What Has Happened To The "Faces Of Avalon" YouTube Channel?

During my duties this morning I noticed that the "Faces Of Avalon" YouTube Channel is no more!?!? Is this happening due to moderators or Youtube?

Just wondering out of interest.

Many thanks for the heads up, and the mods have been trying to figure this out for several hours with little success. We never knew it wasn't there any more.

The channel wasn't closed by YouTube. If you try to open this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqqpEBBz2wE), you see the message

This video is no longer available because the uploader has closed their YouTube account.
Looking back at our internal history, we know it was still open in Jan 2017. Former Avalon moderator Christine was the initial admin of the channel, but after she was unsubscribed from the forum in Oct 2015, Avalon administrator Ilie Pandia removed her name from the account, after which (I believe!) he had control of it himself, with myself listed as a 'manager'.

As some reading this will know, Ilie suddenly retired himself from the forum on 7 December 2018, hard-deleting his account as he did so. I reported what had happened here (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?104824-Bill-Ryan-s-personal-Question-and-Answer-thread.-Pile-it-on.--&p=1263555&viewfull=1#post1263555), a few days later.

Ilie never told us the reason for his departure, but he's not vindictive: so if the closure of The Faces of Avalon was in any way connected with Ilie deleting some of his Avalon-related accounts, it would surely have been an unthinking accident.

Unfortunately, YouTube isn't the kind of corporation that has a user-friendly 24/7 live chat line where questions can be asked. I'd have almost zero confidence that any request for information to YouTube would even be acknowledged, and I'd not even know how to approach them.

But I have moved this thread to a pubic section where (just possibly) Ilie might see it, and possibly get in touch with us if he knows anything about what may have happened. In the meantime, alas, as best I know there's nothing we can do.

An update:

Looking more closely, I now know for sure I accessed the account on 22 Sept, 2018. Another moderator had viewed one of the videos on the channel that day, and I'd taken a look as well. The account was still open then.

Ilie Pandia, who controlled the channel with myself as a nominated 'manager', left the forum on 7 December. It really does look like there's a connection there, though I remain convinced it must have been an accident.

I have never seen that before, are those all the icons of the members of Avalon, in a video as a screensaver? That was very cool! Can it be reproduced and put onto another channel, created specifically for videos for Avalon members to look at? That is actually a great idea.. Having a channel that can store some of the videos that get uploaded for members to watch.

Just a thought. But a lot of great videos get uploaded here. If these was a site channel where people could just go browse the videos of the day or week, they would be cool!

could be as simple if Ilie Pandia closed their account here and also closed their email account associated with you tube I.E. a Google account the channel just automatically closed?
