A study published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences suggests aging immune system plays a larger role in cancer incidence than previously thought.
''The key to cancer prevention may lie in the immune system rather than genetic mutations, the current focus of most anti-cancer efforts across the world, according to a major new study carried out at the University of Dundee''
A primary cause of immune system ageing is the shrinking of the thymus gland. This is where T cells, which circulate the body killing dysfunctional cells or foreign agents, are produced.

Thymic involution begins from around the age of one and the thymus roughly halves in size every 16 years, with a corresponding fall in the production of T cells. The researchers found an extremely strong correlation between the chances of certain cancers increasing and the new T cell populations falling.
"The immunosurveillance hypothesis is that cancer cells are continually arising in the body but that normally the immune system kills them before a new tumour is able to establish itself," said Dr Sam Palmer, who initiated the research at Dundee before taking a post at Heriot Watt University.
"The T cells are constantly scanning for cancer cells, looking to destroy them. If they can't find them soon enough or the immune system is weak then the cancer population has the chance to grow. The chances of this happening will increase with age as the thymus is shrinking all the time.'' source https://medicalxpress.com/news/2018-02-aging-immune-age-related-cancer.html
Supplementing with vitamin D3 especially during wintertime, about 1000ie per day, is my personal effective way of keeping the immune system working top notch.
D3, after 2 conversions in the kidneys, forms the fuel of the immune system.
When you take D3 you have to supplement with magnesium, zink and calcium too.
To keep the synergistic balance.
Keep healthy.

Probiotics are also great to boost your immune system.
Since I have been eating fermented food daily I haven't had flue or even a cold.

Its always been very clear to me that the immune system is key to healing any infection including cancer and I would guess most diseases.
If a person has cancer and goes thru chemotherapy, in the end, its still the immune system that does the job.
Then consider that our guts are tied to the emotions, solar plexus.
Stress, sadness, hate, all weaken our immune system as well as heavily taxes the liver and endocrine system.
This being said, I take care of my guts with intent.
I take chlorophyll everyday, good probiotics if I feel the gut fauna got hit in some way, use colloidal silver for local and temporary infections, I get a colon cleanse about once a year, and lastly, I meditate daily, refueling in my I AM space. Sometimes its just 5 minutes and it still makes all the difference.
I can say that I have not suffered any illness in many many years, might also be genetics as I do have a very robust body.

the key to our health has always been in our immune systems; problem is we're being constantly bombarded by things that erode/destroy our immune systems-

Andreas Moritz wrote the book: "Cancer Is Not A Disease (https://smile.amazon.com/Cancer-Not-Disease-Survival-Mechanism/dp/097679442X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1518029306&sr=8-1&keywords=cancer+is+not+a+disease+-+it%27s+a+survival+mechanism+by+andreas+moritz&dpID=51Lt%252BhOED%252BL&preST=_SY291_BO1,204,203,200_QL40_&dpSrc=srch)":
In Cancer Is Not A Disease, bestselling author and internationally acclaimed health expert, Andreas Moritz, proves the point that cancer is the physical symptom reflecting our body's final attempt to eliminate specific life-destructive causes. He claims that removing such causes sets the precondition for complete healing of our body, mind and emotions. This book confronts you with a radically new understanding of cancer - one that outdates the current cancer model. On average, the conventional approaches of killing, cutting or burning cancerous cells offer most patients a remission rate of merely 7%, and the majority of the few survivors are "cured" for just five years or less. The prominent cancer researcher and professor at the University of California (Berkeley), Dr. Hardin Jones, stated: "Patients are as well, or better off, untreated." Any published success figures in cancer survival statistics are offset by equal or better scores among those not receiving any treatments. More people are killed by the treatments than saved. Cancer is Not a Disease shows you why regular cancer treatments can be fatal, what actually causes cancer, and how you can remove the obstacles that prevent the body from healing itself. Cancer is not an attempt on your life; to the contrary, cancer is trying to save it. Unless we change our perception of what cancer really is, it will continue to threaten the life of nearly one out of every two people. This book opens a door for those who wish to turn feelings of victimhood into empowerment and self-mastery, and disease into health.
For me, my own experience validated the above. Although diagnosed with very rare and aggressive "malignant neoplasm of gallblader" in 2016, I beat it with mostly vitamins, curcumin and baking soda with no chemotherapy, although that was strongly advised by at least 3 oncologists from 3 different oncology clinics. My last MRI taken a week ago still shows that I'm still cancer free.

Thats beautiful to read.
I imagined one time how I would react learning I had cancer.
Even though I like to say I would do it in a natural way as you did, it still takes much courage and faith to do that.
I would imagine that made you much stronger, just beautiful..

Cannabis plays an important role in the health of the immune system.
The endocannabinoid system is responsible for homeostasis, the health and balance of all the bodies systems, including the immune system.
A surgeon said this
"More people will be saved by the manipulation of the endocannabinoid system than are currently saved by surgery." - Dr. David Allen
Interestingly, cannabinoids are in a mother's breast milk.

There are doctors who are now saying the world has a cannabinoid deficiency.

Thank you Olam. It did take a lot of both courage and faith in what I researched. My first oncologist did her best to totally scare me with her medical authority. She told me that even though my entire gallbladder was removed and most likely 99% of the cancer was removed, there was some evidence of some residual micro cancer cell clusters in my bile ducts based on pathology report of the scraping of my biliary tree. So I sought 2nd and 3rd medical opinion. Even the gastroenterologist who performed several ERCPs on me at the hospital strongly advised that I should get chemotherapy right away.
I even spent a solid week of nothing but medical appointments seeing several doctors from various specialties and other medical professionals in a big nationally known (and nationally advertised) cancer center located just north of Chicago. I even saw two Naturalpath doctors, but they clearly indicated that their treatment were only to provide adjunct nutritional therapy to support the primary modality of either the chemotherapy and/or radiation. The total bills for that weeks were potentially around $38k. However, due to their prior agreement that they would only charge me for whatever was remaining in the deductible part of my insurance, and by that time, I had met and paid the full deductible which was big sum of money as I had high deductible insurance. So that week essentially was a tax-write off for them, including one week of lodging at the motel owned by the cancer center and the round trip airfare. I went there on my case manager's (who in hind-sight turned out to be a salesman) promise that the center has many cutting edge alternative treatments that I could explore.
During the afternoon of the last day of the week, my personally assigned case worker nurse informed me that in the end, that the cancer center subscribed to the standard national cancer treatment models in order to have access to the FDA approved chemotherapy drugs and other modalities. So the promise of cutting edge alternative treatment such as hyperbaric oxygen treatment and other treatments were total hogwash. An oncologist surgeon that I saw on the last day even suggested that I stay the following week to get some surgical procedure to ensure that every bit of cancer was removed. He almost made his case, but in the end I weighed the months of recovery that I probably would have to endure vs applying natural remedy, so I called on my faith in the universe to help me through this battle as well as the faith in the various natural remedies I had researched.
My experience did strengthen me spiritually as I value life more now, and I clearly saw the for-profit motives of the cancer industry that were not in our best interest. I read about many pioneering doctors who discovered several natural and alternative cancer treatments and cure, and lot of them died under mysterious circumstances.

Hi Sunny-side-up. I did a post about my cancer experience here (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?98236-Cancer-Cured-Victory-Over-the-War-on-Cancer&p=1158956&viewfull=1#post1158956).
The basic idea with baking soda is to take one teaspoon a day, however you want to do it. I found it easy to mix 1/2 tsp per 4 ounces of water twice a day. Sometimes I would add 1/2 tsp to my oatmeal in the morning as well. I believe I took 500mg of Laetrile.
I recommend this curcumin (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B075ZFBY32/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1). You can also look for curcumin with bioperine, an extract from black pepper that aids in absorption of curcumin. Also, I used may mushroom extract powder, such as reish mushroom (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B015IF7U68/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
I always take other vitamins, such as C, E, D3, potassium chelate, etc and trace minerals magnesium, calcium and zinc, and Spirulina.
