I wonder who among us had an education like this. I certainly didn't. But as a shot of hope in the arm for the future, this short documentary is worth every minute.

This has been linked before, but long ago, and was worth a re-post.

Mr Kanamori teaches a class of 10 year olds. We witness him interacting with his students across a school year. Wow, these kids are amazing. And he is amazing. I found it profoundly moving. His favourite word is 'bonding'. That's what he's teaching here, and he's a master at his craft. I learned that there's more, so much more, to education than just facts and figures and books.

I believe the children of today hold the world of tomorrow in their hands. The answer to creating a more peaceful, more compassionate world, lies with them and them alone. And what a wonderful start to that journey these kids were given under Mr Kanamori's tutelage and guidance. I only wish all schools and all teachers were like this...

What a beautiful video Star. Those children are so beautiful, inside and out.

That was so beautiful. What a master of a teacher. Those children will remember him all their lives.

I don't even know if teachers can touch students like that here in the States anymore. But kids need that now and again. I can also see parents here saying "Enough of this crying and expressing emotions. My kids need to learn blah blah and blah blah."

That is true education. Why didn't I ever have a teacher like that?

That was really great! Couldn't stop the Tears of Joy. There is hope in this world. I forgot.

- I forgot for a moment I am part of that hope -

We all are...
