Solidarity about What ?
With what threat ? Will they trade boat to boat insults or hurl mince pies ?
To achieve what goal?
The only redeeming possibility ( not really ) is that our Deep State faction believe that they can act more stupidly than they want us to believe the GRU acted in the Skripal Affair .
This will presumably somehow throw Moscow off guard and make our next hate salvo even more dreadful and threatening . Another ludicrous Fake News article from The Guardian or FT perhaps .
Or , if the BBC are tired of Trump bashing , they can cobble some purported location footage to show us all how wicked Russia is and how building a bridge connecting Russia and the Crimea is truly evil and WW3 threatening .
A UK Xmas rightly features traditional pantomime . Do they really imagine a modern update should feature a once interesting nation making itself the fool of all fools ? Stupidity never garners respect . Just howls of derision .

Russia already demonstrated on US warships that it can just fly a plane over and instantly knock out all electronics. The ships might as well be floating scrap metal at that point.

I think Sophocles , and perhaps by implication yourself , should consider differentiating between Deep State intent and the American official policy which Mister Trump is tasked with handling . The warmongers were never likely to win this battle and whilst the departure of Matthis might predominantly reflect dissatisfaction with new policy for Syria and Afghanistan , I feel sure the "Ukraine situation " has also had huge behind the scenes discussion . And it will rage further no doubt .
As also reported separately , the aforesaid Mister Trump has removed every US aircraft carrier from active deployment at this point . Seems rather un-warlike ( and prevents further DEW attacks !! ) . And in the now permanent absence of traitor Mr McCain and his small bunch of lunatic followers , John Bolton cuts a very lonely figure .
I suggest the old style NeoCons are losing this battle badly -- the Globalists in fact .
