A moment to appreciate the smaller things of this world.

Paul Barton plays Claude Debussy’s classic “Clair de Lune” for a gentle female elephant named Ampan. Ampan is 80 years old and lives at the Elephants World Sanctuary in Thailand.
She is blind in one eye and can barely see with the other. 80 years is very old for an elephant and about 10 years past their natural life span in the wild.

Couple of good comments under the video:

Hope those piano keys aren't made from ivory....

Elephants flap their ears when they are happy or excited. They do it when greeting each other or other groups as well. Also thought to be used for cooling as well.

One of my favorite pieces of music. A masterpiece written for the heart. The elephant begins flapping his ears right from the start. Super find Frankie!

Elephants have such a big heart. This reminds me of the elephant protector who died in South Africa about 4 years ago. He had quite the reputation for protecting elephants from poachers. Packs of elephants who were hundreds of miles apart from each other came by his home to pay their last respects, raising their heads to blare their sounds of grief as they passed by. Pack after pack for days. Fascinating story.

My day is just starting down here in Australia, and no matter what happens or comes my way, that just made it:)
