View Full Version : YouTube filter no longer works for me...how about you?

I usually use filter on you tube in order find the latest when I do a search on youtube such as last 24 hours, week or month etc. Now the filter gives me stuff from 3 years ago in some instances when I ask for only this week only. For example type in corey goode and filter your search for only today and I get stuff from 2 years ago.
Anyone else have this problem?

I noticed the same thing yesterday. I searched for some links addressing the issue, but there are none.

What really surprises me is that not many of the people I'm subscribed to are NOT complaining about it.
Are they worried that they will get a strike from youtube for just mentioning it?
Or is youtube removing those complaints? I doubt it. But it's all very odd.

Most of them probably don’t know about it. This is a new, independent, algorithm based process that doesn’t require complaints.
YouTube has stopped recommending and automatically suggesting conspiracy theory content, as well as videos that they deem as making “false or misleading” health claims about miracle cures. This specifically pertained to 9/11 and flat earth theories. The content is still there, they assure us.
Check this video from YouTube’s own employees discussing it. They are just getting started.

I haven’t gotten a strike for mentioning it in a video, but I was super careful with my phrasing so as to not violate community guidelines.
Here's evidence of what is happening. This is from my analytics dashboard on the video where I mention the issue and link to YouTube's blogpost. Notice the huge bump as soon as I posted the video. That's from subscribers getting a notification and clicking on it.

The next image is a red line that depicts how often youtube's algorithm is automatically promoting the video to non-subscribers. This is the reason why sharing videos is so important.

The situation with the YouTube disabled filter appears to be intentional, but you can circumvent the problem by using the search box in your browser and utilize its filter. It works for me, and I use Edge. (Yes, I really do.)

You could use a different approach as follows: type the search term followed with the word site:https://www.youtube.com
in the address bar and then select under tools the time, for example last month.
Here a sample with the search term antigrav

Yes, there are other ways to accomplish the task.
Just for the heck of it... Here is the official reason given for messing with the functionality of the filter, as it is stated on reddit (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?106375-YouTube-filter-no-longer-works-for-me...how-about-you&): Just confirming that YouTube is aware the search/sorting functions aren't working as expected – this is temporary and part of our efforts to better respond, review and remove graphic, violative content from YouTube. Thanks for your patience while we work through this.
The comments that the announcement drew are worth to peruse. ;)

From Jim Stone:
SUSPICIOUS: After Christchurch event, Youtube removed dated searches (http://82.221.129.208/.wo4.html)
This is widespread, not just me. If you can't do a dated search anything alt might as well be dead.

Hi,
since youtube has a new owner...a lot does change here. Someone told me it is running by some new crew for a while already. They mixed up everything by now.
If you do a search, all kind stuff pops up also, which has nothing to do with what you did type in at the first place. At least this happens to me all the time now. I type in a name and all kind other names appear also, for example.
I believe this is done on purpose. Most search engines are like this too now. With every search you do...they play in stuff, they want to appear there. It is another try of manipulation and influence.
Sometimes even 2 commercial videos block the video you want to watch. Or even right in between the video you watch, they posted some commercial stuffs now.
Maybe soon they come up with....watch commercial free for only ???$$$$$/month....
And you could check for subtitles in the youtube setting field before, sometimes it had translations in other languages there. This field totally vanished and does not exist anymore.
I find it just disgusting and sad how things which been running fine and worked good and been helpful are getting ruined on purpose only mainly out of profit reasons.......
or has this something to do with AI controlling the net more and more? I can not tell...all I know is - it sure looks like we are going backwards into the stone ages...instead of forwards into a better future.....:frusty:

The timing of this glitch is very suspect. It's almost like [They] are saying, "kiss our A$$," we'll make it harder for you to stay current with the news you want to see. Payback for calling them FAKE news..

As [they] say, timing is everything.
It's almost like "The glitches are talking to us"
