Yes...things hit Hama and Aleppo. The #47 base appears to be an arms depot hit, which makes a missile look a lot more powerful.

Israel and U. S. are accused by some, but that would be rather odd given their relative inability and even a U. S. admission they're blanketed with more electronic counter-measures than they have ever seen. It suggests to me the attacks were locally sourced, as the mercenaries do have a few powerful things. We shall find out soon.

Being something that just happened, and not knowing anything about the "single intelligence source", we shall see. As far as I know, the "U. S. Axis" routinely lies about their casualties and will stick their names on a "plane crash in California" or something like that.

The one thing that does make the first reported attack "smell foreign" is that Yarmouk Camp was just surrendered. This is a Palestinian refugee camp seized by rebels four or five years ago, and their last presence in South Damascus.

Syrian Government has confirmed that bases in Hama and Aleppo have been hit by enemy missiles.

Unconfirmed, so no official Syrian and or Iranian statement yet: dozens upon dozens of (mostly) Iranian soldiers (of all factions) have been killed tonight.

An overnight missile attack in Syria's northern region has killed 26 pro-government fighters, mostly Iranians, a Syria war monitoring group said Monday.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the attack appears to have been carried out by Israel and targeted an arms depot for surface-to-surface missiles at a base in northern Syria known as Brigade 47. The Observatory said four Syrians were also among casualties.

It said the death toll could rise as the attack also wounded 60 fighters and there were several others are still missing.

The attack comes amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel following an airstrike earlier this month on Syria's T4 air base in central province of Homs that killed seven Iranian military personnel. Syria, Iran and Russia blamed Israel for that attack. Israel did not confirm or deny it.

My guess is that Israel did this, and that some combination of Iran, Russia and Syria will retaliate. Minutes before it was scheduled to begin, the Likud canceled its celebratory Knesset opening faction meeting due to Netanyahu and several other ministers still being in Tel Aviv for a Security Cabinet meeting on the Syria strikes.

COVERT INTEL Iran has called-up its QUDS force; a special forces unit of Iran's Revolutionary Guards responsible for their extraterritorial operations. The Quds Force reports directly to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei. Its commander is Major General Qasem Soleimani and his deputy was Hossein Hamadani. While "little is reliably known" about the force, as of 2007, its size was estimated at 15,000 troops. The United States has designated the Quds Force a supporter of terrorism since 2007.

Israeli Emergency Cabinet meeting has ended; lasted about 90 minutes. This was a very urgent, very serious meeting. Not about what has happened but what is planned from both sides. The flames of war just got a bit hotter.

In what many are saying could be an announcement of WAR with Iran, the Israeli government has announced Prime Minister Netanyahu will address his nation tonight at 8:00PM local time.

COVERT INTEL: My former colleagues in the Intelligence Community tell me that Netanyahu will reveal "dramatic" information about Iranian nuclear project. This after urgent session of the Israeli security cabinet earlier today.

According to INTEL sources, when Cabinet Members heard what is taking place, most of them (not all) respectfully but adamantly INSISTED the Prime Minister alert the nation.

My sources tell me he will reveal that over 200 large surface-to-surface missiles were destroyed at an Iranian Base inside Syria, and the _only_ purpose for missiles such as that, would be to attack Israel from Syria. Due to the proximity of such Syria=based Iranian missiles, Israel would not have enough time to warn its people or to take defensive action in the event of a launch.

Netanyahu will tell his people that these missiles are designed for a surprise "First Strike" against Israel. It is not yet known whether the Prime Minister will announce War.

Israel is about 7 hours AHEAD of the U.S. East Coast in terms of time zone. So around 1:00 PM eastern US time the address to his nation should take place.

There are further Cabinet meetings planned and senior cabinet ministers are changing their schedules for tomorrow, along with military visits being cancelled.

This is very telling. It feels like we won't even make it to May 12th or 14th without some kind of major escalation taking place. May is gonna prove to be one heck of a month!

I got a different sense, listening to Netanyahu's speech today, than I expected.

I expected to hear a justification for war, dubious evidence that Iran had nukes and would likely soon attack Israel.

I heard instead a justification for Trump to renegotiate the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with Iran.

I recall a few months ago worrying that Trump's somewhat over the top grand standing of military power in Asia risked reigniting war on the Korean peninsula. Instead, it seems that this is Trump's negotiating style; being the "maddest" "biggest" dude in the room throws others off balance and opens up opportunities for "better" deals.

Of course, what's a "better" or a "worse" deal is a subjective criteria, but I am hopeful that Trump's criteria may turn out to be better, from my perspective, than the criteria of other recent US Presidents.

A Q post earlier today fits in with my shifting view. Just as it seems that North Korea's nuclear bomb efforts were deeply entangled with the Bush-Clinton-Obama-CIA-Saudi-Etc crime syndicate, similarly from Q post #1306, it seems that Iran's nuclear bomb efforts may be similarly entangled. Our cancer is not a case of a cancerous liver, at war with a still good pancreas, but rather a Stage 5 metastasized cancer that has deep roots in many of our vital organs. Killing, or even pushing back, the cancer, without killing the patient (our civilization) can be a challenging task.

As Q has been telling us, Iran is next. The Iranian drama has now entered its main acts, with the events of the last day.

So, reconnecting with the immediate reality of these explosions in Syria, these preludes to war (or so they seem to those of us who remember the all-too-many previous such runups to war in the Middle East) may be a setup to deconstruct some of the worst of the global crime syndicate that has infected our civilization in recent decades.

Perhaps the culminating act of the decades of war and strife in various regions of North Africa, Middle East, Korea, Yugoslavia, and the Ukraine, since World War II will surprise us with less mass violence and murder, rather than more.

In my frequently pessimistic view, this doesn't however necessarily mean that the evil side of humanity is defeated. Rather it means to me that one particular malignancy that had overgrown its reasonable scope is being trimmed back. I am imagining the Godfathers of leading Mafia families, deciding that some of their gangs (what does the Mafia call their gangs?) had gone too far into pedophilia and organ harvesting, and needed to be trimmed back. The Mafia would still be the Mafia, and it would still have its principles and its crimes, just not allowing such excesses.

My sense is that something like that is happening on a global scale, a couple of levels higher up on the pyramid of power than the Mafia, at levels where it is not for common folk such as myself to speak with confidence the names of the dominant individuals, families or associations.

In short, I came away from Netanyahu's speech much more optimistic than I expected to. Perhaps the "War to end all wars" in the Middle East that I have been anticipating will be quite a bit less dramatic and deadly than I feared.

The only time he still dissents is over Mueller. As I said on the Q thread it depends
who is playing who and Trump still looks in charge.

I'm not sure how anyone would limit Iranian activities; they are an ally; they have a mutual defense pact with Syria. Whereas Israel is not an ally of the U. S.; they simply have "common interests". They probably still believe they can scare someone, but that's not even working in Yemen, and, I take it more as a sign that they are, themselves, scared. Pretty sure the Muscovites already understood that Zion doesn't want Persia nearby. It's not likely they care about such a complaint, at least not in a sympathizing manner.

You radically understate the influence of Israel on the United States, or, perhaps I should say that you radically underestimate the degree to which both Israel and the United States are controlled by the same entities.

WASHINGTON — An Israeli airstrike on the western Syrian city of Hama on Sunday killed two dozen Iranian soldiers (http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/israel-eyed-after-hama-syria-attack-reportedly-kills-iranians-n870006) and targeted arms recently delivered from Iran, said three U.S. officials, and is the latest sign that Israel and Iran are moving closer to open warfare.

"On the list of the potentials for most likely live hostility around the world, the battle between Israel and Iran in Syria is at the top of the list right now," said one senior U.S. official.

Three U.S. officials say Israeli F-15s hit Hama after Iran delivered weapons to a base that houses Iran's 47th Brigade, including surface-to-air missiles. In addition to killing two dozen troops, including officers, the strike wounded three dozen others.

Israel is increasingly wary (https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/iran-israel-battle-openly-race-define-rules-game-n847946) of Iran's influence in neighboring Syria, the three U.S. officials say. While Russia runs the air war for the Assad regime in Syria, Iran is now running the ground war, the officials said, with Iranian military present at every major Russian and Syrian regime base in the country.

In the past two weeks Iran has increased military cargo flights to Syria, stocked with additional weapons and supplies like small arms, ammunition and surface-to-air missiles that two U.S. officials believe are meant both to shore up Iranian ground forces and to strike at Israel. For years the U.S. has tracked arms shipments from Iran to Hezbollah fighters in Syria supporting the Assad regime, but recently Iran has been supplying Hezbollah with more material and logistical support.

The three U.S. officials said Israel now seems to be preparing for military action and is seeking U.S. help and support.
