I have had ear issues since I was a child: aches, infections, wax build up due to small canals, blockage and difficulty hearing
Of late, the ringing in my right ear is super super LOUD and constant. I took myself off to an Ear Specialist (again) and was told nothing that I did not already experience/know.
A more formal diagnosis of "severe deafness; nerve damage" in my right ear.
It is truly making me so tired as the whirring is relentless. I am mindful not to go crazy with this (averting focus), but would love some relief. Am open to any remedies, thoughts, comments, wild explanations, suggestions, solutions.
There is the possibility of a hearing aid (very expensive to buy where I live), but prefer to look into other methods first if possible.
Thank you...

My late father had this and my oldest son has from time to time.
There are numerous "cures" on u tube.
When my son has it bad he comes to me and I do Bio-energy on it--there may be a practitioner near you.
There is nothing but energy in movement and an energy therapist might be the best course
Have a look on u tube if you haven't already.
Best wishes

Sorry you're going through this lunaflare. My wife suffers from tinnitus and vertigo, which can sometime be pretty extreme - most nights she falls asleep relatively early from sheer exhaustion, but there were a few things she found that did help lessen the symptoms. She has tried:
Limiting salt intake
Limiting caffeine intake (1 coffee a day)
Limiting processed sugar intake
Eating organic fruits and veggies where possible
A bit more difficult to do, but do whatever you can to reduce stress - this helped her a lot
I would also recommend meditating if you can, even if you end up falling asleep as a result.

I have read somebody who claimed to have been cured of tinnitus through acupuncture. Could be worth a shot.
Plenty of leads to find if you google acupuncture tinnitus. Not sure if it would be useful in your particular situation but I guess it won't hurt either. Wish you good luck !

I found a blog by a musician a year ago or so that listed his exact steps for treating his tinnitus with a combination of dietary changes and herbal supplements (Ginger root and Ginko Biloba were two that I recall), but I also suggest reading through the following forum (https://www.tinnitustalk.com/threads/turmeric-with-curcumin-seems-to-be-helping.27603/). If I manage to find the blog I'll come back and edit this post with the link
Turmeric in general has incredible healing properties and you can help your body absorb it's benefits by boiling it in water for 10-15 minutes, so it's worth trying that and seeing if it affects you. Whenever I feel myself getting sick I prepare and put some cinnamon in it as well to mask the flavor and it tastes like chai (to me anyway).
EDIT: Found it a few minutes after posting. It is for Meniere's disease but may be relevant for tinnitus as that can be one symptom https://joebongiorno.com/menieres-disease

I have tinnitus for a few years now, and it's getting worse when i'm exposed to WiFi or using my celphone.
I have orgone pyramids in my bedroom.
And always disconnect the wifi at night.
No real cure found yet.

I've had tinnitus for many years. About 6 years ago, my right ear began "ringing" persistently and has never stopped. The ringing in my left ear goes on and off, but is usually off. Thank goodness. Prior to six years ago, both ears would go on and off. But for some reason when the ringing in my right ear went on six years ago, it never stopped. Sometimes the ringing is less noticeable. As I type this my right ear is ringing pretty loudly--seemingly so. My left is not.
I also have hearing loss. Have had it since a child. Not noticeable to me much as a child and into my 40-50s, but in the last 10-15 years it became a problem. I have been wearing hearing aids in both ears for about 5 years now. (Oticon brand.) The hearing aids alleviate the ringing in my right ear usually. I understand that for many people hearing aids will alleviate tinnitus. I got lucky there. But for some people it makes it worse. The odds are that hearing aids will help with tinnitus.
Mieneres is a very specific disease with specific symptoms and is very debilitating. Vertigo, nausea, sweats etc.... Tinnitus is not Mieneres disease. Though I understand that tinnitus is typically present with Mieneres, On the other hand, Mieneres is not generally present with tinnitus.
What I have learned to do over the years is just accept the ringing. Ignore it. Let it pass through. Do not dwell on it.
Music or other background noise can drown out the ringing a bit. The sound of a shower or other running water can hep, it is also soothing to the soul.
You may want to try an over the counter medication called meclizine. It is an antihistamine and used also for motion sickness. It seems to help me.

Yes, I have experienced tinnitus in my left ear as well. This has gone on and off for decades.
I've visited many specialists, all of whom told me there is nothing wrong with my ear.
My history with this condition is both normal and paranormal... physical and non-physical... but it's the physical part that has incapacitated me in the past... I won't get into details as they are complicated.
All advice given above is valid and good. However, there is more you can do.
Personally, after trying everything above plus some, I finally found something that works for me and it is especially indicated for tinnitus of the left ear. This is a homeopathic medicine and it is called:
CHININUM SULPHURICUM
They say to start with 30c dose but i went directly to 200c because I was being driven insane.
I took 4 pellets of 200c three times a day for the first week and it completely subsided. I now take it when i need it, which is not very often any more. Sometimes, one single dose is enough to take it away for months, or even years. I always keep it in my make up bag so that i know it's there if i should suddenly need it and I can't wait until I get home.
Good luck! Let us know how you do.

Really appreciate all your posts and have noted every suggestion. Today I bought some "clinical strength" curcumin and will look into MSM drops as I have not tried this before...nor CoQ10.
Makes sense to reduce inflammation (possibly due to viral--long standing-- infection). I am sensitive to sugar (candida) and someone who is allergic to quite a lot of foods and chemicals. I was so disappointed with my so called specialist doctor. There was no mention of any posisbility other than nerve damage. deafness. irreversible. When I mentioned I sensed fluid it was discounted. Allergies too. But realistically given this is the medical field it is to be expected--a narower view when it comes to treating health in a holistic way.
The suggestion not to "dwell" on the tinnitus is sound and yes, hearing aids are an option these days. Ironically perhaps, there is a possiblitiy hearing aids help facilitate deafness.
Daughter of Time, your challenging experience is indeed heartening. I do believe there are physical and metaphysical elements at play when certain conditions express in our body.
This statement had me nodding in complete understanding

Hi Lunaflare
There are lots of homeopathic remedies for tinnitus. It would be best to see a homeopath to find the right remedy for you

Tinnitus, or apparent tinnitus, can have a number of different causes. One is smart meters (and now smart water meters) or a microwave cell tower. Another can be that this is possibly an early sign of some form of future mental deterioration eventually, such as Alzheimers.
It's been proved that omega-7 oil often reduces or cures tinnitus. The number one source of omega-7 is macadamia oil, or macadamia nuts. (Interestingly, macadamia oil has the highest ignition temperature of all oils.)
As far as Alzheimers goes, nine months ago a senior nurse told me she'd been following progress in the beta-tests by the medical establishment of coconut oil reversing and curing early Alzheimers. At that time the tests had apparently almost been completed, and were showing that organic virgin coconut oil was indeed extremely effective at reversing early Alzheimers. So I would suggest you might like to try that as well. I use coconut oil for making chocolate (along with coconut sugar and organic cacao powder, plus usually some nuts or spices etc). It's a very healthy source of potassium and magnesium too. It's very easy to make. You just melt the oil (by putting the jar in hot water), and the chocolate is usually ready after half an hour.

I have had it since 2004. It came after 2 doses of anitbiotics for a throat infection in about 1 month. This year I looked at youtube and a specialist had a procedure where you pull you ears to open the eustachian tube and mimic swallowing as well as jutting your jaw forward. I tried it but I felt I was pulling my ears off. Lo and behold I had a tinnitus free day after 14 years. It however came back the next day with decreased intensity and came back fully in a few days. I haven't tried the procedure again because I feel I'm stretching the skin in my face, a feeling which may be entirely unwarranted.
After 14 years, I've become used to it.
Many forms of tinnitus are sinus related so research that.

I have recommended the homeopathic remedy stated above to someone who suffered from it in their right ear. It worked! It might work for you too.
Homeopathics are so inexpensive and one little bottle will last you a long time.

I have lived with tinnitus for 30 years!
The No.1 cause of my tinnitus was exposure to extremely loud music in a small venue.
It all started when I went to see Jenny Morris at a local pub in Australia.
PA system was not mixed correctly for the size of the venue - completely over-amplified!
Jenny Morris was one of those female singers who can really hit those high octave notes. When she landed on that one high note at the end of a song, it literally felt like my ear exploded. I couldn't hear for 3 days and had a constant loud ringing in my ears for many weeks.
5 years ago I made everything worse when I went to see U2 at the Olympic Stadium in Sydney. Me and my cousin positioned ourselves at ground zero, a few metres from centre stage. Totally f^&*@d my ears again! Amazing concert, but I was a fool to do what I did, knowing I already had bad tinnitus.
Tinnitus is always there.
It increases and decreases continually.
When I am under stress and/or get run down, it always gets worse.
Sometimes it get's so bad, I feel like putting an electric drill in my ear for relief.
I listen to music all the time and am careful not to listen to anything extremely loud.
Regular daily meditation has helped to tune my brain out of hearing the sine wave signal.

Yes I played in a Rock Band for years and we got a residency in a local hotel--over 300 people, three times a week.
The dance floor large but we played in an alcove like a concrete box--my hearing suffered and at times there was tinnitus even now---but its normally very quiet just background.
Im stress free through meditation.
My son has a stressful occupation and when the stress rises the tinnitus increases.

About to go to bed and I just saw this new article published on ABC News Australia.
Melbourne researchers flag potential for new hearing loss treatment using nanoparticles

Tinnitus that is caused by loud noise, damages the microscopic hairs called stereocilia.
I have often imagined that nanobots may one day be able to repair these tiny hairs.
Here is a picture of what good and damaged stereocilia look like under an electron microscope.

I've pulled up a lot of research on this to look for the commonalities behind the nerve inflammation, the result is the inflammation is coming from endotoxins.
Gram-negative bacteria release dangerous endotoxins primarily when they are killed.
This can occur when the immune system or antibiotics attack the bacteria and break down their cell walls.
When the cell walls are broken, fragments of the outer membrane are released into the body, including the endotoxins.
Tinnitus will often occur in one ear, appear to get stronger and quieter and are modulated by stress. One can mimic the tinnutis sound by tensing the jaw muscles like one is going to grimace, squinting.. example:
http://chanlo.com/images/grimace-1.jpg
Increasing pressure on the facial and jaw nerves and those coming from the teeth causes triggering, and the "sound" appears.
Notable gram negative bacteria are Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Pseudomonas, Neisseria, Haemophilus influenzae, Bordetella pertussis and Vibrio cholerae.
One member mentions having taken an antibiotic and there is a subsequent development of tinnitus.. Logical especially with the gram-negative bacteria dying off, the toxins released from the dying BACTERIA (not the antibiotic) were endotoxic. All of those bacteria can exist in the mouth, nasal, sinus, gut. When those bacteria are killed naturally by the body's immune system, or die off from a different pro-biotic species being introduced, or from antibiotics, we all run the risk of a massive dose of endotoxic poisons entering our blood stream.
So any solutions to treating tinnitus (and other nerve inflammations, chronic pain, etc.) are hopeful methods if they can address the hypersensitivity of the nerves..
What specifically is being triggered by the toxin? Where does the toxin come from in the gram-negative bacteria? From the Lipopolysaccharides (LPS) or the outer "skin" of the bacteria.
The toxin triggers in the body, sepsis, a type of inflammation, where the cells leak (and put pressure on the nerves), and create a strong pain. A lower level of "pain" from the swelling in the nerves can evoke the tinnitus symptoms.
Anything then activating a nerve sensitized by endotoxins can re-trigger the tinnitus symptoms.. Salicylate, the active component of aspirin, is known to induce tinnitus.
There was mention of using curcumin (post 12 above), which will also reduce inflammation.. But the cause comes back to the endotoxin hypersensitization. That came from the gut, from the bacterial dying off, from bacterial "flu", all of which create different levels of that form of "toxic shock".
Other than tinnitus one can have gut symptoms, such as "tender gut" a feeling of persistent malaise (a general sense of something is wrong but i can't put my finger on it), low level body pain, symptoms of bloating, periodic chills.. the list goes on and on, some folks have called it the Fibromyalgia syndrome. That fibromyalsia issue affects the muscles and soft tissue. Symptoms include chronic muscle pain, fatigue, sleep problems, and painful tender points or trigger points, which can be relieved through medications, lifestyle changes and stress management.
But getting to the cause, the gram-bacterial die-off triggers the "tumor-necrosis-factor-alpha" within the cell's gene's, which triggers the inflammation which triggers pain receptors which triggers "flooding", and so forth, a nasty cascade of symptoms which left unchecked can lead to "toxic shock".
Then getting into the nitty-gritty, to stop that inflammation cycle one needs to reach it at the target sites..
A study of using NALTREXONE, in 50 milligram dosing levels stops tinnitus by directly plugging up the opiod receptors.
Naltrexone is used by emergency personnel for instance to treat a morphine or heroin overdose. Opiod overdose can induce endotoxic shock. Naltrexone, an opioid antagonist, is usually prescribed for opioid and alcohol addiction.
One can pull up this article: https://www.dailymedicaldiscoveries.com/the-true-way-to-end-ringing-in-the-ears-forever/ to see how they researched the tinnitus and found the endotoxin link.
In seeing the nerve receptors triggered (with the inflammation reaction resultant), if one takes morphine codeine or heroin, one can exacerbate (make worse) cellular leakage. Severe cellular leakage does exist in SEPSIS (see my thread on that in the Forum, Alt Medicine).. And that severe cellular leakage will not just cause ringing in the ears, it can cause a lot of pain and eventual death from organ failure.
In other words, the nerve inflammation has to be reduced without using morphines or morphine-like substances (and remember the body produces it's own natural morphines).. so to properly "modulate" (vary the intensity level as needed intelligently) the body's endorphins is important.
Turn on pain, endorphins increase, tinnitus goes up, turn off pain by reducing inflammation and the tinnitus drops and the overall body malaise sensation corrects..

Other homeopathics which can be very useful for tinnitus are the following:
CALCAREA CARBONICA - for tinnitus in those who have a very slow metabolism
NATRUM SALICYLICUM - for tinnitus that occurs after an illness, especially something like the flu
I've tried all of the above and even though I have a rather slow metabolism, I found that Chininum Sulphuricum worked better for me than Calcarea Carbonica. Calcarea Carbonica helped but only a little and it was very slow in working. It all depends on what causes the tinnitus as it can be caused by a number of different factors. I recommend Chininum Sulphuricum because it worked for me and it worked rather fast.
I hope this helps.

I'm similar...pretty much always had it. I think it may have come from sinus/ear infections, but I really don't know.
The thing I have found which helps is Gingko. It takes about a week to start working, but it does seem to help plus is good for concentration, I think it may help the capillaries in the head which may be affected by caffeine or other pressure. I also find ear plugs comforting although they don't stop it.
Bob

Gingko most certainly - deals with inflammation - https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/ginkgo-biloba-benefits
Gingko also deals with free radicals. So if one looks at endotoxins, they most certainly create free radical oxidative stress - The pathogenetic sequence of reactions is most definitely mediated by endotoxin (LPS) which leads to the production of sepsis - the endotoxins evoke the oxygen radicals or reactive oxygen species (free radicals).
Besides gingko then CISTUS tea (cistus incanus thread) deals with free-radicals, probably the highest and safest natural free radical scavenger known.
