Interesting "green" concept...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHzUtA0eSKA
Apparently, the World's first electric hydrofoil personal watercraft has been named "WaveFlyer". It has been developed, in part, by the University of Western Australia
It rises above the water during operation using a 'hydrofoil propulsion system' and its manufacturers claim it is quieter, greener and more energy efficient than the traditional alternatives.
Powered by 2 x kilowatt hours of energy via lithium ion batteries, appearing similar to a convential jetski, it then rises above the water when powered up using an actively stabilised hydrofoil propulsion system.
I wonder what other applications the technology could be used for...?
