This may seem a sad request but I need someone able to help me, I have had a bad flu and I am left with the bitter after taste of chronic sinus infection. If this were I, I would be taking liposomal Vitamin C to bowel tolerance, and ample sub-lingual nano Vitamin D. See further the thread Action Alert - FDA is going after Vitamin C (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?10505-Action-Alert-FDA-is-going-after-Vitamin-C).

Ammit - I havent been sick for about 5 years and then bam, the flu hit me this past week like a ton of bricks, and im still in the midst of it (im finally able to see the keyboard). What you describe sounds like what Im still suffering from, major sinus pressure and pain...
Im a huge health advocate so I have a few tricks up my sleeve that have helped me tremendously - I will offer you some practical options, and an online healing technique.
Practical:
1) Humidifier in your bedroom - this will help with the sinus pain and pressure
2) Lots of Vitamin C - immune support / fight infection
3) Oil of Oregano - anti-viral/ anti-bacterial/ anti-fungal (I cant live without mine)
4) Neti Pot - especially now for your sinus infection - performing a neti pot irrigation (salt water through the nasal canal) will help heal your infection naturally. More info (http://www.ehow.com/how_4999619_treat-infection-symptoms-neti-pot.html)
5) Oil pulling - its been talked about on avalon (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?5647-Oil-pulling&highlight=oil+pulling)a lot recently and I feel it will be a necessary tool to help knock out your infection. More Info (http://www.oilpulling.com/)
6) Ginger tea - to help relieve the pressure in your head and knock out infections with its anti-viral properties.
7) Hot wash cloth on face for some relief
8) A hammer to knock you out with (I had to throw in some humor) :)
Online healing:
Quantum K healing is in my weekly routine. It is FREE. It is all done online, in the comfort of your own home. All you need is a computer, headphones and your divine attention. It has brought me much result, and I believe it can do the same for you. You can read more about it here. I've posted this on the old camelot forum some time ago. As you read through it, you'll see that some of the information applied to the swine flu. But over all, it's good info from my ND.

Surviving the flu
- Don't be surprise seeing nose bleeds and eye bleeds this swine flu season. So far it is characterized by the appearance of pink eye (with swollen lower eye lid)
-So what diet is good for boosting your immune system?
-eggs
-sourkraut
-liver and organ meets
-sea salt
-raw milk (unfortunately if you don't have a cow in your backyard, you're only choice is cheese that's available at goodness me or Fortinos)
Vit D is great for the flu. BUT, you cannot take it on regular basis alone as it is TOXIC! You must take it with Vit A. The ratio must be more than 100 times of vit A to vit D
But the day you know you have the flu, take only VIT D (liquid form is best for absorption).
Take 20 drops per day for 3 days. Then 2 drops per day for upto 2 weeks or till you get better.
Fish liver oil (Cod liver oil) is a great source of vit D and A. Check the bottle for good ratio. Avoid `Nortic Naturals` as the ratio isn`t there.
Fever
Hippocrates said: Give me a fever and I can cure any disease.
Avoid shivering, keep warm during fever. It's OK to take warm bath, or a bath with Epsom salts, baking soda and sea salts (ie. detox bath).
When you sweat druing fever, that's a point where your body broke your temperature naturaly.
Don't take tylenol or ASA! It is very interesting to see that my polish parents treated fever that way. It is even more interesting to note that polish physicians treat fever the same way in hospitals. I came across this in Canadian hospitals where polish born residence want to treat fever the same way as its been treated in the past yet are faced with the big pharma stepping in...
Most important fact is that fever depletes vit A.
On your first sign of fever, DON`T take Tylenol to lower your temperature or else you`ll be fighting this flu for a lot longer!
Stop eating when your temperature is greater than 37.5C(99.5F)
104-106F this is when dehydration is a big concern, so rehydrate with mineral rich fluid like "kfas chlebny".
Put on wet socks, wrung out and put over wool socks. Use also T-**** that's wet, cover with sweater and blanket.
Till fever is less than 104F
-Belladonna (take that first)
-veratrum vivide
-nux-vmica
-gelisemium
-eupaorium
Coconut oil
Use it during the flu season as it contains lauric acid. This is what stops even AIDS from replicating. Purchase in pure white form and prefferably in glass jar. You can buy it in a pill form. It`s called lauricidin.
Stomach
You need to keep stomach acids as if you don`t, you won`t be able to keep your organs at pH greater than 7, and a pH less than 7 means favorite environment for flu bug to flourish.
If you`re belching a lot, you stomach acids are low. You can increase that with:
- Sweedish Bitters (Maria`s bitters) work best on European population
- Canadian Bitters (St.Frances herb) work best on Canadian population.
You should not eat at all! Your stomach shuts down and food simply sits in the stomach undigested.
Druing the flu season, you should not eat:
-any sugar
-any wheat
-any pasteurized dairy
-caffeine
-alcohol
Eating locally and timely is the best thing you can do for your immune system. Earth and humans evolved in such a way that nature provides us timely with products we should eat in order to successfuly survie in our invironment. Eating fruit in the middle of winter is simply not the thing to do! It places such a burden on the liver...Just like we should not be eating salads in the winter.
Bowels
You must move your bowel at the onset of flu (very important). If you need help, use the following purgatives:
- castor oil half to 2 tsp twice per day for 3 days.
- coctail 42 (available through naturopaths)
Water
Drinking a lot of water is a big no no! you are flushing all the important minerals. Replace them with soups made with organicaly grown animals bones.
During the flu, you want to keep your electrolytes up. You can do that with drinking KVAS or bone broth but avoid iron rich foods during flu (so no tea in cast iron pot)
Should you be stupid enough to take the vaccine, do not take any Tylenol before and after the shot. And no vit C before and after the shot.
And to add, to bring up your spirit, I suggest a great chillaxing song;)

Surprised no one brought up Jim Humble's MMS. I immediately whip it out and start the protocol when I get flu-like symptoms. I'm over it faster than anyone else doing anything else.

Poor Ammit - White light coming and a kick up the bum to get to your GP. Sometimes we do need help from "modern" medicine. A course of antibiotics will not hurt you - just remember to take some pro-biotics after.............. speedy healing my friend.
(sinus infections are cr*ppy)

yes. MMS works wonders for sinus infections, IIRC. And personal experience.

I realise you are in the aftermath of flu here, however as a future precaution, I can highly recommend looking at colloidal silver. No this is not a sales pitch as I make my own and have done so for over 10 years now. I don't remember the last time I was ill since taking this natural and simple product. If you want full details I would check out existing threads, or I'll start one here. Please remember the FDA will not classify CS as a drug, or discussed medicinally, so we have to call it a 'supplement'.
