Puerto Rico has been getting hammered with earthquakes in the last week, all in pretty much exactly the same place: just off the SW coast. They're all very shallow: this last one was just 2 km deep, which is almost right on the surface.
A few days ago they had 24 quakes between 4.0—4.5 all in one day. The whole island was without power for a while, and is still out in many areas.
The situation is that two tectonic plates are in high tension in that one location, and local seismologists are warning about the possibility of a 'big one'. Of course, the more 4s and 5s there are, even if they happen every day, the less chance of something really catastrophic.
