Documents show that the military has investigated a lot of fringe science.

Secretly Funded Research

We already knew that the U.S. Department of Defense had secretly funded research on unidentified flying objects — yes, UFOs — thanks to 2017 reporting by the New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/16/us/politics/pentagon-program-ufo-harry-reid.html) and the Washington Post (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/head-of-pentagons-secret-ufo-office-sought-to-make-evidence-public/2017/12/16/90bcb7cc-e2b2-11e7-8679-a9728984779c_story.html?utm_term=.682881c4efcb).
Now, new documents (https://fas.org/irp/dia/aatip-list.pdf) released by the Defense Intelligence Agency reveal that the program also studied a laundry list of topics that sound like plot devices from “The X-Files,” including UFOs, “warp drive,” “extra dimensions,” and “traversable wormholes.”

Dark Money

The newly released documents come thanks to Steven Aftergood, the director of an organization called the Federation of American Scientists’ Project on Government Secrecy. He obtained the files via a Freedom of Information Act request.
“I think anyone who looks at these titles will scratch their heads and wonder what on earth the Defense Intelligence Agency was thinking,” Aftergood told technology site Motherboard (https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/3kg8v5/the-governments-secret-ufo-program-funded-research-on-wormholes-and-extra-dimensions). “These are the kinds of topics you pursue when you have more money than you know what to do with.”

Hazy Details

Some of the projects described in the document cache contain almost no details, but mainstream research projects corroborate others.
A German scientist whose work on theoretical cloaking technologies was cited by the journal Nature (https://www.nature.com/news/2006/060522/full/news060522-18.html) led a project on “invisibility cloaking,” Motherboard pointed out. Richard Obousy, a theoretical physicist whom Futurism has reported on previously (https://futurism.com/long-take-travel-nearest-star), headed a project on “warp drives” and “the manipulation of extra dimensions.”

But the full scope of the Defense Department’s research into fringe technologies won’t be clear until more documentation becomes publicly available (https://futurism.com/former-us-senator-harry-reid-congress-listen-ufo-reports).

The Government’s Secret UFO Program Funded Research on Wormholes and Extra Dimensions

Documents released by the Department of Defense reveal some of what its infamous Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program was working on.

The Department of Defense funded research on wormholes, invisibility cloaking, and “the manipulation of extra dimensions” under its shadowy Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, first described in 2017 by the New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/16/us/politics/pentagon-program-ufo-harry-reid.html) and the Washington Post (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/head-of-pentagons-secret-ufo-office-sought-to-make-evidence-public/2017/12/16/90bcb7cc-e2b2-11e7-8679-a9728984779c_story.html?utm_term=.9d7e40e5cfef).

On Wednesday, the Defense Intelligence Agency released a list of 38 research titles (https://fas.org/irp/dia/aatip-list.pdf) pursued by the program in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by Steven Aftergood, director of the Federation of American Scientists’ Project on Government Secrecy.

The list provides one of the best looks at the Pentagon’s covert UFO operation or study of “anomalous aerospace threats (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/head-of-pentagons-secret-ufo-office-sought-to-make-evidence-public/2017/12/16/90bcb7cc-e2b2-11e7-8679-a9728984779c_story.html?utm_term=.9d7e40e5cfef).” According to Aftergood’s FOIA request, the document marked “For Official Use Only” was sent to Congress on January 2018.

One such research topic, “Traversable Wormholes, Stargates, and Negative Energy,” was led by Eric W. Davis of EarthTech International Inc, which describes itself (http://earthtech.org/about/) as a facility “exploring the forefront reaches of science and engineering,” with an interest in theories of spacetime, studies of the quantum vacuum, and the search for extraterrestrial intelligence.

Another project called “Invisibility Cloaking” was helmed by German scientist Ulf Leonhardt, a professor at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. Leonhardt’s research (https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/~www_pa/news/old_news/archive/ulf.htm) pertains to theoretical quantum optics, and in 2006 his work on theoretically creating “an invisible ‘hole’ in space, inside which objects can be hidden” was cited (https://www.nature.com/news/2006/060522/full/news060522-18.html) by Nature.

Yet another title, “Warp Drive, Dark Energy, and the Manipulation of Extra Dimensions,” was attributed to theoretical physicist Richard Obousy, director of the nonprofit Icarus Interstellar, which claims to be (http://www.icarusinterstellar.org/team/dr-richard-obousy) “researching technologies that will enable breakthroughs in interstellar travel.” Obousy was credited by Gizmodo (https://gizmodo.com/5292471/this-is-how-a-warp-drive-spaceship-looks) in 2009 for creating “a scientifically accurate warpship design” that could hypothetically be propelled through space by manipulating dark energy.

“The list of research papers tells us something more than previous reporting did about this odd program,” Aftergood told Motherboard in an email. “Now we have a better idea of exactly what the Defense Intelligence Agency was up to, and what it produced.”

Other items are tantalizingly vague since we only have one-line descriptions of their scope. One that states “Metallic Glasses” could refer to (https://engineering.jhu.edu/magazine/2003/09/raising-bar-bulk-metallic-glass/#.XED2pc9KjOQ) an experimental type of flexible metallic alloy, while the topic “Biomaterials” could mirror NASA-funded research (https://www.nasa.gov/directorates/esmd/aboutesmd/acquisitions/OBPR-01-126.html) into biotechnology in low-gravity environments.

The Pentagon document however, while full of speculative ideas that seem better suited for science fiction, suggests the program was more than just chasing UFOs.
The Department of Defense had not publicly acknowledged the program’s existence until it was revealed by media reports. It was was “largely funded (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/16/us/politics/pentagon-program-ufo-harry-reid.html) at the request of Harry Reid,” then Senate majority leader, to the tune of $22 million between 2007 and 2012.

We don't know how the program selected which projects to fund.
“I think anyone who looks at these titles will scratch their heads and wonder what on earth the Defense Intelligence Agency was thinking,” Aftergood said. “These are the kinds of topics you pursue when you have more money than you know what to do with.”

According to the New York Times, much of its budget went to the Nevada-based Bigelow Aerospace, a company belonging to Reid’s longtime friend and UFO hunter, Robert Bigelow—also a protagonist of the documentary Hunt for the Skinwalker (https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/59abbx/hunt-for-the-skinwalker-is-the-first-video-released-from-inside-ufo-wolf-haunted-ranch-robert-bigelow) about the billionaire entrepreneur’s famed extraterrestrial hotbed, Skinwalker Ranch.
The first hints about the program’s existence can be credited to Luis Elizondo, a military intelligence official who managed the operation for seven years. When Elizondo resigned, he requested (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/head-of-pentagons-secret-ufo-office-sought-to-make-evidence-public/2017/12/16/90bcb7cc-e2b2-11e7-8679-a9728984779c_story.html?utm_term=.b9fda91d6924) that footage of UFO encounters with fighter jets be made public—videos that were subsequently published by the New York Times and the Washington Post. At the time, Reid sought to tighten security around the program’s discoveries.

The agency claims the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program shut down due to a lack of funding, though Elizondo said (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/16/us/politics/pentagon-program-ufo-harry-reid.html) it continued to investigate UFO sightings.

In a 2009 Pentagon briefing summary, the program’s then-director stated (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/16/us/politics/pentagon-program-ufo-harry-reid.html) that “what was considered science fiction is now science fact.”

“I loved science fiction when I was younger,” Aftergood said. “Today I love good government. So I was not especially amused.”

More than just UFOs: Pentagon’s secret program researched wormholes, invisibility & death-rays

Published time: 23 Jan, 2019 04:51 Edited time: 23 Jan, 2019 08:19

A Pentagon program focusing on “anomalous aerospace threats” – UFOs – was also researching interdimensional travel, wormholes, and mind-controlled spaceships, according to government documents obtained by researchers.

“Invisibility Cloaking” and “Cognitive Limits on Simultaneous Control of Multiple Unmanned Spacecraft” (because who doesn’t want to know how many drone spaceships one person can control with his mind?) are just two projects that may have been funded by the Defense Department’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), according to a tantalizing list released (https://fas.org/irp/dia/aatip-list.pdf) this month by the Defense Intelligence Agency in response to a Freedom of Information Act request by Steven Aftergood of the Federation of American Scientists’ Project on Government Secrecy.

Projects like “Warp Drive, Dark Energy, and the Manipulation of Extra Dimensions” and “Concepts for Extracting Energy from the Quantum Vacuum” are listed (https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/3kg8v5/the-governments-secret-ufo-program-funded-research-on-wormholes-and-extra-dimensions) with their authors and a variety of affiliated institutions, from the University of Texas at Austin to Lockheed Martin. Theoretical physicist Richard Obousy is credited with the “Warp Drive” proposal, which appears to have been at least partially funded – his Icarus Interstellar nonprofit was praised in 2009 for “creating a scientifically accurate warpship design” that could (theoretically) manipulate dark energy to propel itself through space.

AATIP was the Pentagon’s “UFO unit” whose existence was not publicly acknowledged (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/16/us/politics/pentagon-program-ufo-harry-reid.html) until 2017, when the military intelligence official who ran it, Luis Elizondo, retired. Dedicated to the study of so-called “anomalous aerospace threats,” the program was overseen by former Senate majority leader Harry Reid, who funneled $22 million its way from 2007 to 2012. The New York Times claims most of that cash went to Reid’s friend, UFO hunter Robert Bigelow, through his company Bigelow Aerospace, but it’s impossible to tell how much (if any) capital was behind “Traversable Wormholes, Stargates, and Negative Energy.”

Elizondo says government funding for AATIP dried up in 2012, but that “the effort continued” within other government departments.

While most of the titles on the DIA’s list are marked “unclassified,” one paper – “State of the Art and Evolution of High Energy Laser Weapons” by one J. Albertine of Directed Technologies – is listed as “secret.”

Also on rt.com NASA scientist says we need to reopen the book on whether aliens visited Earth (https://www.rt.com/usa/445569-nasa-scientist-aliens-visited-earth/)Other projects appear less than thrilling – tucked in among these titles is the curiously pedestrian “Maverick Inventor Versus Corporate Inventor.”
“I think anyone who looks at these titles will scratch their heads and wonder what on earth the Defense Intelligence Agency was thinking,” Aftergood said. “These are the kinds of topics you pursue when you have more money than you know what to do with.”

You know, John, that these FOI requests will only ever show very, very old news. We know, for instance, as documented by Dark Journalist, that ATTIP was a CIA disinfo campaign meant to align with an 'enemy from outerspace' yarn to be hatched if Hillary Clinton became the POTUS.

To put all of this black project tech talk into perspective, in the 1950s Area 51 was working on antigravity craft, as documented in YouTube Sirius interviews with Bill Uhouse, who was working on an antigravity flight simulator and consulted with Gray aliens about it, in the 1950s.

All this talk about cloaking tech, the black ops have been using it for decades. On a similar theme haulograms have been in use as well, as evidenced by the jet haulograms that cloaked the cruise missiles on 9/11 that hit the twin towers and the pentagon. I am sure that the only reason that NASA is proceeding with a spacestation around the moon is because they have perfected a cloaking mechanism to cover the pre-existing structures that are on the far side, as evidenced by Sgt. Wolfe's testimony, again on YouTube, during the 2001 disclosure press conference at the Washington press club.

Hi tech black project engineering, the public is so far behind on this topic. Even the TR-3B, that can get to the moon in 20 minutes and Mars in a few hours, is likely an antique. These FOI hi tech 'leaks' just tell us what was news fifty+ years ago.

"only" ?

There are many examples of De-classified stuff, like 2007 to 2012 (https://mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/01/foia-request-shows-pentagon-ufo-program-researched-stargates-antigravity-and-warp-drives/) that is NOT "super old"

How much of theblackvault.com (https://www.theblackvault.com) have you studied?

Hi John, I specifically meant the FOI 'leaks' displayed in the OP. The black vault, with a brief glance at the Ufo section, appears to be more of witness accounts, rather than FOI. Thanks for the link.
