I can understand that there are people who go along with the program out of ignorance. But with regards those who are informed and make such decisions that destroy the health of the life on this planet (or take the risk of such probability (often in secret)), one has to dumfoundedly ask why?

Who would fry dogs and conduct unethical experiments on other life? Are they genetically demented, have a gross level of underlying fear, or gross lack of empathy? Are they motivated by strong greed and/or apetite for control? Are they mind-contorlled? Is is about survival at any cost? Are there influences of "evil"? Perhaps, it's a lack of the mind working with the heart which may be perceived as a sense of weakness?

As a common theme, they have no problem rationalizing/justifying their behavior.

We can go back through the eras of technological innovation and ask the same question of why. Moreover, one can ask the same questions about the tortures during the inquisitions, and on back (and on forward) it goes.

I'll speculate, generally, that ideas and actions are often brought about in groups, and each group has a definition of what's culturally acceptable.

Father used to 'Tell' me that cow farts are part of the global warning issue, and I never believed him because it sounded like a joke!
