turkey tail mushroom supplements right now until I advise the doctor. I do know when you are sick to be careful not to go over board and dive in until you know exactly what you are doing. Thanks for the link! I will check that one out for sure.

I do know many lung cancer patients die form pneumonia and not the cancer itself...so I have to be very careful right now.

I drink 3-4 cups of coffee a day. The foods I eat are mostly alkaline which help to counter the effects of acidic coffee. The smart thing would be to eliminate it. I figure that I do a lot more good things for my body than not.

Good to hear you are staying on top of results Shadowself as the sad thing and most frustrating is the waiting and being reminded that your needs in the hands of different systems is not the priority for the most part.

Sometimes I think there should be one trained individual on each diagnosed patients case that gets back to the person with the results the minute the Doctor has reviewed and given feedback. For many things need to be moved forward for quick review and assessment, alleviating lots of added stress for those waiting for answers and would facilitate ways and means to incorporate solutions to pending health concerns with a sense of urgency and adeptness in meeting the all consuming challenge at hand.

Please refurbish yourself in the ways that give you strength and if pacing does the trick for You versus WORRY then keep the pace .......YOU got this!!

Hi Shadowself, in your position I would go out and obtain cannabis oil, probably 1:1 thc/cbd would be a good place to start. One starts with a small quantity the size of half a grain of rice on one's finger, then press against one's inner cheek. Start with once a day before bed, then when tolerance increases, in the morning too, then increase the dosage to about a grain of rice each time. We believe this saved my mother-in-law's life.

Good Morning,

Sorry I could not join in yesterday. I've just been sort of out of it and partially due to the biopsy results.

The MRI came back clean. No brian tumors.

However the biolsy was not so good.

It cam back with Small cell carcinoma and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

Stage 4 Small Cell lung cancer is the worst kind of lung cancer you could have. It's very aggressive and people usually end up qualifying for trials when you have this kind of cancer...which means you can be a guinea pig for the medical research teams.

Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma is usually pretty treatable and can be treated pretty easily It's cancer in a type of white blood cell basically.

So I don't just have one cancer but two to address. You think someone is trying to tell me something? Needless to say I was not able to just get on the internet and share this just yet. It sort of took the wind out of me.

Thanks everyone for the prayers and support. I want to assure everyone I've not given up. I will still try to fight this. But realistically this is not a good prognosis. Small Cell Lung Cancer is the worst variety of cancer. this is going to be war like none I've waged. I'm so thankful my son his wife and baby are coming to be with me at this time. Just know that everyone of you have touched my heart and I'm grateful to have your prayers and support at a time I so desperately need it. Bless you for being there for me.

Hi Shadowself, so many people have shared many helpful advise on this thread. I send you some healing thoughts and energy. I would like to add my experience beating cancer. I've already covered my cancer experience in this post (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?98236-Cancer-Cured-Victory-Over-the-War-on-Cancer&p=1158956&viewfull=1#post1158956). Today I'm thankfully cancer free. I'll go for another routine MRI next month at my oncologist insistence, which I've been doing every 6 months now.

I would like to reiterate the importance of baking soda regimen. Our cat started to have problems eating foods over 2 weeks ago. He would try to chew, but then would spit out most of it. So we took him to emergency vet clinics and specialty vet clinics several times over the last few weeks. He's on strong antibiotics and liquid prednisone. Since he cannot eat, vet surgeon has inserted a feeding tube which we can use to inject medicine and food. Our pet has had full urine, bloood work and biopsy. None of these have returned any diagnosis the specialist feline surgeon can act on. At the last visit a few days ago, the feline surgeon said that despite the liquid prednisone we have been giving the cat, there is still underlying illness that is continuing to inflame his tongue. He just doesn't have any idea what that underlying illness is. We have scheduled another visit with the feline surgeon on 1/18 and another biopsy if necessary. My suspicion is that some kind of virus maybe be attacking our cat. Our feline surgeon has ruled out the usual suspects of feline viruses. We give our cat a liquid opiod pain medication in his mouth twice a day if needed.

Since the antibiotic and the prednisone doesn't seem to alleviate the huge ulcer in his tongue (it started with a small spot under the tongue, now 1/3 of his tongue is ulcerated), two days ago, I started to add a pinch of baking soda to all his food. Today, without painkillers, he is now getting around and do usual cat things instead of just sleeping in his bed. I strongly believe that adding baking soda to his food is starting to make a difference. For a while, both my wife and I thought he might be terminal and we were getting ready to face it, 2 nights ago we both cried in anticipation of losing our beloved pet my wife rescued from a storm drain in our back yard. We have raised him from just before he was able to open his eyes on bottle, and he has been with us since for 10 years.

Just few humble questions - I am no expert and do not have cancer ( or so I am told)

1. Regarding Chemo, I am sure you have seen information regarding how Chemo spreads cancer or locks it in. I believe that what is going on is that Chemo damages or destroys the immune system (our greatest weapon against cancer), it seems to promote metastasis and prevent the spreading cells from being attacked. Should one do Chemo in such circumstances? I would be asking what honestly is the improvement in prognosis suggested in your case. Then beware that their stats tend to focus on the 5 year horizon, which can be misleading. I suspect an honest answer would be that it will not improve survival chances, but may buy time by shrinking the tumours. IF So the question becomes whether the extra time is worth the suffering (maybe not) and whether alternative ways of shrinking the tumours would do the same job , but without all the adverse effects. These growths are a mass of tissue, toxins and fungus. If one is asking the body to 'eat' these, it needs to be in a healthy condition particularly the liver. In the case of ESSIAC, it contains natural chemo (sheep sorrel) but equally important, herbs that tell the liver to purge out the toxins.

2. Cesium chloride is available on ebay.(worth researching, and getting expert advice)

3. I do not think anybody has mentioned inhaling essential oils (bowl of hot water and towel over head). Small cell lung cancers start on the inner surface so might respond. Research the oils. If I was investigating this I would start with Rosemary, Jasmine & Tea Tree.

I think the hardest part will be deciding which therapy or therapies to move ahead with full force. For example; it has been estimated that 90% of drugs only work in 30-50% of people (see video below for source). Thank you Foxie and members for all the good information and hugs. Regrettably I've been sort of out of it. During and directly after my last post I had what amounts to a mild heart attack...a clot causing pain in my jaw and requiring me to take my first self administered dose of nitroglycerin. Needless to say I've been seeing doctors regarding this situation as to it being caused by my heart condition or my cancer (tumor wrapped around my pulmonary artery). They determined it was my heart condition and I must have had a clot in my heart that created that situation. The nitroglycerin did help and the clot must have passed allowing the blood in my heart to flow as needed.

As a result I had the worst headache caused by the nitroglycerin which is common from that. I've also been have stomach problems eating anything is difficult even though I know I need to eat I'm having a problem doing so.

My grandson and his mom and dad will be leaving California for the mountains of the Appalachians next Saturday. I've been very blessed with a wonderful support team of friends who are sharing of themselves and doing all they can to assist me as there are many things I just can't do right now. Pacing is even hard for me now.

I think every day starting Monday I will be seeing one doctor or another for a battery of more tests and procedures and by the grace of God will eventually help me get better. But at this time my writing and sharing is starting to become scarce. Please know however I have been reading here and thank you all for all the information. My intention today was to add a post here as I'm feeling a bit better today. But spent all my energy on a post in another thread and it's time to rest now. Just wanted to say thank you all for the energy sent my way...I think it really worked the other day when I became so sick I thought I would have to go the emergency room again but somehow made it through and started feeling much better the next day.

Thanks for all your posts and well wishes. My son and his family are leaving California tomorrow and I'm so grateful for that.

Good Morning,

Well today is the day. After what I'm about to share I have to say to those of you who advise against the path I've chosen so far I have to say...I'm not rich nor can I afford to seek some of the things that I'm sure are every bit as good as conventional medicine but I just cannot afford it. I'm on temporary disability and yes I have medical insurance. But that insurance does not fund many of the things that have been recommended. There are some I plan on seeking out however I assure you.

What I have to do is combine conventional medicine with the alternative that will seem to compliment each other. Hence the Turkey Tail Mushroom therapy. But here's the thing...I need to get this under control asap as this one large tumor is starting to effect my breathing not to mention the pain that is associated.

So here is where is starts and it starts today. I will not get radiation. First of all I have too many tumors and even the doctor will not advise it for that reason alone but I have extreme reservations about radiation in the first place.

AS for the chemo treatments...they start today because I have to get these tumors especially the largest one under arrest. They should have started last week but I had to deal with:

That would be my current health insurance plan. Everyone asked me last week how the chemo went....I did not have my chemotherapy on Tuesday of last week when it was scheduled because the insurance company had not approved it yet. When I called they said it takes up to 15 day unless it's marked urgent...which it was along with 45 pages of doctors notes,pathology reports, scans and office notes. So now if I'm lucky, after hours on the phone... it might be approved by the beginning of the next week if they can get to it and determine if I qualify for the urgent status. Say what?!

I have a tumor 8 cm by 7 cm wrapped around my pulmonary artery and my doctor wanted me to get the first treatment asap before I had a port put in my chest for the delivery of the chemo medicine. Why? Because this is a life threatening situation! The port sits under my skin in my upper chest. So I got my port put in on Wednesday during a raging snow storm at 8AM while waiting for the policy-making people who do the approvals to determine that it's urgent enough to approve even though my doctor has decided it was. In the meantime this fast spreading cancer type I have (small cell) is running amok in my system!

You should have heard the non caring individual I personally spoke with at this insurance company. I threatened that I would be writing to the BBB and the Insurance Commission if this is not approved by Monday. It's not as though I'm already a nervous emotional wreck with all of this on top of a heart condition! They need to do some work on their approval system where certain conditions apply.

I'll tell you it doesn't matter how sick you are, you need to be proactive with insurance company's because they don't care one bit how sick you are as long as they can justify their decisions. Of course they loved getting that money every month I paid into it! They just can't return the love eh?

Just a little FYI... If you ever have a problem with your insurance approval getting done in a timely manner....just threaten them with the Insurance Commissioner and BBB. I got my approval the following morning. After an hour and a half getting the information to the persons who needed it for my treatments... I start on Monday (today). Mind you it took another hour and a half between all parties to get that going or they would not know until they received the approval in the Mail. They do not fax the approvals, or email them. I had to get the approval codes and codes for the treatments. By the time I get done with this I will be an expert in insurance approvals!

So here we are Monday. Scheduled for blood work, oncology visit then straight to the chemo at 1:30.

I woke up at 4AM and got a message from a very old Avalon member from the original Avalon and I'm not sure but I don't believe she ever transferred to this newer Avalon as I think she simply gave up on forums for the most part. But she sent me a message today and I have to say it's exactly what I needed to hear. To anybody who gets this disease of this magnitude you may say now you're not afraid of dying. But believe me you do not want to die this way...nor do I. It's scary as hell!

So after what I have just described as the Bureaucracy here pretty much sums up how I feel.

Just one last note; Chemo is not as bad as it used to be they tell me. They say I may not even lose my hair. It's gotten much gentler but none the less it's extremely effective in shrinking tumors and is exactly what I need at this time with the largest one in my lung that need to happen.

And here is the best reason I had for starting my thread...so we can get people together on some of this stuff when it arises. Cancer is not a discriminatory disease and can strike at any time as it did with me. I went from ultra healthy to deathly sick in no time flat.

The speed at which this particular kind of cancer spreads is unbelievable. Just in the time from when I left the hospital with my heart attack till I entered the oncologist office was unfathomable. In a weeks time a tumor in one of my lymph nodes started to surface in my neck and it's about an inch and a half wide and a bit soar to the touch. Not to mention the ones in my abdominal area and a few other lymph nodes.

It's overwhelming to say the least when you don't know a thing about what is going on inside your body...you just know it's really bad and needs to be arrested.

The first thing I did after I found out was read up what I could about lung cancer and the various types. While I prayed that they were not the small cell type that is rare was not what i had it ends up exactly what I have. And of course the prognosis in extremely high for recurrence even if I go into complete remission. I cannot have the largest tumor removed as it's inoperable where it sits and I'm just stuck with hoping the chemotherapy kills it.

So on the third day after Chemo I can actually sit down and write this as yesterday it would have been impossible between trips to the bathroom and bouts of sleep I had to do to rest as my body was under attack but this medicine that is supposed to shrink and remove my tumors. Nothing it this world can prepare you for that even if you've taken the 2 hour introductory course before the treatments start which I did.

Stress: I didn't realize how much stress I was under until they finally subscribed me a medicine to relieve the stress which also helps with the nausea. I was a walking ball of stress about everything! I would cry at the drop of a hat and swore I was strong enough to handle this on my own. Well that turned out not to be true. Too many things come at you all at once lest of all the financial aspects when you work and are now not working and depend on that income to live. Fortunately I have temporary and long term disability through my work which will see me through until I can get my social security disability which I now qualify for. It seems Small Cell Cancer is a fast track to getting your disability assured. It's listed under "Compassionate Allowance". It also means they give you this because they expect your life with small cell to be short enough to accommodate this disability. Which to someone with Small Cell cancer means they expect you to die sooner than not and is pretty depressing.

I sure would like to be the exception to that and outlive their expectancy!

Okay I've said enough today and am still recovering from the chemo I just went through. Next week I get a break...no chemo then the following week we start again.

I'll write more on some of this and the stuff I've personally had to deal with regarding doctors and the various things that I found a bit odd and out of the norm and of course things to watch for.

Good evening, and welcome Vern! How nice it is to see you! Hope you and the family are well.


So let me tell you a week ago when I did my last post I had just had my second treatment of chemo. Apparently I was overdosed with the chemo and got extremely sick from it. My stomach and intestine were on fire and that is no exaggeration! My blood pressure dropped to 92/79 which is normally 130/89. And in one week I literally lost 8 lbs. for a total now of 15 lbs to date since I entered the hospital with my heart attack.

My next treatment will be next week at a lower dose. and I had to be given some medications to help my stomach and intestinal track get back to normal. It was simply a nightmare of 7 days straight until I got to the oncology office for my blood work.

I'm just starting to feel human again for the first time. Even sleeping was disrupted by the constant extreme bloating and cramping in my belly. I finally got some sleep last night and most of the bad symptoms are fading now but that was rough. It makes you wonder how people lived through chemo when it first came out and how much to dose each particular person...because everyone is different.

My doctor said we want to kill the cancer tumors not you...I said will thank you! Sheesh!

Well at least I can get into my size 8 jeans again! But what a price!

I have noticed that my breathing is not so hard and I'm not wheezing like I was so perhaps the tumor in my lung is shrinking? I sure hope so after all that! If they can shrink the larger tumors I will not have to take the pain medications and that will be a plus. Crossing fingers here!

Anyhow again thank you all for the well wishes and the link Matisse added I will now be able to look into as this past week was just a blur.

You know me too well Vern...I think I cried about the lack of coffee for a whole day! Me without coffee is almost life shattering! :ranger: One of my few vices. LOL But it's just not going to happen with the chemo. Just does not work at all. Someone gave me some tea that supposedly tastes like coffee but it was not even close.

Right now it's water and lots of it and I'm able to do some teas that are mild. Another friend is sending me some homemade honey from one of their hives so I'm looking forward to that to flavor my tea.

Perhaps when and if I get off this chemo for awhile I can have some coffee again. A day I will celebrate for sure! :coffee:

Two of these practitioners include Dr W Douglas Brodie, founder of the Reno Integrative Medical Center in Nevada, USA and Dr Ryke Geerd Hamer, a German physician and founder of German New Medicine. Both of these practitioners claim to have examined thousands of cancer patients in reaching this conclusion. More specifically, Dr Ryke Geerd Hamer proposes that each cancer in the body has a different emotional cause which he had identified; in other words the emotional cause for cancer of the left breast is different to that of the right breast and to cancer of the colon, etc. In my own personal experience in treating hundreds of cancer patients to heal the root psycho-emotional cause of their disease, it has been my observation that Dr Ryke Geerd Hamer's theory that each cancer has a different and very specific psycho-emotional cause is 100% accurate. Similarly, I always find a woman presenting with uterine cancer has experienced a "sexual conflict" 2 years prior to the diagnosis of cancer, and so on. On a personal level, my own mother [who was diagnosed with cancer of the left breast in 1992] experienced a psycho-emotional trauma 2 years prior in 1990 involving the death of her mother, in line with Dr Hamer's theory. I remember her telling me at the time she felt like a zombie for many months. As is typical with patients I see, my mother had a tendency to over-react to most difficulties in life and was always highly stressed, and it is this hypersensitivity to life's stressors that makes one susceptible to cancer. Dr W Douglas Brodie reveals it is not the stressful event that causes cancer, but our inability to cope with life stress.

Hay there...did I mention that chemo sucks? Well it does. Several people have warned me off of it so far but I do have to say few things. One is I can't afford any treatments that are not approved by my insurance company and because of the nature of that one tumor that is so large and wrapped around my pulmonary artery it was a medical emergency to get it going to shrink it because it is not only causing extreme pain it was causing me problems breathing....let alone the fact that if it pressed any tighter around my pulmonary artery it could kill me quickly.

Now I have to take my third chemo treatment today but at a lower dose as the last dose was just too much as I explained. But here is some good news. I think it's working! I've stopped wheezing so badly and can breathe much better and while the pain is still there, it is not as intense. So this makes me think it is actually shrinking! MY god I hope so! I would hate to have to go through any of this for nothing!

Also due to the nature of this type of cancer (Small cell) and the stage I was in (Stage 4...meaning it has spread everywhere...my abdomen, several lymph nodes in my neck and chest area it was growing extremely fast as this type of cancer is known to be the most aggressive. I didn't have time to think about what to do, I had to act fast to gain some control before is spread to my brain, bones or liver which as of my diagnosis it has not gone there yet.

Onevoice; that article is quite correct. Trauma and stress is a huge factor in most health problems and I am quite certain that applies to me. Last March a friend of mine who is a therapist and writes for a psychology magazine wrote an article on the effects of PTSD and grief. I read the article and got hold of her and told her she could have been writing that article about me...over the loss of my son who was a friend of hers as well. She said she had no doubt that I might be suffering PTSD over the loss of my son. Then later in that year someone actually told me I needed to clear the block in my heart as it was causing me distress and screwing with my overall energy. So it was no surprise when my heart attack I had December 6th was due to a blocked LAD artery...and I have two other blocks in two other arteries in my heart that are partially blocked and they are watching them as I might have to have another stint put in to clear them if they become a problem.

So thank you Onevoice for adding that article as that is so important to your health and I have no doubt it's is true and very correct. All of this is probably been brought on by the stress of losing my son in 2012....something I just can't seem to shake...but I'm working on it too.


I hear my grandson waking up so I'm going to go spend some time with him before I'm off for my next dose of chemo. ARGH!!!

I am still a prisoner to my daily pills....but hey better than feeling bad! One thing at a time I suppose.

Good Morning!

I tried to do a post 3 days ago and lost the whole thing! How aggravating that is. I shall try again!

Lower dose chemo seems to be okay for me. I can actually function and enjoy my family here! My 10 month old grandson took his first steps by himself and we got it on video! He is the most precious little guy. I swear this is a blessing to be with him at this time. My son got a job and started last week so that's a good thing.

I have to say that living with this has brought a whole new perspective on what is truly important and what can wait till later as the days go by just too fast.

What I had posted and lost was about some of the research on cancer that I've been doing. Did you know they are using quantum physics to kill cancer now? I kid you not!

There is a new kind of radiation that bypasses everything inbetween and targets only the tumor! It's called Proton Therepy.

Proton therapy is a type of radiation treatment that uses protons to treat cancer. It’s also called proton beam therapy.

A proton is a positively charged particle. At high energy, protons can destroy cancer cells.

Proton therapy is a type of external-beam radiation therapy. It painlessly delivers radiation through the skin from a machine outside the body. A machine called a synchrotron or cyclotron speeds up the protons. The protons’ speed determines the energy level. High-energy protons travel deeper in the body than low-energy ones.

The protons go to the targeted place in the body. There, they deposit the specific radiation dose in the tumor.

With proton therapy, radiation does not go beyond the tumor. In contrast, with photon-based external-beam radiation therapy, x-rays continue depositing radiation as they exit the body. Now not to get too ahead of myself but in the area of medicine I've always held the belief that there is in this universe a technology that I was somewhat made aware of that used physics to heal the body. Good Morning,

Haven't been posting much as there is not much good to share. I lost 7 pounds in one week last week for a total now of 25 pounds...and the chemo is taking it's toll. Rather than sharing the obvious miserable nature I've somewhat stayed away from posting anything. But today I get my first MRI to see what progress the chemo is having on my tumors. . I'm trying but it's hard and life just sometimes does not want to give you a break. Let's hope the MRI comes out good and I can at least say this is doing me some good.

On my way to the MRI appointment now. Thank you everyone for your posts and thoughts. I will get the results next Monday. Crossing fingers here...let's hope this is worth the toll.

Good Morning!

Well I'm happy to report I did not have to have an MRI on the 15th. I was quite pleased to see it was just a CAT scan. Non the less I had to drink this rather large glass of banana flavored barium and have some kind of contrast inserted into my veins but it was much better than the MRI I was expecting. Next month I get the MRI for my brain. I just don't like being stuck in that tube!

I'm also feeling better as the effect of Mondays chemo is wearing off and I my stomach feels better. I get a break this coming week from the chemo which is the best part of all this. My chemo goes like this. One week of camptosar and carboplatim. Then the next week just the Carboplatin....then I get a week rest before doing it over again. I've had four rounds now and of course now they want to see how it's worked.

I'm quite hopeful that it is working because as I reported I'm not wheezing and am not coughing like I was in the beginning. There is however considerable pain involved with the tumor which requires regular pain medication along with the regiment of more medications than I've ever taken in my whole life. But given the heart condition and the stint that was placed in my heart I'm in need of all of it.

Some people fare better on the chemo than I am....and can go through the routine quite well. I guess my stomach is just not keyed to this kind of thing. They keep telling me I won't lose my hair but I have noticed it thinning and hope that resides. I did cut off just over 12 inches of my hair as brushing it was near impossible as it was knotting in the back from each time I would lay down and rest. By far however the worst part is the nausea which I have three different kinds of medications to help with that. Of course the nausea effects my eating which of course it causing my weight loss. They wanted to give me something to increase my apatite and I told them there is noting wrong with my apatite. I can eat when I'm not effected by the nausea...so I declined the extra pill for that. It just is what it is. When I'm not sick to my stomach I can eat quite well and have worked to consume as many calories as I can when I can eat. That means I'm going to eat like crazy this week!

So hopefully tomorrow will bring some good news and tell me that large tumor in my lung is decreased and all the lymph nodes in my abdominal area and neck are going away.

I'm looking to add at least another two years here on my life span which is what they say can be expected as to be truthful with small cell lung cancer is the normal rate of expectancy. After two years it would be considered a miracle. Then again I'm down for a miracle! It's a hard fight here but I swear I'm giving it my best! Hopefully I can be back soon to posting about all the absurdity we have been seeing and add to the mix of comments here at Avalon along with all my friends!

So since I'm feeling much better today I'm going to spend some time with my grandson who is a sheer pleasure to have fun with! Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes once again! :heart:

Important to keep that weight up. And you make a quite important point- when we get sick, sometimes all we can focus on is our local area of operation. ;)

Good morning!

It just so happens I bought a large tub of Neapolitan ice cream which I've been digging into. I gained back 2 pounds! Also for my upset stomach pop-cycles are the bomb! they seem to settle my stomach immediately, so I've been seen downing two one after the other!...LOL

Okay results from the CAT scan:

There is some bad news to report and that is they discovered that the cancer has gone to my bones and liver since I had the original pet scan. But the good news is it's showing that in those areas the chemo is killing it. But the very best news is my 8 centimeter tumor that was wrapped around my pulmonary artery as shrunk significantly to 2.5 centimeters. Man was I elated to hear that. Also the lymph nodes with tumors in my neck area are all but gone. The ones in my abdominal area are also significantly shrunk. So I'm responding quite well to the chemo.

Needless to say I was more than willing to do another round of four more treatments. That comprises what I described above. 1 week of the two medicines, then the next week of just the one and a week off till the next round times 4. Then we do another scan. When they asked me if a was on board with that I was more than gleeful to agree to it! Then I paused and just sighed....but it's worth it.

Now there is another concern here about my brain. If that cancer in my bones was not detected on the first scan...it's very possible the same might be relevant to my brian MRI that was last done which did show a tumor on my pituitary gland that they for some reason I don't quite understand determined was not malignant...but they wanted to watch. And if the cancer was not detected but there in my brain it has not been effected by the chemo. Chemo does not effect the brain because of the blood brain barrier. So if there is some malignant tumors there it will require radiation. That scars the crap out of me and I'm just hoping the cancer has not spread to my brain and like my bones and liver was not detected.

So I will try not to stress over it until we get the MRI in two weeks. For now I'm just going to do what I've been doing and go with the chemo and all it's miserable effects until that time. Thank god it's working!

While this sounds like a winning combo there is still the reality that even if I get this in an apparent complete remission small cell lung cancer usually comes back and will require constant monitoring to be sure it does not get out of hand. This is the reason for that two year prognosis that goes along with small cell lung cancer. It's very aggressive and hard to completely kill and lurks until it finds a time to emerge to attack the body which usually ends up badly. If I can get two years more here I will be ever grateful. Who knows...they might find a cure for small cell in that time if I'm lucky!

Now I think I will go attack that tub of Neapolitan! I think Finnegan will be happy to help me. :heart:

Awe to Sunday...Chemo effects are lessening and I just can't wait until the treatment tomorrow! Just kidding. I won't lie...this stuff sucks big time! I spent the better part of this week sleeping because it just wears me out.

I had to start taking a mega dose of vitamin D as my level was at 5 and it should be at 50. That was a little scary...and I was/am particularly weak. Just another pot hole in all of this. :thumbsdown:

Now to change the subject... I am seriously contemplating sharing some information with a rewrite to better understand the material for those who may be interested in a subject I've been working on for quite some time. Now is as good a time as any I suppose. It's a theory on one of my favorite subjects...Time. I've accumulated quite a bit of information on it and am nearly convinced that there is some rationality to what I've gathered. At the very least it certainly describes a pattern that is unique and one may even say holistic in nature.

It also is where I think Mr Goode got the idea for the time traveling geek that he claims....fortunately he did not understand a thing about it when I was writing about it, so he looks like a complete idiot at usual. What I proposed in the information that I know for a fact he was watching me post back in the day was not what he claims....it's far more complex and to a greater degree is actually feasible given the advancements we currently are at among the fields of science. Now if I am correct this does not mean a thing that Mr. Goode claims...it's far bigger and would make him actually look like the idiot he is with his claims. Oh crap! Did I go there? Yes I did...LOL

Anyhow I'm just considering it as...get this...all I have now is TIME on my hands! LOL

At the very least it would actually be fun to consider even if I am wrong!

While I really like Bob that is quite an unusual way of terming what I suppose you might mean as time travel/dilation?

Perhaps he used that terminology to describe the bending of space time? Perhaps he knows of something that has a compression effect one would need for an intense gravitational field, which can be found at the margins of what is popularly called a black hole which is seriously related to and predicts a sufficiently compact mass and can deform spacetime? And that is possibly what is needed stabilize a traversable wormhole? I don't know what he meant by that in that terminology but it's interesting and you got me thinking about it and not my cancer for awhile! LOL

Good Afternoon!

Well let's see...where do I start? On Wednesday I had a brain MRI to see if the tumor on my pituitary gland has not changed or indicates cancer in anyway or that the cancer had not spread to my brain in general. I will find out the results on Monday.

This coming week I get a break on the chemo. As I said before it's two weeks then a break times 4 then I get another CAT scan and hopefully this stuff is gone? Wouldn't that be nice? I did ask if I could go into complete remission and they said yes....so here's to hope!

Yesterday I woke up with a soar throat, laryngitis and an ear ache so they put me on antibiotics and an allergy medicine. No fever but they want to make sure there is no infection that gets out of hand.

I did start to put together my Time thread information but of course am not as fast as I usually am so it may take a week or so. I do hope you enjoy it when I put it out there. It's meant to seriously make you think of the possibilities that exist and indeed the possibilities are endless...or should I say timeless? I will say when I researched certain dates with certain planetary alignments with those events it somewhat blew my mind. It's a lot to take in when I do share it but take note; I do use valid references that will certainly lend some credence to the possibilities.

This week was particularly rough chemo wise. But I'm enduring it! And with any luck at all I will be in remission after the end of this round. At least I'm going in the right direction.

Good morning!

I apologize for the long pause. Oh I wish I could get a spa treatment! I'd give anything to be sitting in a botanical hot pool with the scents and sounds of nature all around.

I've been truthfully having a hard time the last month. ups and downs. An example is I could not do my chemo last week because my blood platelets were too low and I don't want to bleed to death from the chemo treatments. If they are not up by this Monday I will probably have to have a blood transfusion to add some platelets to my blood. I'm guessing it's being caused from the blood thinners for my heart. I'll find out more this coming week when I get a chance to speak with the doctor.

A week from Monday I get another CAT scan and see how the tumors are progressing. I have stopped losing weight which is a good thing. I've been working on eating high calorie and protein foods and even some ice cream which makes me happy.

I think the hardest thing to get over is the fact that I'm just too tired most of the time to do much. For me this is hard as I'm usually very active and the inability to do the things I'd like to do slows me down which I'm just not used to. Every day seems to be about my next dose of medicine.

This is a small glimpse of a somewhat successful stage 4 cancer patient working to fight everyday for my life. After I got my computer up and running great I stepped away from it and didn't even open my laptop for almost a month. But here I am back and hoping I didn't worry you all too much.

This is obviously a personal decision to go the route of chemo and if anybody else here gets this awful disease they can see what one person is going through to fight it going that route of chemo. I must admit I was sent some CBD oil which I am going to probably add to my list of treatments. So many people have recommended it that I simply have to see if it makes a difference. We'll see. I have learned that the chemo with this kind of cancer (small cell lung cancer) will eventually stop working which I've been warned about. Then it seems I qualify for trials. Unfortunately there does not seem to be much information out there on trials for small cell cancer that I can look into and the choice of trials will most likely be up to my doctor.

So far besides the blood platelets problem I'm doing well with the chemo which is a positive...but eventually it will cease to work. Until then I just have to keep searching for what will be next in the fight for my life. The hardest thing to deal with is the occasional depression which pops up every now and then knowing what is ahead at some point in time. That is a total mind bending experience which I would not wish on anybody but this is what every cancer patient with a diagnosis must at some time face.

My last official day of employment is the 6th of this month then I'm officially unemployed which is a strange experience for me as I've worked all my life it seems at some job and this is the longest time I've ever not worked at some job in my life. My temporary disability officially ends then and I guess you could say I'm a free woman! Whoa...another thing to process. Part of me screams with glee then another part is lost as to what to do now. The truth is the only thing I have to do now is heal and this is the hardest thing to accept as this is by far not the easiest thing to do. In fact this is the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

I did start a herb garden on my back porch with some help and it's doing great. It also has some cherry tomatoes and kale which is considered a super food and very good for you. Also a variety of peppers from hot to sweet. Joe would be proud of me eh?

So I'll close for now and later this week I'll send some pics of the garden. It's very therapeutic and keeps me daily in the sunlight which is also good for me.

Heck yeah I am! Any plant or seed that you put out there is a process of creation! It is hard to muster the energy every day, but being able to see things grow out there can help force you to go outside just to reconnect ;)

Hay Joe! Thank you for that link! It has Carboplatin which is one of the drugs I'm on in combination with another one I'm not familiar with. I'm on Camptosar and Carboplatin. This gives me somethings to research! Thank you so much.

When I decided to start it this year given my current condition I just went to a local Lowes to pick up some seeds. Well a great deal of those seeds were no good. They did not grow a thing! I didn't have time to order some from the reliable seed stores online so I went to a local small hardware store that has a reputation for having good seeds. So I got some there and while I was there I picked up a few starters that were there. The tomatoes, and a few pepper plants and the spearmint which is growing crazy!

I stopped by another small hardware store which I had no idea if their plants were any good to get some banana pepper plants and those are not doing so well.

It's really important to get your seeds or starter plants from a reliable source which I know Joe will agree with.

I'm glad you all enjoyed the pics!

Loved 'em, you've got quite the "polyculture" there, multiple interactions happening. And yes, reliable sources are critical for seeds, and especially with plants. Plants improperly stored in a big box store, garden center, or nursery can all potentially be impacted by various bacterial and fungal diseases. So always selected healthy plants and buy seeds from a reputable source that ensures quality control during their seed trials.

Most of the seeds in Lowes and other places like that are the last / remaining /"bottom of the barrel" seeds leftover during processing. Most of the seed varieties for home gardeners come from the bottom of the seed processor (so to speak). For home gardening, you'll have much healthier plants and higher germination rate seeds when ordering from a home gardening supply that specifically grows their own plants for seed production and seed trials. Its kind of complicated :) I like groworganic.com, they're reliable and consistent.

I've had some issues with the widely popular Baker's Creek Heirloom Seeds-- they're hit or miss in terms of germination rates and even in sending me the proper seeds.

Thanks Joe for the advise. I knew better but it was a last minute thing getting a potted garden started in the first place. I had a bad experience several years back from buying bad seeds like that so I knew from the beginning it was a long shot. But while I was there I thought I'd give it a try as I do so love to grow gardens. I think you know this however from the thread I started when I first found your channel. I watched all your gardening videos and gained quite a bit of good information.

I remember a particular flower you intermingled that kept the pests away but while I was at the store I could not remember what it was. So I just picked some different kind of flowering plants to add. Then of course mixing the pots side by side is kind of the same idea as well. I should have planned better but as I said it was a last minute decision and I figured while I was out and about which is not that often anymore as it just wears me out sometimes I should get it started. Then of course when it did not propagate I went to the store that I know for a fact has good seeds and replanted. Many of their seeds are in jars and they scoop them into packets. So far they have been a good bet for me and if I am blessed enough to have another garden next year I will order ahead of time from the link you provided.

Well on my health the good news is my blood produced enough platelets by itself to do my chemo this week. That is a good thing as it means my immune system is still working. I did end up with a kidney infection which they gave me some antibiotics for however. I've rarely ever had to take antibiotics and this is twice now in the last six months. I really don't like doing that and would prefer to let my body take care of infections but with the chemo that is a bit dangerous as it wears on the immune system.

Speaking of immune system a friend reminded me of some things that are going on out there and I when I get the results of my CAT scan on Monday I'm going to ask my doctor about it and see if I qualify for the treatments.

A new hope: the immunotherapy in small cell lung cancer.


Abstract

Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is of a high-grade malignancy with a high metastatic potential and poor clinical prognosis. Unfortunately, SCLC initially exhibits a good response to chemotherapy and radiation therapy, but inevitably, relapses decrease patients' chance of survival. Despite tremendous advances on the development of new chemotherapeutic agents, the prognosis of this disease remains poor. Immunotherapy plays a role in eliciting an anticancer response by modulating the patient's immune response of the tumor. Several studies have demonstrated that abnormal autoimmune regulation has a close relationship with SCLC. Thus, several immunotherapy trials are focused on SCLC treatment, including such approaches as immune checkpoints blockers, tumor vaccine, antigenic targets and adoptive cellular immunotherapy to benefit patients with SCLC. To date, the results from immunotherapy in SCLC have not been promising. For example, tumor vaccines have not been demonstrated to have a significant survival benefit. However, there have been many promising advances with immune checkpoints blockers. This review will provide a general overview of immunotherapy in SCLC. The landmark clinical trials in previous successful immunotherapy studies are summarized here. Finally, the challenges of immunotherapy in SCLC are discussed to facilitate the prediction of possible and valuable strategies for future therapy.

The cancer protocol (and there's a ton of stuff about this online) is:



Day 1: 2 activated drops every hour, 6 or 7 times a day.
Day 2: 3 activated drops every hour, 6 or 7 times a day.
Day 3: 4 activated drops every hour, 6 or 7 times a day.
Day 4: 5 activated drops every hour, 6 or 7 times a day.
Day 5: 6 activated drops every hour, 6 or 7 times a day.
Day 6: 7 activated drops every hour, 6 or 7 times a day.
Then for the next five 5 weeks, 7 drops every 1 hour, 6 or 7 times a day
(maximum 50 drops per day).
Maybe even start straight in at the Day 3 or 4 level. The above is just because some people (certainly not all) need to build up a tolerance. But I've several times gone straight to 15 drops at a time, 3 times a day, to knock out a cold. For me, that works just fine.

You can even add 30 drops at a time to a hot bath, and it's absorbed through the skin. There are a bunch of online sources, easy to find. One small pair of bottles (one is the activator) lasts forever.

Gosh, yeah please consider some alternative treatments:)! Sometimes it's almost impossible to imagine feeling good when you feel so bad...good health seems light years away, but it's often just an arm's length away. MMS, iodine, baking soda are just a few treatments (very cheap) for cancer that come to mind. Very easy to try and very safe too!

I hesitated long before posting, still not sure it was a good idea.... Take the following info as you wish; I have seen enough happening in my family, my wife's family, friend, friend of a friend, friend's family, coworker...

There are 2 paths; not one, not three. Each may come with different flavors but they remain path1, path2

- Path1: very easy - hand over your health to some experts who will keep dicking you around until the game is over. You don't have to do any researching, thinking, life style changes; just sit and submit. The final result is predictable and inevitable. If the game doesn't end in a few months, it will be the following year or the year after or after, it's just a matter of time.

- Path2: not easy - fire the posers, take the matter in your own hands and look for a radically different way of solving the problem. You learn and You walk the walk and get help along the way. It takes determination, courage, perception changes, life style changes; the task is big but certainly not beyond one's capabilities, there is help around. If you do it right, the results will be radically opposed to option1; and if the disease reoccur in a distant future you would know what to do; if you won the battle once you can win it even better and faster a second time and a 3rd time; if a family member gets hit, you would know what to do.

I am going to make a bold statement here... if one acts before the 11th hour, cancer is curable. I have seen people that were in a similar situation as yours (advanced cases with lung c, lymphoma, sarcoma) progressively go back to their regular life. Use the right tools you win the battle, use the conventional tools you cannot win in the long run.

Path2 is not compatible with Path1, trying to combine both might yield bad results. Path2 is not as costly as you might think.

Good Morning,

I have resisted posting for a few reasons. One happens to be that I've had a set back. My scan did not come out well. When that happened they got into gear due to the fact that the chemo stopped working and the cancer has metastasized to my liver and several other areas. To quote the scan report "significant increase in metastatic disease to the liver with multiple new small liver nodules throughout the liver too numerous to count.

Also increased tumors in my lungs and mammary nodes as well and new small lymph nodes which had all but disappeared are now present.

While a presence in the bones that activity is minimal but present non the less.

In other words the remission is stopping and the cancer is progressing.

Now I knew when I researched this type of cancer that this would eventually happen. The chemo would stop working which it did. This is a given with small cell lung cancer.

I appreciated the post from the new member Tomkoyote and I fully understand what you are saying. However in my case this had been a little different. First of all I found this disease at stage 4 during a life threatening heart attack for which I had to have a stint placed in my LAD artery..better known as the widow maker. By the time all that was accomplished the tumor in my lung was so large it was not only inoperable as it was wrapped around my pulmonary artery it was threatening to block my airway and had already partially achieved that. I needed immediate attention and the type of chemo I was give did the trick perfect. It shrank a tumor that was measured at 7 by 8 cm down to 2.5 cm. I was able to breath again. The initial chemo was actually working quite well. But remember this cancer type I have is extremely aggressive and known to resist chemo after a time and come back full strength. Which it has.

I have been seeking alternative methods but must remind you all...when you see these miracle curse for cancer what ever they might be it all depends on the types of cancer they are curing. When an aggressive type such as mine is spreading at break speed it requires immediate attention...diet, supplements and the like may be the right method but the speed with which this is spreading is paramount and requires immediate attention.

They put me on another much stronger chemo which lasted for three straight days. It was extremely strong and ended with a devise on my arm containing a drug called neulasta which self administers the drug 27 hours afterward to help my white blood count which is effected by this very strong chemo.

Now as I've also researched there are no known cure out there for small cell lung cancer. While other types can be put into remission and completely eradicated....such is not the case for SCLC. The 5 year survival rate for stage 4 is depending on the source 1 to 2% and usually comes back within a year or less. Severely cutting that survival rate of 5 years to 2 years at best.

Now nobody is more aware that chemo is bad more than I. In fact I'm in some pretty bad shape right at the moment. In the week I took this three day chemo I lost 10 pounds. I had to go into the infusion center and get myself some fluids replaced and some Aloxi (nausea meds) with a round of steroids. The doctor called yesterday and told me my blood work came back from this Monday showing High creatinine levels meaning my kidneys are not functioning properly and I have to go in and get more fluids today. This is a common problem with this type of strong chemo as an effect. I tried to eat something yesterday and took two bites and promptly had to stop as the pain it was causing my stomach was too severe. I had to sleep sitting up as my stomach fluids were coming up and choking me as I would fall asleep and the only way I could sleep without that happening is sitting up. I finally was able to get past that last night and was able to sleep without that effect.

Yes....no doubt about it Chemo is the worst. But and I stress this as strongly as possible...when you get a report that your liver a very vital organ is in the process of becoming Swiss Cheese and we should all know the liver does not regenerate itself...it requires desperate measures. That desperate measure is a heavy dose of chemo to stop the progression.

Now I have a pretty good doctor, In fact I don't know how I lucked out but he is rated as one of the best in the area. He does not want me doing anymore chemo either. When he saw me on Monday after the treatment he said he would reserve giving anymore unless it's absolutely necessary...and if he does it would be at half dose.

He wants me to go into immunotherapy with a drug called OPDIVO in combination with another drug....I can't remember the name of the other drug. It's been very successful in the eradication of several different types of cancer. Through trials it's been approved by the FDA as a far better treatment than chemo. But due to the nature of SCLC it has not been fully approved. Apr 19, 2018 the FDA Grants Opdivo Priority Review for Small Cell Lung Cancer...this is not an approval just a review for trials.

Okay then. When you have reached the level of qualifying for trials this means there is not much more they can do and now if luck is with you, you are providing a service while working to get better.

This is where I'm at. My doctor had applied for the medicine Opdivo but due to the bureaucracy of insurance company rules he has to apply first through the insurance company and get turned down (it will be as a trial study) and it has to be appealed and turned down a second time for me to get the free meds from the manufacturer. This process in in the works now for my medical case study to start the trial.

I pray before the two weeks before another round of chemo is possible they get this done. My doctor knows I'm fighting this with all I have but there is only so much you can do. He is doing his best to get me that medicine.

The fact is Opdivo kills cancer. I have a very aggressive type of cancer and it needs killing.

I am doing alternative methods as well but however the MMS had to wait a week or two as my stomach is in no shape for it at the moment due to the strong chemo I just had. I will be doing this probably by next week when this all settles down. I'm still taking the Mushroom supplements which I had quit for a time and taking CBD oil as well.

Joe had mentioned to me not to get the kind of CBD oil with coconut oil additive. Unfortunately that is the kind I have. Joe if you get the time I need to know why this is not preferred. Should I stop taking it? What is the difference that you suggest is not good?

I hesitated making this post as delivering bad news was not something I relished. But there you have it. I started this thread for several reasons...one to let people know about the jaw pain that women get from heart attacks which is not widely reported and should be know by woman. I also wanted to journal what it's like having a pretty much terminal type of cancer and working through it. Working to fight it and hoping to overcome it if that is at all possible. But make no mistakes...this kind of cancer is not the kind that is forgiving.

I won't lie, I'm a bit scared. It's not dying that I'm afraid of btw...it's facing this horrible disease and going through it that I'm worried about. Shoot if I die I know there are two people waiting to welcome me and take me home. I must also say that is a welcoming thought that keeps me hopeful as I miss them very much and the day we reunite is going to be wonderful. I will also be free of this horrible disease and pain free which will be a tremendous relief. I don't talk much about the pain but it exists which I've been medicating with opiates for and will apparently continue to do until it's time to go. I know some people feel opiates are bad....but in my case it's a great relief and much needed.


Please don't feel sorry for me as it's not sympathy I'm seeking here. I know everyone thinks there is a way to beat this and I will give it my best shot but facing reality has to come into play and until this disease has found a cure and they figure out some way to regenerate the liver I'm stuck with facing this reality.

I'm one of many who face these challenges everyday. Some much younger than me and it breaks my heart every time I see the young ones at the infusion center where I get my chemo. I also feel that in the near future I will not be up to writing much as this new level of treatment is going to prevent that. This is why I'm sharing this now.

I want to convey that it's with great gratitude that I've been blessed with your friendships and caring advise and support here.

Joe had mentioned to me not to get the kind of CBD oil with coconut oil additive. Unfortunately that is the kind I have. Joe if you get the time I need to know why this is not preferred. Should I stop taking it? What is the difference that you suggest is not good?


Thanks for the update- Keep taking it-- the issue with the coconut oil additive is that it is difficult for the body to digest, so much of the CBD oil doesn't get absorbed. It won't hurt you, however your body just won't absorb as much of the CBD. I will send you a PM.

Hi guys!

Sorry I've been working on something and in that I will share it shortly. It's done...That something I've told you before to keep an eye out for.

I've also been dealing with the effects of a very powerful chemo that took its toll on me and I spent too much time sleeping. I still have one more round of this intensive chemo then a CT scan to see the results before I go onto the immunotherapy. So next tues,weds, and thurs I will be receiving the last of that chemo ....thank God!

I had no idea anybody had been posting here in fact. Sorry I've just been between chemo effects and working to complete something I've been working on for a very long time...10 years in fact...I just did not see it.

@ Dennis...I've been working on that other treatment and am hoping it's effects will take hold. I did get your last email but simply have been too sick to reply and yes have indeed taken heed to your message. When I say I've been sick I mean it. Weak and for some reason cold to the bone. While temperatures here have been high I have been wrapped in a blanket! Jeez it really sucks...but I'm surviving it if that is any consequence. I'm not giving up and I'm a fighter so with all I've got I hope to kick it's butt!

Again thank you all for the warm messages I've missed and I will keep sharing with more regularity as to how I'm handeling the new trial I was approved for.

I am doing alternative methods as well but however the MMS had to wait a week or two as my stomach is in no shape for it at the moment due to the strong chemo I just had.

Perhaps, this is something you haven't considered... and, I don't mean to be just another person giving you advice. Because, I can only imagine that you've had plenty of that.

But one thing that I've done before is take MMS via an enema. It works. And, it avoids going through a delicate stomach. I was amazed with the number of parasites that I saw being flushed out of my lower tract.

At first it came to me as an intuition, then I seriously started to study it's meanings. Then I doubted what I had found. Then just recently it hit me and I took a second look and found what I was looking for. It does indeed contain things that should not be there. Which I've added and proven by the words of the scholars that studied it themselves.

It's a thread about an Egyptian tomb I found to be quite interesting. Every Egyptian scholar that has studied it cannot make sense of it. It fact it does not make sense in those areas as it's been visibly hacked sometime before it's discovery in 1925. What is in it is some interesting notations which I found, and if you were to perhaps make sense of it, it indeed has a message which was not the intended one from the 18th dynasty. That message however is not from even the time of 1925 it's discovery...but looks to be from the future.

Yes I said future. How can that be? I found it contained published proof from the future that during the time of it's discover has not been thought of or published. Well in 1961 it was published and that is quite interesting. You would have to invoke the "unproven paradox theorem" to establish that.

Possible....but from the other things that are within that tomb I have a feeling not. They seem to suggest otherwise as to given dates that are present within that tomb as well. This was the part in fact that led me to think that it was hacked and the formula instated.

Good morning,

Thank you Amanda. I had a particular rough day yesterday after the doctor's visit. My conversation with the doctor has led me to understand things I perhaps have turned a blind eye to. That would be the fact that small cell lung cancer in stage 4 and the rapid spread as has been my experience after the previous chemo I had says this is indeed the nature of this rapid spreading type of cancer. All of the alternative recommendations and the treatments I'm receiving from my physician do not change one very important fact. That is small cell lung cancer is incurable. That's right. I will never be cured. Not ever.

It can be treated. To extend a person's life and perhaps improve quality of life. But it cannot be cured. It's the nature of this type of cancer. No matter who tells you what as to miracle cures. Some have indeed beat the odds as to survivor rate and lived longer than the disease statistics report....it still does not change the fact that what I am walking with is indeed incurable.

In my case it also is taking it's best shot at me. It's spreading while on chemo which has occured is why they put me on the stronger chemo. On August 6th I get another CT scan to see the results...if the results are good enough, I will be put on immunotherapy. For small cell lung cancer this is considered a trial...which is basically a test to see how it responds. But first they have to see that the rapid spreading that has occured during my previous chemo has subsided and is reversing with the new chemo.

When I express that I am fighting this it's to quell the rapid spread and I know that this will indeed be an ongoing affair with treatments until the treatments no longer can get ahead of the spreading. Then this evolves to something I choose not to face yet. But I know the day is coming. So I choose to be in denial of that fact while I fight it. If I recognize that fact it has already won. When my body stops responding to things such as building up it's own white blood count that is when it's time to face reality. Until then I just have to survive and plug away. But make no mistakes...in the recesses of my mind I know this is going to come. I just hope I can push it to the limits and not allow my body to be overtake yet. But it eventually will.

Mind you while I say this I'm not all that as to being strong...believe me as recent as yesterday I will break down and have a total meltdown. That is what it is to be human in this condition. In fact I've done that several times during this condition I have. Most people want to have some sort of control in their life. This is one of those things you lose control of and just have to concede...to do you best to carry on and survive. Beating the odd is the goal. Until they discover a cure for this type of cancer...those are the choices.

So I don't speak much of the complete mental breakdown part but it happens without a doubt. I spend most of my time working to divert my mind to things other than.....such as finishing my thread was an example. It took my mind off it for awhile and provided sort of a mental therapy and that does work for the mental aspects. I certainly don't want to die but the reality is in fact I am going to die from this in due time. Small cell lung cancer is in fact a death sentence. I just choose to fight for a longer life than it would afford me.

I have shared this with some here now I will share it here. This is the reality of what is happening to me and what I am fighting. This is my last scan. Not the stuff you want to hear. Also the reason for the upgraded chemo which is taking its toll on me as well. Mind you they cut the dose and I am handling it so far. Let's hope my next scan shows good results and I can indeed go on that trial. Last Friday I came very close to entering myself into the emergency room with extreme pain in the area of my liver...mind you I'm on some powerful pain medication prescribed by my palliative care team that works with the meds I take which amounts to 20 pills a day....many of which are for my heart as well. Several times I've said to myself I live pill to pill every day. That is no joke. That's just the reality.

In this report they speak of "scattered ground glass"...that is the development of new yet small tumores getting ready to develop. My liver has so many small tumors/nodules there were too many to count. Which this chemo I'm getting ready to start again tomorrow has the task to shrink. The pain I had on Friday was the tumors on my liver shrinking and tearing on the edges causing severe pain. It did subside and is now just a dull pain. Imagine how painful that would be without the pain medication I'm on.

There are times I must confess I'm scared as hell as this is so out of my control as to how it behaves while taking over my body. When all you have to do is fight it...that is when you have to stop letting the inevitable occur and do everything that IS WITHIN YOUR POWER to fight this horrible disease. That is the side I have worked to show you here. But believe me I'm human and this is shaky ground I walk on. I break down often enough within the confines of my mind and it's not pretty.

While it was not my intention to seek sympathy, this is often the result of disclosing such a condition. I do so to let people know if they should have friends, family or self, God forbid it happens and often leads to some of the thoughts I've expressed in the previous post. No one really wants to face it but it's indeed part of life when one has incurred such a fate as I have.

I also wanted to mention that as mentioned in the video I provided, that I have been offered much stronger pain meds as he has suggested in the video. I just refuse them at this time. I do so for mental cognition. I don't want to be totally drugged out. While I do take an opiate for pain... I take Hydrocodone 10-325 milligrams every four hours. For some reason it does not seem to make me feel completely drugged out and as a result I do experience a modicum of pain...but I'd rather be more cognitive with some tolerable pain. I know the time will come when I will have to start taking the stronger stuff and I told them I will let them know when that time is.

I also refused the recommended medications for depression. I know that stuff can be bad for you and I don't need to experience some unnecessary mind crap! I do take a very mild anti anxiety medicine that doubles as a nausea medicine...which does help. I do not take it all the time though as it makes me tired.

I just thought afterward that the video said what it said and I do not use that medication and have thus refused them .....not yet anyhow.

I never wrote to you personally, but always read your posts. I think you are a considerate woman, very intelligent, outspoken, and bringing a lot into this world.

I am very sorry about this cancer eating up as much as it can. My cousin is actually with the same situation and has gone on imunotherapy. I see the difficulties and the suffering.

I want to thank you for all those posts and for writing up your experiences. They always bring me great insights and inspiration.

Good morning!

Been too long for the updates but I've been kicking back with some friends of mine at another forum that I'd not been in contact with for a while and am glad I've had the opportunity to do so.

So what's going on...

The chemo I'm on seems to be doing it's thing as it's shrinking my tumors on my liver and causing extreme pain. The doctor says the tumors are encapsulated causing tearing around the edges which is causing the pain from some inflammation caused by the shrinking. So I guess while that is a good thing...it's been quite painful!

I had a CT scan last Monday and get the results tomorrow. Hoping I can go on the immunotherapy with the results.

As I mentioned in the first post regarding the mushrooms and Paul Stamets...one of my personal heros. I have to again say I attribute much of my fighting system to this guy and his medicinal mushrooms.

Turkey Tail mushroom (Trametes Versicolor) - Used in Asia to fight cancer and its main property that they attribute to it's immune strengthening properties...



Polysaccharide-K (Krestin, PSK) is a protein-bound polysaccharide isolated from the fruitbody of Trametes versicolor.

The analogous compound PSP, is derived from the "COV-1" strain of Trametes versicolor.

Polysaccharide peptide (PSP) is a protein-bound polysaccharide extracted from the edible mushroom Coriolus versicolor. PSP is currently in the animal-testing phase of research in many countries for use as an anti-tumor drug. It appears to work as a biological response modifier (BRM), enhancing the body's own use of macrophages and T-lymphocytes, rather than directly attacking any tumors.

Polysaccharide Krestin (PSK) was first isolated in Japan in the late 1960s while PSP was isolated about 1983 in China. Each compound has shown remarkable anticancer properties with few side effects. By 1987 PSK accounted for more than 25% of total national expenditure for anticancer agents in Japan.

Now I could go into a whole slew of explanations of this mushroom...but basically it's natures immunotherapy. The very thing that my doctor wants me to go on. So in conjunction with the Opdivo and the supplements of Turkey Tail mushrooms I'm taking I think this should work splendidly.

I had about a two hour talk with a friend the other night and the first thing I let him know and he noticed as well is that while my body is sick with cancer tumors...my life force/Chi is as strong as ever. Yes I do get tired..very tired in fact when doing this chemo. This last week in fact was mostly sleeping for me. I get up for a few hours then have to sleep. Also chills from the inside very noticable. But my chi is in fact intact and fighting the effects with sleep. Because we all know when you're sleeping you are in a state of another kind. That other kind involves heavily your life force/Chi. The life force takes over when sleeping to protect the body from overworking itself while maintaining that life force which can indeed replenish the body.

So today so far I feel like I'm coming out of the Chemo Coma I've been in for the last two weeks since I had the treatment and feel better. hoping the scan I had on Monday give good news and I can move on to the immunotherapy. I know the doctor wants the tumors shrunk to some degree to begin the immunotherapy..as it takes some time and the tumors may indeed grow when I start it. Now all that said...it helps the immune system to fight the growth. But does it completely kill the cancer? Not yet...as it can indeed come back depending on what kind you have. I have the kind that is aggressive and probably will indeed come back. So I may be on this for quite some time. But with proper nutrition and the right kind of supplements I can increase my longevity. I just saw in a group I belong to of lung cancer patients...where a woman with SCLC has reached the three year mark with Opdivo. That is a remarkable feat as this disease is not known for that kind of longevity. So I'm very hopeful as I mentioned my life force/Chi is strong and as long as that is apparent I think I will be around for quite some time. That is the plan anyhow...and I'm far from giving up despite the despair I've come to know as well.

I also want to add this as indeed I just went through this and this could perhaps help others that may indeed go through the same thing:

I wanted to address something that is rather important to anybody that gets a debilitating disease or illness that causes you to lose your job as that is indeed what happened to me. This is also for people living in the United States.

When I first got sick I was working. Fortunately my job provided through the company temporary disability which held me through until June. After that they provided a long term disability which I did qualify for. The long term disability only provides for 60% of my previous income which is certainly not enough.

Knowing I was in this for a long haul I called Social Security and they advised me due to the situation I would most likely qualify for Social Security Disability...which in fact I did. For some strange reason this type of cancer I have _ Small Cell Lung Cancer qualifies me for a fast track to their disability program. But there was a 90 day waiting period for that. They suggested that I apply for my Social Security (a lower amount) until the disability went into effect. Which I did.

So it's a good thing I looked into this early while I was collecting my temporary disability from the company I was working for. It actually worked out quite well for me as the month that my temporary disability stopped...my Social Security Disability took hold.

Unfortunately the long term disability provided by my company was affected by the Social Security Disability payment and they reduced that 60% income to a flat $100.00 a month which has tax taken from it and is around 95.00. I was lucky in the fact that I worked for pretty much all my life and due to my high income in the past when I was in the business sector I paid high amounts to my social security deductions which qualified me for their highest benefit income. Which believe me is not that much...but enough to barely survive I suppose.

So the next step...when you get Social Security Disability and this is very important...you will not get medicare until 12 months have passed or you turn 65 whichever happens first. Lucky I turn 65 in September.

So when my temporary disability ended for the long term disability that did not include my insurance coverage. So my insurance coverage ended in June as well. I had to sign up for COBRA which continues your coverage as long as you pay the amount designated by the insurance coverage you have. Of course I had to do that as all my deductible had been met and pretty much all my medical expenses are now covered including my drug coverage.

The problem with COBRA is you of course end up paying far more for your insurance coverage to continue. For me it's $558.00 a month. Of course I cannot continue to pay that as that would take a huge chunk of my Social Security Disability which is all I have to live on.

Fortunately in my case I turn 65 in September and this is the last month I've paid into my COBRA coverage and will begin Medicare in September.

So the next step:

Due to the amount of medical care I need I had to sign up for coverage that would pay more than the 80% coverage that comes with medicare part A & B.

Part B is optional and if you want it ...it costs $134.00 a month. So just the basic coverage at 80% reduces my Social Security Disability by that amount.

Due to the high costs of my care...I needed a supplement plan. Now this is important... Don't be confused by all the different insurance company's sending you their offers for a plan and the various costs. Go straight to the medicare sight online or call them. They will help you. Here are the FACTS...

For me getting Part G plan covers everything except the 183.00 deductible on Part B. If you only look into certain insurance companies they will give you prices for Part G from $165.00 to $86.00. So what's the difference between the price plans? NOTHING! Absolutely nothing. No matter what insurance company you go to for your part G coverage....the coverage is EXACTLY THE SAME. Do not let the insurance company providing coverage for you tell you otherwise. If they do report them to the Bureau of Insurance as they are indeed lying!

So I of course chose the $86.00 a month. DUH!!!

Pricing for this kind of coverage is based on the State you live in and while they can charge different amounts...the coverage is the same. So it would behoove you to go with the lowest cost based on that factor.

Now...Part G does not cover drugs. Nor does Part A & B...so here you go again! You need another coverage. And of course in my case that includes all the drugs I take so again I'm telling you to go the medicare site and/or call and get help with them as they are there to help you and they will input all the drugs you are currently taking and input them which gives you all the various plans and their coverages.

So today I just finished all my medicare and Drug coverage which is Part D. Part D for the coverage I choose will be deducted from my Social Security Disability or you can be billed...for the amount of $62.00 for the one I choose. There are various Part D coverages to choose from through the Medicare site.

So some important things to know: If you sign up at 65 for a Medicare supplement plan...no matter what plan you choose there are no pre existing medical conditions. You can change it during the enrollment period in October....but then you ARE subject to pre existing conditions. So let's say you choose one plan then find you do in fact get cancer or something else that requires heavy hospital bills and medical care...then you want to change that plan to Part G which in fact covers everything except the $183.00 deductible an drug overage...you are subject to pre existing and the cost may indeed increase. Just a little FYI.

For me it's a no brainer as I'm already sick and need the highest coverages.

There is also Medicaid...which I do not qualify for as my Social Security Disability income being on the higher end does not give me that and I do in fact have to pay for all the additional coverages. But this plan will indeed help you with medical bills if you do qualify. When applying it does not hurt to look into it. Medicaid is also run by the individual state you live in and coverage can vary.

The reason I'm telling you all this is because when you get sick...the last damned thing you need to be worried about is medical bills but believe me you will! I hope this helps anybody that needs to apply for any kind of medical coverage when that happens. I'm telling you this also because I went through all the pitfalls of learning this about the various coverages and indeed Part G does cover it all except as I said above the deductible (183.00) and drug coverages. I actually made an appointment with an insurance agent in the beginning only to find him selling me a plan that indeed cost MUCH MORE and I still would have ended up paying for Doctor visits a fee of $20.00 and specialists $40.00. Had I not taken the time to research it I may have been fooled and I don't want to see anybody else end up with that.

I just hope it helps someone else...I didn't have any help and had no idea where to start... Add to that I was far too sick to deal with it...but I had no choice. I just knew my life was going to seriously change as I can't work anymore.

This happens all the time to others and this bit of information is indeed valuable. It would be really nice if we had a better medical care system in the US but until that happens we're stuck with what they have. When you have insurance companies getting their nose stuck into this you can seriously be taken...and when every penny counts that can mean a whole lot!

I couldn't believe that one insurance guy I made an appointment with was willing to take me for a ride when I explained the whole thing about having cancer and the importance of the kind of plan I needed. That would have cost me several thousand in a years time. He tried to sell me on Plan N I think it was which was cheaper then the Plan G he quoted at $164.00!!!... far more than what I'm actually paying now for the same damned thing! And this plan he was selling me would have cost me more than I could seriously afford!

And...when you see AARP advertised (the one that advertises lower prices and savings!)....pass!

They charge about $40 more a month for Plan G than the lower amount I paid...mind you...it's the same coverage! You also have to sign up for their yearly membership!

Reporting in..Scan results:

Where to begin...Doctor wants to get an MRI but thinks this headache pain I've been suffering the last few days may be caused by lymph nodes in the area of my collar bone radiating to my head as pain. I have two rather large tumors in two lymph nodes there and in fact one of them is where they obtained my biopsy to determine that I have SCLC. He just wants to make sure that is all it is.

Now for the life of me I don't understand this at all...but aside from a slight decreased size in the tumors on my liver everything remains unchanged. He called it "stable"...which is good as it means it's not spreading so this is probably why he thinks the headaches are from the tumors in my lymph nodes. While that is good it's not spreading...I would have expected more results as to shrinkage of the tumors given the extreme strength of this particular chemo and the three days in a row application. Also the extreme pain as a result of that shrinking in my liver one would think there would be more of a change. But no...

Here's the bad part: I was grossly misinformed as to the approval of the Opdivo. Opdivo is not FDA approved for my type of cancer...and I did/do have currently a pretty good insurance coverage and this insurance company APPROVED me for the Opdivo. Something I did not want! I wanted the drug manufacturer to approve it after the insurance company turned it down. But no....they approved it! I'm thinking they made a major mistake as again it's not FDA approved!

What that all means: My insurance is expiring at the end of this month and I need another approval from Medicare and my supplement coverage! I can't apply for that until my coverage is in effect! If medicare turns it down...FINE! The drug company will approve it (my doctor reassures me of this) and I can get the Opdivo...but that may take up to a month!

Until then I have to continue on the chemo I'm on until that happens.
Come Wednesday I'm starting yet another round of three days of pure hell! Which yes I'm tolerating well enough so far and most likely I will have to have one more after that.

So in short...I have to do more chemo until the Opdivo gets approved once again...I have to get an MRI next Monday to be certain it's not spread but most likely has not. And aside from a slight decrease in size of nodules/tumors on the liver I'm pretty much the same from the last scan.

At least the doctor relieved my concern of the spreading to the brain as that would be a huge concern but to be certain he's going to check anyhow.

If it is my destiny to die of cancer, it is my intention to never have been "officially" diagnosed with cancer. and to never have voluntarily received any conventional cancer treatments.

I swear, so long as I am in control of my medical treatment, not one second of my time nor one penny of my money will go to any "standard of care" oncologist (the one's who hand out "official" cancer diagnoses.)

I am my doctor, and food is my medicine.

I am a lurker, and do not comment very often. I remember seeing this thread awhile back.

I was just diagnosed with lymphoma after finding a lump in my neck. Next comes the dreaded
Pet scan and, apparently almost certainly, chemo and radiation. For a year (or more?)
I had been having periodic night sweats. Energy and "perceived health" is fine and I feel generally
well, (for example I go to the gym regularly), though I am noticing a slightly "sore" throat at the moment.

I am going to read through this whole thread and research as much as possible. For the past year I have
been doing intermittent fasting, often 1 meal a day - though with occasional sugar binges.
I had already decided recently that these binges would cease. I also fasted 5 days in January. I also went
vegan starting in January.

I think my main course of action is going to be fasting plus reducing my carbs/sugars to as low as possible (ketosis),
though I will also try other things in combination such as baking soda (why not), mushrooms, and so on. The diet
will include lots of avocado, coconut oil, olive oil, nuts and seeds.

I have to admit, the thought of chemo and radiation scares me almost as much as the cancer. It's interesting in a
way that the first thing likely to make me actually feel sick will be those damn treatments. It would be great if I
could somehow avoid them. But of course what the doctor is likely to say is "you better undergo these treatments or
else...." My fear is not about the chemo/radiation making me temporarily sick, but rather the fear of "never being quite the same"
afterwards. I understand of course that the possibility of lingering effects is considered a tradeoff for combating the disease,
but still, it is a tough thing.

Anyway, my heart goes out to Shadowself and others embroiled in this and other serious diseases.

When you read this just remember this is my path as the title of the thread states. This is the path I have chosen. I've also chosen some very holistic remedies I can't really speak of here but trust me I'm looking everywhere for a cure to my cancer type which may as well be termed terminal. I'm on heavy doses of vitamins as well...some of them up to 50,000 units. I'm also being pumped with plenty of fluids and believe it or not...no matter what path you may choose...you might have a hard time doing something as simple as drinking water.

lymphoma is quite treatable however. Depending on the stage it can be over in a year. If it's metastasized (spread to your other organs) it can be a rough road. So whatever you choose I do hope this thread will help as it's by far not just about the chemo which my doctor wants to take me off of...I just have about another month to see it through.

My residual effects wear off at the end of the two week period and I can actually taste food again, and feel somewhat normal except that pain from the cancer which is far too much to handle and worse than the chemo...and I have to keep on top of that. I finally gave in yesterday in fact for a stronger pain medication as I'm starting to get severe headaches that the other pain medication is not covering.

I want to tell you that if you do decided to do the chamo I know lots of people who are on it with various kinds of cancer and it does work quite well for their cancer. I also want to tell you that if you do decide to get it...it will scare the hell out of you to begin with. It did me.

You may also have to reduce the chemo if you decide to get it as I did because the two different kinds I got were too much for me and they did reduce it and I am tolerating it. Do not mistake tolerating for it being okay. It's no joy ride for sure.

I will hold you in my thoughts David...Hope is what I cling to even on the hardest days and there are many of them.

I also want to say...I was a very healthy person before this happened...I was 64 and running circles around people half my age...then all of a sudden it hit...and when it did it hit hard and my life will never be the same.

Just remember...lymphoma is quite treatable and hope is not that far away.

I want to share a funny story about the day I had my last CAT Scan:

It was a slow day at radiology. Just me and one other fellow. We were both there for a CAT scan. When you get a CAT scan they give you a drink (usually flavored) of a Barium mixture. Then you wait an hour to go into the CAT scan where they do a first scan then through an IV they give you another contrast for your blood vessels and internal organs....where they proceed to do a second scan.

So while the other guy and I are sitting in the waiting room in walks this tough guy. He had the whole attitude going on. His trousers hanging below his butt, tattoos on one side of his face and hat cocked to one side. As he swaggered into the waiting room he sat down and filled out his paper work then the radiologist came out and proceeded to hand him his barium mixture.

The guy freaked out! He was not down to drinking anything and started to make a scene and walk out. The radiologist stopped him and told him you can't do a CAT scan without it. So right there in the waiting room this guy started to pace with that distinct swagger of a tough guy thug and called his doctor and the doctor I suspect confirmed to him that indeed he needed to drink the barium.

So the guy calmed down his swagger a bit and finally sat down then shook his head in agreement as in yes he'd in fact drink the barium.

When I got called in I started to laugh uncontrollably and then finally was able to tell the radiologist ....You're gonna have a good time with the next guy...when he finds out about the IV and what it does...you're going to have to tie him down!

Seriously though...I'm sure the guy had a fit when he figured that part out. Tough guy indeed! LOL

The IV is this particular IV is a contrast and it is really weird...it makes you feel a warm almost hot rust moving through your body that ends up in your genitals that seriously make you feel like you're gonna pee your pants. Given that alone I kept laughing throughout the day picturing this guy stuck in a huge ring on a platform completely under the control of the radiologist.

Okay that's the humor for the day...next one...I'm going to get serious.

When I first started this thread on the 7th of January, I had gotten some very bad news. News I did not want to share. So as not to freak people out and it would have to some degree. I shared the seriousness of this as I had a heart attack. Mind you there is absolutely nothing wrong with my heart...it's strong as ever. I had a blocked artery that usually ends up killing most people. That is why they call that artery the widowmaker. I was strong enough to make it to the hospital and I lived...that it the bottom line. I also have two other arteries that are partially blocked and they are watching them. I have nitroglycerin at all times in case that happens...this is of course how they found the cancer.

Apparently the message I'm getting today tells me I need to say something here.

I'm not pushing chemo on anybody. Nor am I recommending "standard of care"

I'm also going to tell you chemo saved my life. What I did not convey in the first post is that after my heart attack on Dec the 6th the following month on the 7th of January I was about a week away from getting a tube stuck down my airway to administer oxygen. That stuff you kinda need to breath. That tumor was growing rapidly...and I needed the chemo to shrink it rapidly and it did. If anybody tells you a diet and exercise will fix that they are kidding themselves....and I wanted to live. I hadn't even seen my newest grandson yet in person!

I was extremely lucky the chemo shrank that tumor the size of a tennis ball wrapped around my pulmonary artery from 8CM to 5 CM...enough to allow me to breathe again without laboring like I was on the 7th.

I've also gotten some pretty good results which I've attributed to the Turkey Tail mushrooms and another source along with massive amounts of vitamins which I desperately need. I've discussed that with another member in one of the last two posts.

I'm not here to push anything on anybody...I'm just sharing my experience with it. Because the worst thing that might happen to you is getting shamed for doing it...the chemo that is...and I'm here to also tell you that there are many kinds of cancers that are not only treatable but curable. Some of them are quite curable on holistic methods as well. Which I again am seeking. I just don't have the luxury of time on my side to not go the route I am. This is completely my choice. Cancer does not have to be a death sentence. I just happen to have one of those kinds of cancer that is the worst...and completely inoperable.

In the recent months I've joined a lung cancer support group on facebook where people from all over the world are sharing their experiences...some of them really bad...some of them very hopeful. I learned of a person who beat the two year mark for SCLC taking Opdivo the immunotherapy drug and is now at 3 years...and doing strong. That is a remarkable statistic for SCLC. That is what I will be doing in about a month...I'm very hopeful and as long as I stay stable I'll probably do fine...I'm also looking to beat the odds and perhaps this is a pipe dream...but maybe cure it. Never give up hope! NO matter how down you get either as I have been there many times and simply broke down.

This group I joined has many horror stories and some damned good ones. Not all doctors are good and if you feel any apprehension...get a second or third opinion if necessary.

Should I mention the pain?

I tried weed...it didn't even touch it for me. Not all cancers have extreme pain associated with it. Mine does. I just upped my pain meds so I could get out of bed the pain was so severe. If you've ever had a migraine headache...imagine that 5 times worse. They give you a pain chart that is a joke.....it goes from 1 to 10. I looked at the nurse one day and said they need to make a new pain chart! I have pain in my back...my lungs which radiates my whole chest. I have pain in my liver which have so many tumors they can't count them. I need pain medication...and a strong one too. Pain causes stress...and that is the last thing I need to battle this disease.

Some people can go back to work while they are sick with cancer. Some can't.

There are some people resigned to just letting it happen and letting go. I have too much to live for. I know plenty about death and I'm well aware of the afterlife and expect my son and his father to join me when I go.

I've lived a full life too.

I've been healthy and still in many ways am still strong. This thread was simply to document my experience and share important information like recognizing pain in the jaw for women when you have a heart attack or perhaps need to apply for Social Security Disability and may be in need of Medicare.

Well I've done that...and now I'm done.

I want to strongly say again whatever you choose is up to you. Just because I've chosen my method of treatment please don't think I'm selling this to you. This is my choice. This will be my last post on this thread. I'm sorry if I've upset any of you in any way. This was not my intention. So I'm stopping it now.

I watched a movie titled, “The Guitar”, it was inspired by a true story. It’s a bit tedious in places but it’s a magical story. The true story is quite different and even cooler. I read the story secondhand, so I’m not sure how accurate this is but it’s about a man who had terminal cancer. He moved to Canada and changed everything else in his life with the hope that the tumor would no longer recognise and fit the host and it worked, it cured his cancer.

Yes - absolutely - your choice.

I have been closely involved with and assisting with the medical choices of my father, my mother, my sister, and my son. Each has chosen as they would and I have assisted, sometimes substantially, with those choices. None chose as I would choose now. Even I, a few decades ago, would have chosen quite differently.

I wrote my strongly worded post not as a comment on your choices, Shadowself, but as a way of planting a seed, for those who might come after us. I trusted that you were strong in your ways.

I was endeavoring to plant the seed of will power, awareness of an alternative.

I’ve lost two friends to lymphoma. Both chose to go the chemo route. One lived a year after her diagnosis; the other bought herself fourteen more years. In the case of the latter, the lymphoma couldn’t be cured, but it could be managed. Every time it flared up, she’d do another round of chemo. It was the equivalent of beating it back with a big stick. In between, she was able to live a relatively normal life so I absolutely get your wanting to buy yourself more time. I really do.

I learned so much from that second friend because she talked openly about dying and in doing so, she taught me how to live. The same could be said of you. Please know that I will always carry those lessons in my heart.

Good Morning,

First things first: Paul..no worries...I understanding losing family. Believe me when I say this. In your situation I fully understand.

I would like to say that when I saw that post I was smack in the middle of a three day chemo run. At the time I read it I literally had in my chest a needle with a tube and gauze covered on my chest so they don't have to stick me three times in a row. I just go home with it in me. I have a port surgically put into my chest so as to save my vanes from infection or collapse from the chemo. Of course they take the needle out on the third day. The port stays in.

On the second day this is how it went: My feet were swelling from the first day on Wednesday...So here is what I recorded.


Well due to the swelling in my feet which was pretty severe the staff at the hospital was ready to take me to the emergency room as even though I was taking my pain meds I was also having severe pain in my chest on the right side...where most of the tumors is my lungs are. I asked them for a pillow to put under my right shoulder and arm to help relieve the pain and it helped.

They decided to start the chemo with some added medicine for the swelling and boy did it knock me out. I slept through the whole thing and they woke me up then put me in a wheelchair to meet with my ride down stairs. The whole ride home I was seeing cross eyed and came home and slept. I didn't wake up until 9 AM the next morning.

Well I must say that's never happened before. The swelling in my feet has gone down. I just feel groggy. I don't know why they wanted to send me to the emergency room except perhaps they thought I might be having some heart problems give the pain in my chest. I told them it was not heart pain..but pain from the lung area. My right lung is seriously covered in tumors of various sizes.

On Friday they wheeled me into the infusion center upstairs again as I was still weak...but I was determined to walk out which I did. The swelling in my feet went down about half and I'm better today than yesterday.


One of the reasons I want to stop for now is I can't gloss this over with my strength of will anymore. While the will is there I'm also very sick. Nobody should have to hear what I just wrote. But this is the reality I'm living right now.

Next week I should be tired mostly...then the second week the same sleepy tired but getting better and can actually eat food without forcing it. Which kind of makes me laugh...when I think of people saying they are going to use food to get better alone. Trust me with or without chemo the food is going to taste like crap! Well for my kind of cancer anyhow....

Cancer is one of those things that no matter if you're under doctors care or not makes you lose your taste for food. I had lost my taste for food long before I knew I had it...I just didn't realize it was cancer doing it. For some reason everything tastes different. Which is why many people start losing weight before even being diagnosed....Like me for example...I lost ten pounds in one week. It doesn't happen to everyone but it does to many.

Fact is I've always had a good diet to begin with. No one ever asked me that. I've never been a junk food junkie and never had a taste for sugar...in fact I don't like things too sweet. I never have done soft drinks/sodas and vegetables and fruits have been my mainstay. I do eat small amounts of meat but very small and usually just pick at the meat. I mostly do meat for the people I have cooked for...not for me. I was a vegetarian for many years. I got my proteins from vegetable sources mostly.

I've also been in good physical shape pretty much all my life until now. Plenty of exercise and usually with a surplus of energy!

So when I saw the diet comments I sort of lost it. I got this cancer from smoking. Period. I was a heavy smoker. My one huge downfall in the health department. I loved smoking. I don't love it anymore! But I admit I did. The first thing I did in the morning was have a cigarette with my coffee. Every day of my life for at least 45 years. This type of cancer I have is generally caused by smoking. Not all lung cancer is from smoking but this one is. I'm guilty of having a crutch for smoking and a mutated gene. I have no one else to blame for this but myself.

There is much I haven't said...such as stuff like I just reported. Mostly because I don't want to scare anyone to understanding the seriousness of what exactly it is I am going through. Or the fact that I may or may not make it.

Last week was a blurr...and in two weeks I'm going to have to do it again. And why would anybody do that again? It's called fighting for your life.

It's quite simple...I want to live. Until I get the Opdivo...I have to endure this as this type of cancer can grow in a matter of a week to do me in greatly. I cannot afford that until I do get the opdivo. This is no joke...this cancer I have is trying to take me out...quite simply. It's strong but so am I. I plan on doing everything I can to fight it. But you see this cancer has a will of it's own...it fights me daily to live within my body. And I fight daily to kill it. We'll see who wins.

My son and his wife just got the loan approval for their new home which is 5 miles from me. I intend on being there quite often to visit my grandson and his new brother that is coming in the end of September. This cancer does not have the strength to stop that and I will with all my might see to that. This is my will!


Cancer is no f**ing joke. It does not care about anything but survival. It has somehow learned how to survive long enough to suck every bit it can out of its living host. For some reason we as the living host have yet to figure out how to wipe it out completely. Because it morphs in different forms in different way to each of its hosts. And each of those hosts are different as well. Some can endure it to the end of that fight some cannot. I am working to be the one that can and see it to its end. Even after the chemo run and extreme pain in my right lung...I will fight to kill it further.

Please know that I am still strong in some ways..and my chemo last week was just a result of the BS I have to go through to kill this bastard within my system. I'm good...I'm still strong and more than willing to give it my all. But understand this...I'm considered terminal which is why they are giving me the trial medicine.

Because of the nature of where I am at I probably will not be posting much until I start getting better as this is very hard for me to relate and telling you the truth as I've just done is even harder. Nobody should have to hear what I just relayed. I don't want to report this either.

I know your hearts are with me and I apologize for going off the rails the other day I was as I said sitting with a needle in my chest getting ready for my next round...and nobody is more aware of how screwed up the medical industry is than me. I've had to become very proactive when they treat me as the nurse at my doctors office twice now was going to give me the wrong pre meds for my chemo. Those pre meds are very important as they keep me from throwing up and I absolutely hate that! So far I've only thrown up two times. And that is two times too many! Given the right pre meds will prevent that. So I watch them carefully.

So please understand there are no hard feeling here and I do so appreciate the love and understand and advise given here much of which I've been following btw. I'm just going to take a break and work to get as well as I can. If I can report some good findings I will certainly do so...until then Bless you all for your kind thoughts.

I will always be a member here and feel Bill Ryan is a good friend to me. This will never change.

Have you heard about turpentine inhalation through the mouth into the lungs? And you are right in identifying that cancer is a form of a parasite (in that it seems to have a will of its own and a desire to survive). Dr Jennifer Daniels has mentioned that the main concept behind getting rid of parasites is to make them want to leave the body and not kill them because killing them would end up killing yourself due to the symbiosis of the parasite.

Good Morning!

Well I said I would be back when I had some good news to report:

Been feeling better and one good plus...I'm not wheezing now. I can take a deep breath and no noise in my lungs! I can take a deep breath of air and actually feel the good effects of oxygen! It's been a while since I've done that.

I'm not even doing the two inhalers I have for breathing!

Right lung still hurts but even with the deep breath it is not as bad as it was. Perhaps this stuff is working? I sincerely hope so after all the crap it puts me through.

This last round of chemo effected the inside of my mouth and my tongue feels all broken out and cut up. They gave me a concoction they call "Magic Mouthwash"....I kid you not! That's what it says on the bottle. It has several things in it to heal the mouth while numbing it with lidocaine. It's gross as hell...but it works...(should I say it?)...Like Magic! LOL :facepalm:

But I'm really stoked about the breathing! It's been awhile since I've been able to take a deep breath! And without massive pain!


Think I'll take another hit of sweet fresh air!

Your sharing is indeed a blessing, Brook.

Such good news about your renewed deep breathing. I appreciate my breath often every day and the gifts I have in controlling breath itself.

This morning I awoke thinking about the many, endless troubles my wife had breathing, her having been a smoker and an asthmatic. The immediate synchronicity of reading your post and seeing your positive results reminds me of how much longer she lived with all we had to learn together, coping with it all. I'm sure, in whatever realm she is conscious in now she'd be lovingly critical that I'm not healing someone, somewhere and teaching others how to do the same. She'd also include talking and listening somewhere with a group, sharing, publishing some of my short stories and doing voice-overs/audio books....all things I don't think about until I'm reminded of her observations. This forum fulfills a bit of that promise, insights prompted by the sharings we value with each other.

Don't know if I'd be that good at massage if I hadn't spent so much time with her, of course ending up directly dealing with the deeper issues that keep us holding on to those things that constrict our thoughts, our freedoms, reflected in the depth of our breathing.

Even so, knowing how important each breath is, it is the tenacity and desire to experience the life that loving brings we will remember. When I look at those hard times we passed thru, much more than the energy of the breath itself, I felt that courage in her as life itself. I saw that tenacity in her when she would struggle with breathing, when an inhaler did almost nothing and the thickest needle between the ribs to remove fluid in the lungs became the last thing that saved her....then. This lack of breath was an experience and even a concept foreign to someone like me, but rewarding to finally see her gain control of, even when other habits were beyond her ability to control.

At the times when I was overworked and tired my hands didn't even have to touch her...and had to just come close enough to feel and supply the space for the healing intent that loving brings. Everyone has this ability. Everyone, without exception or handicap.

In the middle of a breath held in, we evaluate the things that we have and should let go of. It's automatic and in no need of overthinking. It is Uh paah nuh (Apana)..Elimination.

When all air is pushed out and that lack of air is held.... all of the healing we need automatically fills us up. Praanuh (Prana)....Energy.

And then there is the space in-between the simplicity of the opposites, of holding in and holding out, good and bad, yes and no, stay or go. This is the timeless time in the 9th Watch* when the unseen is seen and the unknown known. It happens with the intention that is not bound by judgement, especially of our own personal selves.

*There are 8, three hour watches in the day that make up the known 24 hour day of normal, restricted consciousness that most experience...but some of us have known another time without drugged inducements. Our proximity, our closeness, to endings sometimes prompts us to allow deeper insights. A healthy method to activate that awareness is to come close intentionally... ...... .........

Reporting again...

I had to go today to get my weekly blood work done and they were not going to give me my results of the MRI until next week....it was like pulling teeth to get them to tell me the results which made no sense after I actually did get the results today...

No tumors found in the brain MRI! Woo Hoo! What a relief!

My doctor sort of thought that to begin with but did the MRI just in case and to probably ease my mind.

I like it...today I'm still breathing well....no wheezing...and MRI was fine. I'm starting to feel seriously better.

Tonight my son and the family are coming over to take me out to dinner to celebrate. Can't wait to see my chiliman Finnegan!

Good Morning,

I've had a really rough time this last round of chemo. Let me explain....I wrote this for my family members on facebook that have been after me to get out and visit as my son bought a new home and as yet I've not been able to get there.....This was on the 12th of Sept.




THIS IS WHY YOU NEED TO BECOME PROACTIVE IN EVERYTHING THAT GOES ON WHEN YOU ARE IN TREATMENT FOR CANCER:

What a day and night I had! You know that thing I don't like and don't want to talk about regarding what people think chemo is the result of?

Well shortly after my last post I started getting really sick....and I indeed spent the whole evening into the morning hugging the damned toilet!

Now when I got this last round I knew something was different. It was much different. I also thought it was from the added premeds I was given. But still something was way off...because this was much different than the last one.

When they ordered my last round a different nurse was in the office when the order was put in along with the premeds based on my blood tests....I think she ordered me the full dose! She was not familiar with me or my charts...and from the first round they had cut my dose of chemo in half. I think she missed that on that chart and gave me the full dose. This is exactly what happened to me when I had the full dose!

So here I am pretty much over the worst of the stomach effects...but still got the chills and all the BS that I went through with the full dose.

This just goes to show you....these damned doctors offices are just too damned busy and make mistakes. That was a huge mistake!

My body is not that big to receive that full dose! That is also the kind of thing that can kill someone if I did not have a strong system to fight it and let me tell you I fought like hell last night! Not just getting sick to my stomach...but just keeping alert or going into shock.

There were some signs of going into shock which because I know the symptoms knew what to do for that because at my job I was part of an emergency response team that was trained to recognize when someone goes into shock. I had to keep myself covered in a warm blanket with my feet elevated until it all passed. Early signs of shock.

So apparently I'm going to have to watch in the future the dosage as well as the pre meds if I have to do this again before I get the Opdivo. That's the kind of thing that can actually kill you! That is no joke! They are just too busy at that office and that mistake was and is something there is no excuse for. In the next few days after I recover some I'm going to call the infusion center to get the exact dosage on my last two rounds to verify it then I'm heading into that office and they are going to have to answer for it!


So I've been somewhat out of it and until the last few days I'm starting to feel human again. I wrote this a few days later:



I'm holding food down now and the chills and clammy skin are gone. Still shaky and dizzy spells but not that bad. I'm also holding down my meds for the nausea which is really helping the most. So I think the worst is over now. That was horrible! I knew something was wrong....the last one was nothing like this. I'm certain they gave me the original dose that was too much for me. What really worried me was my heart racing...just what I need another heart attack eh? CRAP!

I went to the cardiologist yesterday and all is well with the EKG. Basically aside from the fact that I did have a heart attack and do have a bad case of cancer....I'm pretty strong otherwise I would probably not have survived that last round. That is the truth! That was really bad. I'm absolutely positive they overdosed me with the chemo meds as I was seriously in the early stages of shock. I probably should have gone to the ER but I didn't and all the same survived it which tells me I may very well be able to beat this if there is a cure out there to be had.

So basically what happened showed me I can beat this and I am strong enough to do just that!

Now I think I mentioned that my granddaughter is getting her PHD and works in the area of cancer research. I just found this article and am going to ask her if she knows a way I can get on some kind of list for this kind of treatment when and if it's available to apply to human subjects:

Today as the hurricane shuffle is now pretty much over in my area I'm finally going to see my son's new home. Also a new grandson is coming on the 28th so I have that to look forward to and pretty much a month that started out like crap is ending well.

In the smack middle of that last round (sept 8th) of chemo I turned 65 and at the beginning of this year (10 months after heart attacks and cancer diagnosis) I was not too sure I would actually make 65! Well I did and am looking forward to 66!

I also got invited to my last works 20th anniversary party which was pretty nice that they invited me to come and partake.....another thing to look forward to!

I swear it was like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders when I got that news.

Shortly after I found out I promptly fell asleep and slept like I have not slept in almost a year!

I hope to never have to do chemo again! While I know it did some good for me...it also was slowly killing me. I don't know any other way to say it. It was zapping the life out of me. I'm so grateful it's over now. That has been one of the hardest things I've been through. I swear that to be true.

All the tears I've been holding in have suddenly come flooding out. Tears of relief now but internally they were built of out of sheer fear and dread each time I had to do it.

God am I grateful it's over now.

Meet Zayden born this morning at 9:38 AM C section. 5 LB 15 OZ. Tomorrow afternoon I will be going back to see Finnegan meet his new brother.

Zayden is totally his dad! Dark hair and he even has hair on his back...LOL Just like his dad! His little ears are so cute. They won't stay that way of course but both of them are squished the same way on both sides, and of course the hairy back will fall out and come back when he gets older. Has his dad's eyes which of course we have no idea yet what color they will be, but I'm betting brown like his dad. I'll take some pics of Finn and Baby Z tomorrow and share. I had a hard time letting him go when I had to leave. I'm nuts about these two boys! :inlove:

Brook was a warrior in everything she did and stood for, but lost her last battle. She’s assisted us in research behind the scenes — some of which she posted publicly on the Corey Goode and Emery Smith threads — and was steadfast in her personal determination to expose scams, fraudsters, and charlatans: even when she was sick and fighting personally. Kudos to her: if her efforts could be matched by more, the community would be richer and healthier for it.

She’ll be back. We welcome her return, and we need more like her. My respect and appreciation to everyone who's honored her here.

I knew Brooke over many platforms over many years.

She was ahead of the curve on chipping away at something she felt deeply mesmerized by.. the interweave of quantum realities and
the mechanics of Egyptian technology.. something that when you read her work (hours and pages of output) little ever comes nearer
to the experience of peeping behind the veil.

I don't have access to her lengthy work on this.. I recall there was an exhaustive thread called 'Theatre...' something. Does anyone have this archived?
A fitting memorial and repository of her work in a section dedicated to her research would be what I would hope for so that someone with the tenacity to fully
understand her work could have access to it, and the rest of us could revisit it and Star/Brooke/Shadowself's work will always be there. It really needs to be.

We have so many great people to thank on that, but I really want to shout out to this too, which is… unfortunately, I have some sad news, which is the passing of Brook Schiner today, who was an incredible Project Avalon researcher.

She did incredible things for me, especially last year when I was looking into this, and she knew so much and so many different things about cults. It was quite helpful. She had cancer for a while, and she was a strong fighter till the end. And all of our blessings are there for Brook, and all the Project Avalon people, so much, for the things that you've done.

I've been a fan of Shadowself ever since I found her thread entitled "6 Degrees of Separation: Order from Chaos" on a different forum.

(It's possible the other forum split from this one a long time ago. I never spent the time to piece together the full story but I don't think I'm allowed to reference it here. I can give you the link if you're curious. She put a ton of work into her thread.)

I read that thread of Shadowself's. What a great mind. It ties in to an experience I had which I wanted to relate on Rachel's thread about Experiences, sharing and learning together.

Shadow is really something.
