Hey I thought it might be fun for us to share things we are grateful for - like an online gratitude journal.

Today, I am grateful that my brother and daughter both enjoyed the pea soup I made.

I am grateful I had enough money and time to buy the ingredients and to make the soup, and the means to store it for future use (electricity, refrigerator, freezer)

I am grateful that my daughter knows what it feels like to have lice, because she caught it early this time when she got it from the usual place, and we were able to treat it in a timely fashion, minimizing the spread to others and the amount of work I had to do to treat it and clean the house.

I am grateful that I was able to borrow my friends tools to work on my car and replace the thermostat - it now runs much smoother, and the heat works much better now.

I am grateful that my daughter has so many friends and family members that love her.

I am grateful for my aunt Kate.

I am grateful that my brother decided to move in with me, so I can take care of him and help him heal.

I am grateful for my friend Mark, who is being an amazing source of support with his counseling and hypnosis.

I am grateful to my friend Jay for his incredible generosity and acceptance.

I am grateful for my family, and for all of my friends, for their loving support.

I am grateful for all of the challenges in my life, that have taught me so much, forcing me to dive deep and find an inner strength I didn't know I possessed.

I'm grateful for my magical morning watching the snow fall from the trees in the sun making shimmering glitter in the air as it fell. It felt like I was in a snow globe!

I'm grateful for the hot water in my tea and in my shower.

I'm grateful for having the opportunity to be of service; to honor a friend's request.

I'm grateful for the spontaneous visit to my son's house. I'm grateful for the food he gave me, the tea, and our precious time together.

I'm grateful for the food I had for dinner.

I'm grateful for my warm and cozy room.

I'm grateful for another perfect day.

I'm grateful for every breath I take.

I'm grateful for the connection I feel through my heart.

I'm grateful that I've learned to be grateful and value gratitude as a place of being that washes away old attitudes that no longer serve my highest good so that I can experience the goodness that I choose to experience.

I hope to stay in gratitude and I stated this to my friend earlier today.

I'm grateful for the truth coming out in our world because I know it will be the cause of significant positive changes, regardless of temporary setbacks or appearances.

I'm grateful that I was able to share some poetry last night, to hear the authentic voices of other poets, and for the exchange of "love notes" as a form of positive feedback.

I'm grateful for the inspiration to write a new poem this morning.

And, lastly, I'm grateful for this thread where we can express gratitude together and amplify such wonderfully awesome vibrations.

Thank you! :bearhug:

PS. I'm also grateful for the meditation in the post above, Vern!

I am grateful to have come from under the spell and became awakened for our mission to be finally completed. WE were supposed to spread the Torah as priest unto the world, after awakening and preparing the way. I'm grateful that my family is finally seeing what I've been telling them now for the last 10 years about mt dreams and visions, and I guess you could say...time lapses of seeing inside deep. Some call it remote viewing, and perhaps that's what it's become, but I see future buildings, roadways, and flying vehicles much further down the line. Before I couldn't, but now I am able to see the tinted sensor glass tubes that are used for travel.
I'm grateful for finishing one book, although, I've not published it yet.
I'm grateful that I'm getting the buzz to start on the other called Exodust/Exodus.
I'm grateful the time bomb in my head, has remained just soldiers marching, and not taken me into a stroke. Can't afford the hospital test of 345.00 for the scan to make sure it's not too dangerous to continue with regular life circumstances.
I'm grateful we are almost sealed.
I'm grateful to continue finding so much that was hidden from the "hidden," by the secret societies.
I'm grateful that Africa is waking up and seeing they are pretty much the one of the brides, that still has oil to keep her people warm during the flip and mini age of ice.
I'm grateful that I've met so many wonderful souls here that helped to guide me, even though I sometimes just read the post, that leads me even further in my seeking of HIS face.
I'm grateful for Generation X waking up and saying: "Whoaaa, heyyyy, this is our future right? So why are the old warmongrels plotting loads of debt, before they kick the bucket for hell, on our watch?" I also "know" they will not quit, and if you don't want "child soldiers like in Africa, they will stop hijacking the generation's economic prospectus for "a few dollars more mentality" that leads to more wars/enemies."

I love to see so many people expressing their gratitude. The fun thing about this, as I said before, is that the more you express it, the more there is to be had! I would like to continue expressing my gratitudes each day in this way.

Because we can always find new and interesting things to be grateful for, we don't have to succumb to the pressure to make the definitive list and be done with it.

Neither do we need to view the expression of gratitude as a chore.

I welcome anyone who feels so inclined to continue expressing their gratitudes here!

And I thank you for reflecting and playing and reveling in gratitude with me, and with the PA community!

Today, I am grateful that I had the time after work to work on a project that I hope to soon share with the PA community, and which I hope will help people.

I am grateful that I had enough energy to cook dinner for my daughter and brother, and that they both enjoyed it.

I am grateful that I came to a realization today that I choose to move in an entirely new mental direction, one of stepping into the unknown. I hope to soon share more on this in a separate post.

I am so grateful that you expressed this Mike! I was feeling grumpy about my work today - my boss is a difficult person to deal with. But this job came through after months of searching and being minimally employed, and the hours and flexibility are good, and very important to me, so yes, I too must say: I AM GRATEFUL FOR MY JOB!

I'm grateful for the walk I took around town today.

I'm grateful that the sun was shining and the temperature was great for a long walk.

I'm grateful for the food I bought at the grocery store on the way home.

I'm grateful for the money I had to be able to buy the food. $$$

I'm grateful that my local store manager decided to add thousands of organic food items to their inventory.

I'm grateful for having a great book shop where I can just stop in to say "hi!" Any time. :waving:

I'm grateful for the homeless person I saw (and met and talked with at length previously) that makes me feel even more grateful for what I have.

I'm grateful that this homeless friend always seems happy and enjoys this area.

I'm grateful for living in a peaceful home.

I'm grateful for knowing that when I feel grateful for unexpected events or circumstances the correct choices and blessings will flow. (Because I had one today.) :)

As it happens sometimes, I was sitting in my living room and heard outside on the front sidewalk the crispy sound of snow mixed with ice from someone walking. That made me so happy.. these steps made the sound my daughter's steps makes when she gets home. Then the old house door banged, she took off her boots, said hi and went upstairs. I am grateful to my dog because he shows me how to love unconditionally simply just with his being.

I am thankful for being able to communicate with the whole world thanks to technology.

I am thankful for the warm house where I am able to live without freezing (mostly).

I am thankful for the warm meals I get to eat and the fresh water I get to drink.

I am thankful for the air I get to breathe with my lungs and I am thankful for the sunshine which brightens my day and my soul.

I am thankful for my family, friends and thankful for the love I experience.

I am thankful for that God has allowed me to experience suffering, illness and sadness in my life so I can truly appreciate the true beauty of life and empathize more better with beings who are going through suffering too.

I'm thankful that my friends came over and we prayed together.

I'm thankful for the power of prayer.

I'm thankful that my roommate picked up some groceries at the store for me.

When I moved out of my cabin, it seemed best for my cat to stay there in the forest since he had been there all his life. I didn't think I could have a cat where I moved into. That was 4 months ago. I was with him for a week at Christmas because I watched all three pets when the new tenants went on vacation. When I got a call yesterday that they had to move out of state, I knew I had to find a home for my cat. I called one friend and left a message to see if he would take him. But I knew I had to bring him to my house at least temporarily. When I spoke to my roommate, I learned I could keep him here after all. I am so thankful he is here with me now.

Nice idea and welcome back TFT, just when I noticed things to be grateful about.

I am thankful for that God has allowed me to experience suffering, illness and sadness in my life so I can truly appreciate the true beauty of life and empathize more better with beings who are going through suffering too.

This sentence made me think Wind.

Firstly I do not believe that God created us to suffer.
Also is it really necessary to suffer in order to have compassion?
What if we don't suffer at the current time (or do not notice it) do we then have to recall by memory a time in which we have suffered? But if we have overcome the suffering through understanding, does that not imply our past suffering is an illusion and does not exist? So is it really necessary to know how someone is supposedly feeling, is it not more important to feel good and empowered and thereby help him/her to get out of their suffering by seeing no cause for suffering in them also? Isn't that what love is about?

Thirdly it's not really possible to be thankful for suffering because it is basically the opposite, we cannot be thankful for something we don't want.

Just some things to think about.

Yes, things to think about.

But also, how can a fish be grateful to the medium that sustains and nourishes it, if it never knows anything else exists? "What's this 'ocean' you all keep talking about?" said the inexperienced fish. Without have an "out of water" experience, you cannot be grateful for the ocean, as you know it not. I think it is this contrast Wind was being grateful for -- being grateful for the ability to be grateful, via mechanisms of contrast.

Of course none of this is required , in support of your point. :)

Sorry for the off topic ... er ... I am grateful for interjected perspectives :)

I think you're thinking too much into it. :)

Firstly I do not believe that God created us to suffer.

I didn't say so, I said that I am thankful for that God has allowed me to experience suffering. Life is suffering, it is the central part of it. Learning how to deal with it is a central part of life.

Also is it really necessary to suffer in order to have compassion?

No, but it helps!

That's a good question and a complicated one too. Life is ultimately illusion, but the point is that it feels real. Pain feels real when you experience it and you can tell yourself that it's just illusion. Does it help? Maybe sometimes. We all suffer, more or less. Later or ealier, it's inevitable. We will experience suffering, illness and death. However, it's up to us how we will see and deal with it. I think it's extremely important to be grateful about the suffering too, because it has served as a teacher too. We suffer so that we will understand that we don't have to suffer. Compassion does help when it comes to other people, but you don't have to feel bad for them. You certainly don't have to feel bad for me. I'm just another human.

Thirdly it's not really possible to be thankful for suffering because it is basically the opposite, we cannot be thankful for something we don't want.

But how do you know that? I am thankful for all the things that I have experienced, the good and the bad. You can't have a day without a night. :)

Thank you for your thoughts on this matter.

I think Mooji touches on this subject beautifully too.

I am so glad that you have your kitty with you! Michelle Marie, I am grateful for your loving presence. Thank you :)

Firstly I do not believe that God created us to suffer.
Also is it really necessary to suffer in order to have compassion?

EmEx, you bring up an excellent point that I have thought about myself many times. I would get really angry thinking about all the religions that push the idea of suffering as the key to salvation. How is suffering instructive?, I would wonder. I would think about how so many people are broken by their suffering, devolving into shells of their former selves as they age, wasting away into an oblivion of negativity and confusion. I would think how suffering begets suffering - how so many people who grew up in abusive families then went on to hurt innocent people - family members, friends, complete strangers. Sure, there are the success stories here and there - people who grew up in a crack den and became a successful CEO, things like that. But then, those kinds of people seem to be anomalies, rather than the norm. It seems all the more likely and typical for people to fail to break free from the confines of their own pain and suffering - taking down themselves and others around them in the process.

So, yes, on the one hand, I completely agree that the very idea of being thankful for suffering seems insane.

But then, there is another perspective. And this is one that I also choose to draw from. And I suspect that perhaps Wind is using the same perspective. It is that, by giving thanks for our challenges and suffering, we are empowering ourselves. By choosing to give thanks for what has happened to us that was traumatic or painful, we are choosing to use the experience as a means to become a stronger, deeper, wiser person. It does not excuse what happened, nor would I suggest that we all need more suffering in the world. But at the very least, it is a helpful tool in dealing with trauma in a way that maximizes the experiencer's sense of personal empowerment, and frees one from anger and resentment, that can suck the lifeblood out of anybody over time.

I am grateful to you for adding these thoughts to the thread, and for sparking such a provoking discussion!! Thank you :)

Today, I am grateful that I had a complete emotional meltdown. It broke down my pride and helped me to realize that I do not always need to do everything alone, and I reached out for help. It was sorely needed, and renewed my soul. The tension in my body has lessened, and my gratitude continues to grow.

I am grateful that my friend was a brick and helped me in my time of need, with no argument or questions asked. No shaming and no conditions. I am truly blessed.

I am grateful that my attention to detail led me to realize late last night and this morning that the treatment I employed for my daughter's lice infestation was not completely effective.

I am grateful that my prior experience and near-fanatic cleaning abilities have aided me in quarantining the continued infection in the home.

I am grateful that the mother of one of my daughter's friends was so supportive and kind about the lice infestation, and I was even more grateful to hear that none of her family was affected from the sleepover my daughter had at their house the night before we discovered her infestation.

I am grateful that I learned so much about lice and how to deal with them today. I thought I had a pretty good handle on it from past experiences, but it turns out that there were quite a few things I did not know, and that my method of treatment was less effective and ten times as much work. I feel empowered with this knowledge, and so relieved.

I am grateful for bowls of hot oatmeal with broccoli, raw onion, sunflower seeds, pepper, sage, and olive oil. And so is my belly.

I am grateful for PA, and I am grateful to Bill Ryan for being a righteous dude.

I am very grateful for all that you are grateful for today Train.

Since middle of last December our once very healthy and vibrant cat has fallen seriously ill, and all the specialist veterinarians we have seen have not been able to determine the root cause of his illness. Our cat was given two kinds of antibiotics, antiviral, liquid Prednisone, and many different kinds of natural remedies to boost his immune system to no avail. Due to serious ulcer inflammation that started as a small spot under his tongue has now spread all over his mouth. Two different biopsies have ruled out cancer, but have not pointed to any specific pathogen. My wife has rescued him as a kitten born to a feral mother, inside a storm drain in our back yard over 10 years ago. We have raised him from a bottle and now he is full fledged member of our family who always dines with us for lunch and dinner. Since December part of his tongue has necrotized, so it had to be amputated and he now has to be fed through esophagus-tube inserted into his neck. He has to be helped to the litter twice a day. Each week he continues to lose weight and strength despite being fed at maximum rate recommended by our vet.

So I am very grateful for everyday that our cat lives.

I didn't say so, I said that I am thankful for that God has allowed me to experience suffering. Life is suffering, it is the central part of it. Learning how to deal with it is a central part of life.

Well you can't really deal with it, because pain is not acceptable to anyone.
The only reason why it may seem to be so, is because of the fear of more pain, the “lesser” of the evil is chosen, this however, is where we go wrong, if love is true there is no necessity for suffering.
It is the disbelieve in love that makes it a choice between suffering and suffering.
It's the believe that pain is a requirement to existence that makes us create our own suffering.

I am not trying to not feel bad for others (or myself) intellectually (it may happen or not) but I try to gain the understanding that removes the cause for it by seeing us as God has created us, which is all powerful, would that understanding not remove the need to feel sorry for others?

Yes in the way that DeDukshyn described this makes sense.
But if one would feel always grateful then could there be anymore suffering?
So in that sense it is a contradiction to claim gratefulness for suffering, one can have one or the other but not both.

It's all about accepting. Accepting that yes, we humans are vulnerable beings. We experience pain and sufffering, accepting that and not resisting it. If we deny or resist something then the more it will persist. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't or couldn't alleviate unnecessary suffering. At one point suffering does come obsolete, but that is the state of grace. Which some people have attained, or should I say there's no person left to claim such thing. It will be a Self-realized being.

There is no contradiction. Just read The Freedom Train's post. :)

I am grateful for your pursuit of the Truth in dialogue here, EmEx! These are all excellent points to consider and discuss!

I do agree that a belief that suffering is necessary to existence is problematic. I think what Wind was expressing, and what we have presented as additional points for consideration, lies in what we do with what has already happened to us, that which is beyond our control so to speak, such as if somebody chooses to abuse us.

Yes, acceptance helps us to alleviate the suffering that we cause ourselves by holding onto feelings, by our own anxieties, fears, and resistance to what is. And this can be applied to the most extreme circumstances. I believe I heard that there were a few people in the Concentration Camps who attained enlightenment in their situations. That has to be the ultimate in acceptance!

The state of grace is, I feel very strongly, the goal here. I know for sure that is what I would like for myself and for humanity as a whole. My greatest desire is to somehow aid in the collective liberation of humanity from suffering. I have no idea how I would do this, so in the meantime, I am enjoying this Gratitude exercise, as well as stimulating dialogue with friends and family.

Thank you Train for appreciating my post. I couldn't help but cry as I was posting that, and as I'm now. He's been my best little "buddy" for the last 10 years, and acts more like a dog than a cat. He often would plop down beside my feet if I stand in one spot too long, or if I'm sitting down. We've been through so many different vet clinics over the last few months without answers. We've done everything we could think of. I suppose at some point, we have to accept the situation for what it is. We've come to the realization that God will eventually take him home soon.

There is a silver lining; one of our friends with special abilities have seen a little girl in our house with the face that looks like our cat. So we're happy that perhaps through this pain, he will graduate as a human being after all.

And I'm grateful to you Train, for starting this thread.

I am grateful for understanding my shadow side, the self that I learned to be and believed I am/was.

I am grateful that my nature allowed me to never fully integrate into this sham of a society so that I can help others see it for what it truly is. Otherwise I am left to amble sideways on my own - as good slaves have been taught to do with stragglers.

Today I am grateful to my friend Mark for his amazing work with me. I just had a very intense session, and made a discovery that is overwhelming. I am in shock I think. But so many things are making so much more sense to me now, so it's all good.

I am grateful that I cooked enough food earlier in the week that all we had to do was heat stuff up today for dinner.

I am grateful that my boss was not terribly grumpy today.

I am grateful that I had a chance to take a nap after work today.

I am grateful for this thread.

I am grateful for my embarrassment in continuing to post on this thread. I am grateful that I am not allowing my fears of what other people think of me stop me from doing what I feel called to do.

I am grateful for the sunshine. :sun:

I'm grateful for my son and how he stays in contact with me. I always tell him he is my favorite son, and he laughs because he is my only son. Still, he's on the top of my favorite list!

I'm grateful for where I live. It is peaceful.

I'm grateful for the delicious, nutritious food I eat, and the nice kitchen I have to cook in.

I'm grateful for friends. I've seen them a lot more since I moved out of the woods last fall. I really feel like a millionaire when it comes to friends. I have so many great ones. Friends are the greatest blessing of all!

I'm grateful for my books. They are all around me, and whether I read a lot, or just a little, I feel inspired and connected to the resonant fields created by shared ideas.

I'm grateful for this thread that reminds me to focus on gratitude. My friends who join with me in prayer and meditation also focus on gratitude. Years ago we had a group we simply called "the gratitude girls" and I'm grateful for my friend, Irene, who had the group at her house for so long. She is now in spirit, but we are grateful for her presence in our groups and we acknowledge her and know she is grateful still.

I'm grateful for the intention ideas that helped formulate the intentions for tomorrow's group meditation. (On intentional meditation thread.). I am grateful for understanding somewhat how powerful that activity is.

Thank you! You are a kind and loving soul!

Today, I am grateful I signed up for and helped with my daughter's cast party for her school play. I had a lot of fun meeting and talking with the other parents, in running the photo booth and taking a bunch of pictures of the kids, and dancing a little to some of the good songs the DJ played.

I am grateful that my brother is spending time with his friends right now, and that I was able to lend him the car to see them. I am happy when he gets out of the house and spends time with friends. I don't want him to feel isolated and alone here.

I am grateful that my daughter is so patient and loving.

I am more grateful than I can ever possibly express in words for all the amazing loving support I have received on the forum lately. I am really in awe, and deeply humbled, and so very grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love you PA!!!

What a profound, succinct and eloquent statement, Vernaianawa. You've transcended the duality of a fool fooling someone else. In reality, everyone, everything is all part of All That Is. I don't claim to be at that level, but I feel that you've experienced that state of transcending the illusion of our reality. You were looking at the reflection of a moon on a quiet lake without ripples. Then merely by a simple act of touching the lake, the illusion of the moon is shattered; which was a catalyst to shattering your experience of separateness and duality.

My late Buddhist master once wrote in a book that he saw his reflection in a small pool of water. Then all of a sudden he realized that his reflection in the water is as real as he is. My master meant that our ordinary 3D reality is an illusion which can be shattered by letting go of our ego and experience All That Is. One of his teaching is to see oneself/mind as a mirror. The mirror only serves to reflect whatever is in front of it. It does not hold onto and capture a reflection, like a picture would. Our mind is usually like a camcorder that keeps on recording and retaining all of our experiences, when the experiences are gone and past.

I am very grateful for you sharing your explanation of your experience.

Nahko Bear "So Thankful"

Note: this song may make some feel uncomfortable. Nahko Bear was born out of a child prostitution situation and had an extremely hard upbringing. His mother (I belive his biological mother) always taught him to never feel ashamed of how he came into this world and to always be thankful for everything, because you never can trust appearances. Nahko is an amazing inspirational musician for many a down trodden people, or people going through hardships in their lives.

Today I am so grateful to my friend Mark, whose expertise, training, and spirit of generosity are making it possible for me to do some really intense and amazing work on myself. I look forward to the day when I can return his kindness with healing work of my own, which I know I am capable of providing. I just need a bit more time to heal first.

I am grateful for the opportunities I have had lately to, yet again, learn patience and non-attachment. I try not to get my hopes up for much of anything really, but when I am told to expect some form of help and it is not forthcoming, I become anxious and upset. This is another good lesson for me to learn patience.

I am grateful for my friend, who will be treating my daughter to a new bicycle for her birthday. My daughter will be thrilled, and I am very relieved, because I want her to get something special this year - she is turning 13!! AAAAAHHH!!!!

I am grateful for Avalon, and for the space to express my gratitude here, and to share in other people's gratitude. I LOVE to read other people's gratitudes, it just makes me so happy!

I am grateful that my brother was able to take the car out and go to the mall with his girlfriend after I got home from work today. I am grateful that our seriously ill cat had a good time outside exploring our backyard, despite bleeding from his mouth. After weeks of having to be carried to his litter box, he went to do his business this morning all by himself before dawn. I was so happy to see that he waited for us by the bathroom this morning before dawn like he used to do before he fell ill. Despite his illness, he did his best to remind us that he still loves us.

I am grateful that I got some clearing work done by a friend of a friend. I had a lot of stuff that needed clearing, which was no big surprise. I knew I did because as soon as I started working at my new job, I became increasingly anxious and stressed, then got to a point where I just felt angry all the time, and couldn't really relax. I am an empath and pick up energy really easily from the people around me - my boss has a lot of dense energy going on, probably because he is a lawyer and there's a lot of negativity with legal proceedings and in the courts. I feel like my usual self again, after months of building tension and dis-ease. Thank god. I am so grateful!

I am grateful for the sun today, which made working on the cars in the junk yard to salvage a replacement door handle not so cold and miserable. And I am grateful for my own perseverance and determination, which finally paid off after two days, about four hours of work total, and many failed attempts, to remove and replace an exterior door handle, which turned out to be a very tedious and tricky task!

I am grateful that I had the time also to clean my new car, and finish cleaning and preparing my old car for sale, as well as listing it on craigslist. I already have a buyer for it, after having listed it several hours ago! Yay!

Today I am grateful for a free moment at work to post here on the forum.

I am grateful for the reminder yesterday to renew my commitment to my meditative practice, which seems to always fall by the wayside when I become busy and overwhelmed with work and responsibilities. 15 minutes a day. I must carve out the time for this daily. I am determined to find a way.

I am grateful for Project Avalon. Loving ya'll.

I am grateful that I finally got ready for my trip. My friend is here and we leave in the early morning.

I am grateful that my roommate checked my tires and put air in them.

I'm grateful that I found something to wear to my niece's wedding.

I'm grateful for all the food we have to take with us. We like healthy organic stuff. We have carrots and celery, soup and bread, juice and water, and chips and almonds. Oh, and chicken sandwiches.

I'm going to be grateful the whole time I'm gone, so if I don't have time to write, just remember I'm being grateful as I visit with family!

I'll be grateful to be in the sun! :sun:

Tonight, I am grateful for learning about Pizzagate. It was what initially triggered my memory recall of what was done to me as a child. It has taken over a year to begin recovering those memories more fully, but it is a very healing and empowering process, and I could not have done it without the disturbing disclosure of the pizzagate movement.

I am also grateful for pinto beans, which are very tasty with tortilla chips.

I would be very surprised if you want to see the movie in question, which allowed me to see my past with a clearer perspective - and even from that perspective, I know that what I lived was nothing compared with what others have to go through. This is definitely NOT an inspirational movie. But it was appropriate for me - although I have not finished it yet, just could not yet, emotionally.

I am grateful for all that has happened to me, and all of the attacks, oppression, and abuse. I am finding such inner strength within me, and with each wave of attack, I find that I only get stronger because of it. Your meeting with Sstarss sounds exciting! I am so grateful and happy for you both!

I love what you say about a benevolent force - a friend told me one of her favorite John Lennon quotes,

"If it's not okay, it's not the end" - which I really appreciate, and it reminds me of what you said.

Of course, it must be taken in a macrocosmic context, seeing as how not all ( or maybe even most) microcosmic endings are hunky dory.

The idea that we are, collectively, on a positive trajectory for the betterment of all beings is an idea that I find worthy and comforting. It perhaps gives sense to what I would otherwise consider needless suffering. Not that I consider suffering to be necessary, but if it is an inevitable by-product of freeing ourselves from slavery that has lasted, possibly, aeons - then I say I am glad to offer myself up for that task.

I am grateful today for quiet time, to unwind, relax, and to ponder. I thrive in solitude, and in silence. Now is a gift, a time I will utilize for allowing what intends to be in my life, for my own healing journey, and beyond.

I am grateful for my connection with Jesus Christ, who came to me once in a dream when I was bedridden with crippling depression and self loathing during my pregnancy. I will never forget the sacred heart with dancing flames on his chest, nor the impact of the simple words he expressed to me - "I am so proud of you, Elizabeth."

I am so very grateful for your love, Jesus. Thank you for always being there.

Tonight, I am looking back on a meditation I did yesterday and am very grateful for the result. I appear to have banished an attachment that had been the root cause of a very uncomfortable pain in my tailbone. I thought it was from sitting for long hours at the computer at work. However, now that I have cleared what I realize was the primary cause of my discomfort, the pain has been alleviated. It felt like I had bruised my tailbone, and sitting down or standing up were painful for me.

I am grateful for my ability to stand up for myself in the face of negativity, and to communicate my feelings and thoughts as needed.

I am grateful that our Internist Specialty Veterinarian was able to sew the feeding tube for our cat after it had come off. The feeding tube came off after our cat was coughing up some blood. After we arrived at the clinic after 45 minute drive without an appointment, we were informed that the on-call Emergency Veterinarian would just inject 48 hour pain medication to make our cat comfortable and we would have to bring him tomorrow for our regular Internist veterinarian to sew the feeding tube back onto our cat. So we waited for the on-call veterinarian to inject the pain medication. After waiting for 30 minutes, our regular Internist Specialty Veterinarian came out and told us that he was able to attend to our cat in between his appointments, x-ray his feeding tube to ensure it was inserted properly, and sewed it back into his neck.

Our Internist Specialty Veterinarian discussed our cat's situation and let us know that he was ready to do whatever the next step is needed by our cat. The cancer has now has spread to affect his right eye so that the pupil stays dilated and the eyelids stays open all the time.

I am also grateful that the clinic only charged us for the pain medication injection and not for the x-ray or sewing the feeding tube back on. Our Internist Specialty Veterinarian has had to do this several times already without charging to sew the feeding tube back on.

I am grateful that everyone at the clinic is so compassionate and the clinic are very reasonable for charging us fees for services rendered.

I agree with you Flash, when I'm grateful, there is more emotional depth to it than the feeling of appreciation. To me, appreciation is more in the mind than heart, while being grateful is more in the heart than mind.

I'm splitting hairs here. Often, not always, we use grateful about a struggle or difficulty that we have over come, happy that you are no longer in the struggle but it's still dominant vibration. The vibration still implies a bit about the struggle as appreciation is all about who you have become, a state of appreciation is a state of love. One is more conditional one is more unconditional.

Flash
14th April 2018, 19:01
Yes you are splitting hair with your own perception of the word and your own perception of the vibrations you yourself make it carry.

I do not have these perceptions and do not wish to endorse the vibration you did endorse. You realise this is your own making, don’t you?

So, I will go on with gratitude as per the dictionary definition to start with, and the nice vibration I always thought it carries

Up to you if you want to keep or change your own perception/interpretation

Come on Loren, gratitude is gratitude, a thank note to the universe (or to others), it is not relief, it has such a nice color in itself

Forgive me for this very trivial contribution, but it's quite real. :)

Last week I set off for a mountain hike with my dog Mara, but we were stymied by a huge heavy-rain washout in the dirt road leading to the trailhead. I was super-disappointed, because I had a goal in mind, but I either had to head home again, two hours away, or find an alternative.

I settled on another trail that I had no idea about, and had always driven past. I was feeling disgruntled about the entire thing. But Mara was SO happy to get out of the vehicle and gallop off down the trail, exploring every new thing that she found. It was inspiring. She was REALLY grateful to be out there in the wilderness. She didn't care where it was. :) (Dogs don't have goals!)

I really learned from that, consciously, at the time. I paid attention to it all... how she was feeling, and how I was, burdened by the load of being human. And the epilogue? We BOTH had a very wonderful day.

He is so pleased to see me or rather the food --there is now a food que two seagulls stand a few yards back in hope.
The cat is too old to be chasing them.
However I find the pantomime enjoyable.

I have a gratitude "list" I pray this every night.
The more gratitude I have, the more peacful my mental state .
I rarely get stressed now because of the simple spiritual "practices"--the silence of mind is something I am truly grateful to have.

Nothing you relate to us is trivial. You are an inspiration. I admire your get up and go. And after all....

It's nice to open up to other's perspectives. Being in Mara 's essence of playful happiness sounds like an uplifting and fun experience. I appreciate hearing about it.

I am grateful for my family, and I'm still feeling the energy of my trip as I review photos and create music videos to share with them. I sent some cards today expressing my appreciation to let them know how much I love and value them.

I am grateful that I got a nice walk in today. I'm grateful for the fresh air and exercise.

I'm grateful for the food I'm eating right now--a salad and sandwich. I know I'll be fasting by the end of the month, and so I really appreciate "eating days"!

I'm really grateful for everything I have: home, hot water, ability to cook, electricity, cold water (any water!), cozy clothes and blankets. My appreciation has increased because I went through some hard times and it is now impossible to take things for granted. I am even grateful for the difficulties because they made me more appreciative.

Last year I lost my little girl kitty. It broke my heart. I appreciate all the time I had with her, and also the empathy I feel for Onevoice, because otherwise I would not have known how that really feels. I am grateful for my feelings because, to me, it really puts me in touch with Real Reality.

I am grateful for being able to share my feelings and thoughts here on this forum, and especially to focus on gratitude on this thread. What a great focus!

Lots of love to all,

I am grateful for the co-founder of Longevitology to teach the beginner and the intermediate class sessions of Longevitology in this area. Longevitology is a system healing similar to Reiki Healing, where healing energy is transmitted to a patient through specific placement of hands on certain Chakra and the other locations on the body.

I am grateful that my wife's best friend was able to fly up and volunteer to assist in the Longevitology sessions.

I am grateful that my wife's best friend will be able to spend the week with us and more friends will be joining us at the end of the week.

I'm grateful for my friend  who loves to help people and who asked me to join her to assist a girl in need.

I'm grateful that after our visit the girl felt much better. She had been through a lot and had suffered greatly. She was losing her will to live. Today, after our session with her, she seemed happy and encouraged and ready to move forward.

I'm grateful that we are getting rain. :rain: We need it.

I'm grateful for the support of my son in converting files so I can make videos

I'm grateful for the positive, uplifting conversations here on PA and the warm feeling of friendship. :bearhug:

I'm grateful for this thread and Freedom Train for helping me to focus on gratitude.

Being thankful for everything really transforms outcomes. It's miraculous! :star:

I am grateful for you!

I am grateful for this world that has taught me to never believe anything anyone who claims authority ever says.

It has allowed me the space to learn how to think and how to reach my own decisions.

Unfortunately, having to rely solely on myself has led to many wrong conclusions and incorrect courses of action.

But there is always you. Just when I need a friend, there you are again!

You

Totter through the tall grass
Barefoot
Without a care
It's like walking on air!
But if I should fall down
Stub my toe
Skin my knee
And there you'll be.

Soon I'm riding my bike
Carefree
Gliding on air
The wind whipping my hair.

Time flies
Wait a minute
Just when I need a friend
There you are again.

You.

Traffic jam makes me late
Stressed out
Tired and owed
Less than I can afford.
Still I must pay my bills
Feed the kids
Buy some gas
And parking pass.

Then the kids are all grown
Freedom
Silence as sold
Soon gets wistful and old.

You are Life's true purpose
Just when I need a friend
There you are again.

You.

As I go through the years
Faster
Scenes start to blur
My emotions astir.
I find love then it's gone
Things go right
Then go wrong
And life goes on.

Now I relive those times
Wistful
Different place
Same life with a new face.

You are life's one constant
Just when I need a friend
There you are again.

You.

Everywhere that I go
There you always are.
