I'm curious what you folks are doing for Christmas dinner. Most of my family will be out of town but I'll still be doing a dinner with the parents thing.

What are some typical Christmas dinner dishes that you like?

I'll start. My mom, sis and her family have come from Canada to Australia to spend Christmas with us this year. Because it is usually hot on Christmas day nobody wants to use the oven....plus the last 2 years the power was out on xmas day....so we are going with cold food. We will be having an organic free range ham with potato salad, and a few other interesting salads featturing things like pine nuts and pomegranates.

I'min charge of desert and have made a chocolate, banana and date icecream in a coconut base, that will be served with organic frozen raspberries, homemade chocolate and roasted almond slivers.

This is the first time i have seen my mom in 10 years so it is a pretty special Christmas for us all. I have so much to be greatful for.

We are having kale stew with sausage. Typical dutch food. Yum!

Have a nice holiday everybody! And of course a great healthy and super interesting new year in which we will get Disclosure, Free Energy and the truth about 911 in the Mainstream. If one of these things get true i will be absolutely thrilled. :)

Mara (my dog) and I will be heading out at dawn for a big Christmas Day hike. Details here (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?93672-Another-vicarious-adventure-and-another-Avalon-Cairn--for-the-Wawa-Grande-this-time-&p=1328595&viewfull=1#post1328595), but this is our collection of Christmas treats: :)

http://projectavalon.net/Bill_and_Mara's_Christmas_treats.jpg

A bag of bones for Mara, a little 8 oz moccaccino (an experiment: no idea what it may be like), a tiny Christmas cake, a Cornetto (which may or may not survive in any recognizable form :) ), a bunch of dates, and some home-made chocolate, which looks a little odd because it's got blueberries in it.

That makes up a ton of high sugar, but it's a long hiking day, so it'll all be put to good use (and so will Mara's bones).

• —> For anyone else who's finding themselves on their own on Christmas Day: :bearhug:

I'm going to open the moccaccino, the Christmas Cake and the Cornetto (and the bag of bones) at 12:00 noon US Eastern time, wherever I am. That's 9 am Pacific, 5 pm in the UK, 6 pm in Europe, and 7 pm in South Africa. (For Australians, it'll already be the early hours of Boxing Day.... apologies!) For our friends in Hawaii, I'll be enjoying a second helping of the moccaccino and cake at 2 pm (though the Cornetto will surely be gone) ... that's 9 am in Hawaii.

It will be just my husband and me, and I am going with comfort food: pot roast, potatoes, marinated fresh vegetables, creamed spinach, rolls and homemade double chocolate biscotti for dessert. Eating organic and vegetarian is on my bucket list but I'm afraid it may be for another life! May Peace and Joy be in the heart of all in this much loved Community. Diane

Cooking a prime rib at home with 2 veggies and assortment of wine followed by a fire on the deck with a fine cigar. I am very thankful for everything and being able to help others too. Last year we cooked a huge dinner for a little boy with cancer and his 5 brothers and sisters and delivered it all to his house. I had the entire trunk of the car loaded with food right out of the oven. Just to see that little boys face and the parents of gratitude was the bestest. I know they had food for a few days for what we took over.

Was gonna have double cream and Christmas pudding, but cannot find it anywhere!

A bit late to plan this now, but maybe next year we could do a live stream via Youtube. Live stream a fire or something as a background and have a comments section open that Avalon users can chat in. That way no Avalonian would have to feel alone. Just a thought.

I got King some presents as well. No snacks, he's got enough of those, but a few toys. The cats don't like toys so they will be feasting on tuna.

Veggie Chicken and veggie Turkey.

All vegetable dinner for the family.

We don't fall asleep immediately after dinner and have a great evening together.

When I was a kid, we ate a big Turkey dinner and then the house went to sleep. :)

This year it will be a usual daily meal (except for the dessert, that has become characteristic of this time of the year (Xmas) in our house due for the mango season.

Rice
Beans
Boiled Potato and meat (carne de panela com batata)

Mango mousse (dessert).

I made the dessert. My sister and her husband made everything else (, I confess)...

Sushi ;)

Actually, in Japan they celebrate on Christmas Eve by eating roasted chicken and a Christmas cake which is white cake covered with whipped cream and topped with strawberries.

I felt your sensitivity there, Dear Strat and Bill, and even though it's just me and my husband here and 24 past holidays alike,we both agreed that we have so much love, emotion and longing for human beings and the Universe, so much so that a wave in which we can be the whole Avalon community online is an extraordinary thought!

I am totally transposed in this form of manifestation which could be an even closer connection between all the members!

I am already connected to your idea for next year :) although the idea can go further .. maybe in the possible future we will be able to be connected with everyone in this present even though this has already happened in the present past!because time is no longer important, only our mission of all, together, over which we can build a bridge that will unite us all,in the great awakening in which, we will immerse, and along the oceans of good resolutions to come even more in the step of a new year!
For your question,
What are you having for Christmas dinner?
I cooked all day and did not think to photograph anything, tomorrow everything is eaten with joy anyway.

Here I am, sharing the best thoughts and wishes for those who feel alone, because we were born in this world alone and yet we are all united by the nature of the human spirit, the seed that unites us in essence here and beyond...

So I wish from my soul, great and pleasant winter holidays for everyone!

Tonight we have dinner at my brothers house with all typical American food of turkey , ham and all the traditional trimmings. Tomorrow is breakfast at my house and since I do not have help that day everything is self serve and cold. A table with different flavors of yogurt, with granola , strawberries , blueberries , all kinds of croissants..... filled with chocolate , baklava, almonds and plain , some cold ham and spinach quiche. Cannot end without a “ rosca de navidad “ pictured here and some “chocolate salami “. For drinks fresh orange juice and different coffees.
...... then we run to my aunts for a Mexican lunch of Pavo con Mole, which is turkey with a special sauce from Puebla. We have been eating that all my life. Dreading when my aunt is gone and do not know who will continue the tradition.

We latins love to entertain and show our love with food. I wish you all were seating at my table joining my family and I. I wish you a very happy holiday and I sent you love from Ecuador

Beef brisket on outdoor oak fire, wild foraged lions mane mushroom in garlic butter, sweet potato, green beans, home grown pomegranate cobbler.

Copious amounts of local wines, grape juice.

Some magic to stop the rain for the outdoor fire.

My best to all!

We weren't sure what to make this year but we made deviled eggs, ham, mashed sweet potatoes, corn and garlic bread.

Nothing wrong with that, Marie Calendar is one hell of a cook.

I made some meat rolls, but I share with you some biscuits with salt and cumin that I baked (I can't find the right translation for them but it's something traditional), and a cake ...:) much too big for just me and my husband at the table.
The cake is not very sweet, but very tasty and I want to share a piece with anyone from everywhere who finds themselves alone this holiday season!

Doing all Italian this year chicken fettachini Alfredo and lasagna and of course the apps and wines. Throw in the Detroit lions football game, friends and family and were all set for the day. At the end of the day any home cooked food with the ones we love is really what it's all about, even if it was mac and cheese out of the box would be fine with me.:)

We normally have Brazil nut roast en croute with veggies, but Christmas is postponed this year... I came home from work early at 1am yesterday with terrible indigestion, slept for 24 hours and still feel like death warmed up. At least nothing will be wasted so maybe if I'm up to it, we'll have that tomorrow. I'll probably have porridge for dinner today (that's oatmeal to my American friends).

Hello, Everyone — my Christmas feast is very modest. I made some dark chocolate (raw cacao + coconut oil + honey + chopped dates), which is dead easy and super-delicious. I just pour it on to a plate like this to freeze it to set it:

https://projectavalon.net/Bill's_chocolate.jpg

And next, I'm about to make some bread. That's always an unpredictable adventure (for me!), but whatever it ends up looking like, it usually tastes pretty good. :P

All my good wishes to everyone out there. If you happen to be on your own today, maybe go to a tiny bit of trouble and devise a fun treat for yourself. (Even if it's experimental!) It may be well worth it.

20 minutes ago, there was a loud knock on my front door. I popped my head out cautiously and the neighbor from the house exactly across the road from me asked me if I wanted a Christmas dinner brought over for me !

I instantly gasped and grinned and stuck my thumb up and said Yeaaa Fantastic !

He said "it'll be about an hour" and spun around on his heels and headed off back across the road.

The folks around here are quite tricky to get along with, then one of them turns up at my door on Christmas day with an offer like that, totally out of the blue. Just as well I wasn't doing anything big for food today myself. I'm well ready for it.

The last time I even spoke to him was about a year ago.

This is a lovely post! It all looks and sounds delicious!
It's my husband and I with our two black cats (sisters).
It's going to be a curry - I think I'll do a selection of dishes. We have a wonderful second hand bookshop near us and someone must have at some point, traded a decent sized collection of Indian cookery books - some quite unusual with stunning photography.
I snapped several of them up over the last few months! So I guess I'll be guided by the wonderful pictures and choose something I haven't cooked before.
We're lucky to live downtown and close to a selection of international supermarkets (which seem to escape the current trend of panic buying!) So I'm feeling happy and grateful to be well stocked with spices and exotic looking vegetables - oh, and plenty of local craft beer!
Enjoy your meals and dishes everyone. It all looks tasty!

It has been very hot this last week, it being summer here in Perth Western Australia, my companion and I grazed on:
1. A heap of freshly boiled 'banana prawns' which are very large prawns, with mayonnaise dipping sauce
2. Ham off the bone, sliced
3.Potato Salad with egg/black olive slices/avocado
We did not have any room left for the Christmas pudding/custard, we will have that another time.
I had a few small single malt whiskies (very modest) and soft drinks
I appreciate what we had, we feel very lucky indeed, because we have an air conditioner so we have been very comfortable.
Merry Christmas to you all, hope you also got to eat something delicious.

I am fixing baby back ribs and sauerkraut with mashed potatoes...baking in the oven as I write, so I get to listen to music and go on Avalon while Ron naps. A beautiful stray cat who has been hanging around had a special Christmas cat food treat, for which he was very grateful, judging from how long he took to eat it. It made me happy. Cold here, about 17° this morning, and enough snow to make it pretty. I wish everyone could have hot food and a visit from a beautiful cat. 🎄❤️, Diane

Wishing everyone a happy Christmas!

The plan was a salad of mixed greens with tart apple, smoked mackerel, cranberries, and leeks with a dill dressing.

My sister said to me "If you serve salad no one will come to your Christmas party!"

As it turns out this year, food wasn't on the priority list, so it will be a hearty, warming vegetable-bean soup.
