SUNSPOT, New Mexico - The National Solar Observatory in Sunspot, New Mexico, and a nearby United States Postal Service office, were evacuated for security reasons Thursday, observatory officials said.
"We have decided to temporarily vacate this facility as a precautionary measure. And we're working with the proper authorities on this issue," Association for Universities for Research in Astronomy spokeswoman Sheri Lofson said.
Friday, both properties remained closed to the public, with yellow caution tape around the property.
Sunspot is located in the Sacramento Mountains in Otero County about 15 miles south of Cloudcroft. There is currently a working telescope at the observatory, where New Mexico State University also conducts research.
"As locals I feel that we should know what's going on around us," Cloudcroft resident Roger Wiley said.
A spokesman for the Otero County Sheriff's Office said they are not involved in the investigation.
A post office in the area has also been shut down..... more but not much more

My thoughts? Something in the mail? Why wasn't the local police informed? Other nations also have solar observatories, I can't find any big news from them either hinting on something going on with the sun. Anyway I thought it was interesting

I wonder why they used the word “evacuated”.
Looking up the word “evacuate” I get:
* to remove (persons or things) from a place, as a dangerous place or disaster area, for reasons of safety or protection:
* to evacuate the inhabitants of towns in the path of a flood.
* to remove persons from (a city, town, building, area, etc.) for reasons of safety:
* to evacuate the embassy after a bomb
So the Solar Observatory AND the Post Office have been closed for 'security reasons'?
Look at this yellow tape and a stop sign ..... doesn’t seem to be that serious. Or.........

Well the FBI closed it down perhpas a certain ex-agent could get us the scoop for some answers?
Spokeswoman Shari Lifson said.
“We don’t know that yet (when the facility will open again),” Lifson said. “We are working with the proper authorities on this issues. The local authorities do know and are aware of the situation. I don’t know when the facility was vacated but it was within the last day. It’s a temporary evacuation of the facility. We open it up as soon as possible.”
She said she cannot comment on whether the FBI was involved in the situation.
Otero County Sheriff Benny House said the Otero County Sheriff’s Office was asked to standby.
“The FBI is refusing to tell us what’s going on,” House said. “We’ve got people up there (at Sunspot) that requested us to standby while they evacuate it. Nobody would really elaborate on any of the circumstances as to why. The FBI were up there. What their purpose was nobody will say.”
He said he has a lot of unanswered question about what occurred at Sunspot.
“But for the FBI to get involved that quick and be so secretive about it, there was a lot of stuff going on up there,” House said. “There was a Blackhawk helicopter, a bunch of people around antennas and work crews on towers but nobody would tell us anything.”
The Daily News contacted the Albuquerque FBI spokesman seeking comment for this story, but telephone calls and messages were never returned.
House said he pulled his deputies from the facility after there was no identifiable threat.
“They wanted us up there to help evacuate but nobody would tell us anything,” he said. “We went up there and everything was good. There was no threat. Nobody would identify any specific threat. We hung out for a little while then we left. No reason for us to be there. Nobody would tell us what we’re supposed to be watching out for.”
House said he doesn’t understand why Sunspot didn’t call or notify them of the situation.
“They’re not federal employees,” he said. “It maybe somebody who threatened one of their workers. If that’s the case, why didn’t call us and let us deal with it. These guys are regular workers that work for this company. I don’t know why the FBI would get involved so quick and not tell us anything.”

News outlets have reported over the last few days that the National Solar Observatory (https://www.nso.edu) in Sunspot, New Mexico, was evacuated and closed last Thursday. According to reports, it's still closed. A local post office and some homes were also evacuated. Federal agents, reportedly, were/are there.
From an article published today by the Daily Mail (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-6160345/National-Solar-Observatory-shuts-mysterious-security-issue-geomagnetic-storm-looms.html): The FBI has since showed up to the site and Blackhawk helicopters have been seen circling overhead, but officials remain tight-lipped as to what’s going on, saying only that they are ‘addressing a security issue.’
I should also point out that the closure has coincided with a geomagnetic storm (https://www.livescience.com/63550-aurora-september-solar-storm.html) that we've been experiencing here on Planet Earth.
The short video below includes local news coverage.

I don't watch a lot of movies, but I did see the Thor films. When I first saw the headline on what was happening in Sunspot, New Mexico, I immediately thought it must be Thor's hammer. :sun: Then I went to, "Ok, this is interesting," followed quickly by "Remember who we're dealing with: MSM and our government." It could be a show, or an illusion -- maybe with bits borrowed from Marvel -- to take us for a ride (a distraction or to set us up for a fall).
I think the Thor clip below was filmed somewhere in that area.

I like Jim Stone's (http://jimstone.is) take on this:
Solar observatory shut down
I did not see much in this but it made Drudge so I will at least mention it. A solar observatory in the town of Sunspot New Mexico got raided by the FBI complete with black hawk helicopters and the entire town was forced to leave. The problem with the alien conspiracies and "something must be wrong with the sun" conspiracies is that aliens won't care about a solar observatory and there are many many solar observatories elsewhere that can all see the same thing and none got shut down. There's no doubt something screwy going on there, but it could be anything from a major drug bust to a militia wipe out to you name it.
The bottom line is that there was nothing special about this particular observatory that is not duplicated elsewhere and aliens simply would not give a crap about our pathetic 5, 000 years outdated observation tools. The presence of an observatory where all the action happened is a probable coincidence.
More likely: There was a confirmed failed rocket launch and the rocket probably came down somewhere nearby, with a classified payload so the FBI moved in and cleared the area. That's my take on this.
The White Sands Missile Range is just 30 miles west of here, so a failed launch from there would quite possibly go down somewhere in Sunspot, New Mexico.

I'm not familiar with this story as last night was the first time I heard about it, so forgive me for not being up to date on this thread. My station was transitioning to Coast to Coast am so I couldn't hear anymore of the interview and haven't had time to go back. Apparently this person has given good intel on air to Clyde before so he has a good track record. He was discussing a 'hack' situation, possibly China, and it's tied to controlling the Sun. Just a thought - could it simply be a training exercise with some statistics gathering happening like who in social media reacts and assumes "something" (other than just the obvious - it was a simulation test complete with black helicopters and evacuations all on a "suspicious sounding town name").
Like let's all have a George Orwell-like scenario and see what social media does with it?
Me, I would go for the obvious, it was just a "test" all across the board.. My best guess is 'they got what they wanted to find out' - how social media would react, how the folks and agencies involved would react..

That seems the most plausible. But I wish I could find out what happened with the military helicopters he references. Having experienced this phenomenon, I have much interest in the subject.

Yes I know it sounds crazy...it has something to do with having the ability to control coronal mass ejections. The guy said watch the hurricane you are going to see surprises or something to that effect. If I had to guess, that storm is hovering over N.C. for a reason and I think it's because of all the nuclear reactors...if too much storm surge occurs we run the risk of a nuclear meltdown just like Fukushima, the entire East Coast will be in big trouble if that occurs. I think the guy sharing the info might be from DARPA....he's called in before and Clyde said the information he's given in the past ended up being correct. He goes by the name of 'Sam' and disguises his voice, I don't think he's kidding.
I'm heading out of town in an hour and will be gone all weekend, otherwise I'd go back and transcribe. We don't get the full Clyde Lewis show because Coast to Coast a.m. comes on around 11pm MST. If I had to guess, the guy came on within the last two hours of the show, look just before the top of the hour. I think Clyde's show is 4 hours? Can't remember.

Just curious Foxie Loxie, where did you get the radiation leak idea? Your own idea or somewhere else? I'm trying to understand why the people were evacuated and not allowed to return. Doesn't seem to fit with the hacking idea. There is a large amount of mercury underground at the observatory, but not sure if anything radioactive. The complete absence of people seems to point to some kind of environmental disaster.

GIGANTIC and Metallic object next to the Sun? Is this one of the reasons for the evacuation of the Solar Observatory in New Mexico? Source: FULL CREDIT to Gina Maria Colvin Hill

The above paragraphs in this article before these videos re New Mexico closure, it is even more worrying that all these other facilities alll over the world, all at the same time, have been closed as well. The first video shows that these objects are enormous and the mind boggling number of what appear to be ships. And the third video shows just how gigantic these objects are. That together with the animation of the magnetisphere attempting to push against possibly these objects from both sides is remarkably similar to what the Zetas have said would happen when Nibiru and the red star get very close to the earth as it tries to escape their magnetic force in the last stages of their passage out. Nancy Leider also states in her newsletter this week that nibiru is between us and the sun presently. Can’t think what else of such importance could cause them to shut down all these observatories globally.

Solar observatories around the planet that are operating today
GREGOR Solar Telescope......GREGOR is the third-largest solar telescope in the world, location Spain.......operated by the Germans
Teide Observatory..........Telescopes THEMIS solar telescope............SEE THE LIST
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_solar_telescopes
There are tons more on the planet and at the link and notice of the six mentioned being shut down there is no mention of many of these international ones and many are operating. on the list.
Right now I'm thinking because of the post office shutdown the FBI had a hint of something nasty they were tracking headed towards this place. A scientist that is no longer there wanted his vengeance and maybe the FBI didn't know if it arrived yet?..... Scientist do know of nasty things aka 30s mad scientist movies.
If its a chinese contrived conspiracy, which is possible but don't see it because this site is not that big on the list of solar observatories.
If you go to a topographical map there are better locations and mt range to the west of to observe white sands so I don't know about that conjecture on something secret going on at the bases in the valley and this was an observation post that had to be shut down.
To me it sounds like some biological radiation or environmental scare /threat which may explain the other US sites being turned off since they are affiliated with each other and they too were a target that the FBI was following?
Who knows?
The FBI should say wtf is going on, this was a terrible PR strategy by these idiots

SUNSPOT - Sunspot Observatory was closed and evacuated Sept. 6 due to an undisclosed security risk. Federal officials aren't saying why it was closed, and the silence has led to international media coverage and plenty of speculation.
Authorities remain tight-lipped.
The FBI referred all questions to the group that manages the site, the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy. Officials there say they’re working with authorities.
AURA released a statement Friday, stating it has "decided that the observatory will remain closed until further notice due to an ongoing security concern. The rest of the National Solar Observatory (NSO) facilities remain open and are operating normally."
“Nothing’s changed from last week,” AURA spokeswoman Shari Lifson said by phone Thursday afternoon. Lifson offered no further information.
Security guards from Alamogordo private security firm Red Rock Security were posted at the observatory's gate on Thursday due to the amount of curious visitors who have come to the site since the closure, said Red Rock security guard Angel Escalante.
Approximately 35 people had come to the site by Friday afternoon, she said.
"(Thursday) was way worse and that's why they had us come up here — tons of people were trying to get in," Escalante said.
The guards are stationed at the gate around the clock, but they have not been in the facility and have no more of an idea about what's going on than anyone else, Escalante said.
"We're just mainly right here making sure people don't come past this point," said Red Rock guard Joe Mangum. "Everybody was evacuated, and from that point, that's as far as they can go."
A tent belonging to an employee and resident of the observatory was set up near the gate. The employee is allowed to enter the facility to do routine maintenance but can't stay in his home, Escalante said.
"He just comes in to do what's he's got to do, work his shift, and that's it," she said.
Everyone evacuated
Everyone in the facility and the Sunspot community was evacuated on Sept. 6, said Sunspot Solar Observatory Director and New Mexico State University astronomy professor R.T. James McAteer.
NMSU's four employees at Sunspot were evacuated, as were employees of AURA, McAteer said. AURA announced Friday that approximately nine NMSU and AURA staff are employed at the observatory.
The U.S. Postal Service, which operates the Sunspot Post Office, evacuated its employees as well, though McAteer said he did not know how many people worked at the facility.
There were also about 12 to 15 residents who were evacuated, he said.
“Last Thursday, we got a phone call in the morning from AURA who told us to say that they were temporarily evacuating the site and asked us to evacuate our people,” McAteer said. “So, I called our people up and asked them to leave in a very sensible and calm manner and locked everything up. We’ve been out of there since Thursday morning.”
McAteer said in an email to the Associated Press that it will be up to the astronomy research association to decide when Sunspot reopens.
“We have paused observations, and are taking this opportunity to catch up with the back log of data from previous months,” he said.
Sunspot observations
Located atop Sacramento Peak, the observatory was established in 1947. It overlooks the Tularosa Basin – an expanse of desert that includes the city of Alamogordo, Holloman Air Force Base, White Sands Missile Range, White Sands National Monument and the site of the world’s first atomic bomb test.
The telescope at Sunspot was originally built by the U.S. Air Force. After several years of operation, it was transferred to the National Solar Observatory, which is part of the National Science Foundation.
New Mexico State University in 2016 launched an initiative funded by the foundation to upgrade and update the facility through the newly formed Sunspot Solar Observatory Consortium.
Sunspot’s one-of-a-kind telescope produces some of the sharpest images of the sun available in the world, officials said.
Data from observations done at Sunspot is sent to New Mexico State University servers and can be used by researchers around the world.
“Those are the two building where we have our employees at in Sunspot: the telescope and the visitor’s center,” McAteer said. The staff is responsible for the guided tours and scientific data, he said.
The Richard B. Dunn Solar Telescope, which McAteer and his team operate, rotates on a mercury float bearing at the top of the tower.
The mercury was not the reason for the closure, McAteer said.
“There’s no mercury incident. That’s a completely different set of protocols that would not have involved them locking all the doors,” McAteer said. “We have a very regular maintenance routine. There is no cause for concern there.”
There's been no word whether, or if, evacuations will be lifted.
The observatory posted this message to its website and social media platforms:
"On Thursday Sept 6, AURA made the decision to temporarily close Sunspot. The Sunspot Solar Observatory continues to work closely with AURA in order to allow for us to reopen as soon as possible. With the excitement this closure has generated, we hope you will come and visit us when we do reopen, and see for yourself the services we provide for science and public outreach in heliophysics. If you have any questions about the science we perform at the telescope, or about the outreach we provide through our Visitors Center, please contact our Director, Dr McAteer at mcateer@nmsu.edu "

My "source" is a source. He lives in the Alamogordo area. He has several law enforcement contacts. He has a relative who is employed in a capacity to have daily contacts at Sunspot and hear what's going on there. I also have DoD contacts in the area. I also have federal contacts. I jumped in on this because I happen to have these contacts in that area and I've personally been given a private tour of the Apache Point Observatory site one mile south of Sunspot and the issue caught my interest. :)

Here's my take on the solar observatory closed issue. A bit of backstory-- This took me 8 hours to film and edit. I then saw the announcement from AURA that employees of the observatory were returning to work today. So, I shot the final "second clincher" (20:13), re-edited, then uploaded it yesterday 9/16. It went live at 1220 this AM. So there are a couple logical flaws in this, but, I think I raise the issue of a planned closing/demolition/moving of operations nonetheless :)
"Solar Observatory Closed - Is this all smoke and mirrors? Solar observatory closed due to "ongoing security concern," officials say. In this video, I review elements of the theories surrounding why the National Solar Observatory was Closed by the FBI and present an alternative theory of the observatory closure that doesn't require UFOs, Aliens, or Sun Control. The FBI referred all questions to the group that manages the site, the Association of Universities for
Research in Astronomy."

-brief history of WSMR
-UFOS / Aliens

Thank you :) I prefer the conspirasphere, but I have this fascination with "multiple data points". One of the commenters had mentioned that tyler from secureteam10 hyped this whole issue up and started other channels doing the same. I'd rather limit that sort of thing and try my best to present a middle ground, even if I'm wrong! And I often say, I hope I'm wrong! LOL

Why Did The FBI Close Down The Solar Observatory In New Mexico?
https://www.iflscience.com/space/sunspot-solar-observatory-new-mexico-reeopened-heres-why-closed/
.............
The statement describes the close-down of the facility, which occurred in an “orderly fashion”, as being related to a security issue – something an earlier statement alluded to.
“AURA has been cooperating with an on-going law enforcement investigation of criminal activity that occurred at Sacramento Peak,” the statement explains. “During this time, we became concerned that a suspect in the investigation potentially posed a threat to the safety of local staff and residents.
“The decision to vacate was based on the logistical challenges associated with protecting personnel at such a remote location, and the need for expeditious response to the potential threat,” the statement adds. “AURA determined that moving the small number of on-site staff and residents off the mountain was the most prudent and effective action to ensure their safety.”
............
The investigation continued, and it was determined that there was no risk to staff. As of September 17, it’s business as usual. Well, except for one thing: thanks to the huge amount of publicity the closure garnered, there's now an “unusual number of visitors” to the site, which requires a temporary increase in security.

There is a dome at the Sunspot Site as well. It's smaller and kind of pointed at the top but it's a dome and used like the other domes on the inside.

I remain curious.
Why was the local post office also closed at the same time? Is it open now too? Is the "suspect" also connected to the postal office?
Was something being sent through the mail that posed a threat or danger? If so, was it going going from the observatory or to it?
We'll never be told the truth. That is above our pay grade.

The porn explaination to me doesn't add up. Yes, Astronomers sometimes have extra time on their hands and usually have decent internet so a person might be . I remember the audit done on the Pentagon where they found a lot of porn and child porn sites were visited by personal on their forensic computer investigation
But closing the post office and making people abandon their homes? The servers and their ip addresses of all internet users in the area could be checked without this measure.
Agree ....... Really???

Child porn and pedophilia are seemingly the buzz words and triggers of the moment, for the purposes of agitating the populace in the USA. It is also an act of doubling down on the push and the cover story for overt intrusive observation societies and violation of personal rights. Very 'hidden hand'. Well constructed. They like their twofers and their threefers with clustered input and output of the given scenario.
The kind of moves made where the movement and motion can carry multiple agendas, all intermixed, so you can't tell what went in and what will come out, all on multiple paths and multiple outcomes. Likened to a game of chess where a hand comes in and makes a move and you still have no singular idea of the where from , the singular why, where it lands and where it will singularly go. A cluster of potential, interpretation, and aim. (everything in = everything out) That is what the hidden hand (generally) will always do and always does. You can't observe, project, plan, and act when you don't have a grip... and a hidden hand sort of move is designed to be slippery in origin and potential, in all ways that the motion will support.

The perp was a janitor working on site for about a year. When he was caught, he panicked and fabricated a threat scenario, thus the response team from the FBI. The Bureau used a helicopter because they had to get to the mountaintop site quickly. The unincorporated 'town' of Sunspot has a population of around 80 people with about 30-some residences, most of them for employees of the observatory. The post office is quite small, serving this small community which came into existence with the site decades ago because the nearest town is Cloudcroft almost 20 miles away. During the winters, 20 miles can seem longer and be impractical for immediate needs. The town is essentially on/part of the observatory site. The closing of the post office was simply amid the voluntary evacuation of the homes and other structures there. The report today matches what I was told by a local source with law enforcement contacts last weekend before I made my YouTube reports.
But now let's see if they'll provide a name and photo of said perpetrator...

@ Walter. Thanks for that. There may well still be some loose ends to these shenanigans, and those getting mileage out of the story (they know who they are) will latch onto these minor inconstancies to continue to claim 'there is more to this than meets the eye'. Pity that they won't promote the final outcome with the same vigour they promoted the claptrap in the first place.
If it's not yet been done, there's a project here for someone. That is, make a list of all the apparent weird news stories that just fade away. For example, this one, the weird 'sky noises', 'immovable cubes' appearing on beaches, etc. and then analyse their evolution. Maybe such an analysis will reveal important common elements which could be helpful for future Forteans.

VULCAN
ANSWERS IN THE GALACTIC BACKYARD
MONOLOGUE WRITTEN BY CLYDE LEWIS
It has been several days since we heard about the National Solar Observatory closure in Sunspot, NM and still I get emails, tweets and messages about any and all follow-up stories about why the FBI black helicopters and SUV’s took over the facility and shut down the area post office.
There have been many theories, and we had reports on the show including the infamous “Sam” call, telling us that there was some sort of solar plasma extraction that was recorded there and that it would certainly be seen later that weapons like HAARP and programs like HAMMER and SMACC were being used to create mini CME’s in order to force multiply 9 hurricanes.
It certainly was a compelling report, especially when he said that Hurricane Florence would have a surprise for everyone. Many were saying that the surprise had to be that the storm stalled over the Carolinas.
However, now it has been reported that a piece of Florence that still remained in the Atlantic is showing signs of becoming yet another Hurricane. There is a 20 percent chance that Florence has given birth to a baby storm, which again would be a rare event.
I guess we will have to wait and see if this happens, as with any paranormal or strange story – you should never cancel anything or any theory because things can turn at any given moment, making a liar our of you or a prophet.
Sometimes you just have to chalk it up to synchronicity or coincidence. Estimated guesses are tricky and with weather forecasting, it is always a gamble.
Meanwhile, there are yet again confounding stories as to why the observatory was shut down.
The media and the FBI are claiming that a federal search warrant reveals that National Solar Observatory was shut down as FBI agents conducted computer forensic searches for child pornography.
The source of child pornography was traced to an IP address used at the observatory and a source within the building observed a computer with “not good” images on it, the warrant states.
An investigation by the FBI revealed that a janitor is the main suspect in the search, however, he has not been charged with a crime even though his name is on the warrant.
The warrant states the suspect would use the observatory Wi-Fi and a personal laptop to download the child pornography.
On Sep 12, 2018, the New Mexico State Police found a mystery man who died not too far away from the solar observatory. According to the NPS release, while closing WSNM, park rangers discovered an unattended vehicle in the Alkali Flat Trail parking lot.
After searching the immediate area, park rangers expanded their search to the Alkali Flat Trail where they discovered an unresponsive man about a half mile from the trailhead between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., the release states. New Mexico State Police responded to White Sands National Monument, and then confirmed the man was dead upon their arrival.
There was no report that the man was connected to the investigation.
When FBI agents told local law enforcement to “standby” after the closure and evacuation of the National Solar Observatory in Sunspot, New Mexico, the Otero County Sheriff was confused and said that he felt hat the FBI was chicken **** in not allowing the police to be involved. This created suspicion in the local area.
Now the child pornography story is the official story – and people are not buying it.
Now, all that is left is conspiracy theory and while we still await the verdict on SAM’s call to the show – some recent news stories indicate that the Solar system is not what we think it is and that new revelations about CME’s and hypothetical planets have just arrived in the science news sites.
Even though the sun is in the least active period of its 11-year cycle, also known as solar minimum, the corona is still vulnerable to “holes” opening up inside the sun’s atmosphere. It seems that the Sun was showing a huge black coronal hole on the day of the closure –and there were observers that claimed they were able to extract images of UFO’s or solar particles larger than the earth heading our way.
Some even claimed that a planet like or sphere like silhouette was seen crossing in front of the sun before the closure.
Of course, this started more rumors about Planet X coming to wreak havoc on our little blue planet.
For the longest time scientists have speculated that the Solar System had an extra planet. For centuries hypothetical planets have been speculated about and the idea that we once lived in a binary solar system.
The expectation of a rogue planet like Planet X has always been a topic of fringe science and this expectation persisted for many decades despite the fact that NASA has denied that the planet exists.
Undaunted some of the greatest minds in science have been saying for a long time that a Planet 9 will be seen, which raises the hopes for those that believe that Planet 9 is really Planet X.
The term Planet X has deep roots in the history of astronomy, dating back to the discovery of Neptune in 1846.
Some oddities were found in the orbits of Neptune and Uranus that astronomers couldn’t explain. In 1903, Percival Lowell, the astronomer who’d go on to lay the groundwork for Pluto’s discovery, spoke about a possible ninth planet “X” that could be causing those abnormalities. In 1905, he started using the Lowell Observatory to hunt for it.
Planet X is not a generic reference to some unknown planet, but a specific prediction of Lowell’s which led to the (accidental) discovery of Pluto.
A study released last May, for example, suggests a rocky object dubbed 2015 BP519 orbits the sun on a bizarrely high and eccentric path. A planet about 10 times the mass of Earth and 20 times farther out than Neptune.
No one is calling it Planet X, but I truly believe that there is some trickle down disclosure happening where we will have a definite confirmation of Planet X, but in as far as the scientific nomenclature will reveal.
Having science admit that the planet is actually the mythological Nibiru is probably out of the question.
Scientists are going rogue, playing in our galactic backyard to find answers about rogue planets and they are even considering naming Pluto a planet again.
Then if another planet, a tenth planet in our Solar System is discovered the Roman numeral for it will coincidentally X – that is of course, if it truly is a coincidence.
The simple fact is that Pluto was misclassified when it was first discovered; it was never on the same footing as the other eight worlds. The 2006 move by the IAU to demote it was an incomplete attempt to repair that mistake.
It is yet another piece of controversy as a shell game is afoot because of possible inclusion of other worlds that they most certainly know about – one of those planets is a hypothetical planet called Vulcan.
In earlier scientific speculation, this missing planet was predicted to have been even closer to the Sun than Mercury. And despite the lack of any reliable, consistent observational evidence, it remained there until Einstein shot it out of the sky.
As the other planets were all named for Roman gods, the new planet was fittingly called Vulcan to complete the pantheon. Vulcan was the god of the forge, the metalworker responsible for creating the weapons of the gods (after whom volcanoes take their name). The intense heat of an orbit so close to the Sun makes it an appropriate name. Or it would have, if the planet existed.
It can be tempting to think of the story of Vulcan as a blunder, a laughable embarrassment in the history of science. Or worse, as evidence that science isn’t all it’s cracked up to be in general.
There was a shocking study published in the Public Library of Science Journal, that found“ up to 72%” of scientists admitted their colleagues were engaged in “questionable research practices,” and that just over 14% of them were engaged in outright “falsification.”
This becomes especially concerning when we consider how “science” seems to have replaced organized religion as the new authority that should blindly be obeyed in many ways. People speak of it as if it is infallible, and anyone who questions the high priests of science are generally attacked, degraded, and dismissed as modern day heretics.
We recently discussed that secularism is being embraced by the younger generations as they want to use science to explain the mysteries of life rather than religion.
Now even science is being scrutinized as being off in their discoveries and their answers.
In and of itself, science is obviously inanimate and can do neither good nor bad because it has no mind of its own. It is not a person, so we need to stop talking about science like it is a super hero. It is simply a vehicle that requires a driver, and the destination obviously differs from one driver to the next.
It also differs from one day to the next, especially when we talk about the solar system and the possibilities of hypothetical planets becoming real planets or real planets coming out or irregular orbits like Planet X.
For example, Planet Vulcan, which most people are familiar with because it is the home planet to Mr. Spock on Star Trek, became a little more real recently, thanks to some exoplanet research.
Because “Star Trek” creators eventually associated planet Vulcan with a real star, called 40 Eridani A, scientists have wondered for years whether a factual equivalent of the beloved science fiction planet exists, with or without pointy-eared inhabitants. And now, a team of scientists has said that the star really does host at least one planet.
Bo Ma, the lead author of the new research and an astronomer at the University of Florida, said in a statement “This star can be seen with the naked eye, unlike the host stars of most of the known planets discovered to date. Now, anyone can see 40 Eridani A on a clear night and be proud to point out Spock’s home.
That star, located about 16 light-years away from Earth, is also known as HD 26965. It’s a bit orange because it’s a little smaller and cooler than our sun. But it also has some clear similarities to Earth’s star: It’s about the same age and sports a fairly similar sunspot pattern. That’s good news for people hoping for real-life Vulcan residents. Matt Muterspaugh, an astronomer at Tennessee State University and a co-author on the new research said in a statement that “HD 26965 may be an ideal host star for an advanced civilization.”
Two additional stars accompany HD 26965, and they would be visible from the planet’s surface. The planet itself doesn’t look quite as appealing as the star, because this world seems to orbit a little too close to its sun to be in the habitable zone where liquid water can be retained on the surface. However, scientists are still pinning down precisely what other characteristics determine a planet’s habitability. The newfound planet is about twice the size of Earth, and its year lasts about 42 days.
The researchers behind the discovery are excited about more than just the “Star Trek” connection, though, they said. The new find is also the first so-called super-Earth discovered by the Dharma Planet Survey, which is designed to hunt down relatively small planets around relatively bright stars.
Vulcan has been a name given to hypothetical and unknown rogue planets for centuries. It is recorded that a planet that would be similar to Vulcan was orbiting between Mercury and the sun and disturbing the order of the solar system – it in conjunction with Mars passing close to earth was said to bring war famine and pestilence.
The Babylonians called this “Nebu Uru” an effect of planetary interloping or crossing where the eventual conjunction of planets created a menacing shadow form in the heavens. If it sounds similar to Nibiru – there is no accident since the name Nibiru is Akkadian and also means “crossing place” or “place of transition”, which is connected to the transformation of alchemy or the changing catalyst in our solar system.
In ancient texts the most threatening planet was Jupiter and so the Nebu Uru or the crossing often pointed to Jupiter as the planet that could have been a new Sun – it was then believed through Saturni cults that Saturn was the dark father or the dead sun.
Way back in 1940, Chilean astronomer Carlos Munoz Ferrada predicted accurately that the powers-that-be would attempt to cover-up Planet X when it comes barreling towards the Earth. Ferrada referred to Nibiru/Planet X as a “Comet-Planet” because it has the size of a planet but speed and elliptical orbit of a comet.
In 1976, Zecharia Sitchin wrote a book called, The Twelfth Planet or Nibiru.
Nibiru in Sumerian tablets referred to an undiscovered 12th Planet or Planet X. Unlike the other planets in our solar system, Nibiru allegedly has an elliptical orbit and moves clockwise rather than counterclockwise. Nibiru’s orbit passes through our solar system only once every 3,600 years.
On December 31, 1983 A Washington Post article entitled: “Possibly as Large as Jupiter; Mystery Heavenly Body Discovered,” said the following:
“A heavenly body possibly as large as the giant planet Jupiter and possibly so close to Earth that it would be part of this solar system has been found in the direction of the constellation Orion by an orbiting telescope aboard the U.S. infrared astronomical satellite.
So mysterious is the object that astronomers do not know if it is a planet, a giant comet, a nearby “protostar” that never got hot enough to become a star, a distant galaxy so young that it is still in the process of forming its first stars or a galaxy so shrouded in dust that none of the light cast by its stars ever gets through.”
The truth is stranger than fiction as this report was not on the Internet and was actually reported in hard copy to let the world know that someday we would be seeing this planet—or the arrival of the huge celestial body very soon.
This planet was called Planet X by astronomers.
“The most fascinating explanation of this mystery body, which is so cold it casts no light and has never been seen by optical telescopes on Earth or in space, is that it is a giant gaseous planet as large as Jupiter and as close to Earth as 50 trillion miles. While that may seem like a great distance in earthbound terms, it is a stone’s throw in cosmological terms, so close in fact that it would be the nearest heavenly body to Earth beyond the outermost planet Pluto.”
No one spoke of it since — the idea has now long been forgotten except there has always been and always will be the reports of what are called, hypothetical planets.
In 2012, NASA stated emphatically there was no scientific evidence to support the existence of Nibiru and NASA even released a statement refuting the claims, after the agency was accused of a conspiracy to cover up the Nibiru threat to avoid mass panic.
While NASA still contends there is no threat from a doomsday planet, there are still other astronomers that are still looking for Nibiru – just as they have for Planet Vulcan.
EDIT TO ADD: A couple of days ago, Clyde said he was going to be on the Alex Jones show tomorrow Friday...if I had to guess, Alex is probably interested in the intel Clyde has been receiving from this 'Sam' individual, so it might be interesting to listen to.

Kerry Cassidy and Simon Parkes (and their sources) came to similar conclusions in the recent Camelot interview.

I spoke to a relative that lives out that way and she told me the following. The satellite taking the image orbits around the earth. It went around one side catching the earth shadow as it flipped around the back side, then as it took five hours plus later it was on the other side of the planet earth swinging the back side of the earth giving the illusion the earth shadow moved the opposite direction. Very simple. The fact is the shadow is the earth itself!
The other fact is that should not have shown up on the live feed and when the people that know this should not have been on the live feed noticed that it did they immediately knew that someone had to have hacked the system and/or somehow changed input data and reprogrammed the timing sequence as this is the only way that the shadow of the earth would be seen which is why no one knew what it was when it happened!
It was immediately reported that data had been breached and security had been breached and when the people wanted to fix that they realized that the data was missing to reload the program which worked earlier that day! So the disc was missing! So immediately the post office was shut down to prevent anything being mailed out of town that may contain that lost confidential data! Got it? Cut and dry the other systems were shut down at other observatories as a precautions because if one is hacked the likelihood of all being effected is great since they are all networked and function together.
She said that the FBI soon realized all that was a ploy to lead them away from the janitor who was simply trying to cover his tracks and make it look like someone anonymous did a hack when it was him from inside. Apparently they found the disc in his office or something.

Thanks Ratszinger. As usual, the likely facts are much more boring than aliens, an impending solar catastrophe or other made up BS!
When the dust settles, no doubt Simon Parkes, Kerry Cassidy and all the other conspiracy band-waggon jumpers will apologise for making stuff up or repeating nonsense just because it sounds good and fits their credulous followers' belief system.
On the other hand, like every other time doom porn falls flat, the doom-porn merchants never acknowledge that. They just silently move on hoping no-one will notice. Unfortunately hardly any one does notice so they can just do it again and again and again...
And I thought people were supposed to be 'awakening'...?

That's pretty interesting, and still seems to leave some unanswered questions. Linda Howe opened with the story (as known at that time, 3 days ago) on her 19 Sept livestream, here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kh4LawTQafI), and no doubt she'll update that this coming Wednesday. I'd be confident she'll make a clear statement about the entire thing. Joseph Farrell has also been writing about it here (https://gizadeathstar.com/2018/09/aura-finally-releases-a-statement-about-the-observatory-closing).
By the way. the '6 observatories shut down' story was (it seems) manufactured by Secureteam10, which is a click-bait channel presenting a lot of hoaxes and other wild speculation. Beware.

That is a good point and in her defense I asked about the other observatories. She didn't volunteer that part so I don't know that she knew about that until I asked. She simply said it would make sense since they do work in conjunction with each other a lot at the other observatories.

I add this in here because of its interest. This is Dick Allgire, who's a respected and successful remote viewer. This short video was published on 18 Sept, 4 days ago.
Allgire states that he predicted this event a month ago, which itself is worthy of a raised eyebrow. In the rest of the video he speculates, maybe unproductively, as he says himself that another remote viewing session is needed. Regard this as infotainment, but the video is only 6 mins long.
* Worth noting: his statement that the observatory has a 'dome', just like the one he drew, is only partially correct. There's a small dome there, but it's not the main observatory. This is probably the best photo of the entire complex.

In Linda Howe's weekly Phenomenon Radio broadcast of 20 Sept, her mid-show news summary addresses the Sunspot incident, also reading in depth an analysis e-mailed to her by Peter Levenda.
Listen here at 51:27 for a few minutes. Levenda makes some excellent points.

Bill..... Its a good thing the FBI had the houses boarded up, closed the post office and cordon off the area to stop the spread of the notorious child porn spores which might have gone airborne and hit Santa Fe or white sands. Computers have viruses I heard this might be a new one....
