The Full Moon for February is the best supermoon of 2019. Traditionally, this Moon was called the Snow Moon. Find out why—plus, see more Moon facts and folklore.

There is a full moon every month...

Sometimes there are two full moons in a month (more often than you may think); hence the term "Once in a blue moon."

http://strangesounds.org/2019/02/super-full-snow-moon-feb-2019.html

Good news for sky watchers, the next full moon is set to be the biggest and brightest of the year. the “super snow moon” as it is being called, will cross the skies on Feb. 19.

Just went outside to start my truck, pretty powerful tonight and its the night before, Thanks for the heads up Whisper!

Thank you.

I think we all know, there is a full moon every month. And if there is a second one in one month it is called "blue moon". Thats right.

I am just guessing, but it seems to me like not many showed attention to the link I did post. ...

The February “Super Snow” Moon

February’s full Moon peaks on Tuesday morning, February 19 but will appear full the night before and after its peak to the casual stargazer.

For North American time zones, the full Moon crests at 11:53 a.m. AST, 10:53 a.m. EST, 9:53 a.m. CST, 8:53 a.m. MST, 7:53 a.m. PST, 6:53 a.m. AKST and 5:53 a.m. HST.

It will also be a so-called “supermoon,” which means the Moon is at its closest point in its orbit to Earth.

In fact, the February’s full Moon is the nearest, largest, and brightest full Moon of the year!

Technically, it’s the second of three supermoons to occur in 2019 (January, February, March).

....... is written in the page I did post above.

I always try to watch the full moon nights for a long time already. There is a different atmosphere on full moon nights. The power of the full moon has an effect towards the nature, the ocean tides and towards us also because - We are made mainly out of water.

For me this are magical nights with special power. And it is a joy to watch the beauty of the Full moon.

Have a great Super -Full- Moon night....... http://yoursmiles.org/tsmile/moon/t114010.gif

Beware anyone watching the moon or spending a long time out in it. Not because of becoming a "lunatic" but because the energy of it is corrupted in someway and likewise the sun is not always what it should be. Both are capable of transmitting a very negative energy. Both can feel very full of blackmagic.

Seabreeze

There is always negative energy around also. If you pay to much attention to it...you feed it.

Better to concentrade mainly on the positive magical beams which appear, to lighten up your inner spirits..... ;)

That is true. However if you can actually feel the energies of things then you can avoid that which feels uncomfortable and negative. That is not the same as focusing on negativity. It is choosing what is uplifting. The moon is giving off "magical" beams for sure but they don't light up the inner spirit. Crystals are typically placed out in the sun and moon to clear. Its been a few years since my crystals were able to be cleared that way. They are filled instead of emptied. Its a matter of really truly feeling into things and not thinking and assuming the pink and fluffy of yesteryear is still there in everything. Sadly its not.

Full supermoon at March 2019 Tonight....

The March 20-21, 2019, full moon ushers in the first full moon of spring for the Northern Hemisphere, and the first full moon of autumn for the Southern Hemisphere. This full moon is also a supermoon, particularly close to Earth. It comes less than four hours after the arrival of the March 20 equinox.

This is the closest coincidence of a full moon with the March equinox since March 2000 – 19 years ago. The full moon and March equinox won’t happen less than one day apart again for another 11 years, until March 2030.

Full Flower Moon: May 18 at 5:11 P.M.

Full Moon May 2019 Astrology

The full moon on Saturday, May the 18th 2019 sits in the star sign of Scorpio at 27 degrees. Quite a spiritually challenging full moon with the sting of the scorpion ready to strike. And the full moon residing in the Lupis (wolf) constellation adds an element of judgement and vilification. Full moon opposite Mercury gives rise to our ego and our negative selves. Often pointing the finger at others for our own problems and misfortunes. A time to balance out our emotions and to heal our past regrets. This full moon brings selfish thinking and actions towards the self and others.

If you find yourself enveloped this full moon with a tense negative feeling surrounding you. Be aware that this is the energy we are all dealing with at the moment. And it is not something you are doing directly. We are to go through this energy to learn about ourselves and others.

I was instructed to start de-worming (with herbs) five days prior to a full moon for best results.
Could the increased activities of worms and parasites inside human body affect human thoughts, behaviors, emotions and physical conditions? Most likely.

The incidence of crimes committed on full moon days was much higher than on all other days, new moon days, and seventh days after the full moon and new moon.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1444800/

The argument that crime rates go up because criminals are more active during the full moon taking advantage of the moonlight does not stand.

a study in the BMJ 17 years ago did indicate that dog bites in the UK are more common during a full moon.

As far as I know...things are building up until the moon is getting full...after full moon night...things are getting released again..and everything flows more easy.

Well, we all know we, our bodies are mainly made out of water...and the moon has a heavy effect on water......

It is also said...more children are born on full moon nights than on other nights. There are some studies about this...as far as I know..... But I dont believe much into official studies.

I prefer to ask a nurse at a hospital or talk to a police officer and hear what they have to say, about full moon nights...

My granddaugher was born in a full moon night :inlove:

Full Moon coming up...June 16/17th

This year, it shines for Father’s Day. Full Moon for Father’s Day

The Moon will look full on Sunday, June 16 and Monday, June 17 in North America since it crests in the wee hours of the 17th. It appears “opposite” the Sun (in Earth-based longitude) at 4:31 AM EDT.

Sunday, June 16 also happens to be Father’s Day. The Moon will rise in the evening shortly after sunset and be visible until just after sunrise on the 17th.

Grab some chairs and watch the sunset and the full Moon rise for a magical night!
...............

The June 17th Full Moon will sparkle brightly in Sagittarius, sitting just degrees away from the Galactic Center.

Being so close to the Galatic Center is going to amplify and upgrade the energy of this Full Moon and raise the frequency of planet Earth.

All of us, for the days surrounding the Full Moon, are going to have the opportunity to shift into a higher frequency and higher vibration. More about it here :

Conjunction of the Full Moon and Jupiter on June 16

On the night of June 15, Giant Planet will dangle just below the waxing gibbous Moon.

Then on Sunday, June 16—Father’s Day—bright Jupiter and the Moon meet. What a pair. http://yoursmiles.org/tsmile/moon/t114009.gif

Look for the Giant Planet floating just above the Full Strawberry Moon. The Moon and Jupiter will shine bright all night long!

(The Moon will look full on June 16 and June 17 in North America; technically, it crests in the very early hours of the 17th.)

Look for the Moon and king planet Jupiter to light up the nighttime from dusk until dawn!

Conjunction of Mercury and Mars on June 18

Then, on the next night, turn your attention back to the western evening sky.

Watch for a fabulous conjunction between orange Mercury and Mars on June 18.

The two will be extremely close together in the evening sky on the 18th. But also they’ll look tight and nice between the 17 and 19.

Full Moons are always a point of release, so something often needs to be let go of when we reach this time in the month. We may be feeling this even more so in June, as this is the last Full Moon before Eclipse Season begins.

The July Eclipse Season has a potency to it, which means that this June Full Moon is a chance for us to prepare ourselves for what’s to come. Pay attention to any signs, clues, or triggers that are presented at this time, as they may come back around to be resolved and cleared once and for all in July.

The summer skies will light up on July 16, 2019 in Capricorn. This is going to be the busiest Full Moon of the year as we’re going to be experiencing a lunar eclipse along with other planetary surprises.......

The full moon in July represents what many natives call “Thunder Moon”, since July is a time of thunderstorms, rains and downpours appear. Work with this powerful full Moon energy. Visualize the 'Quickening' like in the movie 'The Highlander' as you use this Thunder Moon to charge and revitalize your energy.

I love the Native American names for the moon. I used to keep a list of them because they were so poetic.

I remember reading that December was "The Moon of the Popping Trees" due to the sound of branches snapping from ice and snow.

Mercury retrograde, from much observation and experience is when all hell tends to break loose.

A Rare 'Black Supermoon' Is Rising On July 31st.
This “Black Supermoon” is exclusive to the Americas since the New Moon actually occurs on August 1 in most of the rest of the world.

The Black Moon refers to the second New Moon within a month. The New Moon on July 31st is also called a Black Supermoon
because it will be near its closest point to Earth.

The Full Moon in Aquarius marks the beginning of a new cycle.

This phase of the Moon occurs at 22 degrees and 24 minutes of Aquarius, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 18 to 26 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) most significantly.

I dont know who`s silly idea it was to write the date into calenders, when the Moon is the fullest clock time wise and not the date when there is the full moon night?

I dont like this style and finde it vey irritating. Now we have calenders old style and calenders new style?

And if you are used to how it was all this years, you will miss the full moon because you think it is on the night Sept. 14-2019......

There are just to many people who think they have to change something which was fine already all those years. Main thing the change something...???? uuhh

https://blankcalendarpages.com/printable_calendar/moon1/September-2019-calendar-moon1.jpg

Again...dont get mixed up...Full Moon night is on Sept. 13-2019.......the time the Moon reaches the fullest point is in the morning the next day..up to where exactly you are located....

I hope they will not change all the calenders now, because then you have to always look up at what time exactly the moon is the fullest to get the right date for which night is a full moon night.....:frusty: so if the moon would be at the fullest before midnight, it is this day then...otherwise the next day.....

For me it is kind of important to look into a calender and see which is the full moon night......and it is still night even if it is after midnight............

Full Cold Moon December 2019

December 11/12 - Full Moon. The Moon will be located on the opposite side of the Earth as the Sun and its face will be will be fully illuminated. This full moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Full Cold Moon because this is the time of year when the cold winter air settles in and the nights become long and dark. This moon has also been known as the Full Long Nights Moon and the Moon Before Yule.

December 13, 14 - Geminids Meteor Shower. The Geminids is the king of the meteor showers. It is considered by many to be the best shower in the heavens, producing up to 120 multicolored meteors per hour at its peak. It is produced by debris left behind by an asteroid known as 3200 Phaethon, which was discovered in 1982. The shower runs annually from December 7-17. It peaks this year on the night of the 13th and morning of the 14th. Unfortunately the nearly full moon will block out many of the meteors this year, but the Geminids are so bright and numerous that it could still be a good show. Best viewing will be from a dark location after midnight. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Gemini, but can appear anywhere in the sky.

December 22 - December Solstice. The December solstice occurs at 04:19 UTC. The South Pole of the earth will be tilted toward the Sun, which will have reached its southernmost position in the sky and will be directly over the Tropic of Capricorn at 23.44 degrees south latitude. This is the first day of winter (winter solstice) in the Northern Hemisphere and the first day of summer (summer solstice) in the Southern Hemisphere.

December 21, 22 - Ursids Meteor Shower. The Ursids is a minor meteor shower producing about 5-10 meteors per hour. It is produced by dust grains left behind by comet Tuttle, which was first discovered in 1790. The shower runs annually from December 17 - 25. It peaks this year on the the night of the 21st and morning of the 22nd. The waning crescent moon should not interfere too much this year. Skies should still be dark enough for what could be a good show. Best viewing will be just after midnight from a dark location far away from city lights. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Ursa Minor, but can appear anywhere in the sky.

December 26 - New Moon. The Moon will located on the same side of the Earth as the Sun and will not be visible in the night sky. This phase occurs at 05:15 UTC. This is the best time of the month to observe faint objects such as galaxies and star clusters because there is no moonlight to interfere.

December 26 - Annular Solar Eclipse. An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon is too far away from the Earth to completely cover the Sun. This results in a ring of light around the darkened Moon. The Sun's corona is not visible during an annular eclipse. The path of of the eclipse will begin in Saudi Arabia and move east through southern India, northern Sri Lanka, parts of the Indian Ocean, and Indonesia before ending in the Pacific Ocean. A partial eclipse will be visible throughout most of Asia and northern Australia.

Full Moon December 11/12, 2019 – Love Crisis

The full moon on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at 19° Gemini is the last moon phase before the December 26 solar eclipse. So it is time to finalize, complete and consolidate, and get ready to draw a line under the last six months.

https://duckduckgo.com/?q=behaviour+of+animals+during+full+moons&atb=v197-3gx&ia=web I thought this was members so edited it 8). Anyhow are we to believe that Man/Womankind are not susceptible to behavioral changes during a full Moon. I think we do feel it but for some reason most don't notice. Spoken to loads of people who've noticed it but yet not common knowledge.

I think it has a lot to do with how sensitive a person is ....everybody is different..... The full moon has a heavy effect on nature and the ocean tides..... We are mainly made out of water ...so it must have a effect on us also...good or bad.....

It is said...energies get build up towards a full moon coming up...highest point at full moon night. Then after the full moon night everything calms down again. This is what I did hear and I can feel it myself.

I always have some extra energy around full moon nights and often I just can not sleep. If I can not sleep I enjoy it to watch the sky, the stars and the full moon ;)

I guess it has a more heavy effect on everybody who is strong connected to nature or who has a high sensitive personality . It is said ....there is only about 20% of the world population high sensitive....:flower:

you can read on this here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sensory_processing_sensitivity

Then I did look around to find some more studies on this subject and found something I think is interesting and a proof it certainly has a heavy effect on some people:

First Supermoon of the Year

This full Moon will also be the first of three supermoons in 2020—the other two occurring in April and May. “Supermoon” is the popular nickname given to a full Moon that coincides with perigee, which is the point in the Moon’s orbit of Earth where it’s closest to our planet.

Full Moon for April 2020 ---April 7

April’s full Moon rises on the night of Tuesday, April 7. Traditionally called the Pink Moon, this full Moon will also be a spectacular supermoon! Here’s everything you should know about the Moon this month, including facts, folklore, and Moon phase dates.
When to See the Full Moon in April 2020

Venture outside on the night of Tuesday, April 7, to catch a glimpse of April’s full Pink Moon. This full Moon—which is a supermoon, the first full Moon of spring, and the Paschal Full Moon—will be visible after sunset and reach peak illumination at 10:35 P.M. EDT.

For the best view of this lovely spring Moon, find an open area and watch as the Moon rises just above the horizon, at which point it will appear its biggest and take on a golden hue! (Find local Moon rise and set times here.)
Super Pink Moon: The Biggest and Brightest Supermoon of the Year

(Note: Before you get your hopes up, this “Super Pink Moon” won’t actually look “super pink”—or any hue of pink, really. The Moon will be its usual golden color near the horizon and fade to a bright white as it glides overhead. Learn why it’s called the Pink Moon below!)

We’re currently in the midst of a series of supermoons, with the first having occurred on March 9 and the last occurring on May 7. That makes April’s full Moon the second supermoon in this series, but certainly not the one to miss.

Thanks to the fact that April’s full Moon will be closer to Earth than either other supermoon in the series, it will be the biggest and brightest full Moon of 2020!

Full moon August 2020 - 2. to 3. of August

Another month, another full moon — but August 3's Full Sturgeon Moon is about to bring us some intense energy. In the sign of altruistic Aquarius, this moon, according to astrologer Lisa Stardust, is asking us to seek justice and embrace change. "Aquarius is the humanitarian sign of the zodiac and when it's fully lit up by the glow of the Moon, we will all seek ventures that call for us to be more in sync with the modern rhythms of society and to revel from the past and conservative beliefs," she tells Refinery29.

I hope this isn't too off topic as it is "full moon related". I would be interested to hear an interpretation of a dream i had last night:

It was really early in the morning I was driving to work on a bright sunny day. At a red light I looked to my right and saw the moon (only the left side was visible) right above the mountain top (the city where I live is surrounded by gorgeous mountains and the scenery in the dream was a realistic portrayal of my real life commute to work) I then told a middle age woman riding a bike to my right next to my car to take look at this beautiful scene. She nodded and also found the scene beautiful. Immediately after that I found myself transported in a new scene, I’m in the middle of an undefined public gathering and all the people present are admiring the full moon, it is huge and surrounded by massive bright stars between two mountain peaks. Again we are all in awe when suddenly the day turns into night and a purple / crimson aurora borealis like mist covers the moon and the stars, the whole scene is now a beautiful purple / crimson color. At this point I look up to the sky above my head and notice an incredible number of huge yellow stars and in the dream I tell myself “Of course that's what the sky really looks like without all the clouds.”

I woke up fresh and the dream left me with an overall pleasant feeling but i knew it had a deep meaning attached to it. Thanks in advance for you help.

Heads up harvest moon...

Full Harvest Moon

Published 26th September 2020

According to folklore, the Harvest Moon is the Full Moon that falls closest to the autumnal equinox, the beginning of northern autumn. In the days before light bulbs, farmers relied on moonlight to help them harvest their crops. Many crops ripen all at once in late summer and early autumn, so farmers found themselves extremely busy at this time of the year. They have to work after sundown. Moonlight became an essential part of farming and thus, the Harvest Moon was born.

There's more to the Harvest Moon, however, than just an old-fashioned name. It realy is special. Throughout the year the Moon rises, on average, about 50 minutes later each day. But near the Equinox, this difference shrinks to only 30 minutes.

The reason is, at the beginning of autumn the Moon's orbital path makes a narrow angle with the evening horizon. For several nights in a row around the time of the Harvest Moon, the Moon rises almost at sunset.

And you know what happens when the Moon rises at sunset? Low-hanging Moons are reddened by clouds and dust. Not only that, they are swollen to outlandish size by the Moon illusion, a well known but still mysterious trick of they eye, that makes low-hanging Moons seem much larger than they really are.

When you add these effects together the Harvest Moon often looks like a great pumpkin. The experience is repeated for several nights in a row around the Equinox. A great pumpkin-colored Moon rising in the east is a nice way to end the day.

At sundown on October 1-2, go outside, face east and enjoy the Harvest Moon.

The moon can appear in different colors depending on atmospheric conditions and astronomical events. In this video, we talk about the Moon looking blue, orange, and red. The Moon can look blue if there is a lot of dust or smoke particles in the atmosphere. When the Moon is near the horizon, it can appear to have an orangish color. During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon can look a dark reddish color.

Fun Facts:
A Full Moon on Halloween is always a Blue Moon
A Blue Moon can never happen in February
This Blue Moon on Halloween will be near Apogee, making the Moon look 10% dimmer than a typical Full Moon.

Full Moon / Lunar Eclipse November 30

We entered the Eclipse perimeter starting with the November 30 Eclipse then the December 14 Eclipse. The November 30 eclipse is supported by the opposition of Venus semi-sextile Sun 8 ° Sagittarius and Uranus semi-sextile Moon 8 ° Gemini. Despite the position of Neptune so much decried by astrologers at the midpoint of the node axis, Neptune is in the semi-sextile of Mars, an influence that will last for a few weeks.

NOVEMBER - FULL Moon Night 11-29/30

The next full Moon is the Cold Moon, Frost Moon, Winter Moon, Beaver Moon, Oak Moon, Moon Before Yule, Child Moon, Kartik Purnima, Karthika Deepam and Tazaungdaing Festival Moon, and Ill Poya.

The next full Moon will be early on Monday morning, November 30, 2020, appearing opposite the Sun (in Earth-based longitude) at 4:30 AM EST. The Moon will appear full for about three days around this time, from Saturday night through Tuesday morning. The Moon will be close enough to opposite the Sun that it will pass through the partial shadow of the Earth, with 83 percent of the Moon in the partial shadow at 4:44 AM, the peak of the eclipse. The dimming of the Moon during this eclipse will probably not be noticeable without instrumentation, but for spacecraft at the Moon such as the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) the reduction in solar power will be noticeable.

In the 1930's the Maine Farmer's Almanac first published "Indian" names for the yearly full Moons tied to the European months. I think it more likely these Native American names were loosely tied to the seasons (especially if they were in use before contact with Europeans). Because most of the Earth had two full Moons in October 2020 (the newer definition of a Blue Moon), the Moon names by season and names by month will be offset until the summer of 2021, which will have four full Moons (and have a Blue Moon by the older definition). Going by season, as the last full Moon of the autumn the Algonquin tribes of what is now the northern and eastern United States called this Moon the Cold Moon, due to the long, cold nights. Other names were the Frost Moon or the Winter Moon, for the frosts as winter nears. Going by month, this would be the Beaver Moon and the full Moon after next would be the Cold Moon.

As the full Moon before the winter solstice, an old European name for this Moon is the Oak Moon, a name that some believe ties back to ancient druid traditions of harvesting mistletoe from oak trees first recorded by the Roman historian Pliny the Elder in the 1st century CE. The term "druid" may derive from the Proto-Indo-European roots for "oak" and "to see," suggesting the term means "oak knower" or "oak seer." Europeans also called this the Moon before Yule, a 3-day winter solstice festival. In the 10th Century King Haakon I associated Yule with Christmas as part of the Christianization of Norway, and this association spread throughout Europe. Some sources use these names for the full Moon in December, even if it occurs after Yule and the winter solstice.

When she saw the rising full Moon, she said: "You know what this Moon is called? It's called a Child Moon. Because the Moon rises at a time that the children, they can see it, because they're not in bed, and they might even be outside like we are right now."

A year ago, 7-year-old Astrid Hattenbach was walking home from school with her father Henry Throop (a friend and former coworker at NASA Headquarters). When she saw the rising full Moon, she said: "You know what this Moon is called? It's called a Child Moon. Because the Moon rises at a time that the children, they can see it, because they're not in bed, and they might even be outside like we are right now." Henry told me about this and I thought it a perfect name. For the Northern Hemisphere the earliest sunsets of the year are in early December. With this full Moon on November 30, the evening before, Sunday, November 29, 2020, is the earliest sunset of the year with a full Moon in the sky, making this the Child Moon!

This full Moon is Kartik Purnima, celebrated by Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs (each for different reasons). Karthika Deepam, also known as Karthikai Vilakkidu or Thrikarthika, is a festival of lights that is observed by Hindus of Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka, and Kerala. This festival is celebrated when the nearly full Moon lines up with the Pleiades constellation (Krittika or Karttikai), and will be celebrated this year on November 29, 2020. In Myanmar the festival of lights associated with this full Moon is the Tazaungdaing Festival, a festival that predates the introduction of Buddhism. Every full Moon (Poya) is a holiday in Sri Lanka. This is the Ill (or Il) Poya, commemorating the Buddha's ordination of sixty disciples as the first missionaries.

In lunisolar calendars the months change with the new Moon and full Moons fall in the middle of the lunar month. This full Moon is the middle of the tenth month of the Chinese calendar and Kislev in the Hebrew calendar. Hanukkah begins towards the end of Kislev and ends early in the next month, Tevet. In the Islamic calendar the months start with the first sighting of the waxing crescent Moon after the New Moon. This full Moon is near the middle of Rabi' al-Thani, the fourth month of the Islamic year.

As usual, the wearing of suitably celebratory celestial attire is encouraged in honor of the full Moon. Stay warm, but take advantage of these early nightfalls to get out, look up, and share the wonders of the sky!
Watch the Skies

As for other celestial events between now and the full Moon after next:

As autumn ends and winter begins, the daily periods of sunlight reach their shortest and then begin to lengthen again. The day of the northern hemisphere winter solstice is sometimes called the "shortest day of the year" because it has the shortest period of daylight. It is actually nearly the longest solar day of the year (as measured for example from noon to noon on a sundial). The length of a solar day varies throughout the year (if you're interested in why, I can send a separate document upon request). Around the solstices the solar days are slightly longer than the 24 hour average that our clocks use. Because of this, the earliest sunsets of the year occur before the winter solstice and the latest sunrises of the year (ignoring Daylight Savings Time) occur after the solstice.

For the Washington, DC area (using the location of NASA Headquarters), on the day of the full Moon (Monday, November 30, 2020), morning twilight will begin at 6:05 AM EST, sunrise will be at 7:07 AM, solar noon will be at 11:56:59 AM when the Sun will reach its maximum altitude of 29.35 degrees, sunset will be at 4:47 PM, and evening twilight will end at 5:49 PM.

Most of us have been observing the moon for decades and it has has not
changed much if at all. There is no real color, just grey and shadow and some

But we may have been blinded to changes that we did not know about.

In my grandfather's time workers in mental hospitals observed major changes
in the behavior of patients during the full moon.
The name lunatic had something to do with that behavior.

The Cosmic and Spiritual Significance of December 21, 2020

There is so much to unpack about this ultra magical date! I am sure that as we move closer to the time (I am writing this on October 6, 2020) that I will have more insights that come through.

Let’s first talk about what is almost always true for December 21st of any year- it is the Solstice.

The Solstice is a time where the veil between dimensions is thin. It is also a time where we are more open and connected with the energies of the Earth.
We are able to feel with greater ease that we are not just beings on this Earth, but beings of the Earth.

The Solstice is also the start of a new season depending on where in the world you live, and a new season always brings a transition of energy.

Saturnalia was a pagan festival celebrated on the December Solstice, and was meant to be reminiscent of the Golden Age- a time where there was peace on Earth and Saturn was our Sun.

The December Solstice was chosen for this day as it was said to signify a “return to the light.”

You can read more on the festival of Saturnalia and why Saturn was considered the Sun during the Golden Age here.

In 2020, December 21st, stands out as being a potent day, not just because of the Solstice, but also due to a very rare alignment taking place this year known as the Great Conjunction.

Furthermore, there is also a Total Solar Eclipse just before this on December 14, which also adds to the energy.

The Solar Eclipse opens a portal to a brand new beginning and the Great Conjunction a few days later will amplify this portal energy.

The Great Conjunction 2020

The Great conjunction occurs every twenty years or so, and is when both Jupiter and Saturn align at the same degree of the zodiac.

The Great Conjunction represents a changing of an era, and a time where we shift our way of viewing the world.

As our world view changes, so too does society and the way we choose to approach things.

While the Great Conjunction happens every couple of decades, the 2020 alignment opens the door to an even bigger cycle.

For the last 200 years, Jupiter and Saturn have been aligning only in earth signs, but this year, on December 21st, 2020, Jupiter and Saturn will align in the air sign of Aquarius.
