View Full Version : Where do you get your news?

I am wondering what sources people are using to get their news. I am talking mostly about political news and current affairs. I certainly don't want to confine this discussion to the US or European news only. I am eager to hear about any worldwide sources that people may be accessing, especially if you can hit a translate button at the top of the page.
When I get up in the morning I sit down with a cup of coffee and check out both CNN (https://www.cnn.com/) and Fox News (https://www.foxnews.com/) on my phone. For me, it is too time-consuming and emotionally draining to watch political news or current events news on TV so I mostly just read the news. Also getting this info on my phone reduces the number of stories that each site will show you. Consequently, I am only viewing the info that these sources feel are the most important at the time of publishing. Obviously CNN and Fox are at different ends of the political spectrum which is why I read them both.
Occasionally (once or twice a week) I will watch Fox News at 6 pm. Fox is obviously a conservative right-leaning cable station but they are not averse to calling out Republicans when it is warranted. Also, they will almost always include a person from the left on their panel discussions. This is not to be confused with opinion TV on Fox such as Tucker Carlson or Hannity.
The other way that I consume news is through Newseum's front page (https://www.newseum.org/todaysfrontpages/). Through a special agreement with nearly 1,000 newspapers worldwide, the Newseum displays these front pages each day on its website. The front pages are in their original and unedited form. From there you will find a drop-down box that says "sort by region" which allows you to see newspapers from around the world by region. Most are in English or can be translated into English with a click.
Once you get to the front page of any particular newspaper you can hit the website button which will take you to the newspapers actual site.
I realize that many people on Avalon have probably given up on the mainstream news. That said if you have alternative sources that provide a decent view of what is happening in the world it would be great to hear about them.

Only a few.
For a "big bundle" somewhat current but really an archive on all modern news, there is a type of "counter-conspiracy" site that I like because it jettisons the conventional Jews/Masons/Rothschild bias:
Institute for Study of Globalization and Covert Politics (https://isgp-studies.com/)
The only western one I use is also a "bundle":
Information Clearing House (http://informationclearinghouse.info/)
To the extent I want anything more from the west, I would just go to the White House or State Legislature sites, or courts. I often get a better local story from:
RT, Russia Today
And generally look at some other countries' own mouthpieces such as:
SANA, Syrian State
ANNA, Abkhazian News, requires google translate
Farsnews or Press TV, Iran
Al Manar, Hezbollah
These are all pretty clean and refreshing compared to any "your local news" or almost any kind of website. There has been pretty good coverage of Yemen on Al Masdar, but that one has gotten blingy and overloaded with junk ads and so forth. There was also a Kurdish site whose name I can't remember, but it only had a few updates.
I personally feel much better without the infringement of almost everything from western media. It's good to miss.

Facebook memes seem to be where most people get their news from these days ...
Sorry, I'm having a "disappointed with humanity" moment, its been like that for me for the last few weeks ... :)
I generally avoid the news at all costs, but do listen to CBC radio (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CBC_Radio) on the way to work and they sometimes have news bites, mostly local, slightly left of center, but I'm aware of that and keep an objective view. I never take any news at face value at all ... absolutely nothing.

Great subject rgray222! This is one of my many favorites. I watch msm any more just to keep tabs on what I'm supposed to be thinking, and, compare that to what looks to be actually happening.
2 champions here imo, "The Last American Vagabond" chats recently with James Corbett. May need to access actual youtube link for whatever reason. Note, this is not X22 type of hype, most things spoken of with both of these gentleman is accompanied by evidence, not just mostly conjecture and partisan maneuvering.

On TV, the only news source I find worth watching is France24 (on Roku). Up until the start of the Russia hoax back in 2016, I used to watch Russia Today. Pat Buchanan called them a reasonably good news network back then. But since the US govt made them register as foreign agents, they have gone to full-on opinion. Not so much covering a story in the Middle East anymore, more of a guy standing up and sarcastically criticizing the US.
I never read newspapers. On my laptop I go to drudgereport.com and that gives me most of the trending stories. Sometimes a link will take me to another link...
On my phone, during while at work, I look at Reuters and Al Jazeera.

Though it is not healthy to do unless you like yelling at the screen or are exercising somehow...
MSMedia to me is but a gauge of watching a society under the influence of foundational funding, drowning, awash in the encroaching flood of undeniable truths breaking thru it's doors, shattering....
IT only responds when it becomes breathless.....
Click, click, click....."At LEAST (this many-----) have died today..."
Hollywood whores and media madams ushering their lame narratives in scripts that even the hillbillies reject as socialist sewage.
Even the dimmest of lights are the most humane in this world of manufactured novellas sold as news and entertainment.
Even they see the connection of the stories told Live On Air as news and the shows that endlessly repeat the cartoon narratives of countries run by despots and imaginary enemies.
Producers, the intel ass hats that guide and approve the storylines and writers who give them their pinocchio puppetry life are so f'n ignorant they think the propaganda works, unnoticed. Subtlety my ass.
It's the same to me as watching a very old movie in black and white, except the news should only be watched with the sound off....even if just to see how connected we are at reading the truth of the lies being sold on the faces...... as they mold another story from the bowels of their fading being....somewhat alive..... selling... the telling of a toll yet to be paid...complicit in the darkness that their end will show....them.... in living color.
I get my news from the earth, the stars, the air.
I listen to the plants, the water, the animals and insects.
I slow myself down and listen to the chatter echoing in my brain. I let it go and listen anew each day.
Knowing full well that even my mind is not contained in my body, I allow my soul to ......... be
Otherwise I read the writings on restroom walls and tenement halls.
When I want to laugh about it all, when I want to read some great prose,
get entertained and gain some accurate sense of the way the world is generating it's news,
I read the comment sections on mixed martial arts sites.
We are the news.

I have a similar lifestyle habit of getting up in the morning, doing my yoga practice, then make myself a coffee and fire-up the PC to check current events via websites. I almost never visit the MSM sites like ABC, NBC or Fox. They're all just too much biased for me and I find their TV news even more difficult to watch.
Sites I check often:
https://www.rt.com ::: I never bought into the Russian hoax. Great counter viewpoints and perspectives on many issues.
https://projectavalon.net ::: you already know this one!. Doesn't update as often as it used to.
https://www.zerohedge.com/ ::: more for economic news, but not entirely
https://consortiumnews.com/ ::: a collective of real journalists like Daniel Ellsberg, John Pilger and more
http://fetch.news/ ::: great when you're after something specific and don't want to use big-tech's search engines for news)
https://www.naturalnews.com/ ::: I find wide ranging and insightful views here but I have to ignore Mike's extreme pro-Trump bias)
https://www.rt.com/shows/keiser-report/ ::: I love Stacey and Max's take on US and global finance (videos)
And sites that I check occasionally:
https://www.drudgereport.com/ ::: I find this a bit hard to browse, but still good stuff)
https://www.collective-evolution.com/ ::: not updated on a daily basis but has thoughtful editorials and ops
https://sana.sy/en/ ::: for a non-US centric perspective on the ME

I actually like RT. It is the most objective news that I have found. Topics seem well researched. You can access it on YouTube where you will be warned that it is financed by the evil empire, Russia. Objective news financed by Russia and the US mainstream provides nothing but biased propaganda, it's kind of ironic.
ZeroHedge is a good source for information as well.

I don't bother to watch any news source. Through my regular social activities if I hear about something that catches my interest then I will search it out. I will then check a number of sources to get a thorough report.
I don't think I have ever missed something really important that would affect my life. If it is important, I will hear about it.

For me watching news it's like watching an endless soap opera,no matter the subject...endless political contradiction, endless wars, endless financial problems, endless social exposures,no conclusions regarding subjects...and this goes on worst and worst with each episode passing...so nothing new, only new people with similar aspect and behavior...
REAL NEWS are coming from places written above (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?109247-Where-do-you-get-your-news&p=1324460&viewfull=1#post1324460) by Hym,the rest is only noise...
