Macron announces creation of French space force command

French President Emmanuel Macron has approved the creation of a military space force command to boost the country's military capabilities amid a precarious state of ties with the US.

Macron made the announcement while addressing a military audience at the French Defense Ministry in Paris on Saturday, stressing that the new command would eventually be part of his country's air force

How are they pitching it.
When I watch Pence talk to the heads of Pentagon it was very interesting. Talking about threats from space, which didnt sound like Russia attacking out satellites or whatever.

Are they being sneaky and it is really actually cyberspace, like they did with the US military for so long or are they openly embracing the outside earth aspect?

Finally, do people even know or care about this? DO they see it as a waste or needed?

No clues. I don't follow French politics, but the "Gilets Jaunes" can tell you that most people are kept busy trying to figure out how to make ends meet.

President Emmanuel Macron oversaw the events on Sunday which showcased Europe's defence co-operation.

Flags of the 10 countries of the European Intervention Initiative, a joint military pact, led the parade down the Champs-Elysees avenue in Paris.
