This is a recent video from James Corbett about the increasing censorship of major sites on the internet. The internet is changing substantially, right now.

Avalon member Caliban introduced me to "Bitchute." It's similar to YouTube and has a lot of topics I don't think have been bought about my Google and any other major God corporations yet.
Course you could already know about this and i'm the oldie just finding out. Either way, yay bitchute!

There's also 153news.net https://153news.net/ and Brighteon https://www.brighteon.com/
You'll find stuff there that would no longer last long on Youtube.
On one hand I'd like to shout about these sites -- on the other, the more known they become the more likely of a concerted attack. I also think if something is "not on Youtube, it's not legit" might be the attitude of many we'd like to un-blind.

That's exactly why major sites are censored. If you're looking for any topic on YouTube, Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. especially if it's a controversial topic you will find very different results than what you would have found in the past.
Especially during the beginning of my investigations of independent news, I found a lot of interesting hints and leads on these websites. If I had begun my journey only now, I would have a very different experience.

I don't quite buy that "We Have Lost". :) But yes, I get his point: that the younger generation, eager for the truth about their world, may now have to work quite a lot harder to dig to find it.
But it'll always be there.
Like many reading this, I grew up in a household where my parents watched the TV news every night at 6 pm, and we all sat down to soak it all in: part of our routine family ritual.
And yet I still found my way very early to all the alternative information available at the time. I devoured Gary Allen's read-it-in-an-hour, pass-it-on booklet None Dare Call It Conspiracy (sftp://bill_sftp:@projectavalon.net/None_Dare_Call_It_Conspiracy.pdf) back in 1972, a year after it was published. Someone handed it to me when I was hitch-hiking in Canada. That's kind of how it works. :)
Truth-seekers those who have this deeply embedded in their immortal spiritual essence will always find what they need to. I'm certain.
The real questions may be:
How many truth-seekers are there?
How can they then make a difference, now armed with the information they sought?
Meanwhile, this emphasizes the value of oases like Avalon. Rare and valuable gems are posted and shared daily. Hourly, sometimes. It absolutely saves us searching through all the algorithms to find what we need to know.

This oasis is soooooooooo invaluable Bill, i just wish i shared your optimism as i rather see things more in Corbett's light. I see our experience with the internet same as i see the old US wild wild west, just a brief window in time. The bait would be the wild wild west of internet expanded mind, the switch would be gradual venus fly trap type shut down of info flow and exchange once we are all entrained and addicted to any and every info at our finger tips.
The only outs i truly think would be expanded consciousness which i dont see happening on any scale, or kids learning to hack and bypass the system in neo like fashion. Bypass youtube, bypass google, that sort of thing, cos where we're a headed now is a dead end path imo.

The internet has its limits and we may have reached it.
I cannot stress enough how different it was just a few decades ago, however. Information was severely difficult to find. The notion of a global conspiracy has always been an idea I understood was very real but the proof was more circumstantial than comprehensive. There were many little bits from a wide range of topics that when put together made a pretty good case - but there was no smoking gun, no body.
Then the internet came around and the information exploded. The picture filled in as the facts fell into place. The proof is incontrovertible now.
Yet for all of that, there are always those who weigh the facts in different combinations and come up with entirely different conclusions. So in terms of getting any closer to a widespread consensus we are instead being dragged into identity politics and politically correct speech which has splintered us into many factions.
The war is not over. We are still choosing sides, posturing for a better position perhaps, I don't know. But the war cannot start until battle lines are drawn.
In that regard, the war is yet to begin.
I cannot say who will win. We are the ones who make it happen - we made this travesty of a world by our acquiescence, by not standing up. And we can loose this war in the same manner.
By allowing ourselves to decide based on fear we will again miss our opportunity. For we must be united to stand a chance.
And we must learn to give love a chance - like back in the sixties...it's the only way forward.
We have enough info, we must now all agree. Not on everything of course, but on the basic salient facts of this world.
The rest would unfold naturally.

The internet has its limits and we may have reached it.
(Ernie, italics above and below)
It also has an inherent limit -- it's in our minds, or the cloud, or whatever. What it's not is Face-to-Face. Either we get together, as the Occupy crowd did--which by the way was not left or right or gender this or that--or nothing's really going to happen. Something has to break the ice where we start gathering together again. We need a carnival atmosphere, parties, potlatches, something like that. Get off the machines and listen and look at each other. Maybe something like that could catch fire. Where we start to forget these people and structures even exist.
Yet for all of that, there are always those who weigh the facts in different combinations and come up with entirely different conclusions. So in terms of getting any closer to a widespread consensus we are instead being dragged into identity politics and politically correct speech which has splintered us into many factions.
Yeah, and how many times can we try to show them the truth? Some people will never look at it, though now it's all laid out here in this cloud like a deck of cards

I have always found the Corbett Report to be very useful information , although , I must agree with Bill on this one , all IS not lost .
Being a single father of five , of children ranging in the ages of 3.5 to 19 years of age , i'm in deep , in the internet information mix .
s
The 4 older children sometimes will chill with me while I'm on Avalon , and take it in positively .I just subtly let them know that there's more out there than they would normally learn about .
As I was a late bloomer to get to the information table , but always knew subconsciously , something wasn't right in school . Trust me , I hear from my own kids mouths what they are told at school , lots to disagree with .
In my heart , I feel that this younger generation will overcome and will dig deep enough to learn the truth through other channels...if must .
Thanks Avalon , and all who else , teaches and learns in this great space .
Been soaking in this Avalon Bath since 2011 ...don't mean to sound selfish , but i'm not getting out .
Thanks Bill , and all at Avalon ...still

Honestly, I never expected the internet freedom to last as long as it has. Early on, I thought it was just too good. Too good to last.
Of course, I realize now that during that whole time, the hidden side was just working away, gathering info on us all, likely gleaning massive psychological and sociological based info and techniques to hone the manipulations that suit the agenda.
In the meantime - I have recently found this search engine (Peekier) to be more useful to find info I am seeking, since Google has become so frustrating to me lately!

Back in 2010, I had the opportunity to work with someone who gifted me with the realisation that there could be the potential to liberate humanity from its current plight in this lifetime. It was calculated that all we needed was the square root of 1%, of the 1% of the world population in order to trigger a massive shift in consciousness.
For nearly 7 years, I dedicated my life to this cause but despite our best efforts, and for whatever reasons, we failed to reach barely anyone.
However, I am the eternal optimist and no matter what has been happening in my life, the thought that humanity could somehow pull this off is always there, running in the background of my life. I always wonder how we could make some kind of beginning at Avalon. How might we collaborate on a project to-end-all-projects and what this might look like? A girl can dream can't she?
Seeing Bills post reminded me of a Bioneers talk that Paul Hawkins gave back in 2014. I had forgotten how inspiring and magnificent this video was. Paul mentioned that at a minimum, there were over 130,000 grassroot movements and potentially anywhere up to 500,000. Some memberships of grassroot movements at the time were thought to be in the order of the millions. That was in 2014.
We are now over half way through 2019. What Bill said here made me sit up and pay attention.
The real questions may be:
How many truth-seekers are there?
How can they then make a difference, now armed with the information they sought?
For many of us truth-seekers, we are now armed with the information we sought. How can we now make a difference? I hope that some of the inspirations in this video can now find its way to you. :star:
Another Superpower
Here are some highlights from the video:
"There is another superpower here on earth that is an unnamed movement.
It is far different and bigger and more unique than anything we have ever seen.
It flies under the radar of the media.
By and large it is non-violent.
It is grassroots.
It has no cluster bombs, no armies and no helicopters.
It has no central ideology."
"It is my belief that
we are part of a movement that is
greater and deeper and broader than we
ourselves know or can know"
"There is no justice
without caring for the earth and there's
no way to save this earth of course
without caring for its people"
"It's so new, we can't recognize it. We're familiar with armies and governments and war and churches and religions but there's no precedent for what we're doing. What we are creating is completely unknown. It is everywhere.
There is no centre, there's no one spokesperson.
It's in every country and in every city on earth.
It is within every tribe, race, every culture and every ethnic group in the world.
This is the first time on earth that a powerful non-ideological movement has arisen and during the span of the 20th century. Big ideologies will worship like religion, they dominated our beliefs."
Ideologies dominate our capitalism socialism, communism. In the words of Ed hunt, ideologies stalk the earth clad in armor. They fought for the control of our minds and our lands and it wasn't pretty. We were told that salvation would be found in the domination of a single system and this is where salvation will be found.
We know that as biologists, we know that as community organizers, we know that as ecologists, it's found in diversity, not in domination.
This movement does not seek power, this misunderstood that way. It seeks to dismantle power. Very very different.
It doesn't mean that it's politically inactive, it means this though; that it's overriding agenda is to create a world where the kind of political power we're seeing is criminal, illegal and unnecessary.
It is only visible in its parts occasionally and when they are seen, they're labeled by the media as environmentalists, anti-corporate ragtag, marginal poorly funded, ex-hippies liberals, and it's all true actually but what's missing from these labels and which cannot be tagged so easily is the underlying vision and values and heart and that is what makes this movement a movement.
Because if you ask every one of these groups in the world to write down what informs them, what is it that creates you know, the passion to do the work that they're doing; it is six, seven, eight or nine things and write it down a piece of paper.
And if you had a room or a hall big enough, and you put it on the wall, and you walked down and you read every one of them, they do not contradict themselves.
This is coming up.
This is grassroots.
This is the real deal.
This has never happened in the history on earth ever.
It's singular "

Disagree completely with the premise of this thread.
Hong Kong is on fire with revolution. France and the yellow vests have brought the country to a halt.
Life exists outside cyberspace and it is teeming with awakened beings who are done with the status quo.

Thank you everyone who posted and commented on the Hawken video. I have been lurking in this thread since it began, and i learned a bit about my thoughts and feelings around the phrase information war. As I was thinking about this trying to continue to watch that video I had the thought that we have lost the information war as soon as we believe it is a war. We become traumatized by events, thoughts and feelings as soon as we believe in them and they become solid and not the flow that they are, that flow is described by our fellow human being in the video, that was posted and commented on by our fellow forum members.
We have been entering a time of intense social economic, ecological, and physical upheaval for a while now and we have urges coming from many directions that are trying to fix that upheaval in various directions. No matter what happens, we will always be able to think a thought or not, to believe or not believe and to let the flow of creation flow more smoothly as we are swept along by it.
The apparent devolution of social media has a certain importance, and the rising wave of truth that is still happening between various people has it's own according to what we think and do about it.
The underground railroads of the civil war and of world war two that freed people flowed along normal human communication lines, not internet and cable tv lines.
I personally have had times when I shifted from my physical senses to something beyond them where information flows quite differently, and my insistence on having the answers (which comes from my fears) slips away, and I touch knowing. The main thing that I have been able to bring back into the realm of senses thoughts and words is that that state has always been there behind the agitation of the physical, and is informing life in all it's forms.

I have been using Google now for over a decade. Something is resolutely different. Unfortunately, Colbert is right. I'm loathe to be so pessimistic, but without access to information, people will fall further asleep. Yes, there will always be truth seekers and the resolved will always find a way to access information (in that sense the war's not lost), but without a ready access to the truth, the masses will drift further into trance, truth seekers will become more marginalized, and the truth itself will become more fringe. People might say, so what? What does it matter?
I would argue it matters to the extent that a false reality is being foisted upon us plebs in a concerted effort to dumb down and cull the population, and to render resistance to our inevitable enslavement psychologically impossible (https://infowars.fandom.com/wiki/The_Impact_Of_Science_On_Society).
A concrete example of this occurred in June of this year in New York State when vaccinations became mandatory by law. There was no public resistance. This occurred roughly a year or two after Google altered their algorithms. How do I know this? Because I've been researching vaccines now through Google (among other platforms) for the past ten years and about two years ago something noticeably changed in the quality of information available online vs. the subtle propaganda a lay person or someone not versed on the subject would have trouble discerning. This is a critical development that cannot be understated.
As long as information is readily available to illuminate the deception and the underlying agenda, lawmakers (who really but carry the water for their corporate masters) will always struggle passing draconian injunctions sold to the public in shinny wrapping. A loud minority always succeeds in thwarting a sinister agenda. But take away the information and resistance is futile. All that's left is the shinny packaging. The loud minority becomes a much smaller party of fringe tinfoil hats.
Regardless if one agrees that mandatory vaccination is good legislation (I acknowledge some people do agree with vaccination and I bear no judgement against them) the draconian measure to force by injection is a clear violation of the number one tenet of the Nuremberg Code. We really need to stop and think about how serious this is. Something has changed....and I would argue it is the direct result of the lack of information available to the public. In this one example we plebs are now subject to forced injections by the powers that be, with no legal recourse whatsoever if we be maimed, injured, or just lucky enough to only develop debilitating diseases and cancers in our ensuing years. What's next?
Even if I'm exaggerating a hidden agenda underlying vaccines (there certainly is an underlying agenda, but that's another topic), we are still granting Orwell's Inner Circle full license to carry out any number of experiments they want upon the masses, without any consequence or recourse. Think Tuskegee Experiment going nuclear and widespread. What recourse do we have? How long will it be before one cannot even Google "Tuskegee Experiment?"
Unless we reverse what Colbert address in this video, and fast, the technocrats slowing sucking the oxygen out of the room are succeeding in dispatching a very sophisticated psychological weapon against the masses.
I say time to stand up and SCREAM....

I hear what you're saying . Subversion has always a been a part of what we've known , and to what history has
"told" us , and still exists today .
Saying that , there's definitely a shift in consciousness ...
Look back , to how many years you need to go , and to now , the existence of the internet .
You have got to believe that there's an up curve in the positivism of mass consciousness .
How many new souls do you meet a day ? How many of these souls do you feel to be on the cusp of transitioning the way we once have ? Or people you've known for years that it's finally their time for this understanding ? I personally see hope , I personally have seen the progress .
Of coarse times were harder for our parents and beyond , to say , or even to think and believe of possibilities apart from the status quo ...
But now ??? The time Is here and NOW and has been....For quite some time ...
The WWW has been quite an antidote

When a government wants to introduce a new policy or structure to government the people, it always gives away carrots so the people being short sighted will respond favorably. Then the carrot is taken away slowly and the people find they already have fallen into the trap and there is no return. At the beginning of the internet there is a sudden burst of great freedom and the joy of instant communication. You can watch free movies, have free discussion in various forums, get information quickly that is undreamed of in the past. These have now been taken away and there is only the feeling of being exposed and watched, big brother right in front of you.
The internet is rather like a large fish net with shrimps to lure fish in the wide ocean to come together for easy management or seafood. Corbett sees that the net is being lifted. There is every sign of it, since the main goodness of the internet, freedom of information is rapidly taken away from us.

It once took me five years to educate a friend about the true goings-on in the world. It was very difficult to do, with much meandering all over the intellectual landscape. The problem wasn't only false beliefs but inaccurate information and great big gaps in comprehension.
This same individual needed my help with his university work in computer systems and analysis, for which he eventually got a degree.
Now, I am not some whiz kid, but I know my stuff. It has been my life's work and I am very proud of my accomplishments in this area. His problem wasn't a lack of IQ or ability to think. No, it was mostly very bad teachers. I am a good teacher. That's it. No big secret. I have the ability to hone in on a person's problem and know how to reach them so they can undo the error and correct their internal compass.
That is the problem with the internet. There is no teacher. Instead it goes by word-of-mouth. The most shared content is the most likely to be seen, censorship aside of course. So what often happens is the most shared videos pass on the most common errors in understanding. There is no learning on the net unless the person is already well informed from other sources so as to be able able to separate the chaff from the wheat. There is a lot of unsubstantiated and just plain wrong claims on the internet.
Even I had a lot more to learn that I was unaware of but because I had a good foundation I had enough resources to find what I needed, mostly Avalon but there were others before that. Not that Avalon is the only place on the net where information is sorted with my type of discernment that I can trust.
We need teachers to help us navigate through the mire of lies, half-truths, and purposely misleading data that is rampant on the net.
Teachers must already have a data set that came before the internet or sourced from outside the net. And it already has to have been vetted by the teacher so that they are ready to teach, with the ability to quickly sort through data and determine its validity or possible merit, or otherwise.
I knew a lot when I came here. Unfortunately, apart from the basics and some esoteric data, most of the conclusions I had drawn were wrong. I unlearned a lot with Avalon's help. Then placed new learning on top of that pile. It took years to sort through all the connections, and to deal with the ramifications, and delete the false information (that last is a work in progress).
This is not the information age, as we are told. This is the awakening age, the disinformation age preceded it and is its catalyst. There was never an information age. That would be counter-productive to the establishment who have exerted so much effort in keeping us ignorant.
So to say that the information war is over is again putting the cart before the horse. There never was an information age, just an age of revelation. Revelation of conspiracy is not itself information, but leads to it in the investigation of the data's relevance.
Teachers are very important. Competent teachers like Avalon, that is. Like an unhealed healer, a teacher that has not pulled their head out of their ass can only teach the accepted memes of society, and nothing more. They are actually performing a disservice to society by not taking their very important jobs seriously.
So take heart. The information war is not over - it has barely begun! And be grateful you have found a great teacher that will help you place the data in the proper order with the proper emphasis.
Happy learning...

The younger generation will and have changed there viewing habits, and where they get there information, there is hope
Searching for "Spiritless humans" on Google is exactly the same as it was in 2015, and that's pretty darn controversial! That's the exact Google Search which took me 'down the rabbit hole' so to speak.
I didn't even think to search for that until I met a person who was researching psychopaths. Spiritless humans may or may not exist, but psychopaths certainly do.

I agree with the OP, and think the Hawkins videos are hope porn garbage. Bombastic orchestral music is usually a big clue. I am surrounded by 98% totally mind controlled morons who could EASILY be triggered to rise up and defend the power/money tribe's agendas to their own demise. What the moron will make fierce effort for is to keep their minds door closed because they have ZERO courage, they will choose compliance over what feels like way too scary actions for their own benefit. It's too much trouble to even do it for their children.
These debt ridden, vaccination defending, kneeling to masochistic images, crap eating, porn and violence watching, phone-internet-tv-gaming wasteland addicted couch potato obedient sleeping masses are buying the narrative completely. I've been horrified by the mind control ramping up from all angles, but especially the isolation agenda being rolled out since the total takeover of ALL media by the big power/money tribes. No one anywhere is being told what's going on elsewhere - the money and power tribes are getting away with HUGE mass genocidal agendas on common people. All major and alternative media sources are now poisoned, infiltrated, compromised or IGNORANT/DELUDED in their own way. There is mass genocide right now and 'stage setting' for future genocide also being rolled out in the form of planned crop/food shortages. The true impact and devastation of far reaching weather warfare mass destruction events around the world for a few years now are being blacked out, even within states!!!
It's TOO LATE for things to get better before they get WAY worse... possibly for a very, very long time:
1. Worldwide... and especially in so called 'free' America despite it's so called 'constitutional protections and rights' there has ALWAYS foundationally been ZERO real power by the slave class to hold those in power accountable on anything really crucial and major. Changing special interests by those with MONEY have gotten everything they wanted. Just looking at last century they got away with EVERYTHING - the phony reasons for world wars creating huge profiteering and social suppression, the relentless social engineering and the creeping in of 1000s and 1000s of national/local laws benefitting no one but their agendas.
All their ducks are now in a row and the escalation of dark and suppressive mind, body and spirit controls are racing past everyone's awareness or ability to defend.
2. The lack of holding anyone in power accountabie has now gone on so long while the explosion of powerful controlling technologies has exploded has now made any 'rising up' or ability to achieve anything effective and broken off IMPOSSIBLE. The money tribe holds ALL the keys, ALL the power, ALL the media - to squash, suppress, kill, mind numb as necessary. I'm not being pessimistic. I'm being realistic. Foundationally, this unnaccountable psychopaths/spineless compliants scenario is nothing new - it's the most repeated human behavior cycle through time. The only differences now are the advanced technological tools available to wield power and suppress dissent.
In the past some group would finally have had enough and broke off to go elsewhere. For the real first time due to the technology, there's now no place left to go.
HOWEVER, there's a reason the available shortcuts to just wipe out who they want and get it over with are not being taken. It's being done in a dragged out way because of something THEY fear. It's not great numbers organizing - they can kill that.
I agree with Elana Freeland - one of the most tuned in, educated and fearless people I know of on the frontlines right now. You are on your own, YOU are your only hope. Your ONLY defense is within the realm of your own consciousness. It's the ONLY thing greater than all their weaponry.
That's not a selfish thing to do. It's rendering into existence for others the access to a teaching/example of how you achieved your fearlessness, resistance and sovereignty against the heartless bullies surrounding you this lifetime.

Outstanding post, Ernie. You are spot on.
My speculation is, based on my own experience using the platform -- is that the "no teacher" idea isn't random nor based on the most commonly shared information. That's how Google used to do it. With their new algorithms, there is an AI Big Brother baked into the equation, so to speak, that "assumes" the role of teacher and directs the information. You can still get to the truth and accurate information, but it's a very cumbersome process. The platform's algorithms have more or less thrown a magnet into the information flow directing one's internal compass, so to speak, to employ your very excellent analogy.
So in other words, the algorithm now takes the most widely shared disinformation, i.e., that which aligns with the overarching agenda of Google, and employs their algorithms to it accordingly. Information not favorable to the agenda is somehow "weighted" differently. In this sense the information isn't "censored", per se, just factored accordingly. And then everything plays out precisely how you've described.

In the meantime - I have recently found this search engine (Peekier) to be more useful to find info I am seeking, since Google has become so frustrating to me lately!https://peekier.com
I just tried peekier and got pretty much the same result as Google. I've tried quite a few alternative search engines now and they all seem to get similar results and none seems to reflect anything like the search results we used to get years ago. I'm still waiting for a truly alternative search engine.

It is interesting to observe that information is not fact. Information is just what the word implies. Information is data in a certain order. That's it. Information is not even necessarily true or correct. It is merely presented in a particular order, both including and omitting data according to the premise the information was gathered to highlight in the first place.
So when we say this is the information age, what we are actually saying is that data is coming at us far faster than we can organize and assimilate it. There is so much information out there that much of it directly refutes our standard model.
But what is a standard model? Who compiles the tidal wave of incoming information? Who assures that information is vetted and placed in the proper context? Who modifies the standard model to reflect the new data?
Nobody, that's who!
The standard model is actually a frozen statue of out-dated information that will not allow a single change to its constituent parts. Instead, modifications are added to the unchanged standard model. These modifications ride atop the old model and are only applied in specific instances, but are not a source for further understanding or for extrapolation into other areas or disciplines. The modifications are isolated to certain specific problems that the standard model cannot explain. Modifications are exceptions.
It's like saying 1 + 1 = 2, except in calculations of quantum tunneling where 1 + 1 is undefined. Or on the second Tuesday of the month following a blue moon, when 1 + 1 = 3...
The standard model stands stubbornly unwilling to bend or amend even an iota of data. Because if it did the entire story would unravel. The standard model barely holds together under the unending onslaught of new information as it is. If it were to accept even one new idea, it would no longer offer any sort of coherent explanation for even the most simple phenomena.
There is a connection between reality and consciousness that has not yet been understood in any meaningful way. In this context, reality is the motive while consciousness is the motivator.
Until we can grasp the meaning of that last sentence there cannot be a standard model of any significance.
