I literally burst out in tears when I came across this dogs story, so sad.

Don't know how bad the origional injoury was.

Look at his beautiful and mighty creature of nature
so resilient yet, totally helpless in ways,
unable to eradicate the maggots himself he just crawled into a hole.

(Actually the maggots probably stooped much infection, but infested too long and eat away the face and maybe one eye.)

Lost one eye but then while healing the left eye appeared out of the mess and was undamaged :)

What an amazing and in the end very, very lucky dog.

He looks so happy now ;)

Seeing the great ending I burst out in tears of joy, as I type I'm
tearing up again:)

To go through this ordeal and still be sane and totally friendly, amazing

Now how wonderful those humans are, what lovely people

Caution: This video contains graphic images of a severely wounded dog and his amazing recovery.

We found Kalu inside of a hole at a construction site where he had gone to die. His face was severely wounded and infested with maggots. His recovery is truly one of the most awe-inspiring and miraculous recoveries we have ever seen.

Looks beyond happy recovery doesn't he.
You wouldn't know by looking that he still had one good eye, so glad.

Every time we humans do an act of kindness such as this, it redeems the whole of humanity. That was a stunning video. :clapping:

Maggots only eat dead flesh -- they actually probably allowed him to live as long as he did to get rescued, else the infection would have killed him.

Tough little doggie!
