Welcome Mashika (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/member.php?45714-Mashika)
this girl, Aurora, have a special Mezzo voice tunning, that cover the two female vocal records (soprano and contralto)
these kind of singers have an angelical voice, capable of surpassing the best musical instruments in the world !
to liven up the party on this (angel female voice) thread, I offer a full vocal (abuse) by Annie Haslam
mi_QCi4rjZM
and the sweet Alanis Morissete .. to relax a few ..

Always thought Alanis Morissete was great. Never heard Annie Haslam before and she's so cool, and can't believe she didn't lose vocals right there, so amazing.. Thank you so much

Yes Aurora is quite incredible, great look and voice.
On an opposite comparison
DIE ANTWOORDAurora Aksnes, Aurora Aksnes dark twin/alter ego ?
looks very similar and has a unique singing voice but very different choice of media content.
warning, Bloody visuals and swearing.
DIE ANTWOORD - UGLY BOY
Ill leave this vid as a text link ;)

popular and catchy tune though.

Great post Mashika! I'm absolutely a music lover myself so thanks for this. I'm always hunting for new music. I also enjoy old school audio gear for whatever reason, I have a mid range amp from the 80s, a cd changer from the 90s, and a baseline turntable from who knows when. Of all my friends I'm the only one that actually has a CD collection and I continue to add to it constantly. There's a place at my local flea market that I can go to and dig through albums, its so much fun. I have a few vinyls but I generally stick to CDs.
Check out this thread, I post in it occasionally and if you are particularly a music fan I bet you'll like it too: My Favourite Music (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?89767-My-Favourite-Music&p=1316700#post1316700)

DIE ANTWOORD!! You mean Yolandi? That is a great (or opposite) comparison, I can totally see/hear it!
Yes, and Mashika, please check out the "My Favorite Music" thread! I'd be curious to see who else you're into.

At my old home we used to have lots of old tech from the 70's and 80's, like turntables and tape players, old TVs with wheels and other stuff from my late grand father. Also we had a few walkman that belonged to my older aunt when she was a teen, it was fun playing with them, i think there was even an 8 track player but it was broken, i would love to play with those but unfortunately it seems like my aunt sold them all before moving away :/
Old tech is very cool, and kind of has a unique smell, or maybe i imagine that with nostalgia? :D
Thanks for the link, will definitely go there :)

I think this (homeless) subject should be welcome here
A police officer stumbled upon a woman singing opera in the Wilshire-Normandie subway station. The mesmerizing performance was filmed and soon posted on the LAPD Twitter account (https://twitter.com/LAPDHQ/status/1177423181679755264/video/1). The woman’s angelic singing immediately went viral. The woman introduced herself as Emily Zamourka, a 52-year-old songstress and musician from Russia. Zamourka learned to sing as a child by watching opera singers perform on television. Her passion for music lead to mastering the piano and violin later in her life.

Events took a turn for the worse when her $10,000 violin was stolen and destroyed. Zamourka said that the violin was the only means of income for her at that point. However, even though her instrument was gone, nobody could steal her voice and her passion for music.

Since the video went viral, the phenomenal songstress became a local celebrity, drawing crowds of spectators as well as news reporters. Zamourka was also asked to sing at the opening of Little Italy in celebration of Italian heritage in Los Angeles. A GoFundMe campaign (https://www.gofundme.com/f/emily-zamourka-subway-opera-singer-in-la) was also kicked off to help Zamourka get housing and back on her feet.

Have been thinking about this lady, must feel horrible having to go through all that and see time go by without being able to accomplish your dreams
But i see that the GoFundMe is now at $65,900, amazing!
She's so cool, i hope she can bring herself up and keep working on her dreams
Would be amazing to see her working her own music school

Thank you for posting this! My internet data allowance on phone is low and I need to get my Wi-Fi sorted, but I shall be back to go through this when I'm data rich again haha! ❤️

Lovely first thread, Mashika. Thanks!
Rogparan - Here is another by Annie. It holds such deep significance for me. Hard to put into words, but it was directly involved in my own adventure into a wonderful/insane tunnel reality, and my climb out of it back to sunlight.

A Trip to the Fair It's my favorite song too.
Scheherazade It's my favorite Renaissance album
I choose the live video to show the quality (power) of the singer,
thinking that Aurora have a similar angel voice :clapping:

Just enjoying this performance at the Kex Hostel in Reykjavik from back in January:

It's as if she's posessed by the same spirit as Bjork - perhaps it's a Scandiwegian thing:

Very interesting that you found her so similar to Bjork, a couple other friends have said the same before but most other friends could not see any similarity. I do see it as well! :)

I do like Goth but don't listen much of that these days. The first time i remember listening to it was Bauhaus

ok thx, was just making a connect that way because 'Goth Industrial dancers' use face dust masks, makes them look/feel more robotic.

She is the best at this type of dancing. Fun for a while :)

I don't do that dance style but have friends who do :)
The mask is mostly due to privacy issues, i'm still working on that thing but some time ago my sister and I had some problems with some guy and his friends and we had to completely go offline for almost 2 years
Slowly but we are working on getting back online :)
This is another version of "It happened quietly" that i love very much, now that i think about it, this is how i was introduced to Aurora :)

Today i learned Aurora can take any song out there and turn it into an old long lost legendary and magical chant from the Elves :P
