Long home to science fiction, traveling faster than the speed of light is quite commonplace as heroes and villains alike zip around their galaxy in an effort to engage each other.  It has become so popular, in fact, that you would be hard pressed to find anyone on Earth that didn't know about the concept.  Now it seems that scientists could have accidentally brought the notion of faster than light travel out of the realm of science fiction and into real science.

The idea of traveling to other planets at speeds much faster than light has seemed impossible for a long time.  If only it were possible, planet to planet exploration would be almost instantaneous and open the galaxy up for man to explore.

However, much of the scientific community has long believed that traveling at speeds faster than light is physically impossible, no matter the material, and accelerating something to those types of speeds simply can't happen.

A team of researchers at NASA unintentionally accelerated particles to faster than light speeds using the EmDrive resonance chamber.  If their findings turn out to be accurate, the team may have just discovered faster than light travel.

The EmDrive is a proposed method of interstellar propulsion and could even end up being the engine that propels starships through the galaxy in the future.  There are many advantages to using this engine.  It's electrically powered, it doesn't have any moving part and doesn't require any material fuel to move.  If it does work as planned, there is a good shot that this could be the first steps in the design of a brand new engine.

NASA is currently studying the new technology for future use, but no one expected these types of results.  When the team of researchers fired lasers into the resonance chamber, the particles were accelerated to astronomical speeds, with some even exceeding the speed of light.

"...this signature (the interference pattern) on the EmDrive looks just like what a warp bubble looks like. And the math behind the warp bubble apparently matches the interference pattern found in the EmDrive."

So what does this mean for space travel as we know it?  Well, it is possible that NASA accidentally created a warp bubble that could, in theory allow for fast travel between the planeets of our solar system and beyond.  While it sounds like something out of Star Trek, it is indeed now a part of real science.  If the EmDrive were able to create a stable warp bubble, traveling the stars will become easier than ever and could propel the human face to where no one has gone before.

This article doesn't make sense. It mixes up particles with interference patterns of warp bubbles, throws in some speculation about "accidental" without linking to ANY source. IMHO some spectacular sounding title with randomly mixed up content to generate some clicks.

Light speed is just an artificial speed limit that will be broken hundreds if not thousands of times as we progress as a species.

What happened to the guy who was trying to raise I think $60,000 to have a resonate chamber built and tested. What happened to him? Was it Hutchingson? Or Dollard? Sorry. I can't remember. It was quite a hot story for a while...looked it up...

Paul LaViolet was proposing this concept some time ago...http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?89788-Superconducting-Levitation-Thruster--Indiegogo-Project-by-Paul-LaViolette-&highlight=EMdrive

Bollocks on all this, if the Ben Rich/Kelly Johnson stories are to be believed.

Sounds like chicken feed being put out by the Deep State. Again.

The Black ops / ssp already have ftl vessels, since, as Ben Rich, the former head of Lockheed skunkworks, said in the early 90s, we have the tech to 'take ET home'.

"The results are still for very small thrusts of under 100 microNewtons, with large input powers of dozens to hundreds of Watts. If you remember faster-than-light neutrinos, the BICEP2 results of gravitational waves from inflation, claims of cold fusion, perpetual motion or any other set of results that were later overturned with more and better data, you'll recall that this is far from a slam-dunk. The theoretical claims of how this could work range from easily disprovable to highly speculative, and they all have no evidence except this one engine to show for it."

NASA Doh o.0.
The concept of trying to go faster than the "Speed of light" is just a mind trap, is just a "we need vast amounts of your cash" to be seen to be doing important experiments for mankind, it's all an illusion of the material world we keep our selves in (being kept in) ,the material trap.
We need to forget about the "physical" limitations of our "reality's"

Reality is EVERYTHING there was, will be and can be. Ignoring anything simply puts artificial blinders and prevents one from learning. You have a body for a reason. If you think you can shed it, by all means, please demonstrate so we can all ascend together into the reality that you perceive.

The topic of faster than light is of course not quite accurate as the technologies being explored deal with the bending/compressing/uncompressing of space-time (whatever that is). The EMDrive is not yet understood or properly reproduced yet. There is also the equivalent Q Thruster.

This link provided by Did You See Them is a bit dated. There is a newer article at https://dailygalaxy.com/2019/03/warp-bubbles-nasa-manipulating-spacetime-to-achieve-faster-than-light-travel-weekend-feature/

The article also has a link to this video which is quite technical and seemingly honest presentation done by the scientist presenting, Dr. Harold "Sonny" White
Wokn7crjBbA

His presentation starts at about 2:40 minutes in and although gets very technical, especially some of the questions and asnwers at the end, shows just how much work it takes to make such science.

Interestingly two of the questions at the end ask him directly that if he had an unlimited budget, how quickly could he produce a working device and he honestly and humbly declined such offers stating that the science available to him is simply not there yet and can easily take many years, despite moneys or resources.

Yes, evidently the military may have back engineered or is using recovered "alien" vehicles, but understanding or at least theorizing and creating mathematical models so that anyone can reproduce such devices seems a long way off (except for the occasional genius or geniuses that come and go).
